George's Fish and Chip Kitchen in Nottingham

We had the best service and the food was delicious. We had a bit of a wait for our main course but this was spotted before we pointed it out and it was rectified immediately. We would definitely visit again.

The wife and I had the cod in curry batter with chips and mushy peas it was excellent one of the best fish and chips meal we had tasted in years the service was excellent and the people who served us were so friendly, we will definitely return

Went for lunch yesterday, as not being in the last 2 years, as the last time we went the chips were terrible with the skins on , but we decided to give it another go and was really impressed . The cod was lovely and the chips were just like chip shop chips and with a slice of bread was great. The place has not changed since it first opened, very clean and not very busy yesterday. Would go again after the visit yesterday.

I booked this restaurant a few months back advising I was bringing my son and his friend to a show in Nottingham for his birthday and would be keen to eat here beforehand. Booking online was very simple and had include a note to say if it was possible to make reference to his birthday it would be appreciated but not expecting anything. The excellent staff made sure we had a fantastic evening recognising it was his birthday by seating us in one of the beach huts and giving us hats to wear, they also presented my son with a doughnut platter that include a Happy Birthday message which was a nice touch (and the doughnuts are excellent by the way, kids will love it as served with candy floss!). The food was great, as the restaurant describes is it, good old tasty British food and prices are very reasonable. I would thoroughly recommend.

I live in the USA after previously living in Nottingham where all my family are. I was visiting family over the Xmas period and caring for my grandmother that has recently been diagnosed with dementia through Alzheimers disease. I am very close to her.We had a table of 3 booked at George’s on December 27th for 3 people, however I believed this to be on December 28th. The table was for my partner, my Grandma and me. When we turned up on the 28th we were informed of the miscommunication with regards to the booking but the staff accommodated us brilliantly and provided us with a table immediately. Particular help was given by Beth in this instance, so I send out my sincere thanks to her.Throughout our meal we were given excellent service and my Grandma was accommodated really well, even though she has trouble hearing, walking and seeing. Staff treated her with great respect and patience. I was blown away by the service we received. Here I would like to Thank Faye, she went above and beyond what should be expected of her.All in all Geroge’s has been a favorite of mine when I lived in Nottingham and this continues to be the case. The food is always excellent, but on this occasion I was overwhelmed and so very impressed by the front of house staff.

Amazing food, great staff. The double cheese burger may be board line unwieldy in size but the taste is amazing so order it anyway! Really nice juicy meat served with some of the best chips I’ve ever had and by some really great staff.The cocktails are hand made and cider is the good stuff, though they do have a berry one for those of that disposition.

We booked online for nye we were a party of 5 adults and 3 kids I'd made a mistake when booking on line I'd booked 2 I stead of 8 but the staff sorted it out and we were seated quickly.It took a little while to order our food but we put that down to it being a busy night when the food came there was an issue with one of the meals but the staff sorted this out quickly.I'd give the restaurant a 4 out of 5 but I bumped it up because of the staff they were all excellent very good with the kids sorting issues with out any fuss and generlay just being very helpful.I'd like to go back and try the dessets we were all to full from mains

Totally legit British food at its best. The fish and chips were to die for. We cannot wait to come back and try the other delicious courses.

Me and my partner came here after another restaurant was fully booked- and I’m so glad now that they were! We were quickly shown to a table as our waitress- Faye- introduced herself and explained the menu having never been before. Being a waitress myself, I know the importance of being helpful and friendly without being too ‘over the top’- this waitress had it perfected. We both opted for the chicken in a basket as it sounded (and was) incredible. The chicken came in a lovely lemon batter with sweet corn pancakes, bacon, coleslaw chips and chipotle mayo. (Only small issue my partner had was there was only three finger-sized pieces of chicken- however the rest of the meal more than made up for this). They had a good selection of drinks and cocktails and we shared the Apple and Caramac crumble for dessert and it was just enough.

We decided to go here because it was nearby but when we got here it was amazing so a real no brainier. Don’t judge a book by its cover but with this place you really can. The service was very friendly, it was a lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent. You get a lot of food with your order so come on an empty stomach. I had the chicken burger which was amazing. Definitely go with friends.

Fish and chips in a beautiful old building. You can dine in a beach hut too. The menu is very modern along side the traditional. A nice choice of local ales. A little over the price you'd at at your local chippy but worth it for the experience. Good table service and well cooked food.

Always nice fish every time we go, quite expensive but I think it’s worth it. The ice creams are amazing!!
