The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

Esta tarde, tuve una increíble comida preparada por el talentoso Chef Lee, con sabores tan notables que se quedarán conmigo para siempre. La amabilidad y el cuidado genuino del personal me hicieron sentir completamente como en casa, mientras que la calidez y dedicación del propietario creó un ambiente acogedor y edificante. No era solo cenar, era pura alegría.

If you look on their FB page they announced very suddenly that they were closing in November 2023 so no point in going there! This needs to be updated on here!

Lovely comfortable accomodation in a central location. The pub downstairs seems more suited to locals than visitors. The room was comfortable, warm and with extremely good housekeeping.

This is a nice place but the food is terrible. I've tried Most the menu over the last few months and have had over 40 meals here and it's the worst wetherspoons I've been too for food, 95% of the meals were missing items and what came out was either burnt or just not nice to taste.

I am allergic to Garlic and often struggle to find things to eat in restaurants. The staff here were so friendly, they checked through ingredients and even offered to tweak the menu to make me something. Even though the pub is a Hungry Horse, the staff made it feel like a local, rather than a franchise.

Had a lovely dinner in the pub on Saturday evening. Then we had tickets for a comedy night (ran by ‘Garden Gigs’) that was being held in a marquee in the car park between 8 - 11pm. It was well organised and the acts were great, especially the compare, who beforehand had asked everyone not to heckle the comedians. They all managed the crowd well, considering some people on the front two rows were being really rude and disruptive by heckling, talking to each other, answering phones and generally trying to gain attention. It was a brilliant night of entertainment, spoilt by a few selfish and insufferable nuisances.

First time we have visited and was really impressed. We booked Valentines menu, everything was great , food , service, drinks and the atmosphere. Will be back to have a steak in the near future!!

I went for lunch with my mum to try something off of the new menu, I had the philly steak which was cooked to perfection, it came with mushrooms, tomatoes, onion rings, peppers, onions and skin on fries and it did not disappoint, we will definitely be going back 😊

Nunca solemos venir a este café, pero los niños tenían hambre mientras compraban y nos detuvimos. Dios mío, qué decisión increíble que tomamos - el servicio al cliente que recibimos, fue increíble. Lian la asistente del gerente y su hermana Kirsty eran increíbles. Ellos realmente cuidaron de mí, mi hermana y mis hijos, fueron generosos, inclusivos y muy considerados. Sinceramente, no puedo agradecerles lo suficiente como para que ya no reciban este tipo de servicio. Si usted está en el centro de Victoria en busca de una cafetería con comida fabulosa, buen servicio al cliente y un ambiente relajante por favor visite la ralladura del café y estoy seguro de que no se decepcionará!

This little bakery is a diamond . Fantastic cakes bakes and bread with a great location and super friendly staff. Thoroughly recommend this place . Oh , and the best Eccles cake I’ve ever had.

Non existent customer service. They also don’t have anything you want to order - we tried to order a chocolate sundae, cookie dough, milkshake, chocolate fudge cake and was told they were all not available. This was after paying. The entire party had to then choose alternatives they weren’t entirely keen on because we had already paid. I find it hard to believe they didn’t know before. We also witnessed a staff member being quite unkind to another employee who was taking orders, and seating walk ins, telling him off and telling him to wash plates instead of seating walk ins. When our food did arrive, only 2 out of the 3 items came. We waited 25 mins for a Sundae to arrive, when it didn’t we told the staff who said it was coming. It then took 10mins for this to arrive. It really shouldn’t take 35 mins to put some ice cream in a bowl. Youre better off going to Heavenlys down the road. Don’t waste your time here.

Don't buy from here hands down the worst greggs I've been to. People don't use gloves Disgusting🫣🤮

The ‘team leader’ was arrogant and rude to our party, Guy in his 30s, head in the clouds. This then rubs up the rest of the staff, so we all suffer !

Best service!! Lovely staff. Should feel proud.

Went for dinner on Saturday with family Food was amazing and served by the lovely Danielle , very attentive and polite Will be back again.
