Nice food ,ambience, and very friendly service. This has become our badminton club's local now, a pint or 2 with scampi fries after a 3 hour session every week.

Went there as a large group and everyone was so accommodating and friendly. Food was lovely and a great price. Will definitely be back :)

This is our local pub and always loved it Visited today for the first time in a while but had to sit outside as the bar area stinks of dog!!! It's disgusting. What a shame as the food, service, staff, ambience, beer is great. It wasn't even a wet day, it was dry. But that doggy smell is just too much in a small bar. Gross. We pay good money for drinks, the dogs don't!!!! Get them back outside only!!! 🤢🤢

We booked a table for four and were happy with our dining experience here. Portion sizes just right, a good choice of meals on the menu and friendly service. We opted for the lighter portions which we found to be generous.

Took ages to get served. Seem lots of local people that seemed to get served straight away. It is a nice pub but is very slow service.

The best Sunday carvery in Derby I go quite often it’s such a friendly place and great value make sure you book though because it gets really busy

1st time visiting after recommendation Went for a cavery ok for what it was. Tasted better Yorkshire pudding , parsnips, and roast potatoes else where.Meat and gravy ok

Lovely local village pub. Its always absolutely heaving inside so if you want a table make sure you reserve. Great ales and food. Portion sizes are massive. Even the light bites are huge so you won't go hungry. Very friendly staff that always have a smile of their faces. We're always asked if we've enjoyed the food and if we're at the bar there's always chit chat with every bartender!

Busy vibrant pub great evening out with family

Friendly welcome on a busy Monday night at this popular establishment, just a few hundred yards off the main road in Littleover. Good selection of well kept ales available. Very busy on the food front, most tables in the "restaurant" side were occupied. Good Beer Guide and Cask Marque accredited too.

Lovely busy pub, in the heart of Little over. Lovely community feel. So friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and home cooked. We had a lovely time for our work Christmas meal

Foid was lovely, quick and good price, service was good. The lady who served us couldn't do enough. Thank you. Steak sandwich/wrap is a must.

Came back again after few months, no table booked, restaurant packed and despite that, we were accommodated to the bar area. Waited a bit for the food, but it was worth the wait. Staff friendly as usual, fish and chips still one of the best but I would also recommend the gammon steak: really juicy and tasty. We will definitely come back !

It depends on how us individual feel and wish for the happy experience to follow from atmosphere of the pub.

Loved the place great choice of ales n beers and great food

A lovely cosy lively atmosphere. The carvery was amazing. Meats so tender, tasty choices of veg, the potato s soft and delicious and the gravy was soo nice.

We went on a busy Saturday evening.. We had booked a table, as we had been told we needed to book well in advance. It was loud & busy when we arrived at 7pm, we were shown to our table with our 2 friends. We read the menu & waited to be served. Unfortunately, we were unaware that the food & drink had to be ordered from the bar, we assumed the orders would be taken at the table. That being said, all 4 meals arrived at the same time, well presented. I had ordered a rump steak, which was nedium, as I had asked for. We all really enjoyed our meals, which were well cooked & presented. We enjoyed our visit, & will definitely be back

Order 2 chicken tikka masalas with everything, and a children’s cheese burger meal. Everything came out wrong, and I mean everything. Waited for it to be corrected and was told “The £49 doesn’t cover the rice and popadoms so that will still need to be paid for”. Curry came out swimming in oil, so exchanged for a lasagne. Lasagne was more of a deconstructed lasagne soup. Fluff and hair was all over the child’s meal, especially on the plate, carrots and bun of the burger. OVERPRICED GARABE. Go elsewhere if you value your money and want a proper meal, ok if you lost your taste buds to Covid.

I have heard the food is excellent, but I was unable to book a table, decause no-one would answer the phone. Iefy a message as requested to, but no one called back Very Disapointed. I won't bother again

Very welcoming friendly staff, good selection of real ales. Especially when a coach load decended on them out of the blue.

Good meal could have been a little hotter if I'm being picky. Good service friendly atmosphere.

We were fit in at short notice. The lady behind the bar was really friendly and very helpful. Had garlic and cheese bread starter which was absolutely lovely. I had fish and chips which was lovely and my partner had a spicy chicken dish which he really enjoyed. A very quaint place to eat . Cant wait to return 😍

They say this place is dog friendly. Ugh. I walked in and a member of staff, rudely and immediately said, "You can't come in with him" (my dog). I didnt have a chance to ask if he could come in. It turns out, obviously, they don't like dogs in the busy restaurant between the hours of 12.00 to 14.00 I decided to try again on a sunny day we sat outside, with the dog, I walked inside and a very nice chap served me to the two cups of tea, delivered to us outside. A change of my opinion - very nice very well presented. There was a gent in the bar with a dog? What!!! Double standards spoiling the opinion. This is off my list to go again.

Great atmosphere, good food just what you want from a proper pub.

Very nice outside garden but it is difficult to get there with mobility problems. Stone steps going down to pub entrance, then wooden steps going up to seated area. So parts of the wooden floor by the stairs were uneven, making it difficult to get up and down with walking srick because the floor wobbled.

Slow service behind bar, the young girl was rude and ignored me at bar, couldn’t get served. Customers standing around , won’t be visiting again.

Came in for Fathers day with 2 other people. The service was great, very friendly staff, and the food was a different class! The best roast I and the two others agreed with me, would 100% come again!

As usual very good. The food is always top notch.

It was kind of a last minute decision to check this place out. A picture of the menu said gluten free options available. I was amazed by how many things I was able to eat today at Sunday roast. They were able to whip up gluten free gravy and said if they had notice they could have made me gluten free Yorkshire pudding.

A free house so always a good selection of beers to go at... Good home food lots of outdoor seating.. A very popular local pub with excellent service. Do not miss going here

Lots of choice. Great food - careful - loads of it! Friendly, cheerful atmosphere and very reasonable prices.

The pub is nice it Does food .But we have not eaten there yet. The food looks nice . Beer is the cheapest we have been in . So that's a big plus . And it's kept well . It can get really busy and loud in the bar but the eating area it's nice if you can get a seat.

A brilliant meal. Good value for money! The staff are always very good and friendly.

Visited today for Sunday dinner with friends. This was our first visit, but our friends have been before and highly recommended we try this pub. Their recommendation was good, as the meal (Sunday carvery) was first class, choice of beef, pork or turkey and an excellent selection of perfectly cooked fresh vegetables. Everything tasted perfect and all four of us agreed that it has to be the best Sunday carvery we have ever had for choice, freshness and value. Drinks service at the bar was friendly and prompt thanks to the always smiling and polite bar team and the pub has a great selection of drinks including an extensive selection of real ales. The pub has a nice warm and welcoming atmosphere and is very pleasantly decorated. For Sunday dinner it is advisable to book in advance as this pub does get very busy due to being so popular.

Really nice vibe and decor... reasonable prices, really friendly staff. Didn't order food but it looked and smelled great. Will definitely be heading there again

Lovely atmosphere with a good mix of customers. Décor and seating are very comfortable and the bar 🍺 area has 2 large TV with sky sports. Food is also served here.

Lovely Sunday carvery, well priced. The dining area was uncomfortable, and tables packed in so difficult to get by people. Not a comfortable place but nice staff.

A really nice pub. Called in again for a bit of lunch and food was spot on and a great selection of real ales. Well looked after by the friendly team.

Very pleasant meal in a small but homely pub.

Arrived around 16.15 and no one was serving, another customer had to shout after few minutes to get attention! Got drinks and sat down, pub not busy at all….happy days. At 16.40 was then told our table was booked from 17.30, OK, no reservation on table but we just accepted that. At 16.45, just as was getting another drink, was told table was booked for 17.00. Landlord stood by and never acknowledged issue. We quickly drank and left. We will not be back. Poor service. Expected better.

Just wanted to make a special mention to the blonde member of staff who was very thoughtful and attentive for my 9-month-old son. We called in mid-week for a meal (18:30, on 01/02/23) and without asking, she was kind enough to bring a couple of cooked chips out for him to nibble on as well as bringing out children's cuttlery. She also gladly provided us with some boiling water which we don't normally ask for. Food and drink all great. All the staff were friendly and helpful, but this lady deserves a mention in my book! Just need to get some Bass on the taps ;)

AWESOME. I'VE JUST BEEN THERE WITH AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN. ALTHOUGH THE PLACE WAS FULL AT LUNCH TIME, it was possible to accommodate us. Fantastic place.

We went for the carvery 22 Jan 23. 🍖: beef was dry, turkey was good (I didn't try the pork) ****Goooood gravy****😁 Fantastic mashed potatoes maybe the best I've had at a carvery to date. 😁😁 Cold Yorkshire puddings 😓 though...which made them chewy and stale tasting. The dining space to is far too cramped, it's not designed for sitting and resting. That said if you don't mind "in and out" dining style it could work for you. The staff were great!

My friend and I booked a table for lunch but we had to wait quite a while before being served. I ordered steak to be medium but it was full of gristle and was more like well done. My friend had a pie with mash which was fine. I was very disappointed because the chef woukd have seen the amount of gristle in the steak before cooking it. It was a shame the pub was very busy which of course it should be at this time of year. I didn't pay for my steak but it spoilt what should have been a nice lunch with my friend

Had the carvery here last Sunday ..the roast potatoes are to die for..if I could award the place 10 stars I would !

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit, food was excellent, good menu with plenty of choice, staff very welcoming and helpful. Had rang to reserve a table in bar as we had a dog and 4 adults, all made very welcome with our furry companion.

We came for a wake and the food was lovely the staff were helpful good beer selection all in all a friendly atmosphere

Booked at table for 3 at 5pm on a Friday (could not do later as they were fully booked) - strongly advise to book otherwise you may well be disappointed. Food great as always and a good range of drinks. £53 for 4 pints, 3 large mains and a pudding - can't go wrong!

Went in a party of fifteen for a meal. Everyone had starters and mains which were all excellent with no complaints. Everyone's courses came out pretty much at the same time so no-one was waiting. Great food and good value in a proper pub atmosphere.

First visit to the White Swan in Littleover. The pub serves pub food classics. But everything was very very tasty. The pastry on the pie was thin and crumbled. The beef melted in your mouth. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and the mash was buttery and smooth. It was all delicious. The pub was busy with good atmosphere but didn’t feel rushed. We will definitely be visiting again. Littleovers’ little gem. Thank you. See you soon.

First time i visited the White Swan was on August bank holiday monday . What i found was a lovely pub with great staff who gave my family and me brilliant and friendly service. the menu in the pub would be to most peoples tastes and comes at a very nice price . all the food we ordered was some of the best food ive eaten in a pub . this is one pub i will be eating ingain.

Had a rather nice Caffe Latte. Pleasant staff . The new colour really makes it stand out at the end of the street. I intended to go there for a meal before too long.

The beer and food are great only drawback is it is quite a small pub and at busy times it is a bit claustrophobic but the atmosphere is always friendly and the staff are lovely, it is the epitome of a friendly local !
