Very good food and the staff are very friendly

Disappointing visit. Food was cold and item missed from one plate. Ordered dessert which was all frozen - stated on the menu that the custard element of the trifle baked Alaska was frozen …. Which was fine but the whole dessert came frozen … and I couldn’t even push my spoon through it. When I complained I was told it should all be frozen and that staff are told my head office how to cook meals and the instructions for this dessert were to serve frozen. I cannot believe that anyone would enjoy eating frozen sponge, raspberry sauce and meringue …. I requested a refund. Average food …won’t be rushing back. Also put ice cubes in a milkshake !

The parking is easy and the place is clean with a good atmosphere but oh dear the food I had was a full English. Blackened bacon, rock hard sausage and nearly toasted toast. I did return the sausage which came back in another dish. It had been microwaved to within a inch of it life and the hard bits removed. I did mention it to another waitress who smiled and said sorry. This was one of my good places to eat but no more. My wife's scampi was ok though.

I took my daughter and son in law for lunch. They both had burgers, and i had roast beef. The man taking the order was quite funny, and he asked(?)if anyone had any allergies. Incongruously when the food arrived, my daughters plate had scampi on it! Maybe knowing the kitchen as he did, putting strange things on meals, thats why he asked if there were any allegies! My beef was really tough, but i ate what i could, having paid for it. Sorry, will not be going back again

Food was not great ordered salmon sizzler it was frozen and just sloppy mush. Its cheap and cheerful for a beer but wouldn't eat there again.

On top of that, the service was incredibly quick, so we didn't have to wait long to enjoy our meal. Overall, it’s a lovely spot for good food, good value, and fast service.

I love my food

Had a mega breakfast today. The food was good, but the eggs came with a fair bit of grease. The pub itself is quite nice with a good range on the menu and at the bar, with a limited range of craft beers too. Could do with a bottomless coffee option with the breakfast like many of the other pubs offer, but that's a Green King issue rather than locally. Caters for children in the beer garden and also has an 18+ area for those of us who like to have a meal/drink without little ones running around. Big positive - well done. Overall, the environment is welcoming, but there are signs of age/wear and tear with the decorating, but to be expected, I guess. The walls need a bit of paint reapplying and would look great again. We were served by Di, she was a delight to be around. Always happy and friendly. And always goes out of her way to make sure you get want.

We enjoyed an evening meal here after a long day out. We were seated and served quickly. The food was good and hot, the staff very pleasant and the prices very reasonable. Would def recommend!

It's pretty average for a Hungry Horse. The food was ok, and the service was ok, however the kitchen is pretty slow, and your orders will take a while to come.

Sorry to say but I took my friend daughter here for lunch today. We ordered via the app cheesy garlic ciabatta for starter what we got was cheesy garlic bread and took 30 mins from placing order on the app. Next was our main we had the same meal so both ordered Chicken New Yorker from the super specials. It was disgusting, chicken was burnt, coleslaw tasted of earth, chips god knows what they did to them but there was no potato in looked like been cooked 3 times and chicken didn’t taste right, texture was off. The whole meal was cold. When bought to staff attention after looking for them she said the chicken was cooked and it was burnt where caught the grill, she asked if wanted redoing but due to the wait we had, how the first meal came out we had our money back for the mains. She did apologise but to little to late. Whilst we sat having our drinks before leaving a family complained of the times food was taking to come out and another lady sent her food back, when they left she had hardly ate the 2nd attempt of the meal I’m frustrated as we have had food here before and was really good.

Me and my Dad came for breakfast today. Food was very good. Portion size was brilliant and the staff were brilliant. Food quality is good and hot. The staff are friendly too :) checking to make sure you're happy with the food, particularly a lady called Petra! Cappuccino was excellent.

Loved the Lamb Kofta, it was a good portion size.

Good food, very reasonably priced & always get a good service here. One of the best Hungry Horse pubs we've been to. Di was especially helpful on our last visit, explaining changes to the menu & use of Tesco Clubcard vouchers, which we really appreciated

Booked a table. Went to order drinks was kept waiting for 15 mins while everyone else walking in got served first. We ended up going elsewhere and they lost over 100 in food and drinks

Took the family out for a treat. It was a fairly busy evening and kids eat for £1 which we didn't realise, but it was a bonus. The food took a while but we did have a group of 5 with all different stuff including a mixed grill, the staff were really lovely and worked really hard to keep people happy. I have to say I was really impressed with the food and the service here. Everyone left happy and had a full belly and nobody complaining, with 4 picky eaters that is a win for me and it all came under £100 with desserts as well which includes 2 of those ridiculous sharer ice cream sundaes ( both the boys didn't get the memo about sharing so little sister had to get a dessert of her own 😂) Great fun had by all though. We will be returning soon. Super family dinner.

Really great place with really nice food for everyone. The staff really nice and helpful. If you have the green king app you can reserve your table and order food and drink without getting up to the bar just give the app your table number. If you not an app person still fine to order at the bar. 😉👌🏻 there is an outdoor play area and tables outside for the nicer days. Plenty of parking on site and wheel chair access. Highly recommend this place. Will always go back!!

Great food, service was great and they brought out all of the children's meals first which is always a winner! Good value for money!

So my whole table ordered starters and mains. I just ordered a bacon and cheeseburger + Dr pepper zero. Drink arrived fast, then 40 mins later still no food, everyone else had everything. We raised it and they eventually got it to me, with a vague explanation of confusion being caused by everyone having starters, no actual sorry for the wait.

No clue on the place really. Marked down as it didn't offered what it said. Went because we were close and it said shows sports but alas, it doesn't. Looked like it was doing well for Sunday dinners though. Gave 3 stars service as the chap at front of house tried to offer somewhere else.

We stopped on our way from visiting family. We have been to the Steam Turbine a number of times, but today it wasn't such a good experience. The chips were not cooked inside, neither were the fries. The service was quick but maybe a bit more cooking time of the chips would be good. Thanks

Pleasant pub for cheap food and drink. Often busy with children at peak times. However, later in the evening the pub is much quieter.

Very welcoming staff by Jason, Natalie and Charlotte. Even though it was one of the hottest days of the year. They all managed a smile and went out the way to have a chat. Food is always excellent, hence returning here many times and I can use my Tesco vouchers for the food. Atmosphere only got four stars as it does need Aircon.

A great meal for the family. All the food was cooked well, we ordered on the app which made it easy and the food came quickly. Clearing the tables a bit quicker would be the only thing we would comment on but otherwise, the service was friendly and professional.

My family and i are a frequent visitor here, it has amazing food , very nice employees and an amazing atmosphere, the only bad thing is sometimes there are little children running around screaming!overall i would definitely recommend it!

Typical family pub restaurant mind and check the deals for the day. Only reason for 3 star as partners steak was well done when asking for medium rare. Good parking and lots of shops around. Servers are super helpful and you can use your blue lights card. We ordered using the app and the service was very quick.

Fantastic service as always. Mia was very patient when we were at the bar and was more than happy to keep changing sections of our order due to our own misunderstandings within our party with no complaints, was also very helpful with the ordering process! Jason was also very helpful! as always and both are a credit to the team. Food nice and affordable with it coming out quickly. Lovely place to eat out

Went last week, was advised a 30-40 min wait for food. Which was OK. We ordered our drinks on the app and waited 30 mins for that. And then waited 1 hour 15 mins for the food. Mine was over cooked, my husbands was missing elements of his burger, and my sons was ok. They never did a check back so unable to complain. But then did we want to wait another hour for them to fix it??? The card machines also went down and the staff member I was being served by had no idea how to deal with this ( I had no cash on me) so took someone else to come over and show him how to send the order without payment. We paid just before we left. No overly impressed I'm afraid.

Normally, i d be singing the praise for here, but we were sorely disappointed with everything. We place our orders at the bar. 2x orders, and the second order came before the first order by sometime. In fact, the meals were almost eaten when the first order came. I chose the Sunday dinner, a free drink in the price?? Not offered, we had to ask, and made to feel like we were in the wrong. The meat was dry//hard, no mash potato, came later when asked staff. The veg was hard. In my opinion, it was a complete waste of good money A total change to what we thought was a good food pub.

Popped in to have a quick drink in the garden after a very long walk in hot weather, just me and my dog. Conversation was as follows: no dogs allowed. Ok I’ll order and go into the garden. Have to order on the app. I don’t have the app. Download it I have no wi fi- I’m not allowed in the pub Can’t serve you then Is that the way to treat customers who would have come back for a meal and more drinks? Terrible way to treat people

Cheap and cheerful place to eat! The staff here are really attentive and friendly. Chatty and professional. Quieter on Sunday morning early for breakfast, food was good.. Good value, the staff are the asset here! Excellent customer service. Cheers all!

It can be a bit of a hit or miss place. I've been a few times sometimes the food is nice and hot other times it's cold so it's up to you on what you want to do

Family evening meal that included 8 month old baby. Nice quiet and comfortable venue with plenty of other families eating too. Spacious place and not cramped on our table nor immediate area. Not noisy at all, nice range of food options served by friendly, courteous staff. We enjoyed our food , portion size was bigger than other places we have eaten at..and the atmosphere was very pleasant in the Steam Turbine. Have eaten there before and will be back again....Looking forward to the Christmas menu!

Plenty of staff, but a number of them didn't seem to be working very much. Now self-service for cutlery and condiments. Food is well prices but soft drink prices are expensive; a pint of pineapple juice and lemonade £5.05, pint of coke £2.90

Always a nice friendly pub. We meet up with old school friends as the Steam Turbine in central for all of us. Well priced food with some great offers. Look after by Petra always with a great sense of humour and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Have been here a few times & never had a bad experience, however today was awful. I attended with my daughter & 2 granddaughters. The staff were miserable. , which caused the atmosphere to be horrendous. I asked if I could order a side of garlic mash, (my daughter has dietary issues and can only eat pureed foods) I was met with an attitude,and was initially was refused the mashed potato, but she went and spoke to the chef, she then came back & proceeded to inform me that he would do 'it this once only' (this is our usual order here at least once/twice weekly) as it's a new menu & for cost reasons would not do it again!! (This is microwaved mashed potato)!! I informed the server that If this was the case I would be finding somewhere else to eat in the future & she didn't care. I'm so disgusted in how something that is on the menu, is being refused for someone with dietary issues. Will not be going back. The staff here did not have half a smile between any of them & they seriously need a major crash course in customer service. I get that we all have bad days, but the staff here was verging on rude. We ate part of our meal & left.

Quick Service?? Within 5 minutes (MAX) our food was on the table, My partners Jacket Potato was stone cold one side, dried out onion rings, over cooked sausages, soggy chicken & the chips must have been gathered from plates gone back to the kitchen. We very fortunately will not be returning.

Went for lunch with family and enjoyed the garden with our dog. Staff very friendly bringing water and a sausage for our pooch! Would recommend but be aware that only assistance dogs are allowed inside

Service was absolutely lovely and quick even when busy and full of people. Unfortunately a group almost ruined the evening with my family by shouting and being obnoxious and abusing a member of staff (DI) verbally. Was unwarranted from the group and Di kept her calm and handled it very well.

We always enjoy a visit to the Turbine, especially after a few hours shopping! Service is friendly and food is great value for money. Now the weather is better it’s nice to sit in the garden.

Got there,table for four,excellent service, personally had Steak & Ale pie lunch,tasted absolutely wonderful,definitely going again in the near future no hesitation.Highly recommendations if you require excellent food & service.
