I wasn’t aware of CafeMonde before a friend suggested we meet up there for lunch. It’s hidden away down a little road and very rural and very pretty with great views and, if you love horses, you are in for a treat! It was a beautiful sunny day and we sat outside under the shade of a parasol. I was pleasantly surprised to see several vegan options on the menu and the food was well presented and appetising. I had the vegan hummus platter which was delicious. We all enjoyed our food. There was a good selection of drinks and some nice looking cakes (which we resisted!) Staff lovely and friendly and I will definitely return soon.

I was appalled at the disrespect and dissident care that was displayed by Milo's Café staff. Having driven for three hours, my friend and I were ready for a coffee and snacks. Having chosen Market Harborough as the place most likely to find a café supporting our needs in, as I remember it from many decades ago, a charming old friendly town, despite it being several miles off our route and direction and we chose Milo's Cafe as "looking good". I parked some distance away, time around 3pm. Being disabled, it was a difficult walk to the café. Having queued a while, we were tended by an assistant behind the counter, and as I was ordering, I realised I had left my wallet in the car. I asked my friend how much cash she had, I started to count out my change, we had enough cash between us to suffice our needs. It was then the assistant told us we cannot pay by cash, only by card. I reiterated my wallet with my card was in my car, for me a long walk back and forth. But the rules are the rules, no cash, card only? I told my friend stay there, I will get my wallet and so walked, or struggled, to the car and back. We returned to the counter, I was breathless. I asked what sandwiches she had available, time was now 3.24pm. She said, "We're closed now?" I could not believe my ears, closing time all over internet is stated as 5.30pm. This was Monday 7th April 3.24pm. I was not very happy, I asked why did you not say that in the first place and at least take your street sign in which is part blocking the main street pavement outside of the passage way? I also asked why they were cashless and nothing stated or displayed anywhere. Under principal I will never use a cashless business. The assistant displayed total, lack of empathy, couldn't care less attitude. Disgusting business.

We were visiting family for my son’s birthday and they suggested the red lion. There was 8 of us for dinner … the starters came out and the 2 soups were cold as well as the mussels. My some could not eat the cold soup) The mains came out, well most of them the pan fried cod was tasteless the bean stew was unseasoned and gloopy. My husband unfortunately did not receive his short beef and was offered another meal when we were all nearly finished so declined. I requested potatoes with my main which came out as chips and the onion rings were soggy The female member of staff who I think was a manager seemed completely uninterested when we made her aware of our issues. They came to us near the end and told us they would not charge for the soup and take 10% of the bill The only good thing was the young male waiter who served us We will never return and if I could give no stars I would

Lovely job. After a walk round the beautiful Daventry Country Park, we had worked up the appetite necessary for a tasty three meat Sunday roast and complementary dessert.

The food was okay but nothing special and the plates were barely warm. I had a ‘pan fried’ fish fillet which really didn’t taste or look like it had been pan fried - at least it wasn’t over cooked which was a bonus. The dauphinois potatoes also tasted watery, again it was tepid. The tender stem broccoli was a bit too hard but I know that’s how some people like it. I cannot recall what my partner had but he wasn’t particularly impressed with his food either. Although the food was edible with a bit more thought to food preparation/ flavours and decently warmed plates I would have given 4 stars. Maybe the chef was having an off day but after speaking to a relative who lives locally and has eaten there before, she also found the food lacking.

Honestly, you wouldn't know it from the roadside but this is the cutest country pub in the most beautiful countryside. The food from the Inspirado guys is exceptional with almost everything made from scratch (even the blue cheese dip with the chicken wings!). All of our party agreed that this was easily the best Sunday Roast we have had - the Roast beef was rare and juicy (can be less rare on request), the yorkshires fluffy, light, crispy with just enough 'stodge' and the gravy was awesome made with the meat juice's and red wine along with perfect jacketed roasties and loads of vegs + cauli cheese (homemade). I wouldnt usually take the time to 'gush' like this but this place is truly a hidden gem and not massively expensive either. Might even make a trip there for Thursday Pie Night for £10!

A varied menu, short enough to think it is all cooked fresh to order, excellent service and lovely food. Bells on the table for when you are ready to order. All drinks brought to the table. A real village pub that is totally worth going to - we both really enjoyed our meals.
