The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

We visited the Black Bull agin today for lunch with good friends. I have to say that we are never disappointed. The food is absolutely fantastic, and really good value for money. Staff and Management always make us feel welcome, and ensure we are very well looked after. We (all of us) would highly recommend this establishment, for meeting up with friends, or indeed a special occasion.

We came here about 4wks ago on a previous holiday when it was pretty quiet. This time it was a good job we booked a table as it was buzzing,we both had fish and chips with mushy peas. It was served to us quite quickly,the fish was beautiful but the chips were rather well done. Looking around a few people were expressing the same thing about the chips. It doesn't put me off coming again,this is why I gave them 4stars .Till the next time, Paul & Karen not forgetting DeeDee our black lab x

Amazing food! Lovely atmosphere. Had a lovely pint to wash it down. Will be definitely coming back here again with the kids next

Absolutely amazing, best fish and chips. We drive 45 mins to have lunch here on a Tuesday. Battered chips are lush. Great staff!

Delicious lunch. I had ham and cheese baguette. Crunchy bread and chunky ham. My friend had leek and potato soup which she said was wonderful with tasty fresh granary bread. The oatcake with cheese and onion was also highly rated. Loos were clean.

Vicki and Marcia gave great service and food was great thankyou we came with our little girl and we had a lovely time, fantastic mid week offer on aswell 40% off mains :)

Customer service is very poor. We arrived - there is no welcome, you just find a table, pick up your own menu and then you wait, for a very long time, while being overlooked and ignored. Others orders were taken next to us, there was not even an acknowledgement of us being there, for example 'I'll be back with you in a couple of minutes' - just nothing - totally ignored. We eventually got tired of seeing other tables served and orders taken and simply left, so I cannot comment on the food or drink, as we had none. Customers appear to be the lowest on their priority list - no-one seems to have specific roles, it looks like everyone does everything whenever they want. Very poorly managed. This is the second time it's happened. We felt we would give them another chance, but got exactly the same treatment second time.

the pub is lovely realy old world charm staff very helpful and welcoming the food was good but the veg were so hard it was inpossible to eat them I dont like my vegetable soggy but do expect them to cook them this di spoil the experience I would have rice if I went againwhich is doubtful

Catering supplied to our home for a family birthday party. The quality of the buffet was excellent, delivered on time and well received by all our guests. We could enjoy the occasion more knowing the catering was sorted - many thanks to Becky and the team

Basic food and over priced for what we received. Steak pie a few chips and a small pot of peas for £16.95. Would have been presented better with a plate of mixed fresh vegetables. Very disappointed.

Used toilet before eating.... Chose not to bother... Toilet disgusting, sanitary bin overflowing, no toilet paper... Staff disinterested!!

We’re from outside the area but visited in a group of 5 whilst visiting family. What an excellent find! The food was top class (and piping hot!), the service was prompt and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I very much hope to return on a future visit.

Very accommodating to fit us in at the last minute and the food was delicious! Highly recommend.

Just back from a wonderful 3 night stay at The Moon. Can only say it was amazing from beginning to end! The welcome and service from Josh and his team was brilliant. They remembered us from our previous stay and made us feel like family. The food was 1st class from a very enthusiastic Chef who delights in making sure everything is OK. Our accommodation had everything we needed and more. If you want a happy cheerful Pub with great food and drinks this is the One! We look forward to going back soon.

We went here as pip stop before going to Lincoln. Clearly very poppualr, it was really busy but we found a table. The lunch options were endless and really tasty. I loved all the options for the herbal teas too.The staff were really friendly and the food was amazing.
