I am allergic to Garlic and often struggle to find things to eat in restaurants. The staff here were so friendly, they checked through ingredients and even offered to tweak the menu to make me something. Even though the pub is a Hungry Horse, the staff made it feel like a local, rather than a franchise.

Took two of our grand children and we all had an excellent meal. They listened to our request (the grandchildren only eat plain burgers ie no trimmings, salad etc.) and the food was as ordered. Our designated server, Kirsten, was also excellent as nothing was too much trouble for her and she was very pleasant.

We made a reservation here for a family Sunday lunch as we have dined here in the past and are soon to be relocating to the area again to live so we’re keen to reacquaint ourselves. Everyone in the family party chose to skip starters and go straight in for main courses with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, seasonal greens and gravy Of either Roast Topside of Beef Roast Chicken Supreme Apricot & pork stuffing, bread sauce Roast Loin of Pork Burnt apple purée, crackling, apricot & pork stuffing Roast Trio of Meat Topside of beef, chicken supreme, roast loin of pork, burnt apple purée, crackling, we chose an additional couple of sides of cauliflower cheese to share then to save room for Dessert. Portion sizes of all dinners were ample without being generous but could have been bigger especially for the men in the party. The roasted vegetables As would have benefited from a longer cook and more of them on the plate. The roast potatoes needed longer too plus more seasoning and definitely more of them in the plate as they were quite stingy. The roast beef as tender but portion wise the amount l swerved was really small and the same was said my family members for the other meat choices. Gravy was tasty but it would have been nice to have been given an additional gravy jug for the table as that too was not m short supply on the plate Deserts were nice but the sticky toffee. pudding only came with ice cream and no option to swap for Custard. We Were not checked on during the meal until then end times if we needed anything which was a shame. All in all a nice much which considering we have been before we really wanted to love it sadly felt that this wasn’t as good as we’d had. Before. Not sure we will return considering our party size and cost.

Often visit this bar for either a breakfast or mid afternoon meal. On this occasion, I ordered a breakfast and a fruit juice on the Wetherspoon’s iPhone app which is easy to use, even for someone like me who isn’t the best with technology A member of staff brought my drink within 4 minutes of my order being made and 5 minutes later, my breakfast arrived. Well cooked food and the price I paid was amazingly low. The bar itself was very clean and the general atmosphere always seems hospitable and a good place to enjoy a meal or just sit with a drink. The staff are always very friendly, which is worth a lot. Highly recommended!

I just collected 2 too good to go bags, I was very disappointed, hardly any food, we were given soggy sandwiches and borderline fresh pasta. It’s a shame as the shop was FULL of food and as it was so close to closing time I was expecting more, the food sitting on the shelves will go in the bin. I found the staff very unfriendly. Don’t waste your money, the staff obviously begrudge giving out food and would rather it go in the bin. So off to Aldi I go for pic-nic food. So much food goes to waste in the world, to go is a great concept but sadly some shop workers are very tight and enjoy putting food in the bin.

Hardly anyone in here, ordered table service at 8:21am, currently 8:35am, still waiting and staff are stood around like there is nothing to do, all look like they don't want to be here and keep looking over and see me annoyed, can see them laughing between each other, shocking service, first and last time will be eating in Just to add to this review, I cannot even explain how many times they don't have any milkshakes

Not impressed by the prices 😕. £5.40 a pint for average beers and Wine ridiculously expensive. Prosecco simply extortionate and I'd never revisit given the fact that students discounts seem to be splashed over all the menus. Try looking after the locals before giving discounts to people who aren't even back til October.

The service was good and the staff very pleasant and efficient. Clean surroundings. Unfortunately the portion sizes were a little meagre. The food however was very hot which made a pleasant change. At first we thought one of the dishes was meant for a child. Maybe they are cutting the size to keep the price down but this does not make for a wholesome meal.

Very poor, I had a filet chicken burger which tasted like it had been in a hot cabinet for hours , frys were cold and a drink that tasted more like water than Pepsi max, it wasn't like they were very busy we were the only ones in there at the time , miserable staff that looked like a good smile would probably kill them , I know this is franchised fast food ,but come on buck your ideas up this was worse than pathetic

A few of us from Buxton Opera House grabbed some food from here today as it’s only over the road, I had a halloumi salad which most places are against more vegan or vegetarian options although, I thoroughly enjoyed my food today and would definitely recommend anybody and everybody try it!!
