This is another hidden gem. The breakfast is exceptional as is the service. Dogs are welcome. The log burning stove adds to the warm atmosphere, dispelling the winter chill that can exist in a converted barn.

Said breakfast was till 12noon online. We arrived 11.45 to be told that wasn't the case. Disappointing as we had driven for miles. Then the waitress said lunch wasn't served till 12 (so what were we supposed to do for 15 mins!) and was generally a bit off with us. She also said no where near there did breakfast that late. HINT: Granny's cafe 5mins away does and it was beautiful.

Have been planning to celebrate CNY with afternoon tea, and I'm glad I've found this barn cafe. Amazing atmosphere & high quality food, also dogs friendly. The only downside was that we were arranged with a table right next to the toilet door, away from the barn area, not sure if it's because we got a dog with us. Overall it's a pleasant experience.

Such excellent value & 5* absolutely delicious food that you would not get in a 5* hotel. I have been to the Barn on numerous occasions & eaten lunch, cakes & had afternoon tea with a friend & each time the food has been top quality & such good value. Thanks so much to Dan the chef/owner, Rachel his wife & the girls that served us. See you in January & Merry Christmas Tracy

Really top quality sausages and bacon with a couple of eggs, plenty of mushrooms, beans and a big hash brown. All perfectly cooked to order. Coffee came promptly while we waited for the food. Friendly service and food came without a long wait despite it being a busy Saturday morning. Will definitely be returning.

The plan had always been to come to the cafe after our last visit of the year to the bluebell woods at Everdon Stubbs but we arrived somewhat earlier than expected due to heavy rain. We were surprised that we were able to snag the last available table - just after 1pm on a Friday and the cafe was full. The menu is interesting - a good choice without being over long. 2 of us had the smashed avocado on sourdough toast with a poached egg and roasted tomatoes, 2 had ham egg and chips, and my 8 year old grandson had fish finger, chips and baked beans (the latter is always a huge favourite with a French child!). The food was excellent, my hot chocolate was good (more stirring next time please, I ended up with chocolate sludge) and the wide choice of cakes was also delicious. We'll definitely be back - but will reserve next time, just in case!

Nothing is a problem here, they cater for allergies and intolerances with ease and reassurance. The afternoon tea is INCREDIBLE 🤤, it’s really good value, presented beautifully and of course…delicious. It’s that good I’ve had 3 afternoon teas here this year 🤭🐷. I have a gluten allergy and they cater for this with ease, I have pretty much exactly what the “normal” afternoon tea is and never feel left out. It’s always so fresh, and the scones …served warm, and irresistible. We’ve had take out from here too and spoilt the mums to afternoon tea. Cosy relaxed atmosphere, they are always busy so it’s a nice chatty casual environment. Thank you for all your hard work, it’s a real gem x

This was my first visit whilst on a cycle ride with a buddy. It is a regular stop for many cycling group rides so I was keen to see it for myself on a cold foggy day in November. It has a nice atmosphere and can be very busy so beware it is not always easy getting a table and the service suffers as a result. I enjoyed a large pot of tea and a cake (plenty of choice) whilst my friend had a coffee and bacon and egg roll. The prices seem reasonable considering everywhere seems to be raising prices regularly to keep up with inflation and heating costs. I will certainly return with my wife to try a different choice of food.

The Old Dairy Farm Centre is a place I've visited a few times - a great place to find good quality and, frequently, unique gifts, set in a converted farmyard in the lovely Northamptonshire countryside. It has a charming, rustic feel but is entirely modern in terms of its business and facilities. The same might be said of The Barn Restaurant, which forms part of the complex. It is cosy, inviting and friendly. Prices are fairly standard. I noted that there have been some comments about the speed of service. Admittedly, it's not lightning-quick but then I don't feel it's the sort of place you'd expect to attract people on-the-go, who can't wait a few minutes here and there. It's a homely café in a rural crafts centre, for goodness' sake, not a business-lunch hotspot in the city. There is a good, varied menu including snacks, breakfasts, sandwiches/toasties, baked potatoes and other hot lunches. There is an impressive array of homemade cakes available. I have actually eaten here a number of times and have tried a cross-section of the above. All have been of good quality, generous and nicely presented. The chorizo hash with crushed potatoes and roasted veg. that I ate on the most recent occasion was absolutely delicious. The cakes are quite inventive and outstandingly good too. I also appreciate the fact that the tea is served to you in a pot with a proper bone-china cup and saucer but the design of each is entirely mix-and-match. A modest quirk, perhaps, but I'm sure I'm not the only one easily enough pleased to enjoy it.All in all, I'd say that The Barn is, perhaps, rather more impressive in terms of food than you might expect from a cafe in this kind of setting.Highly recommended.

We asked where our breakfasts were and were told there is only one person in the kitchen and he is dealing with a backlog of orders, it didn't seem particularly busy to us. Why didn't someone come and explain this to us instead of us having to ask? When the food arrived it was very good however I asked for my eggs to be fried until the yolk was well and truly set they didn't manage this.
