Exceptional, the food , the presentation, the service is world class. The culinary experience is of the highest standards. Hidden away in the small town of Bakewell. Michelin guide experience at its best. Absolutely faultless. 7 course taster menu with wine 😮💨 Best of the best….. if it’s good enough for Tom Cruise, it’s good enough for me

Beautiful food, we had afternoon tea and the savoury comes out first then the sweet. All the food was delicious and there was plenty of it.The service was amazing!! We took my 7 year old daughter and there wasn’t anything on the menu she wanted. Jaeger asked if she wanted a plain sandwich and some chips. It went down a treat as did her ice cream. Jaeger was so attentive, kind and helpful. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

We have been regularly coming to Bakewell to shop for several decades, usually incorporating a light lunch or afternoon tea as part of the day. Our first choice for food used to be Bytheway’s, but alas this shut a few years ago, and we have been working our way round the many different cafes & pubs in the town to find a new favourite. We went to the Lime Lounge for the first time today, and it is certainly now high on our list. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed, the extensive menu, dominated by all-day breakfasts, filled rolls and paninis with gluten free and meat-substitute variants along with a selection of cakes and pastries was ideal for us, and at what we thought was a very reasonable price. The food was of very good quality and in generous portions, and we left well fed and happy, and will certainly return.

Enjoyed afternoon tea at the Cavendish restaurant at Chatsworth house as a birthday treat. It’s expensive but it was exquisite. The venue is lovely. We had great service and at no time were we rushed. The choice of tea/ coffee is fantastic. Our server was happy to make recommendations on choices. All the food was delicious - from the soup starter to the exquisite cakes. A palette cleanser of Elderflower sorbet was delicious. Great choice of sandwiches and a delicious Welsh rarebit Bon Bon. Warm scones, jam & cream. We all enjoyed the afternoon tea very much in beautiful surroundings.

I do love The Rutland Arms and visit quite regularly. When they get it right here, it’s unbeatable, and they got it right when four of us visited for a family lunch in December. We all chose different main courses and, apart from my slight disappointment that the kitchen had run out of apple sauce to accompany my roast pork, everything was spot on. One of our group had roast beef, one went for the fish and chips and the other person chose coachman’s chicken. As well as the perfectly cooked veggies that were served with the dishes, we shared a couple of portions of cauli cheese and it was all divine. My roast pork was tender, lean and melted in the mouth as, apparently, was the roast beef. Prior to our mains, two of us had the carrot, coriander and coconut soup, served with lovely crusty bread, and it had the most gorgeous flavours. I loved the croutons, too, which were lovely and crunchy on the outside with a nice softness inside. Timings were perfect, with just the right amount of time to relax between the courses when I could savour the utter deliciousness of the soup. The other three managed deserts, one crumble and two crème brûlée, and, although the latter is my all time favourite dessert, I was stuffed to the point of thinking I’d need to be rolled out of the place if another morsel passed my lips! Service was faultless. With drinks and 10% service charge, our bill came to just under £166 which, I felt, was excellent value for money. It really was a perfect family lunch.

Just a tip when paying your bill - PAY BY CASH !! I payed by card and the transaction went through twice, I tried many times to get my money back and been unsuccessful 😥 so had to go to my bank and try to resolve the problem-not good when the owner won’t credit back what they owe me and it’s issue 2 months down the line, after many opportunities to do so !!!

Popped in for a refreshing drink after a stroll around the town. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. A great range of drinks and although we didn’t eat…the food looked amazing! The beer garden area was bright and cheerful with plenty of seating. We stall definately pop in again and hopefully try the Sunday lunch too ☺️
