Lovely coffee in a lovely little park. The staff are always happy and willing to help and they offer a nice range of nibbles (hot & cold).
Have visited many times amd always reveived great service.
Have been going to Kathy's for afair number of years now. Originally the Tearooms at Brook Farm, Repton. Now situated at Betty's Farm, Willington, and everything is as was. Food is still the best in the area. My wife and I go at least twice each week and every time we come out 'full to pussy's bow', and very satisfied. Food is good, well cooked and neatly served. Kathy, being a vegetarian, is also noted for her vegetable sides. We had 1 different veg. one Sunday lunch time, inc. Roast and Mashes potatoes. The only downside is that she is closed Monday and Tuesday. Can be very busy on a Sunday, so definitely book ahead if you are going. If you want a Breakfast, normally served to 1130, and you arrive a bit late, if she isn't too busy she will still cook you a breakfast. If you want Black Pudding as an extra, it will be fetched fresh from Betty's Farmshop, the other side of the forecourt.
My daughter and 19 friends visited Bingham back yard for ice cream, mocktails and tango ice blasts. They really enjoyed the food, drinks and surroundings. Thanks very
Much to the team for being so accommodating.
We didn’t eat in we had a delivery it was disgusting my nan bread was swimming in grease ,the chips was vile the chicken was raw never again will I go there again £20.00 chucked down the drain ,it was horrible
The Farmhouse Kitchen is not the sort of place that will attract much casual passing trade; it is beautifully situated in a remote spot, a few miles west of Middleton in Teesdale, on a dead end road so, other than a few walkers looking for refreshments, the only clientele will be people who know it is there, and who are prepared to travel to it.
Don’t let any of this put you off though, the meals are excellent and the portions generous.
Sunday Lunch is strictly pre booking only, and choice limited to roast of the day, plus a vegetarian option. All food is home cooked, freshly prepared and absolutely delicious.
Our roast beef came with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, carrots, cabbage and swede, followed by home made apple crumble and filter coffee or tea.
For those who have not booked, or who do not want a traditional roast dinner, there is the choice of All Day Breakfast, or various options of pies, chips, gammon, sausages, chips and sandwiches, cakes etc.
The service is friendly and efficient, and the location, in a converted farm building, is very comfortable and welcoming, situated in a very pretty valley with open views of fields and hills all around.
We will be back soon!
2 things to bear in mind though: the opening times are limited to Saturday and Sunday only, Easter to October, and they do not accept card payment, which could be a problem when the nearest cash machine is 1/2 an hours drive away!
