Came purely for the carvery as its always really good, as usual we weren't let down! Family time spent well, we had desserts today and they were exquisite 👌🏻 Sammy always greets us with a big smile.

Lovely food and very welcoming staff especially Tash and Andy today but all the staff are great as always ,we had the burger and was very nice , hot and the fries were delicious

Visited for a quick bite to eat as didn’t want to cook. I had the carvery which was great as always but my son tried the new kebab they have on the menu. Really wish I had gone for the kebab as it smelt amazing and my son said how good it was. Will definitely be giving it a try next time.

As frequent customers we always know what to expect, good quality food and excellent service. The staff are always very welcoming and polite and nothing is ever too much. We will be back again soon. 5* as always

My server was called ruth, she was a very bubbly girl! Always had a smile on her face and made our night by being so kind and friendly! 10/10 service, the food was beautiful and I will definitely be going again!😀

Came as a large group for tea tonight. We had a mix of carvery and food from the kitchen. There was clean plates all around 😊 Tasha looked after us very well and even booked us back in for next week

We visited the blue jay for a meal there was the 2 of us me and my husband. We stopped here for our anniversary, the meal was amazing the food had a lot of taste and was pipping hot. The staff were very friendly and made us fell welcome. We are definitely going to be return very soon

The restaurant it self has very good parking space as soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and felt very welcomed as did my girlfriend we was sat down in a quite area and the woman on the bar called Aletia was very helpful with what we wanted as we wasn’t too sure and my missus had a chicken burger and I had a carvery which she said it was cooked to perfection and the carvery I had was very nice all the veg was fresh and hot and the meat portions was very nice great staff very friendly great restaurant and great food definitely recommend to friends and family

Went out for an evening meal was quite busy but ordered quickly and wasn't waiting for food quick service friendly staff and a great night in general

Came for Mother's Day and was not disappointed! There was a big group of us and we had a great time, mum loved it. Carvery was delicious and the desserts were great. Will be back again for sure.

We visited for lunch we were greeted by a very friendly lady she seated us straight away we ordered carvery which was lovely hot fresh and very tasty we will be returning soon well done

Just called for a carvery late lunch it was awful (3pm). We were a party of 4 one had the turkey which was edible, the vegetables for all four of us the peas were ok, carrots dried up mashed potatoes had a crust on top where they were dried up red cabbage was mush, no words can describe the cauliflower and the roast potatoes were hard and tasteless with a leather coat. The other 3 had the beef with the above veg, 2 had the beef which was left from a large joint very dry on the outside but the middle was ok the other one had the beef from a fresh joint, upon eating it tasted nasty he did return his meal and got a refund to be honest we all should have returned our meals. When we left the premises the joint which had the nasty taste was still on the carvery being served.

Yet again we’ve had another fantastic meal here. The kebab was amazing!! Our son had a Carvery and the lady chef was very friendly with him. We took the giant cakes home as we couldn’t eat anything else whilst there. See you again the next time we are in town.

We can for a quick meal the other day and I must say we were more than happy with the service. The manager was a jolly chap with a great smile and the team that work there are all very friendly. The food was as good as we remembered from months ago. Keep up the great work.

The food in the blue jay is awful. My meal arrived without the butter sauce and was cold. It was sent back and returned dry and tasteless.

Greeted warmly on arrival, served quickly & efficiently at the bar. Check in to the inn was quick & easy. Room including bathroom in good repair and spotlessly clean. Breakfast also good. Can’t find fault at all. Will return.

5 I find the Bluejay very friendly the staff are lovely especially Shantell Alesha & Danielle and very professional, the food is good and cleanliness is spot on

Had a lovely family meal here, the food was lovely and the staff were smiling, polite and very welcoming. We were sat at a lovely table also, nice and quiet and no one bothered us. Good family pub with a small indoor kids area.

Food lovely only moan is mash potato was a bit crunchy, Craige on the server was lovely very helpfully.

Came here for a family meal out, every month we go out for some food, We were recommended this place so we thought we would give it a go. We have not been here before. There was 4 of us, we hadn't booked but we were hoping that they would be able to fit us in. When we arrived we was greeted by a lovely woman who said that we are able to sit on any table that isn't reserved and explained how we order. it was great as we ordered online and it was so easy as we are able to do it our sleds and we didn't have to move a muscle. when drinks arrived really quickly and bout 10/15 mins the food came out and it looked amazing. The food was just as amazing as it looks the staff are so friendly and was on hand to help us if we needed it. We would definitely be returning to this place. You will see us agin soon.

Carvery was good, only downside was the mash "maybe out of a packet ". Took advantage of the %30 off , staff were friendly not too busy as was early PM . All in all well worth the visit 👍

Always great service delicious food lovely atmosphere

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food left alot to be desired. We had the carvery and the meat was very very dry. There was a small piece of each joint left when we went up to get out food, there ws no queue and the pub fairly quiet, so I'm sure the meat was left over from the day before, not fresh joints.

Really friendly staff and also helpful when my dad was a bit confused about options. We were put in a quieter conservatory area which was great for my older parents. However, the chairs in that area were cracked and very tired - they need to be reupholstered. The food was genuinely so delicious and good quality. My dad had the carvery and it looks great. Toilets were clean (speaker was a little crackly in there), they could move the dining table that’s too close to the toilet door. I have already recommended Blue Jay to my friend.

We always enjoy going to the Blue Jay. We've enjoyed Christmas Day in the past. Every visit has been enjoyable. Great time to spend with family and friends while enjoying the carvery. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

I went here the other day with my wife and as soon as we entered the building we was greeted with a friendly staff member called Sammy and she then seated us and explained how it works which was very nice of her my wife had a chicken burger which said was cooked to perfection and I had a carvery and was served by a nice young lad called Ryan who was very nice and thorough which I thought was a nice touch he then stood around and spoke to me briefly while I was getting my veg and then helped me find the gravy all in all a great pub with great food definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back

Absolutely loved it here, everything I ordered came out better than I expected and the staff was very friendly when I asked about the menu and times when it comes to food. Would highly recommend coming here with friends or family!

Food ok had to wait quite a bit and for our dessert I had to ask as wait over half hour and most staff were on a break very poor service

Went for a rare meal out for our anniversary. We ended up bringing our dog Tilly who was made to feel very welcome inside whilst being warm and cosy near the fire. The Food was lovely and staff were very nice and friendly. We will be back with the kids and dog again. Couldn't of asked for a better day. Thankyou

Lovely pub, with excellent service however range of options suitable for vegetarian were limited. 2 of them were also unavailable meaning a member of the party ended up having a selection of sides which was disappointing. An enjoyable evening apart from this.

No greeting when we arrived as all the staff had disappeared. Found the table we had reserved by chance Really good carvery, very tender beef. Could do with a decent cider (just Strongbow on offer). Easy car-parking.

Great staff , good food , nice place to meet family members

Arrived to find that our table had been given to another party. We finally got seated and placed our order. After an hour and half we ended up with no food and we got our money back and went next door to macdonalds.

Went there today. Didn't seem busy but took nearly an hour to be served food. No fried onions on hotdog meal which had a stale brioche bun. Had to wait ages after the meal for nachos only to be served this (pictured) literally the crumbs out the bag. Server came over with red hot onion rings (which she told us) only to be put infront of our 2 year old, we moved pretty quickly before he could touch plate. All food was cold and really poor standard. Service was appalling, even when I told staff. They just don't care here.

Prawn cocktail x 2 was a rip off, very small amount of prawns for the price, small amount of chips on both our meals. Disappointing.

Came to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. From entering the venue to leaving, the staff were welcoming and very helpful. They were on hand to answer questions and were very quick when it came to clearing plates after each serving. My daughter and her friends had a very enjoyable evening. Thanyou

Me and hubby booked last minute very easy to book via website, we were early that wasn't a problem. We got seated at our table. I had beef it was cooked beautifully also there was a nice variety of vegetables thankyou we'll definitely be coming back xxx

Carvery was decent but lacked vegetable variety. Staff argued over moving our table even though 90% of tables were empty. Ridiculous!

Table booked for 5.30 and disappointed to learn that most of carvery unavailable because they had been busy. Left with 1 choice meat. Carvery station then closed at 5.45

Booked in for a festive menu on 29th December to catch up with some friends. Staff were fantastic and friendly food was served quickly and was amazing. Will be looking forward to doing the same next year

Nice place and always cheap to eat

Much better than years ago. Having lived here for 15 years, we used to visit often. Then it changed management and the food was awful for a really long time so we stopped coming. I've since been back a few times now over the past 6 months and it's been much better. Glad to put it back on my list of local places to eat!

Awful trip to the Blue Jay today. Waiting ages for food, then to be told it’s because a table of 18 were in? If that’s the case have more staff on or don’t accept the table of 18 Food was rubbish when we got it too, chips over done, steak was all rubbery with it mostly being fat. Other tables around us were getting the same rubbish! Last time we will be going back, it used to be great

A couple of years ago we had Christmas dinner with you and it was amazing. This year I was so disappointed. The starter was lovely but the main was horrible, I always have fish which was so dry because it was left under the lamps too long and my prawns on skewers where baked onto the stick and I couldn't get them off to eat. I didn't complain at the time as the staff was rushed off there feet. They also forgot to bring out our puddings, after waiting 15 mins or more I asked a waitress where it was only for another waitress to double check we hadn't had it. I know it's a busy time for you all but for what we paid for the meal I'm really disappointed.

Came for boxing day lunch 7 adults 5 children. Split between carvery & off the menu . We all enjoyed our meals & thank you for the childrens gifts of chocolate selection box . Thank You to all the staff .

Lovely atmosphere at The Blue Jay. We were a big party and the tables were laid out beautifully. Everyone enjoyed their Christmas food, it was tasty and presented really nicely. The service was friendly and we had a lovely get together. Thank you Blue Jay Team.

Popped in today for a pint, ended up having lunch ,Carvery was excellent, can't beat it and the wife had a Tuna cheese melt with chips , both meals were fantastic, while we were there nothing was to much trouble, drinks came over to the table , friendly staff as always, even the Manager had time for a chat ,nice one Dan keep up the great work my friend.

Spacious family room which was fresh and spotlessly clean. Nice fluffy big towels. Warm and cosy. Great breakfast and friendly, helpful staff throughout.

I booked a table for 4 online which was very easy to do and I received confirmation straight away and polite reminders with the option and information how to cancel of I wanted to. We had three main meals and were able to use a 30% discount code sent via email mail, and the fourth person had the Carvery which was really nice and the Yorkshire pudding needed a plate of its own. I loved that we could order from our table online by scanning or pay at the bar which we chose yp do. Dietary needs were catered for and all our meals were delicious. I haven't been in over a year but won't leave it so long to.visit again. Staff were polite, professional and very helpful. Wheelchair access was also available as I noticed someone sitting with their carer which was lovely to.see.

A quiet environment perfect for enjoying some lovely pub food. I don't often finish my meals out but I was able to eat the lot! Very much recommend!

Came for 2 small carverys with the 30% off only to be told that a small carvery is not a main meal, even though it does not say so in the exclusions! Had 2 medium carveries instead but not happy with the meal as the veg was quite dry as it had been sitting there for a while , the beef was tough and the mash was dry and the only thing that was really hot was the gravy. The veg was filled up at 5 pm, we arrived at 4.25pm. Not a good experience and don't expect to come back any time soon.
