The best restaurants serving British food in High Peak East Midlands

Really friendly, no food but you can bring food in buy a beer and enjoy, fabulous.

We just turned up and they fitted us in on a very busy Friday night. Food was very nice, and the service was good.

Have past it many times but decided to call in, a great move. The shop has lots of really nice products. Had lunch in the restaurant, excellent coffee and a nice choice of meals, the breakfasts are a bargain but so then are all the meals. Had a bacon and egg butty, really tasty, loverly staff. Will be back.

We were looking for somewhere to watch football on the TV whilst having some good food. Miltons Tap hit the spot perfectly. They reserved us a booth with its own screen. We had 2 dogs with us who were spoilt rotten by the landlord. The food was excellent proper home cooked, we couldn’t fault it. It was freshly cooked, fresh veg, and served pretty quickly. Not really what you’d expect from a town centre pub, it far exceeded our expectations . We were made to feel really welcome. There were tables out the front in the pedestrianised shopping area.

The pie is amazing. I would recommend it was gorgeous. Lovely pub, nice and friendly. OP was a favourite of ours. Well priced

Had a lovely catch-up with a friend we all had a lovely meal Lasagne and steak and ale pie all well presented and all was yummy... and rum and raisin ice cream, which was lovely too. The service was great, and the atmosphere was very good with back ground music 🙂🙂🙂 Three very happy customers

Great place to stay and have drinks but the the food and drinks in the restaurant took ages and also breakfast which let it down.

I booked a stay over for my partners 50 th birthday , we booked our favourite restaurant also in Buxton. I booked this well in advance as it was a special occasion feb 15 th. We arrived on the day to be told they had double booked, I was a little annoyed but as I am also in the hospitality trade I understand this can happen on rare occasions. We decided to transfer the stay to my birthday In may. The staff transferred the date sent confirmation to me by email. On the night we booked the restaurant again also , we tried to contact the accommodation to confirm the reservation for our stay after many calls we got through , we were assured it was booked as didn’t wasn’t a repeat performance. On the day of arrival we had no email no phone call no correspondence ,so we drove up. Upon arrival the place was deserted we repeatedly rang emailed knocked on neighbours to see if anyone could contacts them. After 3 hours we finally had contact , she then told us where to find the key , we went to the key safe but she hadn’t put the key in. By this point we were furious not to ruin one birthday but two. Her attitude was very laps and didn’t seem to be bothered. I asked why we had no correspondence by email or called as we were told we would receive email. There was no explanation I asked for her to refund me and she told me I would have to wait for the refund. I understand things happen but not twice and the lack of caring and brushing it off like it didn’t matter was not good. The whole experience was a joke

Food was amazing...cheese and onion pies was best ive ever had. Service was friendly...relaxed atmosphere. Defo will return.

Excellent visit today. The most lovely hot coffee and Mocha. Cake and Wensleydale beautiful and the beef sandwich was great. The welcome is warm and the ambience friendly.

Welcoming atmosphere and staff, excellent unique vegetarian breakfast. Strongly recommend the Arabic Coffee if you are visiting.

This pub is basically an upmarket Wetherspoons. The pie was not homemade, frozen chips, slightly soggy, instant gravy and broccoli boiled within an inch of its life, all for £18. Hmmmmm 🤔 if this were my business I would not be allowing food like that out of my kitchen.

Finally someone who knows what they are doing! A new lease of life put back into the pub, long gone the whitewash walls. A very cosy atmosphere. Various offers on during the week, best to check the FB page. Dogs are welcome with plenty of treats to hand. Recently had a singer on a Saturday evening and that was great.

2 years on the trot and can't fault it. Very reasonable price, very fresh, quick service, clean, tidy AND dog friendly too !!
