The best restaurants serving British food in High Peak East Midlands

Friendly pub, but the pint of unicorn was far from the best I've had.

Arrived in town late with kids but got a great family meal here. Friendly and fast service - delicious food too.

Excellent food at a very reasonable price. The staff were brilliant. We'll be back.

We had a really good Sunday lunch here. The food was superb - perfect veg and tender meat. The landlord and his staff are really friendly. A great place to eat after a walk around the local reservoirs.

After a hike across the Peak District, we were hoping to find a great roast dinner locally but somewhere new to our friends; unfortunately, the place we recommended and opted for this time was just average. We all felt the service was average; staff were lacking interest in general and when we were asking questions about the specials, they seemed unbothered. We all agreed it was overpriced for what we got too, which was a shame. One tiny carrot, 2 small roast potatoes, cold leeks and cabbage and a watery gravy. The beef was quite nice and the mash was well seasoned. I have been here before for drinks and snacks which we previously enjoyed but on this occasion, we left disappointed.

What absolutely lovely people. the Location and food are amazing. Came in today from London and we left stuffed!! The price of the food is amazing! Everyone is so super friendly and welcoming. Definitely on my list to visit again. No faults whatsoever!

Been a few times now. Last visit we had the service was fantastic and really attentive for the 2 kids we had with us.

one of the worst b&b’s I’ve stayed in. we were in the bed & breakfast for a weekend. the breakfast was nice enough, but the rooms were absolutely filthy. towels and sheets were stained and covered in hair, crockery was dirty & the bathroom floor was covered in hair. there’s no WiFi, even though they listed it on their booking. and the staff were a little too nonchalant and very unwilling to help. on top of this, the pub neglects to mention they put on live music on a Saturday night until 12am which you can hear directly through the walls. and there’s a rooster that lives next door that woke us up at 5am on both mornings.

We had room 7 for a night, it’s a little apartment, which is lovely and perfectly positioned. For those looking for en-suite facilities the loo is the other end of the apartment. More lighting is required at the back (before the gate) The bedroom is a lovely size and plenty blankets etc for extra warmth just felt a bigger bed would be nice as the room can take it. Guessing it’s small / standard double.

The rooms are lovely, the location is brilliant and everything was exactly what we were after. The only disappointment was the breakfast experience. The fact that the breakfast was not a sit down but a take away, the only hot option was a reheated prepacked sausage or bacon cob. In effect the breakfast is a take out cafe that you get 1 item of food and a drink. Therefore we went elsewhere for breakfast.

We've been to Pico Lounge several times now after moving to Glossop and the service is always excellent. They staff are super friendly and attentive and are always so lovely with our Dog. She just loves going, especially as there is a whole section of treats just for Dogs! The food for humans is also excellent too! Great variety, in fact when we took my sister-in-law who is a celiac, she was blown away by the size of the gluten-free menu. Can't fault the place!

Decided to try out The Norfolk Arms whilst staying in the area and googling dog friendly venues - we definitely were not disappointed! Lovely friendly staff, very dog friendly and really good food at a decent price, what’s it to love?

We came her for my wife's birthday. Really excited that we would meet my sister who had come from near London to surprise her . We had a meal the guys had the curry which came up so dry to be honest it was microwaved it was so disappointing as we was paying £16 ahead, so we complained we got two meals for free but I feel I couldn't go to this establishment again for a meal. Sorry but yes 2 meals for free but how many birthdays you have at 60 !!! Never Again

It shut down early July 2024 without warning. Recent management/staffing was very dubious.

Lovely atmosphere lovely staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Fully recommend
