The best restaurants serving British food in East Lindsey East Midlands

Popped in on the passing one Friday evening. We had heard they offer a good selection of homemade pies. It was 7.15pm when we arrived and ordered a drink. A Few drinkers were in evidence, but we were very suspicious that there didn’t appear to be any cooking smells.... this was confirmed when we asked if they were serving food that evening. We were informed they weren’t as the kitchen closes at 7pm...... sorry, a Friday evening and you stop serving meals at 7pm? I gather this pub has had varied past, I doubt the present owners will survive long if they offer such a limited service. Shame, they offered a good beer and service was friendly and polite, but with pubs so reliant on food sales I can’t see how this could possibly succeed in today’s market, coupled to the fact that with so many good alternatives within a very short drive.

i visited the cafe recently with low expectations and my expectations had been lowered, my family and i waited over 50 minutes for a bacon sandwich and 2 full english’s even though it wasn’t busy, when it arrived the toast was hard like it had been reheated and the food was cold. the staff were rather ignorant and had unclean red aprons and red hats on, unfortunately we won’t be visiting again however if greasy grub is what you enjoy then i recommend.

The Welcome Inn is exactly what it says on the tin. The food is lovely. The staff were lovely and went the extra miles to please my picky eating vegetarian daughter! I would definitely visit again when I’m in the area and I would 100% recommend. Thank you all

5/10 the splash Decor ok little out dated but nice country pub vibes Service was good however took a while to clear plates Starter we had creamy mushrooms on toast, toast was dry, not enough sauce on mushrooms and wasn’t the hottest Got chicken burger- sounded lovely on menu- chips were frozen and cooked so was the hallumi fries, burger was ok a lil to crispy and over fried Would go again for a Sunday dinner but not an evening meal

Refreshingly different! Greeted with a smile, always a good start. Great choice of menu, 5 of us had different starters as well as main courses, so we got a good variation of the food available. We were not disappointed; starters were both generous as well as tasty. Main course, arrived altogether, which sometimes is sadly not the case in other restaurants.  Some nice touches to the meal, such as the Goats Cheese Lasagne had a hard-boiled quail's egg. Staff were attentive during our meal without being over the top, as is sometimes the case. I am quick to point out bad restaurants to friends and extended family and I am selective on the ones I would recommend.  This I would and have recommended to several people since our recent visit. Looking forward to another visit..........

The Bacon Burger was the best I've ever tasted all other members of our party had different meals and all enjoyed theirs too Thankyou

My order was 3 separate meals: mine and my daughters was good, my girlfriends order was wrong and given a mixed kebab instead of a full chicken tikka kebab. Tried calling them several times but the line wouldn’t connect. Disappointed.

Lovely place best carvery in grimsby good selection 4 meats on a Sunday 3 in the week. Advised to book taking a risk not to. Highly recommend.

If you look on their FB page they announced very suddenly that they were closing in November 2023 so no point in going there! This needs to be updated on here!

Love the atmosphere and friendliness of staff except for the big guy about 6.4 with the tattoos not friendly !

Chips fried in vegetable oil (separately from anything else). One of the few places with vegan options (just a wrap & spring rolls, but still...).

Absolutely disgusting service ordered 2 teacakes and our friend after us ordered her food, her food comes out 30 minutes later and no sign of the teacakes when we asked for them we were spoke to like trash and then only 1 teacake came when we said there should be 2 teacakes we got "well we are short staffed" another lady then appeared with the missing teacake that wasn't even toasted ended up asking for a refund and that seemed even harder than getting a properly toasted teacake..

Absolutely amazing food the sweet potatoes and chicken was delicious my daughters chips were really and fresh definitely would recommend polite helpful staff

2 of us had cod,chips and curry sauce and a drink here. Fish was ok, not a big portion and chips were nice. However we thought the curry sauce was very good.

The service here is excellent the surroundings also lovely however I wasn’t so keen on the food. To start we had chicken gujons which were over cooked and loaded potato skins which were excellent I wish I ordered two of these for mains the club sandwich it was of a good size however the menu stated it was toasted but this sandwich barely saw a toaster the bacon had a nasty aftertaste of burnt griddle also unsure of the masses of mayonnaise with a runny fried egg seems quite an odd combination to me . Deserts were nice .
