Jug and Bottle in East Lindsey

We had not visited for 1-2 years (used to visit regularly) so booked a table one of us had never been here yet, so we had to share the great food experience.... It was at 19:00 we arrived, but it was still fairly busy, not too busy though. A friendly welcome, after which we were shown to our table. Shortly after we purchased our food tickets at the bar, as well as our drinks. After having put the drinks on the table we queued (a very short queue) to get our meats, red cabbage, fried potatoes, sprouts, etc. I opted for gammons, pigs in blanket, turkey and beef, as everything looked nice. As expected I also took everything else. To end taking some gravy, no sauces (ketchup and/or may). I tried the turkey 1st, but it was tasteless white meat. So, I took some beef, but this too had any taste... The gammons however tasted very nice, but then the 'pib's' were too fried and tasted strange. I unfortunately was kind of disappointed, it was not like I remembered. The very small sprouts were boiled too long and were very soft (no bite), the carrots were nice, but then again the potatoes tasted greasy. No nice fried potato taste. They had a thick, hard , greasy crust. My apologies for a review like this and I hope next time will one better, like 2 years ago...

Great pizza as always tryed the Christmas one very nice would go back again staff all friendly and nice my partner had cheese burger pizza and she enjoyed it too

We booked for carvery it was delicious. I had roast beef which was cooked to perfection. Excellent choice of vegetables. Everything was hot. We were served by Becks who was very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return, it was very busy which is always a good sign

Once again, great service with a smile, Victoria was her usual friendly and welcoming self, infact all the staff are. The food is always delicious and fresh, making our evening very enjoyable.

Went in for tea great service by Imogen who delivered the drinks and Kids meal to the table . Always use the app for table service Carvery was excellent just had the beef . Service was great as normal

Recommend the crispy chicken burger and ask for the Frank's hot sauce. Also, the pizzas are great.

Apple pie was soggy , children screaming everywhere. however service from our waitress Ella was impeccable, accommodating and helpful.

Good standard reliable fayre . It’s always going to be acceptable and what you would expect for the money . Friendly staff . A Sunday morning breakfast is pretty good 😄

Amazing food at an amazing price, always have the carvery & always leave full and happy! Generally very busy, kids & sweary parents in abundance but just ignore that & tuck in to your dinner!

Went for all you can eat breakfast. Very good quality produce used throughout, with plenty of choice. Could do with a couple more staff as we waited for someone to seat us, then serve us at the bar, then serve food, but not too long. Well worth the wait though.

Ordered a pizza through the website , picked up and the guy at the pizza counter was a credit to your company

We regularly visit the Jug & Bottle, our local for a Carvery. The food is always excellent. The serving area is kept clean, the food is hot and the dishes are replaced quickly meaning everything is always available. The venue itself is warm, welcoming and clean. Fiona is a brilliant manager and is always front of house whenever we go. She is always helping the rest of her team clearing tables, serving, showing people to tables etc. Her team are polite, approachable and friendly. There's no wonder this is the best Carvery in our area! Well done, and keep up the good work 👏

We came for breakfast and was quite disappointed. We were the first ones in and ordered on the app as we assumed that would speed things up, obviously not! You’ve got to wait for the server to bring your ticket over so you can go up and get your food, absolutely not show that you’ve paid on your phone. We then had to wait 10 minutes for that ticket. Food wasn’t great, there wasn’t an explanation of what there was, turned out this dirty fries thing that I had was a very very sweet thing and not savoury as expected, quite the shock to the taste buds. Queuing for the food is very unorganised too. Sadly not the experience I’ve previously had there. However, decor was lovely, plenty of parking, tables and chairs comfy.

Since last visit we've been a few times now for a a Sunday Carvery, I was shocked with how busy it was today (Sunday 13th october) There must have been about 50-60 people queuing for the Carvery, however the kitchen team were able to keep up, didn't have to wait for any of the vegetables etc We went for Breakfast, was a great breakfast. Couple of things I want to point out as didn't understand why. Why you had to pay extra for Mushrooms on a breakfast Buffet, what makes them anymore valuable then say sausages or eggs? Would have preferred scrambled egg. The coffee machine wasn't working for lattes/cappo etc so was normal coffee or tea, so we went for Juice. However they do serve fried bread here which was enjoyed. They accept Blue Light Card, just ensure you download the code so they can knock it off the bill

Had a the carvery, think I got stitched up with the beef with the amount of fat on it, also no loo paper in the disabled toilet.

Little disappointed. Booked a table for 10 people for my dad’s birthday. I asked at the end if they could maybe write happy birthday on a place or on his pudding that he ordered. The person serving me went to the kitchen come back and said ‘nah we can’t do that’. Very disappointing.

Lovely cosy place. Great food and at a fair price. Lovely staff who are always friendly, attentive and have a smile. And thank you to Fiona, Pat, Ruth and Tom who usually look after us weekly. Well done guys xx it's always a weekly pleasure with you all xx

First class carvary and good service recomend

Food is good, service is a bit poo, staff have never been smiley or chatty. Breakfast buffet is great and reasonably priced. It’s ‘ok’ but good value

Went for self service breakfast. Good selection, food okay but a bit odd that there's an extra charge for mushrooms! Not a pleasant experience,tables crammed in, kids screaming and running around. Very cramped and dark. Not likely to go again.

Went for breakfast on Saturday morning. Lighting is a little dark and place felt a bit cramped, but food was decent. Though they charge extra for mushrooms, which I thought was really odd? I can understand it more with eggs maybe, or a specific meat or high priced item, but shrooms is weird 😂

Always our first choice for a family meal. Came in last week for 2 carveries, a pizza and a burger and was not disappointed. Nothing was too much trouble and the best roast potatoes in the area! Will be back soon, thank you x

My first time to the jug and bottle but it won’t be my last! We had a wonderful breakfast. Delicious. Tons of choice and super quick. Lovely cuppa tea and oat milk available too! It’s such a cosy lovely feel and I liked the look of the pizza ovens so I’ll be back another time to try them out!

You are never disappointed when visiting here. The food is hot and plentiful and of a good quality. There is an extensive menu and enough choice to suit every family member under one roof should it be breakfast, dinner or teatime.

Absolutely horrendous went for our anniversary meal with family the tables where all full of empty glasses and food plates that people had left there was at least 15 staff on and two behind the bar the queues where absolutely horrendous if there was an emergency they wouldn’t of got in to attend anyone absolutely over packed and that’s pure greed on the jug and bottle they have a list of what’s on the carvery when you approach the counter but nothing seemed to be on that they was advertising the meat was fatty the mash was powdery and the carrots where frozen and gravy like water and they charge £12 for that I find it absolutely disgusting that they serve such slop and get away with it I’m sure the manager just sees pound signs and forgets the rules to how many people are to occupy the pub at one time safe to say I will not be returning can’t even staff the bar for her over crowded pub disgusting

Great meal tonight, the pizzas are really nice and the dough is thin and crispy just how I like. The carvery looked lovely and it was so busy, it's a very popular place to eat

What can you say.... It had the atmosphere of a miners club on a wet Wednesday. The food to say the best was mundane, devoid of taste and presented with little pride. It really needs a kick up the backside.

Popped in for breakfast on Sunday, it was a little busy but the queue moved really quickly. Lovely, hot food. Was a really nice breakfast.

Spotted this gem driving my lorry. I asked if it was ok to park my tractor unit, while I had a carvery. The staff were so friendly and obliged me. So glad they did, because the food was lovely. Complements to the chefs.

Visited here whilst on holiday. Fantastic service from start to finish. The staff are so polite, can’t do enough for you. The food is outstanding. We had the carvery, it was delicious and all fresh. And if you’re looking for a nice dessert you have to go with the chocolate fudge cake. It’s so soft and melts in your mouth. I’d highly recommend this pub for food..

First time visiting this pub as was visiting the area for the day, will most DEFINITELY go back when we can, I have eating problems and don’t enjoy eating out but had the carvery today as was starving!!!! My partner had the same. Meat Cooked to perfection, potatoes and vegetables were all soft and well cooked, was the best meal out I’ve had in a long time, staff super friendly and welcoming, will definitely recommend if in the area.

This place has gone down hill big time. Just had the worse breakfast since we've been coming for years. Black pudding under cooked and cold. Bacon over fatty and swimming in it's fat. Sausages passable. Hash browns were ok and crispy. Eggs so tiny you needed at least a couple. On the whole this place is nothing like it used to be and getting scruffy too. You have to wipe seats before seating down as greasy surfaces. Tables not wipe properly. What's a matter with the management??

7 of us went for breakfast all ended up with food poisoning

As a celiac the breakfast menu offered very little and I was amazed they hadn't even got bread for toast. I had to settle with bacon egg and beans when so much more could have been offered, even the hash browns came with a take your chances. Everywhere else these are GF.

The best carvery I've had in the area. Consistently good. Not sure what the non carvery meals are like as I've not tried them. A good selection of drinks, nice staff, plenty of tables and parking spaces.

Just been and ordered 2xSmall Carveries. My last hot meal before I go under the knife to have cancerous tumours removed tomorrow. "Small"? Make that minute. Food not overly hot, but the plate it was served was very hot. The carver was asked for a serviette, his response showed his 100% lack of customer skills. He stated "They're at your table" and made no effort to help a customer who then had to carry a red hot plate - so my partner went and got some. Disgusting service from a carver who looked like ha didn't want to be there. Don't try getting a job in customer services, you'd fail miraculously.

The food was of outstanding quality and served by friendly and warm welcoming members of staff, the service was excellent from start to finish. Will definitely be returning again!

Went there Sunday for the carvery and I really enjoyed it everything was hot. Spoke with the manageress Becky liked the place so much I even asked for a job. Will definitely be going back

We visit at least once a week for either breakfast or carvery. It has become our go to place. Food is always fresh & hot. Prices are very reasonable. Pat & Fiona always friendly. Highly recommend

We visited this establishment for a family meal and were very impressed. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting, with a rustic warm theme decor and nicely dim lighting. The staff were courteous and professional, greeting us with a smile and a warm welcome. They quickly seated our family of five, including a baby, and were attentive to our needs throughout the meal. The food was delicious and well-prepared. I enjoyed the signature burger, while my partner had the carvery. The menu offered a wide variety of options at reasonable prices, and they even had baby bowls available, which was a nice touch. Overall, I was very pleased with our experience and would highly recommend this establishment to others. The quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all excellent. I am particularly interested in trying their pizza, as I understand it is freshly made on site and is considered to be their specialty. Food was fine, had the carvery. It's £1 more expensive than the Trawlerman and about on par. Long, long queues for the carvery, much longer than the Trawlerman, once we finally got to the front of the queue, I found the female carver quite rude. In conclusion, should you go here or the Trawlerman? The Trawlerman wins hands down for us, so make your own choice

Awful service, waiting 20 minutes for the carver to serve 4 people, the manager was most unfriendly when asked he had been there since 12 noon and no one was available to take over, obviously understaffed. Avoid if you are in a rush

Had a great time. I chose the Margherita pizza with vegan cheese, and it was delicious. The place was cosy and nice to relax in. There was a wonderful variety of carvery vegetables to choose from. The staff was friendly. I recommend this place for a tasty meal in a comfortable setting.

We go at least once a week and it is always busy and.The staff are amazing and the service is exceptional.The food is next level and the chef's are always polite and happy.Even when the place is packed to the rafters the place and the table you are given is always spotless.

Poor service , poor comunication, no staff to dort problem on the day , no reply after my complaint, poor quality food, inedible meat , rude manager.

Family of 6, all had a range of different food. Pizza was amazing, carvery was excellent and we all enjoyed the starter. X

We arrived at the time we had booked our meal & were kept waiting quite a long time to be shown to our table. Three of the guests had carvery which looked really lovely, I had scampi which I thoroughly enjoyed. The waitress was very nice & asked us if everything was ok which it was after we finally got to our table. We will still return for another meal.

I cannot moan about the food it was exceptional, however the service was no way near the food standard in fact it was awful. Yes they was busy but the male serving our food just about slammed my granddaughters desert down in front of her not our fault the order was wrong then we waited well over 20 mins for the adult desserts to be told a load of rubbish and would still probably wait a while as the orders had not gone through or something like then. I went to pay and yes I did complain but then to be told all orders went through time appropriately but kitchen was just doing orders as they came through and obs not checking We was walking out to then be told the desserts were ready so I’m afraid there may be lack of communication. Also I had three young grand children who was fed up of waiting. Unhappy customer!!!!!

Popped in for a quick breakfast as we were passing and needed something quickly. We got our tickets really quickly and were able to grab all the food we wanted. It was all piping hot and there was loads to choose from.

A lovely carvery. Roast gammon roast turkey and roast beef. Five choices of veg. Two choices of potatoes. Yorkshire puds and pigs in blankets. Absolutely fab....

Been there several times with either family, friends or both. Fantastic food, the carvery is to die for, great friendly service & a wonderful ambience inside. We, family & friends, will continue visiting, usually once, but sometimes twice, a month.

Breakfast was very good as allways and ruth and becky who served us were spot on very friendly and allways had a smile on there faces, would highly recommend anyone to go for breakfast there.

We went here last night Frist time ever waited to be seated girl never asked if we had been before nothing sat us in a corner near the carvery no room to move hot food counter looked a complete mess wont ne returning we just walked out. Went to the trawlerman was lovely.

Not been in here for about a year due to a couple of bad meals, (Inedible roast beef and on another occasion cold Pizza!) Tonight ordered 2 Pizzas the Pepperoni one was excessively salty and we waited 40 minutes for them to arrive at the table. Waitress was lovely and apologetic. But prior to this I had been to the Pizza prep area and asked the cook if my Pizzas were anywhere near ready he lied to me as he told me they were in the oven!!! ...they weren't even made! Not happy. I try to promise myself never to return.

Warning for people with hearing difficulties Non of us had been here before...... My mother in law has a cochlear implant and we got put in the big room on the end this had a children party in (children wasn't particularly behaving either witch didn't help the situation) the room was very loud to the point my mother in law couldn't hear a word we was saying, we asked to move tables and explain the situation. Floor manager (i think) told us we would have to wait a hour after we already book this table. There where plenty of other tables that we could of swaped for (there was 5 of us). We was very disappointed that they didn't even trying to accommodate for a disability! Am not one to complain either but anything to do with any disabilities it grains my gears Good job the food was good !

We booked a table for a easy lunch with the kids , was greeted by the lovely Fiona and Phoebe who showed us to the table. Lucy was an absolute angel helping me out with my order . My sister was really impressed with the carvery and the pizza was fab . Faith looked after us and she is always a delight. She sorted the girls pudding super fast , which always helps when your dinning with 2 young children. And the lovely Becky made sure we had everything we need and popped to see the girls who always love to chat to her when they come in . Thank you guys , we will be in to see you again soon x

Booked in the morning, friends still had to wait extra time for carvery so I had to eat alone. The waitress was very pushy, also my pizza was grainy.

Definitely will be going back there .
