Took 15 minutes to reach the front of the queue of 5 people, not enough staff on duty. Staff advised against purchasing a mince pie @ £1.50 each as they thought they were too expensive. The cakes looked nice but at £4.50 per slice were too expensive too.

Normally, this is a great place to eat. However today was quite the opposite. A curried vegetable pasty that was only just warm enough and an egg mayonnaise sandwich that had lettuce in (for some strange reason) and the whole thing was so sloppy it was almost drinkable. I sincerely hope this was a one-off

A lovely location on thr chatsworth Estate, but two things massively let this establishment down; 1 - all the cakes are uncovered, meaning that they are all extremely dry and stale (I go to chatsworth a handful of times a year, this disappointingly never changes, and I always include on the feedback survey I receive after each visit. Clearly nobody is reading them!) 2 - despite two hot drinks stations, there only seems to be one person at each, actually making hot drinks. Even when the queues are huge this doesn't change and I regularly see people put their tray back and walk out in frustration. The servers are maddeningly slow too ....or is that just amplified because we have to wait for an eternity to be served? I love chatsworth and am always hopeful these things will change; they are super easy to resolve and would make such a difference!

Having to place this review under this page as the name changed to Beachcomber Inn many years ago but for some reason it hasn’t been updated on trip advisor. Me, my husband and stepson recently came to Butlins for the festive wonderland break (in between Christmas and new year) we have been to the beachcomber inn before however it was 2018. On one particular visit it was just me and my husband who came for breakfast. We had toast each, cereal each, a latte and an americano and it came to around £11. It is slightly more expensive than a pub chain outside a resort but that’s fine, it’s to be expected. Nothing really to report on breakfast as it would have been difficult to get wrong! Another visit we came for our lunch.. my stepson just had a bowl of chips as he doesn’t always have the best of appetites, my husband had the mixed grill and I got a jacket potato with chilli and a separate portion of cheese. Unfortunately the cheese was missed off my order so we had to request it and when we originally placed the order for the jacket potato we were told that i could not have one because it was after 3pm however on the menu it does not state this. Anyway to cut a long story short the kind lady behind the bar put the order through for me. It’s an average pub with average pub grub, don’t expect the ritz and you won’t be disappointed l.

What an absolutely gorgeous 3 course Sunday lunch. Cannot fault the food, service and atmosphere. The “Pork& Chorizo” Scotch Egg starter was delicious as were the Scallops my wife had. For main I tucked into one of the best Roast Pork I have ever tasted! For puds there was in my opinion only one item on the menu to pick … Caramelised Apple Crumble with custard … yum yum! Cannot recommend The Old Pheasant enough now it’s under new ownership … big round of applause to Damon and Chef Robert.

I can’t thank Jess and the team enough for their hospitality and care shown to us yesterday for a family event. 43 of us in total. They went the extra mile and couldn’t have done more to help in what has been a tough time for the family recently. I am sad to see the other reviews, as a family we have eaten at this little coffee shop for years. Small local businesses should be supported so they survive. I would go here any day for a coffee and lunch. Thank you Jess x

Keep trying and trying with this chippy - but that is sadly it for us now. The chips were a grey colour - some chewy, some raw ?! You could have eaten the gravy with a knife and fork. Sausage was mediocre but at least edible. So turned out we had an expensive sausage sandwich each at £13 (thank goodness we bought a bread cake too!). My local money will be going elsewhere now sadly.
