Great place, love the atmosphere and live gigs! Staff is extremely friendly and courteous, beer is reasonably priced and tastes superb at a perfect temperature. Great selection of spirits, awesome shot bundles! Favourite place in Notts, a ‘must visit’ for all rock and metal fans🤘🏻 Been back and it’s still amazing 🤘🏻

Great pub for metal music. Just be aware there are no bouncers or door staff, and they basically let anyone in. Including people that will actively steal tables off of people who were already sat at them, and the bar staff do nothing about it as they aren't qualified to do so. If you have a busy pub in the city centre, bouncers are a must for people's safety.

Turned up to watch Metal to the Masses heat 6, which my son's band Smskara was playing in. Had a great night with some very talented bands and a great atmosphere and a good showcase for new bands...

We went for the pinball and stayed for the music. Pinball- wrestlemania machine in relatively good working order. The balls went a little haywire during a multi ball and got jammed in the plunger chute. All the flippers and bumpers work. You can have a good game. Music - no idea what band we were listening to but they were excellent. If you're looking for a rock venue this is the only place you'll want to go. Seating is comfortable and people in the bar were friendly. Pricing is lower than we were expecting.

A great place to drink in Nottingham, when we return to the city we shall definitely be back.

It can get busy at times, but it's not a bad experience. The toilets are in need of a spruce up, and air fresheners wouldn't be a bad idea 🤔

Great place to hang out with alternative and metal/rock lovers. Has live music for free every weekend and has a PS2 with games such as Guitar Hero and Resident Evil.

Great rock bar not far from Rock City. It had live music although we could not see the band from a lot of the places due to the shape of the pub. That aside it was rammed with punters all into the same kind of music and the atmosphere was fantastic. Really enjoyed a couple of hours in here. Staff were great and friendly too.

Didn't eat but saw a gig (band my son is in .... Azure....... they're great!) Great atmosphere, EXCELLENT venue for live music, people really welcoming. Had my mum with me who is nearly 80 and not in great health, and she was treated so kindly. Good choice of beer aswell. Top marks.

Metal as F! Just a brilliant venue for all things rock, punk, metal and alternative. It's where the weirdos, goths, misfits and misaligned all gather, or as I refer to them 'the normal folk'. Visiting from London where sadly these kinds of pubs and venues are seriously dying a death, it was a brilliant find and an instantly welcoming and relaxed vibe from the staff and locals. One of the best pubs in Nottingham based on Rock' n Roll & Metal! They host concerts every week. Many great bands have played at that venue! Also, the environment is really friendly and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Do give it a visit if you're a fan of rock & metal music! 🔥

WHAT a GEAT night. Fabulous live band and amazing music after. The dance floor was packed. Great if you like live hard Rock and alternative 80's music. Will most definitely return.

Nice place, good atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Local gigs held here are fun but the pillars and beams in the middle of the venue are not ideal for viewing.

Great pub, a well known haunt for Goth/Punk/Metal fans. Meet some really cool people here in a chilled out atmosphere. Friendly bar staff, main room downstairs with another room upstairs.

Great (hard) rock music, live and "from tape". Good drinks (didn' t try the food). Why not replace the flag above the bar with the peace flag - that should be in the interest of all people?

Really liked it. Friendly. Decent music (if you like rock - who in their right mind doesn't?). Rocking a rock aesthetic. Felt very comfortable. Saw a gig at The Theatre Royal - came back here after for a cheeky Guinness before heading up to Bedfordshire! Sweet dreams.

Popped in for a pint prior to going to a gig , first time in and was surprised , decor is what you expect for a metal/rock bar loved it , looks like plenty of free rock shows ie bands playing so definite plus. Most definitely going to revisit and make a night of it . I now don't have to travel to the Dev in Camden to get a good rocking night out 🖤☠💀🤘P.S didn't eat and don't know if they have a menu hence no stars

I've been here a few times now and would highly recommend this pub. If you enjoy rock music then this is the place to go in Nottingham without question. Close to the Rock City concert venue and handy for a pre concert refreshment. They have a great selection of beer and spirits at very reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would go as far as to say that the Tap and Tumbler is the best pub I've ever been in. As a pub should be.

The place has good music and a nice selection on taps, but the overall feel is that unless you're one of the regulars, what are you even doing there. The staff stare, the regulars stare and while we've tried the place a couple of times now, I doubt we'd go back really. Unless maybe we wanted a drink before a play. Nottingham has a few places that play rock/metal and while this one has full potential, the music really is good, but Sal is friendlier... and cleaner if I'm honest.

Loud music and reasonably priced booze... What more could you want? :)Within walking distance of rock city and the Ramada hotel.... Will definitely be returning soon

Excellent Rock pub, really lovely staff, serves food and also is a venue for bands. We stayed in town for Rockingham and the bands were staying opposite. Lovely atmosphere.

I had a geocaching event in town while here with my husband who was on a business trip. I had contacted the Tap & Tumbler through their website and got a quick response. They were very accommodating and when we arrived in town I walked over and gave them a headcount of 20. The bartender showed me where we could sit and meet and it was then that I realized there was no food. I was coming here for a meet and greet with some locals but it was going to be around dinner so I figured we'd eat here as well, I was wrong. I ended up with about 25 for my event which most of the locals had been here before and thought it was an odd place for a geocaching event but they too enjoyed it. The clientele as they came in were dressed in punk type apparel and it was fun to see the outfits. The beer was great a nice choice and it was quiet where we sat. I'm glad I got to the Tap & Tumbler and I think they were happy with the revenue I brought in.

Called in with work colleagues, we were all staying in the hotel next door. Was really pleasantly surprised at how friendly and helpful the staff were. I was feeling a bit under the weather, but had a fabulous jacket potato that really cheered me up ( sad I know) . Great value for money and very good atmosphere , would visit again.

My visits to the Tap n tumbler are always fun. The friendly barstaff are always ready with a warm welcome. The pub has a lively bustling atmosphere which seems to attract happy people. There is always something musical going on with live bands, open mic nights, guest Dj's, singing, dancing, gloryhole and much more. It truly is the best pub in Nottingham!

This pub was right next door to our hotel and once changed and ready met up in here. The welcome and real ale was very good, they also played rock/ metal music!! so good went back at the end of the night

Called in here as we were staying across the road in the crown plaza and were comping back from Spendour. Great juke box. Decent selection of beers at the bar Sizeable place with plenty of booths/seats. Would like to visit again.

A wonderful, accepting environment is cultivated there, which I know many many pubs around the area do NOT have. People having a lot of fun on the dancefloor. Easy to get along with the fun and friendly barstaff and also the patrons. Best meal of fermented carbohydrates I ever had, haha! Cheers!

The Tap and Tumbler was a great stop after the show at Rock City. It is very close to the venue. We met some great people there, the service was excellent and to my husbands surprise and pleasantly so the Budweiser was super cold! Cheers!

Went in on a Friday night there was men walking around in women's clothes, warm beer I didn't feel liked or welcomed, staff joining in with the people on the dance floor too loud, I will not be going back again not on other days either

Really good venue to see new bands. Good choice of rock music. Bar is well stocked and the range of cocktails is good and reasonably priced. We will visit here again. The art work is interesting and pinball machines were an added bonus.

Giant oil paintings of rock stars, an AC/DC pinball machine, interesting clientele, good service. Good one, will be back.

The most friendly and least pretentious bar in Nottingham. Brilliant customer service. Rockers and alternative types in the main with a brilliant jukebox and quality live music to match but anyone would feel welcome here and catch the vibe. Best bar in Nottingham.

There really isn't anywhere like the TnT. The welcome you receive from everyone is unbelievable and not just from the staff. The friendliest bunch of reprobates you will ever come across make this place a must for anyone with even a passing interest in Rock music.

5* I've been to The Tap on several occasions and it's the best place I've ever been to in Nottingham! The bar staff are incredible at what they do and the atmosphere is something else! You're made to feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. Whether I've been in on my own or with friends, everytime has been amazing! You should definitely head over and rock out!

this pub really does remind me of the Cheers bar, where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came!!There is a real friendly community atmosphere at the TnT, where you can go and be yourself and no-one will judge you, the staff are friendly and happy, you can talk to anyone there and you will be greeted with a smile and hello.If I can respond to Jujitsudee13 - I was at the bar on the night in question and although there was an unfortunate leak in the ladies, this was at no point disgusting or dangerous, I saw a pub full of rockers stop what they were doing to help clean up and make sure it stayed safe, this is what the Tap & Tumbler is about:MusicFriends,Laughter,Good times!!I'll see you all again real soon

Where to start ?This place is unbeatable, great staff, great music, both live and on the juke box.Always a friendly atmosphere and just like a pub should be.Sure, it's not all gleaming sparkling glass, chrome and deep pile carpets, but if you want a real pub with real people up for a great time, any day of the week it 's The Tap all day long, every day (and night).A real Rock'N'Roll pub for real Rock'N'Roll people. Just like it should be.

What an absolutely fantastic place! There is a real spirit of community there. There was an issue with a leak on the night and not only were the staff quick to try and sort it but the customers mucked in as well to make sure the evening could carry on. You tell my another place where something like that would happen? There is a real pride in the place, not only from the staff but from the customers. It really does feel like a home from home. There is the moniker 'Tap Family' that does the rounds there. This couldn't be more true.If a place is defined by the people, then this is one of the greatest places on Earth.

The best Bar in Nottingham by far. If Rock music is your thing you will just love the atmosphere in the Tap. Friendly people and friendly staff, open mic nights and live bands. This place rocks like no other.

As always we had an amazing time on Saturday night!!!! The Tap is truly a place where everyone feels like family!!! Everyone looks out for each other and we all do our bit to make sure we keep Rock n Roll alive in Nottingham. Unfortunately due to the bad weather there was flooding, but in true Tap style everyone pulled together to make sure the night kept going. It was after all a special night for two our good Tap friends!!!Because of this everyone stopped what they were doing and helped the staff make the place safe in order for the show to go on. The toilets affected were closed and any damp patches were cleared.This place truly feels like family and it was a great pleasure to receive a thank you message the following day for our help and support!The Tap has never been about money. It's always been about good friends, good times and Rock n Roll!!It is the only place I know where I can walk in on my own, feel safe and I'm guaranteed to see someone I know. That's because everyone is there for the same reason, the music!!!!

The tap n tumbler pub in nottm has an amazing comradery and friendly atmosphere ! On Saturday there were some slight water problems but with all the rallying around they managed to not only carry on serving at a very busy rock pub but sorted the issues as best they could .my husband and I can't recommend this pub enough !...great music great atmosphere and fab funny n friendly staff

On the whole I do like this pub, however this should have been closed last night because of a plumbing issue. The ladies toilets clearly had a leak, which was obvious from the cardboard sheets that had been placed on the floor in the ladies toilets which were saturated. Then you kept getting dripped on from the ceiling. When you looked up there was water dripping through the light fittings onto your head. The worst part was some then dripped straight into my mouth. Now I do not know if this is a central heating issue or I hope to god it was not a drainage problem. The staff were well aware of this because there was a bar man in the ladies toilets looking at it.As far as I am concerned this place should have been closed last night whilst they sorted out the problem, but they obviously care more about their turnover than peoples welfare.

Staff and drinkers all really nice. Spent several hours in here instead of one quick drink on the way past. I can't wait to go again. There are also local artist's paintings that you can buy and lots of memorabilia from all the travelling bands that have played in there and near by. Kept very clean

An enjoyable pub to visit; I loved the atmosphere and decor, it really is like spending an evening in with the Adams Family. The beer was good, some brews quite strong, and we also got a plate of nachos as nibbles which came fairly quickly.Unfortunately on my two bar visits I encountered snooty and disinterested barmaids. I know from prior visits this isn't the norm, but after getting the feeling they grew bored serving drinks, we left to go on elsewhere.

This is an absolute jewel of a venue hidden in Nottingham. The bar staff are ALL fabulous, they are knowledgeable, friendly and above all very welcoming. It clearly has its regulars but it is friendly to anyone. It has its characters and they are all lovely. The food is top notch and the menu has really good names for the food that really show thought has gone into it. It is the perfect place for a drink at lunch or before a gig as Rock City is a couple of minutes walk away. I recommend this to anyone who likes a good drink, a friendly atmosphere and an excellent jukebox.

I lived this place after visiting for the first time last night! A very niche rock bar, excellent music, giant jukebox and great beers! What more could you need?

As soon as we walked in I knew it was going to be a great experience. We went in for a pint on the way into town during the day and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed, with classic rock playing at a volume so it could be heard but you didn't have to shout at each other to have a conversation. The staff were friendly and seemed to have a sense of humour judging by the menu we looked at. When we returned to end our night out there later on the place was well and truly rocking. Loads of awesome classic rock tunes loads of friendly people dancing and the staff were enjoying themselves too. It will definitely be a regular when we visit Nottingham.

If you like rock music this is the pub for you. Near the Rock City venue, good choice of beer (a couple of ales only but ok) and decent and cheap food

The beating heart of Nottingham's rock scene, with great food and drinks. Not the roomiest venue for watching live music, but the sound is quite splendid. Craig and folks are nuggets of gold for maintaining the quality. well worth the two hour drive for me to visit.

Stumbled across this pub on Saturday afternoon, it just looked like a 'proper' pub from the outside. My husband and myself couldn't decide which bitter to have and asked the barman in the beret to recommend one for us, without hesitation he poured a small sample for us to try. It was a lovely gesture and we both went with his choice which hit the spot. Three games of pool and a couple of drinks later we left, but one of the great things about the pub was the music, classical rock at its best, it was loud and fabulous, not the usual crap you hear in pubs nowadays. We will certainly go back when we are next in Nottingham to visit our daughter at Nottingham Trent Uni.

I've been drinking in 'The Tap' on and off for over 20 years, and although it went down hill a couple of years ago, it's now back on form. Its a great place for pre and post Rock City drinks. With open mic nite and a variety of free bands playing in the week there's always something going on. This place is once again a permanent fixture on our pub crawl round Nottingham. Always a warm welcome from Craig and Tommy, well done guys.

Always liked this place, well stocked bar, friendly staff and great music. Plus there's always a lot of music memorabilia on show which is cool to look at.

Was staying at the crown plaza over the road so this was a handy bar to visit especially being on a hen night. Bar man couldn't off been any more friendly he put credit on the juke box and made us all feel very welcome even getting the hen to pretend to pull a pint behind the bar. We were welcomed instantly and returned the following evening it was very busy but again a brilliant bar.

We visited there twice and consecutive nights; just to make sure it was okay. The bar staff were very quick, even though it was very busy, and the prices were good. What made it even better was the music. Some excellent tracks, new and old! Just a shame that we didn't hear all our choices; but it was busy. Looking forward to going back next weekend!

After being asked to leave Spanky Van Dykes for being in 'fancy dress', this was the next pub we went to. From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel really welcome, and were quickly served by the very friendly bar staff. Good beer, sensible prices, and an excellent music and atmosphere restored our faith in Nottingham's alternative nightlife. Thanks!Just for reference, we were steampunks, not in b****y 'fancy dress! As most of your staff and patrons recognised. I hope we brought a smile to a few faces!

Last night was our first trip to the Tap N Tumbler and what a different experience it was. You sometimes think that a place `rocks’ well the Tap most certainly does.Not only do you get to hear live music and rub shoulders with an eclectic mix of interesting folk (if you like to people watch it is a must place to visit) the beer is superb – the bar staff are friendly and know their stuff.Rock music is not my usual thing but I loved this place. To top it all the band, Airborne, were excellent. They had their own take on some great songs, my favourite was a rumbustious rendition of I’m a Believer – quite brilliant! The lead singer had real attitude, a joy to watch.
