The best restaurants serving British food in Derby East Midlands

I went there for food. It didn't disappoint me the chips was proper homemade chips which was very nice. Definitely will be going back. In the near future.

Very enjoyable time very good food

Bank Holiday Monday. We turned up 7ish and there was space for us to sit and order food. The menu is a good selection of starters, mains and deserts. The pies looked big, otherwise the portion size was medium, my pesto chicken was very tasty. The food arrived in a sensible time (not too quick and not too slow). All the food was well prepared and presented. The deserts were quite large, I had the cheesecake and it was a struggle to finish. We were all pleased with our choices. The staff were friendly and efficient. The bill was a pleasant surprise and we gave a generous tip.

First time we have called in this Magnificent old building opposite the cathedral in derby parking on side street 3 steps to main entrance this building send to be a famous book shop Lovely well spaced tables and great fresh snacks and teas

Usual Greggs items for purchase, quick service from the staff, I can imagine this outlet on a match day would be very busy with customers.

Situated on one of the main roads into Derby if you blink you will miss it. More of a takeaway cafe but there is very limited seating inside and a bench outside with parking at the rear. This little cafe stocks Project D doughnuts but get there early as they seem to sell out quickly.

You would not go much wrong by visiting the Silk Mill either just for a drink or even a meal. Friendly greeting from the staff, sat outside enjoying a pint then inside to eat, good menu choice, tasty food, well laid out dining area with excellent service from the staff.

This was our first time visiting here and we will definitely go back! Lovely food, great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful

Well what a sad review to write. The team have been pulled apart under the closure terms, many of which have been made redundant from a career they have worked in for decades. Until the news it has always been great food and great service. Understandable that they slipped a bit given the circumstances. Thank you all for your years of service to us all. All the best for the whole team for the future. Derby will miss The Mallard!

Food great. Receptionist welcoming. Server Jodie - really poor. Was tempted to not pay the service charge - first time we would have done this. More detail - not very welcoming, seemed like she didn’t enjoy her job. Was declined deserts and waited an age for our bill - had to chase it. Shame as could have easily been a 5 star review based on the food.
