Went to the Boathouse Restaurant at Southview Skegness , 3/08/2024 , My 2nd visit this year for breakfast , it was extremely busy but the service was amazing , we were served by Julie , have to say she never stops , what a credit to Southview , always bubbly and shows she really loves what she does . My breakfast was very enjoyable , I had the traditional breakfast and must commend the chefs it was perfect . The facilities were also very good , I couldn’t fault my visit at all .

The food was spot no, very nice, and staff serving were professional friendly and helpful. Will be definitely be going back .

Nice breakfast and dinner( big portions), very friendly staff , prices also not too bad. They also had a gluten free menu for children which was really nice.

Arrived at the boathouse which we have used for many years. We went to the bar to order breakfast , breakfast and orange juice ordered and also tried to order coffee when the lady tutted and said we should have ordered coffee first . We were told there would be a wait however there was only a small amount of people in there . We waited around 30 minutes, when it arrived the bacon was burnt and the eggs very overcooked. The tables were dirty and sticky the hygiene was terrible ,the glass with the orange juice in was filthy and the most of the serving staff were miserable and not a smile amongst them. We had been going to the boathouse for many years however due to new management the place has gone down hill . Previous owners were friendly and approachable the place was clean and food was good, unlike the staff we encounters and the food we were served on our last visit . We definitely will not be going again.

We always use The Boathouse for breakfast when the old landlord was alive unfortunately we went this July.I ordered at the bar breakfast orange juice when I ordered the coffee the lady tutted and said I should have ordered the coffee earlier..I was told there will be abit of a wait but there Wernt many people in!! The tables wer sticky the cleanliness was suspect to say the least.The breakfast finally arrived it was poor quality and you couldn’t buy a smile out of the staff will not be returning and may I suggest this landlord and staff need to find another job!!!!!

We found the breakfast very underwhelming and overpriced, out of 5 breakfasts 3 were wrong, bacon was overcooked and like cardboard, the sausages were undercooked and tasteless, streaky bacon on the children’s resembled strips of fat and not much bacon. Would not revisit for breakfast unfortunately.

Aways wanted to try this place but never again.table not cleared and not clean.one family asked for table to be clead girl came over and bit dropped on to the young lad no customer service. Waited over 35 mins for food to arrive girl that served us, brought us bread and butter then our food was left under heat lamp for 5 mins then she took it to the overside of the room put it back to find out whos it was then eventualy it came to us. Food was not great. We were very dissapionted in this place, staff and cleanliness first and last time.

Great service lovely friendly staff especially Lainy with the pink hair, so friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing

Great place. Awesome entertainment. Great atmosphere. But you sit outside and there is a disgusting smell. Like bad food. Hot tuna melt and dirty scum pond water all rolled into one.

So first time in the boathouse and what can I say ,I was Greeted by a lovely lady called Lainey (Lady with pink hair ),she has the most amazing personality so friendly and will go that Extra mile to help you ..also makes Amazing coffee ☕ Breakfast was lovely and there is plenty of space and outdoor seating ,will definitely be back for Another breakfast and to see lovely Lainey .. We come here regularly for little breaks and the boat house is always a nice little stop for a quick drink or food. However, on precious occasions when we've attended for breakfast there's either little food available or nothing atall and this is still around 10:0/10:30 AM. Compared to food served on an evening, there seems to be plenty but when serving breakfast there seems to be very little. This last weekend when we visited seemed to be the only time we've had a good breakfast (with plenty of option) which was great to recieve but I'm writing this review to represent on previous occasion and others who I've spoken to who've said recently that the breakfasts haven't been great so it's just something to consider going forward.

Lady behind bar was shocking basically told a customer"" there was no hot food only what was available behind bar told another woman with 3 dogs she couldn't come in the side door bcoz it was closed but it was her attitude as the way she said it on another note the beer fosters?? Wasn't brilliant either. Never again 😠😠

Honestly where do I start with this place. We went here on our last night. As only place to go on site really. We didn't get the best welcome of a young lady. So found our own seat. No one came over to us once to explain to us about ordering. We placed our order asked for the starters to come out first. It said a 30 minute wait which we were fine about. My husband went over to the bar to order drinks. He was overcharged for these and a lady was still demanding another £5 of him. The manager came to sort the issue out but didn't know how to do a refund. Whilst he was at the bar. Our food arrived it couldn't have been more than 10 minutes since we ordered it. The starters arrived with the mains. The food where do I start. It honestly looked like a bunch of microwave meals slapped on a plate no presentation at all. I could see the garlic bread was raw with a bit of melted cheese on it. My husband's curry was awful the rice was all hard and cold. My pasta meatballs was stone colled and tasted awful. I complained to a young lady and told her we can't eat it as it's cold and raw. A manager came over and apologised. He first offered us a round of drinks and desserts. We don't drink and we had already ordered desserts. So he said breakfast on us. We were than left alone and no one came over to take the food away. Eventually the young lady came over and asked if we wanted desserts. I said we had already them. She laughed at me and said she wasn't aware of us ordering desserts. For me that was the final straw. For an employee to laugh at a customer is totally unacceptable. From what I could see the staff that worked there were young and very inexperienced. Some serious training needs to be put in place. I told the lady that was it. I wanted a full refund. We waited and she said it would either be in the bank within 3 working days. My husband got a refund but only for the desserts. So he has been chasing the rest. Seriously would not bother here again even if you paid me

Excellent food choice,service quick, staff friendly, no need to book.Reasonable prices, some items were not available due to Covid supply problems but staff more that able to sort alternatives.

First time back in years and won’t be rushing back again Ordered a carvery and 2 meals, meals took ages to arrive but the quality was good. Carvery was ok, but only allowed 1 choice of meat and the veg was well over seasoned. Didn’t see a single member of staff smile or look interested to be there

The food in here has gone downhill rapidly. You have to download an app to order your food and drink that seems to take ages. Drinks and food eventually ordered then waited nearly 40 minutes for drinks arriving,all the while people going to bar and ordering and picking up drinks.... the food came after waiting over an hour. The steak n ale pie was disgusting...more like a poor quality pukka pie done in microwave. Tasteless and pastry horrid. Portion of onion rings were soggy. Spoke to waiter about how long we waited and how long drinks were on bar. His reply " we're short staffed" . Partner had a fruit cider that was plonked on the table by a waitress with attitude when we asked for a glass with ice. I will never eat in here again after being a customer for past few years. For £2 less you can get a homemade steak pie full of meat and flavour from Welcome Inn down the road. My advice would be to go elsewhere(Welcome Inn or Fleece Inn)

Just been for a carvery food and value very good however why allow dogs in ! There was a family in with a dog she started eating her meal then. Fed the dog with the same fork she was eating her meal with. Disgusting ,! Never visit again till you ban dogs !!

In all the years of eating out this place wins the title for worst ever, two starters and mains all overcooked and inedible. The table next to ours received their deserts at the same time as their mains. Now l know why nobody eats here....

Visit here regular when on the coast and always get a friendly welcome.Lots of drinks choices at reduced rates with a discount card.Ate here a couple of times and food wholesome.

From the outside it looks great and yes the inside looks the real thing too but at 6pm my wife and I with my 3 children joined a large queue for food I went to the bar to order 5 drinks I wanted a pint of beer and my kids wanted a kids fruit juice cocktail which were expensive but why not we were on holiday I went to the bar and the beer I wanted had ran out and 2 of the three fruit cocktails were out of stock whilst I was asking the kids what else did they want my wife had reached the front of the food queue all 5 of our food choices were unavailable so my wife said to the barman well what's on the menu that is available to which he replied not a great deal at this point she called me at the bar and said to if if they have no food I don't see the point of staying so I told the bar lady not to worry about the drinks thank you she looked totally miffed and walked away mean while at the front of the food queue the staff member glared at my wife and rudely said I don't do the ordering to which she replied well I'm not going to order when you don't have anything we want and don't talk to me in that tone please I'm a customer the staff member then said which we all still find hard to believe he said fu** you I don't care then walked away.At hearing this I come over guite angry and said who the hell are you don't talk to my wife like that he swore again and grabbed his coat and told another staff member he was taking his break and stormed out at this point the manager ran from the back and asked us what happened so we told her she said I'm sorry about the food situation we haven't had a delivery and he shouldn't have spoken like that to us .I replied by saying you will never get any of our business whilst we stay at the resort the manager seemed unitrested and ran out of the restaurant to find the staff member.It seemed to all of us she was more worried about the staff member than us no decent apologizing no here have a complimentary drink no nothing.My advice would be never to bother with this place in many ways she did us a favour because on the park is a restaurant in the parks main hotel the south view hotel called the orangery which was a similar price but always had everything on it's menu and were all polite and genually pleased to serve us .The boathouse was a disgrace and an utter waste of time stay well away

After a lovely day out with my family (my mum, dad and two little brothers) we decided to have a meal out so we went to the boathouse. Me and my brothers went to find a table whilst my parents went to order some food and drinks. They went up to the bar and started to order our food and the staff member serving was very short and snappy with my mum. He told her theyd ran out of the food we wanted to order. She then asked what food was left to order. He went through what was there and there was next to nothing. The staff member then went on to say that it wasn't his fault and that he doesn't do the orders. So my mum then said that there's no point eating here if there is nothing on the menu to which the staff member replied and told my mum to f**k off. Management came running out after hearing what he said and she was more worried about the staff member running off. She never apologised for the way we were spoken to. Even after all of that there was no complimentary drinks to apologise for the dispicable behaviour of her staff. Definitely will not be going back to the boat house ever. I highly recommend people avoid the place.

Good food....prices to be respected. Only draw back was constant queing for food and drink...TOO AGES! Some bar staff in need of customer relations training.....whilst others -especially lady wearing Mickey mouse ears was so friendly and helpful. Some of our group went to watch footie match....NOT GOOD .....Wide screen was 4 tv's together not easy to view and on second match NO SOUND AT ALL.

Visited mid afternoon and both restaurant area upstairs and bar very sparsely populated. Took 40 minutes for food to arrive, after prompting. Classic burger okay but the chips were the worst chips I have been presented with in over 30 years. Limp, oily and tasteless. I reckon 'chef' was using very old oil. Both my wife and I did not eat them. They should be crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. In this day and age there should be no excuses for poor chips. I realise it is a holiday resort and the current weather very hot but do we have to have to put up with male customers (some with huge stomachs) not wearing anything above their waist? These were the men of course! It puts you off your food. One good point however, toilets were very clean and presentable.

We had a portion of chips they were ok, but expensive. We have stayed at the park two years ago and the food was a lot cheaper then. We didn't bother having anything else of the menu as it was so expensive.

Visited the boat house whilst staying in the caravan park last week (18th June- 22nd June) food was delicious both myself and hubby had the butterfly chicken burger and it was so tasty, the only thing I had an issue with was the time it took to actually order the food. There were 2 staff members behind the bar and it took each of them forever to make one drink then one of them was more interested in chatting to their friends at a table than taking an order from the next customer. It was quite expensive for 2 main meals and 2 soft drinks but it was worth it, I just feel that management maybe need to retrain their staff to recognise that it's a busy place with lots of people and chatting with their friends whilst customers are waiting seems a bit silly. After I ordered I had to go back to the bar to question the order as the receipt didn't have the right information on it but I landed up giving up and going back to my table as the wait was incredibly long and there was only one person in front of me. Overall, food amazing service too slow and staff behind the bar didn't really give off a friendly approachable attitude.

Lovely, well decorated and clean, went in tea time and the place was about 3/4 full. Meals were ok, tad pricey as it was about par with a good wetherspoons. The drinks were fine with a reasonable selection.

The service at the counter was slow the cocktails were even slower. some dishes had not got what should have been on the menu

very clean friendly staff and the food wow amazing and portions are a fair size i struggled to eat it all if you want a decent meal then come here the prices look a bit steep at first but once you see the food you will understand why worth every penny

The boat house is a waste of time for food if u get it within a hour ur lucky then to be cold it’s under staffed as well as staff being incompetent been no different since it was reopened in 2016

We decided to have breakfast before we left for home , if I wasn't in a hurry I'd have sent mine back, it took25 mins to bring out food , before getting orders mixed up and my eggs Benedict, must have been forgotten about , the eggs were hard boiled and the hollandaise sauce was set , they need to get there act together , it was 11am when we went in and they were only waiting on around 5 tables , steer clear folks .

Despite our best efforts we didn't get to eat. Waited for an hour and a quarter after ordering with 4 hungry (and increasingly tired) children. Enquired twice how long it was likely to be and were told it was not possible to find out. Eventually gave up and cancelled the order. The venue was busy-ish on this evening, but by no means packed. This could probably be anticipated in a holiday park venue in high summer.

Called in for a carvery meal on a Monday afternoon.Three of us rated our meals as average, with average prices.The staff did not seem to be as friendly as in other places and we have had better tasting carverys in the local area.

We visited with family as a whole the cleanliness was good and was very busy. We had 7 meals, the value for money was shocking so over priced for most of the meals. Some of them were under cooked and reheated when we asked for replacements. The staff were very rude, a girl tried to clear the table while two of our party were still eating and when we asked if she could wait she rolled her eyes and walked of. The manger was also rid no apology for the undercooked items and we we're made to feel wrong about complaining. When I asked for what was stated on the menu a 175ml glass of wine and the only other options were 250ml or the bottle so my partner asked for small it was another size completely so when I asked about it the bar staff have me a dirty look and said that's what you asked for! Would not go here again. We get better service and value for money in McDonald's

This restaurant is about 3 minuets walk from the southview Park hotel where we were staying, its in the caravan park, part of the park resorts. The Boat House is a new restaurant rebuilt in 2015 after a fire. It is clean and tidy with plenty of room to move about between tables, the staff are well turned out, cheerful and polite. The food is well prepared fresh, hot and plenty of it at a reasonable price, food is served all day and you don't have to book unlike the hotel, a very good traditional English breakfast is served until 11-30 at a cost of £5-50 compared with the hotel at £10-00 if you don't book We had breakfast on 4 mornings and 2 evening meals The restaurant has a good extensive menu from toast to steaks at reasonable prices. I would have no doubts about visiting again and can highly recommend.
