We have eaten here before but have only ever sat outside for drinks/snacks. On this occasion we sat indoors for a full cooked meal at lunchtime. The internal decor was pleasant and the ambiance excellent. Despite being almost full there was a very quiet and refined atmosphere. The menu was varied, interesting and most mains were around £15. Everything we had was delicious and well cooked. The shepherds pie was exceptionally good - the best I’ve ever had. Our only criticism would be the rather too ’al dente’ veg. The service was exemplary and we will definitely return.

A lovely location with very tasty food and excellent, friendly service. We arrived for an early lunch and had the brie, bacon and cranberry paninis, which were accompanied by perfectly cooked and very tasty chips. The staff could not have been more helpful and the service was prompt but not in any way hurried. Highly recommended

This was our second visit, our previous one was two years ago, both weekend stays in lovely Woodhall Spa. We loved our first visit but forgot to leave a review. As before everything about our evening dinner experience was 5 star. As you walk in you sense the great atmosphere with the sound of happy voices. The staff are very personable and attentive. The menu has something for everyone and the specials board spoils you for choice. The food was sensational so massive compliments to the kitchen staff. We will definitely return on our next trip to the area.

Visited Woodhall Spa to see 617 Squadron “Dambusters Memorial “and needed some lunch.Had looked at Tea House on line and it suggested booking advisable…but thought we would take a chance. On arrival some folks were queuing up outside and we thought we could be out of luck. But no,they had booked and were quickly shown inside, the waiter said he had a table on the terrace which we took.We both ordered haddock and chips and it came in about 15 minutes and I must say one of the best pieces of haddock I have had.Everything was cooked well and hot.Very friendly and attentive staff, well worth the visit.

We poled up (4 of us) after 3 on a Sunday afternoon on spec after our hotel had tried to book a table for us and been told they were fully booked. Inside was fully booked but the outside tables were available and there was sunshine and no rain! So we ordered 4 cream teas. Served promptly, courteously, and efficiently. And far better than Devon or Cornwall combined could do, I reckon. Lovely location, great service, really friendly staff - and so tolerant too. We were meeting up with friends of over 50 years, sharing memories, and really enjoying the warm scones cream tea, and aftetnoon sunshine, so we stayed there chatting oblivious of time passing beyond closing time. The staff just left us alone, no pressure to leave - and when I popped my head in to say thank you and sorry, I was met with just my smiles and thank yous for appreciating us! Simply superb. We will be back.

Absolutely beautiful place. The food was amazing and all cooked to perfection. I had the tapas starter followed by the guinea fowl and it was some of the best food I've had in a long time. The prices were reasonable and the service fantastic, especially from the dark haired gentleman who was working this evening (4th April). So polite, attentive, and a credit to the business. Would love to return.

Lovely warm welcome and the place feels very welcoming. Went with parents and brother, two had liver they thoroughly loved it, one had the special - blade of beef. I found the lunch menu a bit restricted for me as I’m not such a traditional eater. So I had the lamb and mint burger which was delicious, thoroughly disappointed with coleslaw and the mayonnaise to go with my chips. The mayonnaise I was told is vegan and dairy free (both I understand but I need neither) and lacked taste which then made my fries disappointing as I love a good mayonnaise. My personal view. Two had crumble looked good and generous portions. My hot chocolate was very good.

We’ve given this restaurant five star reviews in the past but on this occasion it wasn’t up to scratch. Service is always good but the Ciabattas were really disappointing. The Bacon & Brie one barely had any Brie on it and any establishment in Lincolnshire serving up a sausage Ciabatta like the one we had here needs to take a good look at itself. Lincolnshire is renowned for its sausages and the menu proudly displays the name of the butchers from where they were sourced. I’m not sure that they were ever going to be great Lincs sausages compared to what’s available in nearby Boston but it seemed like they had been ruined by being cooked earlier and either kept warm or reheated which resulted in a rubbery barely warm disappointment.

It was lovely to see measures in place but implemented in a friendly and helpful manner rather than overbearing which we have experienced on other parts of our visit to Lincolnshire. We had a simple light lunch and scone but it was well presented and very tasty with attention to detail such as the warm scone. It makes all the difference. There were plenty of staff, with the person escorting us to the table, helping to reassure us they were taking the measures seriously. They were friendly and attentive without being overbearing or condescending. It is a very fine balance which the Tea House exceeded expectations, with flying colours. We will definitely be returning when we are back in Lincolnshire again.

Saturday evening meal, pre-cinema. Staff made you feel safe on arrival and service was prompt. Prices are ok as portions a good size and tasty. And whilst I can’t criticise the food or staff, and left a healthy tip to reflect it, I find the rigid inflexibility really quite ridiculous. For example, my mother wanted the steak pie. It stated “with mash”. If she eats mash, she’s sick. She simply can’t stand the texture. So I asked if she could have any other sort of potato. The answer was “only if you pay extra”. Do they offered a side dish of nee potatoes but the pie would still come with mash - which on her plate would put her off the whole meal. So she took the salmon instead. Her dish snd mine came with a plate of vegetables (including nee potatoes). Maybe all the dishes are pre-plated and microwaved, but seriously guys in this environment where everyone is desperate for business, can you really and honestly tell me swapping mash for other potatoes is impossible?!You’d have got 5 stars if only you had.

It grieves me to write this review as I have patronised the Tea House on a very regular over many years for coffee, lunch, evening meals and everything inbetween, and have always highly recommended it on the basis that there was nothing to beat it in Woodhall Spa and a much wider area However, since re-opening after Covid it does not offer the same quality, quantity or value for money as previously. In order to justify this report I have had several meals and refreshments since the re-opening with Covid restrictions were permitted several weeks ago, and can honestly say that something is amiss. This appraisal has also been borne out by friends who frequently has meals both pre and post Covid. If it wasn't the Tea House many of the offerings may have been acceptable - but it is almost as though there has been a major change of chef(s) and catering staff, which isn't the case. Portion size and presentation seems to have been pared back and prices increased - it just isn't the same value. Additionally there is a stated inflexibility with meals, for example, - if it says it comes with peas, it comes with peas, and cannot be substituted for beans. The front of house staff are still well trained, welcoming and a credit to the establishment - a credit I think to Natalie. The problem seems go be with the portion allocation mandated for the chef and kitchen staff. A recent example was the Lincolnshire Meat Ploughman's which I had recently; priced at £10, the very small slices of haslet and ham were so wafer thin that you could almost have read a book though them, and the piece of pork pie was half the size of a 50p pork pie from a supermarket. Coupled with a miserable slice of bread and butter it was a pathetic offering. Not all customers are of an age and appetite that they require a 'doggy bag' for a lettuce leaf and half a scone. The Tea House has a very loyal clientele, both local and visitors, generated by a previous business ethos that offered exemplary service and value for money - but 'every dog has it's day' and complacency must not be allowed to creep in. Continuance of standards and product offerings must remain value for money, if not competition will always be ready to step in. Whilst on the subject of improvements, and one which can be easily remedied, is the background music. Always too loud and making conservation difficult. It should always be muted, a background murmur. I think the CD 's are ones that the younger members of staff bring in - just the wrong type. Please lower the volume - we don't need wailing/rap type music. If I did'nt like the Tea House I wouldn't have written this review - but it has been a gem in the area, and I want it to remain so. The cleanliness of the premises is commendable - I have not been to any other that can compare.

The place was immaculate and once a table was empty the staff quickly cleaned the table and sanitised the whole table and all the chairs which left you feeling safe and well looked after. The only downside I would say is the amount of wasps we encountered as there was no seating inside we opted to sit outside. Could just do with some wasp deterrent of some sort. We found the tea house in the woods whilst wandering around Woodhall Spa - they had good procedures in place for social distancing so there were two desperate queues - one if you had booked and another if you were hoping for food and drinks! We managed to get a table very quickly and placed our order after much discussion of what to have - we went for the ploughman’s which was lovely and had a good selection on it - the only criticism I will give it was that oh a ploughman’s you usually get think chunky bread to enjoy it with and all that was given was a slice of normal bread which let it down a bit..Tables were all distanced as should be and all staff were wearing masks / face shields which was good to see!

Came here with my mum, daughter and autistic brother whilst having a break away in the area. The gentleman that served us was really patient and helpful with my brother as he can get very flustered when making decisions for himself and changes his mind often! I was really looking forward to the afternoon tea but was told one of the items that it comes with (lemon posset) was not suitable for vegetarians and that they would not substitute it for anything else, although I'm not sure why as they sell plenty of other items and said everything is made to order, so was slightly dissapointed that they couldn't be more flexible to vegetarians, when a lot of places would just swap for something else to ensure all diets are catered for. My mum still chose it for herself, it looked lovely and she said it was all tasty especially the Victoria sponge cake. I had a toasted ciabatta with chips and it was actually really nice, chips were lovely and crisp (although a little tight on the portion size for £8). Kids both got sandwiches, again very small portion but at £2.50 can't really complain about it. They chose banoffee pie for dessert and it looked amazing, wish I'd of got myself one! Overall probably wouldn't come back as portion sizes on the small side and not enough flexibility for other diets.

We recently visited this charming Teahouse and instantly fell in love with the aura of the place. Set in the woods at Woodhall Spa next to the derelict Spa building (under reconstruction) and the enigmatic Kinema in the Woods, this tin roofed Teahouse was delightful in its appearance and service. The outside area is well maintained and spacious (coping easily with Covid19 regulations) and the indoor space was beautifully designed and decorated again keeping in line with Covid19 changes. The service from all members of staff was extremely polite and courteos. The meal was served quickly and was delicious. Good signage throughout the garden interior.

Been visiting the tea house for past 6 years and its always been excellent- quality and quantity of food and friendliness of staff. Having chosen the seafood platter many times i recommended this to my guest.surprisingly only 5 pieces scampi and 2 small fish bits this time. Whilst the food was very nice I didnt feel it commanded the price tag and differed very much to previous occasions.

This was our first tentative step back to the eating out world.....but we really didn't need to be worried at all. The separation of tables was clearly defined with a one way system in place to guide you safely around this well established eatery. The staff were extremely attentive and no request was to much for them its seems like a happy well oil ship they have here that coupled with the biggest and hottest breakfast I can ever refer having made for an exceptional experience I will without a doubt be revisiting this amazing hidden gem in Woodhall Spa In the very near future congratulations to all at the Tea House in the Woods.

Visited on a Thursday evening with friends just after lockdown eased. Very friendly welcoming staff and good service. Food was very good indeed - simple and unfussy but well cooked and well presented. Menu could have had more choice but covered all the main bases. Only thing which surprised us was how quiet the restaurant was but I suppose that was a function of it being mid week and just after easing of lockdown restrictions. It certainly deserves to be busier!

Really great choice to visit Tea House for 'return' meal. Well laid out and signed for social distancing. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The use of PPE was appropriate and proportional. Above all the atmosphere was relaxed and as normal as possible. Not even mentioned the food yet and it was fabulous. I enjoyed the meat ploughman's which was chock full of fresh ham, haslet and pork pie. Enjoyed the pickled veg even surprisingly the cauli! Afternoon teas were enjoyed by my companions with lovely cakes and scones. We were all pleasantly stuffed!

Today we enjoyed a very tasty afternoon tea for my husband's Birthday! It all went to the pre-arranged plan! We parked in front of the tea house, opened the boot and a young man came out with our tea - all carefully packaged in environmentally friendly containers. (Well done!) Sandwiches, scones (a cheese and a fruit scone) delicious sponge cake - coffee and chocolate and a summer fruit posset. We were also able to buy a takeaway tea.Since it was a sunny afternoon, we were able to drive over to Jubilee Park and enjoy our food. We would thoroughly recommend this experience.

Just to let you know we had a Afternoon Tea Takeout for my birthday, what a feast.Easy to book and collection was pull up in the car park with boot open, they drop your takeout in the boot and close it and off you go.There were a virity of sandwiches with a side salad, followed by a massive scone with jam & cream, then a lemon posset before a final course of a loverly home made coffee cake.Would highly recomend and think they are doing a first class service under the circumstances.

Having been vulnerable isolated for ten weeks we decided to have a treat and ordered an afternoon tea for two. We did as instructed parking outside with boot open having paid over the phone. Our tea was promptly brought out and no contact was made. We had a 25 minute drive home and thoroughly enjoyed our food on the patio. It had been beautifully packed so was perfectly fresh. Many thanks to the staff in this strange time.

As we were in lockdown I looked for something special to do at home for VE Day, we would normally have gone to a village event and had a meal out.So I ordered 2 lots of afternoon teas (£18.00) for for 2 people, the sandwiches were in the words of my 3 year old grandson who lives with me ...delicious... there was a good variety, small salad, scones with jam & cream, a lemon posset and Victoria sponge cake, we were all stuffed , thouroughly enjoyed it and it added ambience to a lovely day .We collected it at 2.30, all ready and waiting to pop into the boot for social distancing we’ll packaged and all got hone in one piece. We love going to here for afternoon tea, the take out quality was excellent.

Took my Mum along to this quaint little gem for her birthday and it was worth every penny. The staff go above and beyond to provide excellent service and the food was amazing. We visited when the Covid-19 issue arose and this place offered a little slice of normality and calm which was what was needed. So much history in a small building, a must on a visit to Woodhall Spa

Booked for lunch here prior to a visit to Kinema in the Woods cinema in Woodhall Spa. Restaurant was already well occupied at our arrival but we were attended to by very friendly and competent staff and the meal arrived after minimal delay.Ordered food was excellent, very good sized portions suited our peckish needs of the day.Would highly recommend this restaurant but ensure you prior book due to it being very popular.

Not been since the refurb, looks great. Very welcoming. Staff were friendly and soon seated us at a table. Delicious fish and chips was enjoyed and we had time for a quick walk around Woodhall to work some of it off before the film. Definitely returning.

We visited on Sunday 23rd February with friendly staff until we mentioned we was Vegan. The waitress said normally people with dietary requirements call before hand as they only offered a vegan crumble and they didn’t have any other vegan foods available. They wouldn’t even make beans on toast for us or a jacket potato. I asked if we had called before would they have offered anything other than a Vegan crumble to eat and she said “no, we don’t have much of your type around here”! With that we left and found Janet’s tea rooms in the high street, who was very accommodating to us. The equilibrium of bad/good had been restored. Janet’s tea rooms offered us a variety of foods and made us feel very welcome.

Myself and 2 friends had coffee and sandwiches here before going to the nearby Kinema. I had booked which was the best thing to do as I don’t think we would been able to get in. As usual the experience at the tea house is wonderful, the food is great, the staff are wonderful, always polite and attentive. Once again a great eatery.

Staying in Aby village for a week's holiday and had to try the local pub. Exterior looks a bit "tired" but don't be put off - inside it's friendly. cosy and lots of character. Excellent choices of dishes on the menu and "daily specials" board - we especially appreciated the choice of gluten-free options and Dawn was happy to go through each option in detail. Good portions and served hot! Very tasty and wholesome. Wide range of dessert options too and it was evident from conversations with other diners, that Dawn would also be happy to adapt these just to suit individual requirements. Obviously very deserving of the many awards over many years.
