I met friends here on a weekday lunchtime. The last time I came here was almost thirty years ago when my children were small so this was a very nostalgic trip! We all had something different for lunch- quiche, salad and chips, butternut squash ravioli and baked potato with coronation chicken. We then finished off with tea and cakes. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We were served by the most delightful young man who was polite and charming. It was so good that I’ll be back this week!

Lovely Little Cafe in a charming spot in the countryside. The cozy interior, with its vintage decor and friendly staff, makes you feel right at home. Their menu features delicious, fresh food. The breakfast options are very good, and the coffee is top-notch. The outdoor seating area is great for enjoying a sunny day surrounded by beautiful scenery. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy a tasty meal in a peaceful setting.

Myself and 11 colleagues visited The Barn yesterday and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea. Despite being a large group, Rachael and her team looked after us wonderfully! We were offered hot drinks and tea on arrival and these were regularly replenished for us! The food was served promptly and Rachael took time to tell us personally what everything was. Great variety of sandwiches and pastries to suit all. Cakes were absolutely delicious. Everything served on the cutest tableware - we particularly loved the elephant tea pot! Cannot fault anything and would recommend to all! The price is a complete bargain for this tasty treat!

This is the second time (begrudgingly by me) that we have met friends here. The place is absolutely bitterly cold. Even today,it’s warmer outside. Last time we were seated by the toilets (whoever made that decision needs a rethink) which is even colder. This makes the whole experience unbearable. Others had a big breakfast. I had the veggie breakfast which was hugely disappointing. 2 ‘veggie’ sausage shaped things. Dry,tasteless and very strange. One hash brown and a handful of mushrooms and peppers. Toast was at an extra cost. I’m always baffled by the lack of options as a vegetarian. But beans and maybe potato slices? Both cheap, but tasty and much more satisfying than my very sad plate. At almost £10, I feel robbed. Both in my wallet and my belly. Thankfully, we won’t return and will go to a fabulous farm shop not too far away. Where I will actually enjoy my food and feel full.

This is another hidden gem. The breakfast is exceptional as is the service. Dogs are welcome. The log burning stove adds to the warm atmosphere, dispelling the winter chill that can exist in a converted barn.

Said breakfast was till 12noon online. We arrived 11.45 to be told that wasn't the case. Disappointing as we had driven for miles. Then the waitress said lunch wasn't served till 12 (so what were we supposed to do for 15 mins!) and was generally a bit off with us. She also said no where near there did breakfast that late. HINT: Granny's cafe 5mins away does and it was beautiful.

Have been planning to celebrate CNY with afternoon tea, and I'm glad I've found this barn cafe. Amazing atmosphere & high quality food, also dogs friendly. The only downside was that we were arranged with a table right next to the toilet door, away from the barn area, not sure if it's because we got a dog with us. Overall it's a pleasant experience.

First time to this Cafe and I can say that the food was good but the coffee was not the greatest tasted burned and watery not good for a latte or cappuccino ... The service was slow and other patrons had table service where we were ignored ... 2 customers who came in 15 minutes after us were waited on and we were forgotten or ignored ... we had to go up and order at the counter ... that being said the food was good and the venue was clean

Such excellent value & 5* absolutely delicious food that you would not get in a 5* hotel. I have been to the Barn on numerous occasions & eaten lunch, cakes & had afternoon tea with a friend & each time the food has been top quality & such good value. The plan had always been to come to the cafe after our last visit of the year to the bluebell woods at Everdon Stubbs but we arrived somewhat earlier than expected due to heavy rain. We were surprised that we were able to snag the last available table - just after 1pm on a Friday and the cafe was full. The menu is interesting - a good choice without being over long. 2 of us had the smashed avocado on sourdough toast with a poached egg and roasted tomatoes, 2 had ham egg and chips, and my 8 year old grandson had fish finger, chips and baked beans (the latter is always a huge favourite with a French child!). The food was excellent, my hot chocolate was good (more stirring next time please, I ended up with chocolate sludge) and the wide choice of cakes was also delicious. We'll definitely be back - but will reserve next time, just in case!

Food came quickly and my sandwiches and home made chips were amazing!!! This place is amazing, I’m so glad it’s local to me! The staff are so lovely, even when they are understaffed, your are still served with a smile and they regularly check if everything is ok. Nothing is a problem here, they cater for allergies and intolerances with ease and reassurance. The afternoon tea is INCREDIBLE 🤤, it’s really good value, presented beautifully and of course…delicious. It’s that good I’ve had 3 afternoon teas here this year 🤭🐷. I have a gluten allergy and they cater for this with ease, I have pretty much exactly what the “normal” afternoon tea is and never feel left out. It’s always so fresh, and the scones …served warm, and irresistible. We’ve had take out from here too and spoilt the mums to afternoon tea. Cosy relaxed atmosphere, they are always busy so it’s a nice chatty casual environment. Thank you for all your hard work, it’s a real gem x

Order taken on scrap of cardboard, this resulted in not knowing what we had eaten when trying to pay our bill.. had ham, egg and chips wanted HP sauce but was very concerned when a thick black line was on the back of the sachet... obviously out of date.... on looking more a further 12 sachets were out of date... person i told didnt seem to be surprised so perhaps normal!! cakes given all squash in paper bags, alot of grease had soaked through bags on getting home... The whole cafe seemed very dirty. Tables very close together you could hear other peoples conversations, maybe have background music playing to give some atmosphere. Used to eat here a lot a few years ago although i know it had changed owners so wanted to see what it was like now. My partner and I came in for lunch with our dog. The food was nice, i had a sandwich and my partner had a jacket potato. however the whole experiance was ruined by the owners child running riot around the whole restaurant, constantly banging doors, thumping up and down the stairs, running round with display items, throwing paper plates about and smashing the cups and saucers with a broom. This was my first visit whilst on a cycle ride with a buddy. It is a regular stop for many cycling group rides so I was keen to see it for myself on a cold foggy day in November. It has a nice atmosphere and can be very busy so beware it is not always easy getting a table and the service suffers as a result. I enjoyed a large pot of tea and a cake (plenty of choice) whilst my friend had a coffee and bacon and egg roll. The prices seem reasonable considering everywhere seems to be raising prices regularly to keep up with inflation and heating costs. I will certainly return with my wife to try a different choice of food.

Although the wood burner was in operation downstairs the upstairs was not cold. I ordered tea and chocolate cake this afternoon. It was a whole cake and had not yet been cut into. It looked very tasty. When it arrived on the plate I was surprised how greasy it looked. I couldn't carry on eating it. It was like a sponge cake soaked in oil. I went indoors and asked the waitress if it has been cooked using oil? She replied that it had. It was in the recipe. On further enquiry I discovered that the other cakes had been baked using butter. The waitress wasn't at all bothered when I said I didn't like the cake. Won't be returning!
