Super rock bar. Discounts on gig nights and very attentive staff. Definitely will be back whenever attending a Rock City gig.

Great pub, fantastic pre concert atmosphere. Lots of like-minded people waiting for gig doors to open. Amazing rock pictures and artwork adorn the walls. Staff are friendly, and service is quick even when the bar is Jam packed. I will be returning for sure.

Good atmosphere with like minded people (rock pub),great juke box and regular bands on at weekends. Plus very close to Rock City venue.

Fantastic. They've got a sik pinball machine and had a Ps2 set up (some of the games didn't work but there was 2 pads and guitar hero with 2 guitars) Would be sick if they put some more 2 player/better games out but I guess there's a chance they'd just get nicked...I'd recommend you take the risk. 😉 Bangjn' booza, always has been. Usually got a pool table set up too when there's not live bands on!

Cheap and cheerful! All the staff are wonderful, friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is always top notch. Fab range of drinks too. Would recommend, especially if you're looking for an alt/metal bar!

Cheap drinks! And they have a good student deal (15% off!) the atmosphere is nice and they host nice gigs ! There is pool table available to play in and decent space to sit. The smoking area is a bit small and it can get crowded however other than that is a great place to spent time with friends

Alternative pub playing rock music-hooray! Attentive bar service. Lilley's mango cider on draught. Very clean. Live music. 10% off some nights with Rock City ticket. A proper institution. Possibly the only pinball machine in Nottingham.

Popped in for a beer before our gig at Rock City. Lively place with a good selection of beers.

Can't fault this place, called in last night after Massive Wagons & had a great end of the night, music was banging, staff great & good clientele.

Only popped in for drinks but a truly awesome venue. Has some great live music and a great vibe.

After arriving on a relatively quiet night the barman served four separate sets of customers who arrived to the bar after me so I decided to go elsewhere for a beer.

Great bar, no band on that weekend but good music playing. Very busy with a good crowd of people. Staff were a bit stressed could have done with a couple more behind the bar. Great choice of beers.

Really great bar, leaning even further into the rock vibe than it did 25 years ago. The perfect place to stop for a pint on the way to a rock gig.

I can't rate the food as we went for a drink prior to a concert at The Royal Concert Hall. I was very impressed by the barman who was extremely helpful and despite being very busy he was relaxed, friendly and served everybody efficiently and equally. We stood at the bar enjoying the upbeat atmosphere. There was a good selection of drinks including about 10 on tap. We could've had a game of pool and a sit down on a variety of stools, comfy seats or benches. The decor was fun and overall a very inviting and warm pub.

Popped in for a pint prior to going to a gig , first time in and was surprised , decor is what you expect for a metal/rock bar loved it , looks like plenty of free rock shows ie bands playing so definite plus. Most definitely going to revisit and make a night of it . I now don't have to travel to the Dev in Camden to get a good rocking night out 🖤☠💀🤘P.S didn't eat and don't know if they have a menu hence no stars

Great pub for metal music. Just be aware there are no bouncers or door staff, and they basically let anyone in. Including people that will actively steal tables off of people who were already sat at them, and the bar staff do nothing about it as they aren't qualified to do so. If you have a busy pub in the city centre, bouncers are a must for people's safety.

Turned up to watch Metal to the Masses heat 6, which my son's band Smskara was playing in. Had a great night with some very talented bands and a great atmosphere and a good showcase for new bands...

We went for the pinball and stayed for the music. Pinball- wrestlemania machine in relatively good working order. The balls went a little haywire during a multi ball and got jammed in the plunger chute. All the flippers and bumpers work. You can have a good game. Music - no idea what band we were listening to but they were excellent. If you're looking for a rock venue this is the only place you'll want to go. Seating is comfortable and people in the bar were friendly. Pricing is lower than we were expecting.

A great place to drink in Nottingham, when we return to the city we shall definitely be back.

It can get busy at times, but it's not a bad experience. The toilets are in need of a spruce up, and air fresheners wouldn't be a bad idea 🤔

Great place to hang out with alternative and metal/rock lovers. Has live music for free every weekend and has a PS2 with games such as Guitar Hero and Resident Evil.

Great rock bar not far from Rock City. It had live music although we could not see the band from a lot of the places due to the shape of the pub. That aside it was rammed with punters all into the same kind of music and the atmosphere was fantastic. Really enjoyed a couple of hours in here. Staff were great and friendly too.

Didn't eat but saw a gig (band my son is in .... Azure....... they're great!) Great atmosphere, EXCELLENT venue for live music, people really welcoming. Had my mum with me who is nearly 80 and not in great health, and she was treated so kindly. Good choice of beer aswell. Top marks.

Metal as F! Just a brilliant venue for all things rock, punk, metal and alternative. It's where the weirdos, goths, misfits and misaligned all gather, or as I refer to them 'the normal folk'. Visiting from London where sadly these kinds of pubs and venues are seriously dying a death, it was a brilliant find and an instantly welcoming and relaxed vibe from the staff and locals. One of the best pubs in Nottingham based on Rock' n Roll & Metal! They host concerts every week. Many great bands have played at that venue! Also, the environment is really friendly and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Do give it a visit if you're a fan of rock & metal music! 🔥

WHAT a GEAT night. Fabulous live band and amazing music after. The dance floor was packed. Great if you like live hard Rock and alternative 80's music. Will most definitely return.

Great pub, a well known haunt for Goth/Punk/Metal fans. Meet some really cool people here in a chilled out atmosphere. Friendly bar staff, main room downstairs with another room upstairs.

Great (hard) rock music, live and "from tape". Good drinks (didn' t try the food). Why not replace the flag above the bar with the peace flag - that should be in the interest of all people?

Really liked it. Friendly. Decent music (if you like rock - who in their right mind doesn't?). Rocking a rock aesthetic. Felt very comfortable. Saw a gig at The Theatre Royal - came back here after for a cheeky Guinness before heading up to Bedfordshire! Sweet dreams.
