Cross Roads in Daventry

We stayed here for three nights. Met up here with friends as we live a long distance from other. Agree with other reviews in that the hotel is very tired, rather scruffy and in need of a complete refurbishment !! However also agree with other reviews that the staff and food were very good indeed!! Would stay again.

Have not been here for a few years as in the past (Several years ago) I was dissappointed with the service. But I have been hearing good things about this pub so we decided to try it again. It is very cosy inside with real fires and a good atmosphere. The staff were attentive and catered for a food intolerance very helpfully. Our server (Josh) is an asset to the team and was super helpful. The food was good value and tasty. I can tell that this is now being run much more efficiently and I would 100% recommend this pub if you are in the area.

Myself and my husband went for Sunday lunch. We were greeted by Kris who then showed us to our table. He was friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing cooked by Paige, little Paige and Chyna. Highly recommended 👌

The service at the Crossroads is always Amazing. Suki especially is an excellent asset and she always goes above and beyond for me every time we stay there. SHE IS GREAT! also Kris and Zoe also looked after us very well. Look forward to staying there again! Well done guys.

Stayed at the hotel and used the restaurant and bar. The food was very nice, the menu was good. The whole experience was made even better by the friendly staff, one of the female staff called Megan was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, she served with such a smile and made such a fuss, I saw she was the same with other diners.. I can honestly say, this is the worst hotel I have EVER stayed in, and I’m 52 and well travelled! It was disgusting. We had a room in the basement area on it STANK like it had been cleaned with some industrial mould cleaner or perhaps it had flooded. It was so bad. There was only half a headboard and paint peeling from the walls. I couldn’t stay with the smell so I left after about an hour. The reason it’s cheap is because it’s DISGUSTING. Don’t do it!!!!

Visited this Chef and Brewer pub/restaurant/hotel on a Saturday lunchtime. Was ignored for 5 minutes despite staff being in the bar area! Bo welcome just the tiresome 'are you alright there?' Waitress came to take drinks order but there was no Peroni non-alcoholic lager and no Ginger Beer? The place was being refurbished was the excuse! No idea why that should be relevant but I was given a similar response when visiting another Chef and Brewer pub (The Britannia). Service was friendly and food was good but experience was disappointing. Must try harder..... there is always an alternative option.

First time here, walked in and thought how pretty and welcoming the bar and restaurant looked. I attended with 2 friends and all went for the Turkey dinner. I have no ther words than SHOCKING! The dinner was served within 5 mins of ordering. The pigs in blankets looked like they had not seen the oven, the Yorkshire was so hard I could not get my teeth through and the whole dinner was stone cold. We did send back, but the second one although was hot was not much better, very dry tasting. I do not usually write reviews but I was so disappointed and have never tasted anything so awful. The waitress was polite and helpful but chef needs some serious training.

We stayed overnight for 1 night. We had a great experience during dinner and breakfast, staff were excellent, especially Suki. She was exceptional.

We booked a table here last minute after a stressful day following a family death. Found the staff to be very cheerful, friendly and helpful, and everyone though the food was delicious. It was just what we needed to lift our spirits, and would like to thank the whole team for their excellent service.

Packed eating area, so i expected that it must be popular for a dining experiance. While the place looked graet and the service was great, the food was below average compared to similar places. 1 meal was sent back as it was overcooked (burnt), roast potatoes and mash not seasoned, steak and ale pie had the smallest amount of filling i have seen in a long time. I have eaten better food for half the price in most local eateries. It is a shame that the food lets this place down on this day.

Absolutely brilliant time, we arrived at 3.30, had a drink then nibbles. We had an evening meal and stayed until 9pm. The staff were so funny and nothing was too much trouble. Sue told us about Blenheim castle, so all booked for a day out

Served by Morgan this evening. Food was ok standard Sunday lunch. No roast carrots 🥕 🤨and had unfortunately run out caulicheese. Service excellent, happy confident young lady nothing was too much trouble hope if and when we return we will receive the same attentive service.

At first I was unsure of the booking system ( impersonal ) but all changed as we was greeted by Morgan and Karen showing us a lovely table, Morgan taking our drinks order then giving us time ordering our food not hurrying us at all. All our food came out together and hot, Morgan was attentive but not overpowering. The food was absolutely amazing as was the service we would all be returning again for sure if it means being greeted by Morgan and Karen which made our family dinner more enjoyable. Went for a meal with friends, From the start, we felt welcomed by the lovely Sue. The atmosphere was cosy and cheerful. The food was also amazing. Different price ranges to suit all pockets and the variety of the menu was simple through to something different. We will be back and hope to be served by the lovely Sue again. She made the visit. So different to other pubs in the area.

Four of us arrived we had starters, mains and puds. Sharing board was very good, and Korean chicken starters were also excellent. Mains were great too. Steak cooked to perfection. Megan our server was excellent and attentive ensuring our time there was an enjoyable experience.
