Bronte & Co in Nottingham

Have visited many times and haven't had a bad meal ever. Had sea bass today and it was beautiful.

I’ve been a few times. Normally The service is okay, but the last two occasions the service has been quite low. The management are lovely but some of staff just can’t be bothered to work. I had to ask a member of staff to take my order after waiting 15 minutes for some one to come over. When my order came I had no napkins on the table, I had to ask for some sauces and I had no butter on my toast. The staff member put my food on the table without offering any sauces and walked off. They need trading in customer service

Food excellent, but please disgard crockery that is chipped, as were our two teapots snd one of our dinner plates, and serve cold milk, not warm. with tea. Good service, pleasant smbidnce.

My partner and I had been told good things about the food here so we gave it a go for Sunday brunch. We ordered a latte, a cappuccino, 2 orange juices, Turkish eggs, and eggs on avocado toast (total came to £35). The waiter came with an orange squash (and charged £3.70 for it) and an orange juice which was baffling. Our meals were fine but for what they charged were underwhelming; neither seasoned nor with much flavour. All in all, disappointing. However, I note that they have recently expanded into the shop unit next to their original cafe and I wonder if they are still figuring out how to deal with more customers/bigger demand.

We visited here but we will never go back. Tables are too close. Long wait for food so everyone at tables either side are staring at you whole you eat. Rude foreign staff who say nothing just literally throw your food at you. Quite expensive for the service and food we were given. Avoid this place it's not a nice place at all. They need to put the staff through some kind of customer service training. A smile might have helped and then maybe the price may be worth it but as I said we won't return

I had a prawn meal with peppers veg & plenty of cheese. The problem was the prawn was not clean properly ie poo long black vain still in the prawn & it was still in its shell when I brought it to the waiter attention he says the chef said because it's cook fresh. I had to ask for another plate so I could take the shell off the prawn & de vain it before I could eat it. Personally lazy chef he should know how to cook prawns properly.

Hoy tuvimos una comida fabulosa en Brontë aunque no recuerdo el nombre de la comida que hice una foto de ella... Estaba lleno de sabor muy bien preparado y mucho. El personal era atento y muy, muy amable. Manteniendo el lugar limpio recomendaría este restaurante y volveré a visitar pronto.

We went to Brontë's to celebrate a birthday last night, there were 21 of us. The table was one long table which was disappointing as some of us struggled to get out (we were squashed against the wall) and we couldn't communicate with the far end of the table. We were also very cold, especially the people seated by the door onto the street. They sat with their coats on all the time contending with an icy blast as people came and went. It was a big order, but not everyone wanted starters, so some waited an hour and thirty minutes for their food, whilst one end of the table had finished their starters and mains before others had anything. One of our party didn't get her meal at all and had to ask where it was. They did add a piece of extra salmon as an apology, but it was so soaked in oil she couldn't eat it. I had the fish platter at £32, it looked nice everything except the scampi was overcooked. The calamari was inedible, I think was probably bought in frozen, it was so hard, not like elastic bands, just really hard. The king prawns had a nice taste, but were very rubbery and the salmon was black, not pan seared, black and burnt and again overcooked. The salad was nice, but the "tender"stem broccoli was anything but tender, the stems were fibrous and woody. The waitress collected my plate and I told her the food was overcooked and that the calamari was really tough, she smiled and nodded, so I told her again and she just nodded and took my plate. The staff were generally pleasant and helpful, but we were so disappointed with the food and the table none of us will be going back.

Waited n hour and twenty minutes for my meal others in our our party where finishing when it arrived , it was the mixed grill platter overcooked, dry n bland. And overpriced for what it was, very disappointing, wouldn't go again

We're to start, great staff, very friendly and great hospitality! I love to setup of the restaurant. It is very inviting and welcoming. The food is top Notch, I’ve had a good amount of breakfast in my time and there english breakfast is top quality and one of the best ive ever had eaten. Great produce and cooked to perfection. No fat or grease like you get in alot of cafe/restaurants Would 100% recommended this place! Also there baklva is unbelievable. A+++ all around! Thanks for you the complimentary Turkish tea which I had never tried! Amazing.

Had the Turkish vegetarian breakfast and it was amazing. All great flavours and plenty of food for your money.

Reservamos con antelación y decidimos tener una comida de Navidad con un par de amigos. Reservamos la comida de dos platos y todos tuvimos carne. Pudimos ver que había un gran grupo en la nueva zona y que el personal estaba ocupado. El personal no preguntó cómo se preferían los filetes y solo esperamos por la comida. Los filetes fueron sacados sin embargo todos eran diferentes en cómo se cocinaban. Uno era casi raro junto con otro que estaba bien hecho. Mi mujer tenía la suya que prefiere que esté bien hecha y se enfrentó a tener una rara que como podéis imaginar, la pospuso. Intentó comer un poco, pero tuvo que cambiarlo por el mío. No queríamos molestar al personal, ya que podíamos ver que estaban pasando mucho tiempo con el grupo grande. Nadie se encontró para ver cómo estaba la comida como entonces habríamos descrito cómo eran todos los filetes. Luego tuvimos que pedir cuchillos de carne ya que era imposible utilizar los cubiertos proporcionados. Luego recibimos los postres y dos de los tiramisús se habían congelado en el medio, de nuevo nadie vino a preguntar cómo iba nuestra comida. Seguramente debe haber alguna manera de comprobar cómo le gustaría la cocción del bistec y esto debería haberse abordado al hacer el pedido. El hecho de que recibimos 4 filetes y todos fueron cocinados completamente diferente es decepcionante. Pagamos un montón de dinero y simplemente sentimos que la experiencia general y la comida era pobre dado el precio. Envié un correo electrónico al propietario que reconoció que tenían problemas con el grupo grande y reconoció los problemas y ofreció un filete gratis, sin embargo, cuando se dieron cuenta de que no éramos parte del grupo se retractó de su oferta y ofreció una botella de vino gratis. Claramente estaban ocupados con el grupo grande y estaban luchando por administrar a todos en el restaurante. Queríamos dar un poco de comercio a nuestro restaurante local, sin embargo, tienen un largo camino por recorrer, ya que no pueden simplemente administrar a todos ahora que se han extendido. I was really impressed with the Christmas meal and service, such a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food tasted amazing and the staff we so helpful and friendly and accommodating with us having a child. I will certainly be back to eat again in the future. 5 stars!

Cocktails weren't made fresh. £8 is a lot for a canned cocktail. Food was OK... Beef was a bit gristly with my salad. Staff were very pleasant

Really enjoyed our visit today. The food was delicious and well presented as well as tasting really fresh. The management and staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Pretty well prices as well. Would definitely visit again if in the area. Great job guys!

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here when I was over from Portugal visiting a friend with his young baby. The staff were very polite and welcoming, and I look forward to returning the next time I’m back in Nottingham!

Had lunch here today at 12:45pm. Really nice venue, food excellent and good value. Waitress not very friendly and needs to work on being polite and at least look happy to be a part of the team. Would visit again, hoping for better service next time.

Called in today with my young lady completely random. Had lamb casserole partner had chefs chicken. A straight 10

Very nice food, atmosphere and place. First time visit and really impressed.

This is the third time I have been to this place, so I have given them the benefit of doubt. The service is appalling. The rude, loud, overbearing waiter is very patronising and does not understand the meaning of catering to all customers. There is a kids menu, but limited vegetarian or non meat choices. Initially, I ordered the vegetarian sausage meal for my little one, who did not like the sausages as they had spring onions in there. Therefore, I asked the waiter for fish fingers as extras (not a meal), explaining my child did not want the sausages. He brought out a fish finger meal which I explained I did not want, I only wanted the fish fingers. Do not order the fish fingers whatever you do, they were cheap, smelly and an off colour, which were left, not to be eaten (see photo). I had the Turkish vegetarian breakfast which was ok, but I have had better. When coming to pay, the waiter charged me for two kids meals without telling me, until I realised and questioned him about the fish fingers. He told me that he was not able to charge me just for the fish fingers and would have to charge the full meal. Eventually, he removed the extra meal he had charged me for, after I explained my child did not even eat the fish fingers and that they were off colour and did not look right. I have been here previously where I had a tea and cheesecake, and they had warmed up the cheesecake. The service is appalling and the owner seems very grumpy and unapproachable. The decor looks, nice and inviting, but food is overpriced, and customer service is not great. The waiter (Turkish man, very loud with longish hair tied back) does not listen to his customers and what they require, or cater to their specific dietary requirements. Like I said, I have given this place the benefit of doubt as I’ve visited this place three times now, and I will not be returning, and will not recommend to any of my friends or family.

Very poor service, ordered coffee and a nibble from the cabinet. Coffee finished nibble. O where to be seen and when it arrived it’s still chilled instead of warm.

Estábamos buscando un lugar para desayunar y optamos por Brontë & Co ya que estaba de camino a casa y tenía buenas críticas. Nos encantó. Comida y servicio excepcionales. El desayuno inglés completo estaba perfectamente cocinado y bastante grande (3 salchichas, 2 tocino, 2 huevos, 2 hachís, etc). Mi esposa tenía la salchicha turca con feta, aguacate y masa madre. Bien cocinado, bien presentado y también una comida grande. Definitivamente volveré. Una pequeña joya de un restaurante.

Me and my partner wanted something different to pub grub on a Sunday so we tried this place. Amazing food, Hakkan was so friendly and provided 10/10 service! Definitely be back. Thank you !

I would give 3 stars usually as it has been good so far, but I had some borek for takeaway yesterday and ate it today and realised the dough inside was raw. Just think for £5 per borek I expected it to be fully cooked. It should be cooked at any price tbf, their cake was quite dry once as well and I didn’t feel as welcome as in other places in sherwood. The Turkish eggs is amazing tho and generally the food is very good, pricey but nice. I had a salad the other day and while it was nice, for £13 I expected some bread with it also it took 10 mins before we were attended which I initiated in the end. It was a veggie salad as well, so overpriced unfortunately, adding some bread would definitely add to value. Hope this helps

Wow. Stumbled upon this place four weeks ago when looking for somewhere for breakfast. I had the full breakfast and my wife had the avocado and poached eggs. We were so impressed then that we returned again and today we had the Turkish breakfast and the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. The food is excellent, as is the welcome and the ambiance. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Sin embargo, la razón principal de la revisión 5 * es el increíble servicio que recibimos de nuestro camarero. Desafortunadamente, me olvidé de anotar su nombre - él era muy atento y amable. I was back from Portugal to visit friends and family with an old school mate and his baby and he took me to Bronte & co as it wasn’t there the last time I was in England. We received great service from the staff and I’ll definitely be returning!

I've just had the Turkish vegetarian breakfast. It was absolutely delicious, the food was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented.

Went for bfast with a friend. Lovely greeting by staff. Delicious food , wonderful presentation followed by coffee. No pressure to leave . Great value for money. Loved the Turkish slant on bfast...Will definitely be back.

Spotted their street sign on our way to the monthly craft market and decided to grab breakfast. Didn’t even look at reviews before popping in because it looked so uncharacteristically inviting. It did not disappoint! My partner had the full English breakfast plate, and I just had eggs and meat a la carte. DELICIOUS. And top-notch service personnel!

Bronte & co is one of the best places to visit in Sherwood for value for money. The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing appears to be too much trouble for them. The quality of their food is outstanding and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I will definitely keep visiting.

Nice atmosphere, good coffee but the poached eggs were bad. Hard eggs and dry toast. Disappointing. But the staff were nice.

Lovely staff, delicious food and very cozy atmosphere! We went there around 12/1pm with my sister to grab brunch and we have an amazing experience. The staff is professional and friendly, and the food is delicious. We’ve had the egg on toast and the pancake with banana and Nutella. The total was for £24 and it also included a latte and a mocha. I definitely recommend the place and we’ll definitely be back.

This is an absolutely fantastic little spot. The food quality is excellent and great value for money. All of the portion sizes were generous, and there's a great mix of traditional English and authentic Turkish dishes (we had club sandwiches + a Turkish lamb main, all delicious and filling). There's also a lovely back garden that's perfect in warmer weather. Took my dad and my wife there, and now it's my dad's favourite place. A genuinely great find; highly recommended.

Had a wonderful 3 course lunch here today. Every course was perfect with freshly cooked really tasty food and generous portions. Service was great and we weren't rushed at all. Thank you Bronte & Co we will definitely be back.

Visited on Saturday 27th January went with my family had mixed grill as did my brother generous portions very well cooked.Service was very good in a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Best cup of tea I’ve ever been served in a cafe along with a fantastic vegetarian breakfast. The waiter was incredibly nice and helpful.

Popped for an impromptu lunch with my wife. What a delight! The decor was tastefully done , the service attentive and the food sublime. We will go back to try other items on the menu.

Came in and was seated, ordered vegetarian grill. After 20 minutes the staff member returned and said he'd forgotten what I'd ordered and could I tell him again. I declined and left. Shame as other people's meals looked nice.

We had a late breakfast at Brontë. This place came highly recommended by friends that live locally, and I'm so glad we decided to visit. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were incredibly friendly,. The full English breakfast and the carrot cake were delicious.

Breakfast fabulous!! Turkish breakfast for one, Shasuka, steak and onios and club sandwich. We were all very pleased with our selection. Will we go back? Most definitely.

We turned up just before they were closing, and the restaurant was really accommodating, which we're grateful for. I had the lamb stew which was delicious, and my partner had the steak which was perfectly cooked. The service and atmosphere just made our evening perfect. We will definitely be going back, and we would definitely recommend this place.

The venue was very accommodating at short notice. I had the lamb casserole...very tasty. Pleasant welcome and waiting on staff. Four meals, with sides, drinks and desserts for £120...very reasonable.

Very nice find, super friendly and helpful owner and staff, lovely tasting food which was a feast for the eyes and good coffee.

Lovely atmosphere, very clean and friendly and the food was delicious. There were 6 of us. We started with the sharing platter of fried mushrooms, chicken wings , onion rings, halloumi and dips. Very tasty. Main meals were hot and very tasty. Creamy chicken, burger, steak, and other chicken dishes. The sweets were soooooo good. All different sponges. Chocolate orange cake, Victoria sponge, pistachio sponge, all very light and delicious. We'll worth a visit.

Was ok. Quiet and nice atmosphere. The staff tho think that u will be eating even thst we just wanted a coffee. So they didn't seem to like this. We still spending money at your place even if it is just a coffee so we should be treated as any other customer thank you. Twice you tried to bring us someone else's food to our table also. Do you not know how to manage a place . The staff made u feel like u are a burden cos we just had a coffee each. As was meeting a friend there. You need to sort the staff out here.. they can't be that way. We don't go in places just to have food. We go for a coffee or tea or something.

Requested the chicken salad without bacon, specified No Bacon -yet it was served with bacon?! When asked to correct the error, the salal was returned, however bits of bacon were still found in it, indicating that the chef just picked out the bacon instead of producing a fresh chicken salad. Disgusting and totally disrespectful to patrons. Will never return and ensure others don't lest this error-making cost-saving establishment disappoints! Mean servings, not worth it

I'd heard great reviews, but food was average, my coffee wasn't hot but the decor and staff were friendly enough.
