The Pytchley is our local and it is fabulous. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is always delicious and great value. Sunday roasts are fantastic value and very tasty.

We have visited the Pytchley for more than 36years to meet relations and have an evening meal. Due to driving restrictions this now has to be lunchtime. Our visit the other day was as good as usual, food excellent and service by Christina prompt and efficient. We travel over 25 miles to get there and will continue to do so. During the many years we have never experienced a bad meal and on one occasion when the meal took a long time Jim the owner noticed and refunded our food cost, that is what I call old fashioned service !

We turned up without booking on a busy Sunday lunchtime. We were welcomed by the staff and enjoyed a leisurely excellent meal. The staff were wonderful. I hadn't been to west haddon for nearly 30 years but will make a point of going on every possible occasion to The pytchley. I recommend that you make a visit.

I have always found the service at the Pytchley Restaurant efficient, speedy and the food is always delicious especially the Steaks!! The staff are always friendly and go out of their way to accommodate you even at short notice. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant! Keep up the great work!!!

Our visit to The Pytchley Inn was a major letdown. After placing our order, it took 30 minutes for staff to inform us that some of the food we’d chosen was unavailable. We adjusted our order, only to be told 15 minutes later that more of our choices were also out of stock. During all of this, four different staff members repeatedly came over to ask if there was anything they could do, but their only excuse was that they were “under pressure” – even though there were only four tables occupied at the time. To try and make amends, they gave us two £15 gift cards and took the drinks off our bill. However, this didn’t make up for the disorganized service and overall disappointing experience. Looking at the latest reviews, it’s clear our experience wasn’t an isolated issue. Sadly, we won’t be returning anytime soon.

Had high expectations for the food as this restaurant was recommended to us and we were unsatisfied. Dull atmosphere & not a very cosy restaurant. Has an awkward layout & did not feel comfortable. Would not recommended to anyone. We felt like we were being watched whilst we were eating and kept being disturbed asking if we had finished our plates whilst we still had food in our mouths. Starter was awful, wings smelt off both which put us off & could not finish. Main course steak & chips were okay. You get a choice of salad or roasted veg, we got the veg it was boiled garden peas, 1 mushroom and half a tomato, was very plain. The only thing we enjoyed most the peppercorn sauce! :( Would give the food an overall rating of 6/10 it was the atmosphere & service that ruined it for us.

The Pytchley catered for our bike group Christmas lunch this year. They gave us our own room and a nice set menu. I had without doubt the best steak pie and chips I can ever remember. Service was good and would definitely use again. Overall a great experience. Recommended.

Couldn't fault the place.Had a lovely lamb Sunday roast served by charming and efficient staff.

Booked night for a friend who had an interview at 8am the following day. Travel plan were scuppered by the snow and freezing conditions and a call out by RAC. But at every update the team were so kind, considerate and nothing was too much trouble. The night team greeted on arrival at 11pm (9 hours later than the expected arrival). Staff even offered to plate up a meal as last orders are 9pm. Breakfast was hot, fresh and served from 7am. Perfectly fitting with checkout at 7:45am. Room was great value, clean crisp sheets and lots of hot shower water. Would definitely stay again.

Friendly welcome, cosy English pub with reasonable rooms and decent steaks for dinner. Good location if you’re working in Northampton or Crick areas.

Suprise dinner for my mums 60th. The staff were very helpful and on the ball. No issues at all. Food was top notch shall definetly return in the future.

Third time at this delightful pub. Superb service, friendly staff, excellent food. We each ordered something different and all three meals were great. A lively Sunday lunch crowd, we hadn't made a reservation so we didn't get the cosy bar side dining but the staff managed to fit us in the larger dining room.

Celebrated our grandsons 1st birthday with family. We were a large group. The service, staff and food were second to none. Had a warm welcome by Tracey and her staff who were extremely attentive to ensure we had an amazing time.

This place offers good deals and Sunday roasts after lunchtime. The drinks took a while to get ordered, but we got there. The steaks were very good and great value with the house wine. After deliberating on our puddings, we went for the jaffa orange ice cream sundae. It needs a make over, it's not huge and it's not elevated enough. This is a good steak house. If we were served Korean drinks faster, we would've drank more! Good place to eat 😁

The Pytchley never fails us. We have visited recently with friends from overseas, who loved the place. The food, the friendly staff and the overall atmosphere…all lovely. We visit as a couple often as this is our local. The food is always delicious. The biscoff cheesecake is the best I have tasted!

Have previously had good eats here. Always a warm welcome and good pub grub. Went back for another of the delicious risottos, but this time it was like savoury rice pudding and totally inedible. I can only think that it was a different/novice chef who would actually add cream to a risotto! In fairness to the staff they offered me a replacement meal which I declined but they wiped the drinks from our bill. It was a shame as I’d been waxing lyrical to my veggie friend who was visiting with me, about how good the risotto was. Thankfully she opted for the veggie burger instead. So full marks for customer service but real food needs a real chef.

Took my Mum for a very enjoyable birthday meal. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. I'm vegan with food intolerances so don't usually enjoy eating out. Nothing was a problem for them. They even put a candle in Mums ice cream and three of the staff came to the table to sing happy birthday to her. I look forward to going again.

Pytchley Inn's staff are some of the most accommodating professionals I have come across. Natalie was superb in changing orders from sit-in to to-go, providing a table and free snacks to two travellers in a hurry. On top of that, they serve one of the tastiest liver pâté I have ever tried. Hand on heart.

Enjoyed a lovely evening in the bar area for a pre-booked weekday family birthday celebration dinner. Serving staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout the evening including a surprise candlelit piece of cake for the birthday. Enjoyed excellent main meals and drinks. We have been before and will return again. Recommended.

Visited this evening alway loved the Pytchley, haven't been for a few years we hadn't booked but got a table in the bar, I had salmon husband had fish & chips, both meals were lovely, but we wasn't asked it our food was ok, and our plates wasn't cleared so wasn't asked if we wanted a dessert, had to go to the bar to ask for our bill, staff seemed to be standing around and paracetamol was on the bar so maybe someone had a headache 🤔

Popped in for a steak, frankly the place is very tired, I get the traditional vibe. But something was off. Opted to get a starter before ordering mains due to some reservations about the food. Glad we did. The Camembert starter was shocking, salad looked about 3 weeks old, dry and leaves were tired and almost looked as if they’d been half eaten by slugs, with holes in. Safe to say we didn’t get as far as the mains. Such a shame as used to love coming to the pytchley for a good old fashioned meal. But something needs to change. Until then you’ll find us elsewhere.

We had the steaks 6oz fillets an 8oz and the roast pork Sunday lunch all exceptionally cooked. The peppercorn sauce is that good you could eat it in everything. I literally licked the plate clean and didn’t even feel guilty about! The staff were very kind and thoughtful and I would like to thank Rachel, Joel and managers Nat & Phoenix for looking after us and also going above and beyond and sorting the take away for my father. We LOVE THE PYTCHLEY 100% recommend for any occasion.

Unplanned visit for Sunday lunch, first of all the staff are so lovely. We both ordered the Sunday Roast Turkey and it did not disappoint. Served hot with side dish of nice vegetables. This was definitely a delicious meal and we will most certainly return. Beautiful, tasty food served by lovely staff.

Called in on way to Northampton to watch the football. I asked what their most popular dish was so i went for it. It's by far the best pie I've ever tasted and I've had a few. Home made with plenty of meat inside. My mate had the Tenerife Chicken, which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. Great staff, we were looked after from start to finish. I'll be popping in again when in the area.

Came for Mother’s Day and we were all really impressed with the food. I love a pie and I’m very fussy when it comes to having them in restaurants, but the steak and ale pie here is beautiful. The roasts were lovely too and came with lots of fresh veg to share. Service was great, they were busy but it didn’t affect us at all. We’re definitely going to come back soon!

Stopped for a meal and a drink after the local walk. The walk passed through some stunning countryside. The Pytchley Inn provided an excellent experience. Service was brilliant. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and the beer was a great way to end the day. Highly recommend to all.

This was our first visit to the Pytchley despite living locally. First impressions were amusing as we were greeted by a gentlemen receptionist, mouth wide open, fast asleep behind the desk. Not wanting to wake him we just walked through to the bar and were given a table in the dog friendly area. Being a Friday lunchtime we were surprised by how busy it was, which shows how popular it must be. We had purposefully come here due to the lunch deals so were disappointed to learn that they had run out of all bar one option. Instead we chose to have a baguette along with a side of fries each which, once arrived, were a huge portion and tasted good. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our lunch and the bill was fair so we looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Lovely Sunday evening lunch, after a beautiful Sunday watching our sons play football we decided to visit the Pytchley Inn. This village pub has always been a favourite of ours and probably one that we take for granted. Huge car park with plenty of space, Welcoming team and shown to our table quickly and easily. Starters were fantastic, pytchley mushrooms, garlic mushrooms and a prawn cocktail, food arrived quickly and was super tasty. Two steaks for mains, a mixed roast and a roast turkey, all delicious and tasty, plenty of veg and trimmings for the roasts and the steaks were cooked to perfection. Eaton mess was tasty, well presented and delicious! If you’re in the area or looking for something special give the Pytchley a try great value and fantastic staff who will explain the menu and look after your requirements.

Recently enjoyed a dinner with club member colleagues and partners at The Pytchley Inn. Our booking for twelve was pre-reserved and we met as arranged at the bar for drinks before our seating in a private room for our meal. The room was ideal for us to dine and chat. We had pre chosen our dishes in advance which were most enjoyable and our servers were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. A very pleasant evening.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Pytchley inn! The room I stayed in was spacious and clean, everything well looked after and the staff are super friendly! Breakfast was fantastic and was served by Wendy who really brightened up my morning.

Staff are extremely friendly, and do a great job.The food is tasty and the menu caters for most tastes.

Family meal...we communicated back and forth but not all info seemed to have reached the right parties. My steak was delicious with a fiery peppercorn sauce and all of the sides were lovely. Camembert starter was huge! Roast meats were good but the veg were all a bit bland and beige and the roasties were soggy. Service was attentive and excellent. Side room for our large party and making a squarish table instead of a long thin one was lovely. Xmas music got too loud for my child (Sen) but staff were very quick to rectify which was very much appreciated.

Just went for a Sunday roast dinner. Although the food tasted great, the amount of food was an insult for the price. We have never been so underwhelmed at a roast dinner before. Long story short, 1 carrot between 2 adults, 1 slice of meat, no horseradish with the beef and no mint sauce with the lamb when advertised is criminal. Avoid the small roast dinner at all costs and the regular is not worth £4 more for 1 more potato. The kids mini roast advertises 1 slice of meat, suggesting an adults dinner should be at least 2 slices. You'd get better value by ordering 2 kids mini roasts each totalling £15 instead of paying £13 for what can only be described as the smallest unforfilling roast dinner I've ever had. Left still hungry when should have felt full and ready for a snooze. That classic Sunday dinner feeling. Feel ripped off and insulted and can't believe I didn't say something whilst in there.

We visited for lunch one weekend. Staff were friendly and the food was good. Toilets were very clean too which is always a bonus! A lovely pub in a gorgeous village.

We had my mum’s wake at The Pytchley Inn and it was absolutely perfect! 100 people attended and were given the choice of a variety of savoury finger foods, cakes and cheesecakes, tea and coffee (the bar was open for anyone who preferred something a bit stronger) . The staff, as always, were very attentive and made sure that everyone had enough food - which there was copious amounts of! There was no chance of anyone going hungry! A big thank you to Tracey, Christina, Emily and the team - you were all amazing!

My husband found blue hand paper under his meat, he put it to the side of his plate, we complained, the waiter then put his finger on the plate and wiped the towel away. We could not believe what we saw ! They couldn't make a new meal as the chefs had left for the evening, the only option was to have a clean plate and have the meal deducted from the bill. I feel that the staff need more traning, the waiter was only a young chap and I really felt for him.

We’ve just been for a meal for my sister’s birthday. After having to ask for menus, 20 minutes later we were told our order didn’t go through and food we ordered was now unavailable. After an additional 40 minutes we were still sat hungry, at least 4 tables who came in after us had their food and finished. We had to call someone over to order more drinks which 15 minutes later didn’t arrive. By this time we were fed up so walked out with a hungry 1 year old and a very upset birthday girl! As we walked out the manager thanked us!! after watching us sat there for an hour! Poor management and customer service, we will not be returning.

We stayed overnight on our way from Scotland to Dover. West Haddon is near to the M1 but the village is quiet and the Hotel situated on the Main Street. The room was comfortable and the restaurant food was very good. Staff were all very friendly and efficient and breakfast was very nice.

What excellent value the Pytchley Inn is, good selection on menu, very 'eatable & quality food' served by courteous staff. The 'Small Plate' idea is ideal.

I don't normally write reviews but just wanted to give a shout out to The Pytchley. It was excellent from start to finish. I called up last minute yesterday to see if they had a vacancy, I didn't have access to book online at that point, but was dealt with brilliantly by Natalie, who reassured me she would keep the room until I arrived, a couple of hours later. Arrived, was checked into room 23, again super efficiently by Natalie. Had a meal in the restaurant which was was lovely and service was great. I also noted that the staff were taking their time to train and walk through new members of the team with patience and care, whilst not diminishing the quality of the service in any way, great work. Breakfast super, and the overall experience, one I would recommend. I will certainly stay again when next visiting the office nearby. Well done all!!

We were out for a family meal as we were recommend to try this pub but were left very disappointed. Service was poor (had to keep asking for drinks, ask for a steak knife for a steak whilst it got cold, ask for cutlery to eat the meal after using for starter, etc) and had to return a meal with several others also being left as the food wasn’t great (halloumi burger was really bad). Meal returned was struck from the bill but at no point were we asked if the food was ok and had to raise it with the manager ourselves so by the time it was re-done everyone else had finished their meals. Not sure if a bad night or usually like this but would not go again and wouldn’t recommend.

Highly recommend this little gem. They quickly took us in when we had an issue with booking.com double booking us at a local cottage with our dog. We were recommended to stay here by the cottage owner, and she certainly put us in a wonderful place. The staff couldn't do enough for us. The room we stayed in was really clean, modern and had everything we needed, they also came to make the room up, gave us fresh towels and fresh water etc. We also enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant, again the staff couldn't do enough for us. They also made our little dog feel very welcome ☺️ On the Sunday of our stay, we decided to have lunch in their garden (which is enclosed, which again was good for our dog as she wasn't near the road). The Sunday lunch is recommended! As we travel to Naseby every year for a dog show, we will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends.

As guests at a golden wedding celebration we stayed for 2 nights, dining in on the Sunday. The room was very comfortable with a luxurious, 6 metre wide bed. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. A nice place to stay.
