Went to The Peppermill tonight, we were let down as soon as we walked into the bar the lady had a very nasty attitude towards us, we will definitely never go again

Love our Sunday Carvery here would recommend 👌

Wednesday is curry night until around 8.30pm. Then bingo in the main room follows this. The darts team play their home games out of the back room.

Booked the function room for a small wake with buffet at lunchtime. The team were very helpful and buffet was lovely. Everything was ready on time and spot on. Worked wonderfully and very grateful for their help as it was tricky to find a venue which had good parking and suited everyone.

A fine "estate pub" on the edge of Daventry with a warm welcome and descent ales. We went afternoon but it was getting busy for Wednesday curry night £10 for two trips and the selection looked fabulous. Made a mental note to pop back when I have more time.

Had the Sunday carvery...a real feast...3 meats and a mountain of hot delicious potatoes, mashed and roasted...loads of veg...and a pudding for a tenner. All served hot be smiley staff in a friendly pub. Definitely one to return to..thanks.

Found this place by accident, we were loooking for somewhere to eat, so glad we did, carvery only on a Sunday 12-4, £10 each. Meat was cooked beautifully,not stingy on portions either, actually asked us how much we wanted, if we had enough, veg were all good, lots of choice, peas, carrots, cabbage, brussels, mashed potato, roasties,stuffing, pigs in blankets & yorkshires, decent thick gravy,(can't bear watery rubbish), & mint sauce, cranberry sauce, mustard, & one other,(can't remember), usually have to pay extra for the pigs, but were included. Three of us for a carvery each, & a pint of doom bar, glass of wine, & a Coke, was just under £40, thought it was going to be at least ten pounds more than that. We alsohad free desserts, but they did say they don't know how long that will carry on for, regardless superb value for money, lovely friendly staff as well, we would be there every week for a roast if we lived closer. It does not look & feel like a traditional pub it has a working mens club vibe to it, but very clean, was nice & cool as well, lovely atmosphere, Thurs,Fri, & Sat they do eat in or take away Asian food as well, we will definitely be going back without a doubt., would love to make it a monthly visit at least. Forgot to get pictures of dessert, cheesecake, & chocolate fudge cake.

Great Open Mic Jam night yesterday we were made really welcome and felt supported and encouraged by the more experienced players. Good beers and great atmosphere. Really helpful as well when we needed it! Looking forward to coming back next month!

Spent a wonderful afternoon here, catching up with family. Landlord was so welcoming, as we're the locals, really friendly and amiable. Lovely outside area under the cover or in the sunny area. Didn't eat there this time, but we'll be back to do just that, as menu looked really good. Overall, a well deserved 10/10.

Just had my first here on a Wednesday night, all you can eat curry for only £9.95. Good choice of dishes, some mild some hot , one extra hot. Will defiantly be back

Service is 5* Family friendly Had a quick Sunday carvery lunch that was lovely. My 3 year old demolished it. Best bit... at the end they offered him a slice of cake and he said he’d like an ice cream. The owner/landlord went to his own freezer upstairs and brought him a mini-magnum. At 3 he probably doesn’t understand how great that is, but as a person with over 25 years worth of hospitality experience behind him... that is excellent service. Very much appreciated, thank you, we will be back and I will tell others about this.

Called in for lunch on a Friday and they only serve lunches on Sunday. Breakfasts had finished and we were ignored for a while. However the chap who did speak to us offered to save a table for us if we wanted to get fish and chips from the chip shop next door, but we would have to buy drinks.

I always use the peppermill as its close to home serving lovely food and drink. Wonderful hosts in Dennis and Andy who make you feel at home and give a warm greeting. Great area for the children to play and seating outside in the extensive beer garden. Food to die for and free WI FI. Give it a try and see what I mean

Brill place to be the whole place has had a good face lifts new toilets the lotp scrummy breakfast and brill prices my kids also love it there the bar staff are really friendly a regular customer here Great bands on a friday night, and they have discos every sat plenty of things to do great land lord a defo 10 out of 10 from me

It was a hot day and so I came in for a well deserved pint. Very friendly staff and varied menu. They do breakfasts and there is a large screen showing sport. Will come bac k again

Popped in around mid afternoon for a quick drink. Ignored by 2 people behind the bar who served someone else who obviously wasn’t invisible and arrived at the bar after us. The place smells stale, is dirty and their dead Christmas tree is thrown on a flower bed outside the entrance to the pub. There were signs up advertising New Year’s Eve and it’s almost the end of January. Left without being served. We won’t be back

Advertised as a carvery, so was expecting meat to be carved in front of us....wrong.....sliced meat swimming in gravy being kept warm in server. Roast potatoes grim, covered in herbs. Veg was frozen carrots and sprouts. Stuffing ok, caulk cheese ok. Pub is very old and smells, but like a canteen layout. Lived in daventry 8 years, second time we have visited, and sorry to say will be the last

Pub needs an uplift as decor is very old Food was ok and good value for money Not a busy place as once was Wouldn’t go back as other restaurants do much better for a slightly higher price

I used TA to find somewhere local to ear while travelling and an "all day carvery" fitted the bill perfectly so at 6pm on a Saturday Evening we pulled into a car park that was almost empty. Walked through the doors over a carpet so loaded with muck and debris it didn't appear to have seen a vacuum cleaner for a week into a completely empty bar. The chap behind the bar said hello and confirmed they had stopped Serving. Something is seriously wrong if a pub is empty on a sunny Saturday afternoon

Looking for somewhere for Sunday lunch haven'i been in here for over 10 years and wow lovely inside, very clean, nice decor and tables well spaced out. The choice of meats and their tenderness is first class and you get plenty as well, there are 5 vegetables to chose from (including an amazing cauliflower cheese) as well as roast and mashed potato - and these are for you to help yourself from. they didn't have any desserts on the menu but to be honest i was too stuffed from my meal. great value for money and the drinks are not expensive either. The staff are friendly and make us feel very welcome. Thank you Peppermill.

The yorkshire puddings were hard and i had a roast potato that was black as charcoal. The vegetables were also soaking in water so when you ate them they only tasted of water. The portions of meat were very good

Attended a wedding reception here on saturday and the place was decorated as couple wanted it Hot and cold food was layed out and was delicious.My children are fussy eaters but even they went back for 2nd and 3rds

We visited on a Sunday lunchtime for a carvery. Cold meat, burnt yorkshires, dry stuffing, and soggy, tasteless, frozen veg. Irresponsible hotplate attendant didn't care that the plates and meat were cold, just gave excuses about not noticing that the heatlamp was broken and running out of plates. 2 other members of staff openly arguing over which replacement heat bulb was the correct one. Finally we got to eat whilst a crew of elderly men were sat at the bar being loud and swearing. Not a very pleasant experience for restaurant prices.

We eat our Sunday lunch here whenever we can - it is brilliant! Every time we come the quality of the carvery is first class, today it was gammon, pork or beef and a wide selection of vegetables, including an excellent cauliflower cheese, and with all the trimmings. Being Fathers Day, The Peppermill was extra busy, but the owners and staff still found time to be as welcoming and friendly as they normally are. The Peppermill is an absolute gem:- we have been to numerous carveries, but can honestly say Peppermill cannot be beaten on quality or value. Thank you to all at The Peppermill!

We've had yet another brilliant Sunday lunch at the Peppermill. The quality of the food is first class; there is a choice of three meats and at least five vegetables and two potato options. Plus all the trimmings. The staff are very welcoming and it is a pleasure to go there. I don't think this can be bettered for quality and value

I work for a charity supporting people with a rare neuro-muscular condition and The Peppermill agreed to host our support group meeting on 5th Feb. The staff were welcoming and friendly, we had our own area in the pub and they even put a spread on for us free of charge. We will be using the venue again in future and I would say it is an excellent family pub. Can't thank Alison enough for having us and enabling our group to meet. Thank you!

More meat than 'go large' at a Toby. Good selection of vegetables, not quite as good as Toby, but very tasty. Well worth a visit.

A local pub/restaurant with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The hosts are wonderful and always have time for a chat and a bit of banter. Great home cooked food at very reasonable prices. Try it!

Met up with my friend at the Peppermill which is about half way between our homes c25miles away. I chose it for the carvery based on Trip Advisor reviews and it was great! Large meal for £8.75! Tables arranged so there is lots of space for people with kids/buggies etc.We got there at the start of service - service was great, staff were friendly - drinks were nice as well!Def would go again

Staff were friendly when we walked in despite being very busy. The food was cooked perfectly with the meat falling apart when we cut into it. Good selection of veg available and we both left stuffed and happy! Awesome meal and awesome service.

Had the all day breakfast last Saturday and was blown away by the amount of food I got for what little money I spent, a proper fried breakfast none of this microwaved sausages and boiled bacon like what you get at Weatherspoons, top notch would rate higher if I could.

been to the peppermill and had the carvery on several occasions now. the food is excellent the staff are very friendly. beats the toby hands down.

we visited here the other day. The decor is tired and needs a serious makeover. The food could do with some attention too as there was nothing special about the offering, it was mediocre and uninspiring though was cooked reasonably well apart from the vegetables that were way too soft and soggy. I wouldn't rule it out but i wont be rushing back either.

Visited here today for the first time.Decor inside is very dated and in need of a major improvement.We both had the Sunday carvery The food was ok on the whole a choice of 3 meats with entry of veg and mash plus roast potatoes The meat was not the best I have tasted but definitely not the worst everything else was fine.Sauces very poor choice and bread sauce very watery Ok if you want a roast for under £9 each as it will do but if you do want quality I personally wouldn't recommend.Please read my other reviews and go to dunchurch The Huntsman nothing can touch this.

The food is fantastic and the pub has a great garden for families to let the kids run about wiles you relax and have a drink the bar staff are fantastic.And for the drinkers this pub is just the ticket with a few real ales on tap it has something for everyone.

first time at pub today we were greeted by Ali and Gary who are great people very friendly and a lovey bar maid who couldn't do enough for us. We had meals from the lunch menu which were excellent value for money and massive Ali certainly doesn't let you leave hungry. There is a great selection of beers/drinks available. The pub is very spacious and really clean with imaculate toilets and a very tidy spacious garden. A very child friendly pub with amble highchairs available for the younger visitors. We will certainly be returning but next time we will be having a carvery as it has come highly recommened to us , looking forward to our next visit.

I came here with my family on a Sunday carvery with my family,The food was all home cooked, Home-made Yorkshire puddings & roast potatoes, All fresh Veg. it was a great atmosphere, good vibes and the food was excellent, would defiantly recommend this to family and friends.

Went to the Peppermill for their Sunday Carvery. I have a wife and sister who are in wheelchairs and needed somewhere suitable. Both Alison & Gary were very welcoming and extremely accommodating, making special arrangements for the "fussier" eaters in our party too. Would definitely recommend; great hospitality, friendly staff and great food. Well done guys.

Went for sunday dinner today for the second time and once agine carnt fault it roast dinner/carvery was perfect very nice pup and people very good prices drinks and food. well worth it going to start going there every sunday for dinner iv been to some very exspenive places and nothink has toped this place best roast iv ever had this place is only getting busyer and will go very far people must try a*******

I held my 40th do in the function room at the Peppermill with about 30 adults & 10 children attending. From the moment I enquired about room hire I found Alison very helpful & flexible in agreeing menu choices, costs, timings etc. We could decorate the room how we chose and move the furniture around and music of our choice was provided via Spotify.The food was brilliant, really good value for money - loads of it (probably too much!) & all the party guests said what a good spread it was. Nothing was too much trouble and the party went really well. I would recommend the Peppermill if you are looking to hold a function, we also enquired at the football club and leisure centre about their function rooms and found the Peppermill to be much better value for money.Thanks again for helping make my 40th do go so well.

Recently we moved to the area, so we searched the Internet for carveries. We found this fantastic place. Generous portions of meat, and all vegetables nice and hot. We definately will be returning again.

Been to the peppermill a few times for sunday lunch and was not Dissapointed today.my daughter came over and decided to take her out to lunch . Lovely well cooked meat and love their coli cheese, such a nice home cooked meal at a great price. Eaten mid week from the menu and that was great to.

After reading the reviews, we thought we would take my Dad for the Carvery on Easter Sunday, as it's his local. We booked a table expecting it to be busy, but there was plenty of tables spare. We had to ask at the bar about how it all worked as there were no signs, we were told to pay at the bar where you receive a ticket, which you take through to the carvery at the back of the pub. The meat is carved for you, although we had to wait a while for someone to appear, you then help yourself to Veg etc. The gravy and sauces are on another table away from the food, which was a bit strange. The meat was gorgeous, very tender, the rest of the food was just okay, the cabbage was sitting in a lot of water, yuck!! Not sure if you could replenish your plate, we weren't told, but we didn't need to anyway. The thing for us was that we didn't like the ambiance in the place, the music was very loud and unsuitable for Sunday eating, the bar area was noisy and people at the tables shouting, probably because of the music and kids running around. Don't get me wrong, I love kids and music, but it just didn't feel right. It had a community centre feel, no cosy atmosphere, we couldn't wait to get out. It's a shame because the staff seem lovely and friendly and we really wanted it to be good, but it's not for us unfortunately.

My wife & I went to see Sonia Leigh on Saturday 28 February, this was our 1st visit to the peppermill even though we have lived in Daventry for 8 years. The choice & quality of the beers us very good, the staff were friendly & efficient, the pub was clean & the staff cleared away the empty glasses regularly. The down side to the Peppermill is it was more like someone's front room with young children(under 5) running around in front of the performer's even at 22:30,more so was the very young Dad(18ish) with his jeans round his thighs & the obligatory baseball cap on acting even worse than his toddler son, it ruined watching the performer's. Having read other reviews I guess this is a common problem. Its a pub at night not a nursery, shame as it could be a good pub.

Had steak and chips to eat, I don't like salad and mushrooms etc that came with the meal.The lovely landlady obliged and cooked me extra onion rings and an egg to go onto my steak at no extra cost.. brilliant service and value for money, lovely staff and a great steak.I can highly recommend this pub.

Would just like to say my partner and I along with two friends had a Sunday carvery and enjoyed it very. Everything was cook perfectly and very good value. The staff are polite helpful and professional in their work. We shall defiantly return. Thanks PEPPERMILL

we have been to the peppermill for sunday carvery four times since the new owners have taken over,well done to all concerned.for turning this pub with a bad reputation around , its now getting to be known as the best eating place in daventry for good home cooking and friendly service.you should all be proud of your achievement .

My inlaws visited on Sunday and we decided to take them to the Peppermill for a carvery, rather than just settle for the usual processed meals offered in some other local pubs. I have to say it was a fantastic experience! Greeted by the happy and helpful staff who helped organise our table and made us feel welcome.We purchased 4 adult (2 of which were vegetarian) and 2 child meals.The Carvery had a wide range of fresh vegetables, roast potatoes, and home made Yorkshire puds! The meat was cooked to perfection, and the portions were extremely generous! The reason we tried the carvery was because a week previous we had popped in and eaten off of the normal menu, and I do not say this lightly, however it was possibly one of the nicest steaks I had ever eaten! (And I've eaten a lot of steaks in my time!)Give it all a try, you won't be disappointed !

We took our residents here for their Xmas meal nothing was too much trouble for the staff catered for all the different nutrition needs of our residents food was aplenty no waiting time inbetween meals, all staff were accommodating to our staff p.s beef was the best I've ever tasted! Will return again

Having never eaten at the Peppermill I thought it might be worth a try for our office Xmas party. So pleased I made this decision, the food was excellent, piping hot and good value. The staff made us so welcome and nothing too much trouble, all ladies present enjoyed themselves. It felt very private for us, with no noisy customers, just nice background Christmas music.Will definitely return. Thanks to management, staff and of course the cheerful chef.

I visited the peppermill last night for my works xmas meal, I have to say that the staff we're very helpful and friendly. The meal itself was excellent value for money and all hot. They also supplied us with a disco free of charge which made it into a very enjoyable experience. I would recommend this venue to all and will certainly be visiting again.
