Nando's in Derby

The food was great however, the speed of service and lack of communication from the team was not ideal. They brought my brother’s food out 20 minutes before mine so by the time my food came to the table (after I asked), my brother was literally finished his food so we both had to sit there watching each other eat separately essentially. None of the waiters noticed or said anything at all. I’m not the type to complain so I just left it but I’m quite upset about the experience as it’s usually better than this.

The halloumi and mushroom pitta was 1/3 empty!! Not worth it. It should be full with toppings. Spoke to mgmt and she said thats how it is!!! Not good enough.

Awful experience they seem to be okay with serving us burnt food even after the waiter saw we were not happy. There’s a difference between grilled and burnt!!!!!

Nice friendly restaurant, very nice staff and. Nice atmosphere with tasty food. Jay from the Derbion restaurant was the most helpful.

Visited after Easter. Half full on lunch. Loads of staff. Table next to us couple left as we arrived. Their dirty plates still there when we left nearly an hour later. Same throughout the restaurant Food came quickly and was lush as ever

Today, I visited Nandos Derbion with my companion for her annual birthday Nandos. However, we were disappointed to realise that the service was abysmal: an appalling 50 minute wait for our food. We were shocked, considering the diner was sparsely populated, due to the fact it was no longer a persevering hour of day. This left us distraught, as we were wasting away, for what felt like days. Despite this, we still thoroughly enjoyed our meal when it eventually arrived at our table.

Nice welcome on arrival and good food served quickly. The thing which put us off was the dirty cutlery which still had debris on and the cutlery was not washed at a high enough temperature as it was showing water stains. We have experienced this before and have commented on before. The correct washing of cutlery is a very basic hygiene standard.

After an hour of waiting one plate came out. We had to complain before they started making the second meal. It was nearly 2 hours before the food finally arrived and when I started to eat it was stone cold. They offered to give me a voucher and took my details but still not received the voucher and I am not confident that I will receive it.

Food came out butterfly chicken was not a butterfly chicken was the size that fitted into a burger my food went cold waiting for you to you make my wife’s food then you never changed the rice or chips and they were stone cold pathetic excuse of a service

We were served by such a lovely man named Dean, he was amazing, his customer service skills are impeccable. We come quite often but never had a laugh and service like it.☺️

Came here on Tuesday, we had to wait for a table - although be it only 15 minutes, but walking through the restaurant being shown to our table, there were so many empty tables (no exaggeration at all!) we couldn’t believe it. Either way, ordered at the bar, everything we wanted from the menu they had, nice and quick to order. Food came out so so quick! Food was lovely, chips were nice and hot. The server came to check on our table after my husband had completely finished his meal and I only had a few bites left, but was a lovely time! Would certainly come back to this Nando’s :)

Sat on T25 yesterday at lunchtime, boneless thighs full of bones on both our dishes and nobody checked on us during our main to raise this and didn’t want to cause a scene, salt pot was empty, ordered cheesy garlic bread they said yes at the till but when it came out we were told they don’t do it anymore, halloumi was nice and the staff were nice when they did interact with us other than that

We arrived at about 6:30 on a Saturday to be told they weren’t letting anymore people in because the staff hadn’t had their brakes yet 😂 had to laugh a little seeing as it was a Saturday afternoon.

Amazing customer service. The food was delicious, well worth the wait. Reasonably priced since I went during the discount scheme. My only criticism was the sofas, there was food smushed in them, howeverI would eat here again.

My 2nd visit to a Nando’s, and I’ve decided that it’s not my type of food. I had a mixed bean side, to go with chicken main. I wasn’t impressed with the chicken, as the texture was all wrong.

Nando’s can be very hit and miss. This was definitely a miss. None of the salads or greens available. What salad do you have? We have chips..... Chicken certainly wasn’t the best I’ve had at Nando’s. Doubt I would give them a second chance.

Visited Nando’s for a quick chicken meal with a friend. Good food , good service and clean restaurant. It was not busy and were were seated very quick. I would visit again

Pretty disappointed with my visit here yesterday. Service was a bit rubbish. They had only just opened and had about 6 tables. No plates anywhere and when we asked they were sent to a different table. The entire forks and knives were filthy dirty with previous food stuck on them. And I do mean all of the cutlery. Absolutely disgusting and whoever is pot washing here needs to be changed. My table wasn't exactly clean either. Sort it out Nando's.

Visited here on a Friday evening.. The service was poor, you have to order your own food, pour your own drinks and collect your own cutlery. All for the same price of a normal restaurant. The prices are high and for the quality of food, not justified at all. Portion sizes are small (avoid the Caesar salad). Shall not be returning.

I visited Nando’s derby intu today with my VI (visually impaired) friend and Jess the young lady on the till was very helpful, she guided us through the menu and then read out what we had ordered to make sure it was correct, she then carried my bottle of cider to the table for me as I use a crutch to help steady myself!! My friend ordered the olives for starters and they never arrived so I went to the counter and said Jess then brought them over then about 5 minutes later she came back with another bowl of olives and said here these are for the misunderstanding about the starter, both me and my friend were very happy with the experience!!!

Been to this nandos several times, Kieran’s been host and everything. Always working hard and friendly. Food was good definitely will return.

Arrived at 6.30 ona Monday..half the place is empty. Guess what a 25 minutes for a seat. So poor. Was it lack of staff..in which..is this the first Monday of trading???.Don't think so..just poor planning or lack of care. School report:Could do much better.

First time I have had to wait - returned 25 minutes later and was given my table as promised- four adults happy with the food-always consistent at Nando’s I have found staff were friendly and checked everything was good for us.

came here with my family following a theatre visit. The wait for a table was long which made you think the resturant was good . But when we got in there the resurant was running on half capacity we ordered a chicken platter to sharefor 2 and 4 pieces of extra chicken plus sides came to 45 pound two chidren and two adults small portions. service was ok . think they must have been short staffed all the staf there doing their best . But the expiriance only as good as maccdonalds . also toilets were dirty . Husband still hungrey. red hot glasses no ice in ice machine

What can I say positive about this branch. I have aged 2 years after a two hour wait that was supposed to be 45 minutes. Loads of empty tables but for some unknown reason they were never used. Tried to order drinks while we wait and after a brief altercation managed to secure a couple of drink all you like cokes and two beers. When we got our table back to the queue we went to order our food. No chicken butterflies and no glasses for drinks, paper cups issued for the bottomless drinks and plastic for the beer.

On arrival we weren't even acknowledged, we were sent to follow a member of staff who asked if we have visited before, once replied 'yes' we were given menus. Once decided what to order we went to the counter, to which we were informed there will be an hour wait on the butterfly chicken (to which an hour would have been closing time), the manager behind the counter did not recommend anything similar, she simply left us to decide.

Waiting time was atrocious, to then get seated at a table which was free the whole time. Slight issue with the starters not arriving at the same time and then the rude waiter proceeded to throw accusations at my girlfriend saying she ordered incorrectly. Now to the food... garlic bread was like cardboard and chips were awful. The chicken which Nando’s specialise in was horrendously dry and inedible. The chicken wrap also had minimum chicken in. Would not recommend anyone going here unless you want halloumi sticks and have a lot of time to wait for them to rudely deliver it to you.

Went for a meal this evening with my friends, we normally go to nandos in Loughborough but we thought we would go to derby and what a bad decision that was.

Was racially abused by the General Manager there because I highlighted him making a mistake and now I got victimised because I stood up for myself.

You can't fault the place the food is amazing and a good Verity service is fast and easy very comfortable

Visited yesterday with my partner and newborn son. Asked for a discrete table as i was going to be breast feeding and the woman gave us a table with no fuss. When asking for our allergy request staff were helpful and didnt make us feel like an inconvenience. One lad even came over once we had ordered to double check the coleslaw was ok for us to eat. Food came out in a reasonable time, hot and tasty. Unfortunately I didnt get the names of the staff that were so accommodating.

Dropped into Nando’s for lunch and first impressions was good as it’s an inviting setting. However, sadly it was down hill from here and to be quite frank, one of the worst dining experiences we have had in ages! Service wasn’t brilliant, with staff lacking customer skills e.g. smile and engaging contacts? Having placed our order we received our food which consisted simply of a chicken burger with chips. The chicken was dry, and the bun was non descriptive and chips were again bland. Having smothered the food in various sauces to kick some life/taste into the meal, unfortunately we ended up not finishing the meal and having paid over £24.00 for this with two cold drinks, we felt disappointed and ripped off. So in summary! Don’t think we’ll be going back here and would recommend others to spend their money elsewhere where you could get a better meal for half these prices at Nando’s.

We enjoy Nandos when we are in the INTU, formerly Westfield Centre in Derby. Plenty of Parking, excellent facilities and of course, Chicken, Sides and bottomless Coke. The sweets are a little disappointing, we don't usually bother.

First visit here. Staff were super helpful considering I didn’t know what I was ordering. The restaurant was lovely, clean, nice and bright. Will Definitely return with the family.

We came in with a group of friends to have dinner. We went to the counter to order drinks first, I wanted a bottle of beer and I’ve been asked to show my ID. After that I was told I can’t have an alcoholic drink without ordering a main meal at the same time, so I just got bottomless soft drink. We sat down and waited for more people to join. One of our friends sat down with a glass of wine to which I asked whether she’s ordered her meal and she said no. I was a bit confused as they told me it was their policy to order alcoholic drink only with a meal, so how is it possible my friend ordered an alcoholic drink without ordering a meal?? I’d say if you have some licensing rules at least stick to them and apply them to everyone.

The service was good the wings were questionable, my friend and I went for the wing roulette and all of them seemed to have the same mild taste, very disappointing

So I ordered a full meal platter, and the chicken was burnt, it was very disappointing, as normally this Nando’s branch is pretty decent, however the whole chicken that comes with the platter was burnt, it shouldn’t have been served anyway. Very disappointed

The usual great service and food from Nando’s, this restaurant situated in the intu shopping centre Derby. The place was mega busy on our visit, but we didn’t need to wait long for our food. I would certainly return again when shopping at Derby.

Myself, my sister and my mum went into Nando’s for some food after a lovely evening Christmas shopping. We placed our order at the counter with one of the managers explaining that it would be cheaper to buy a bottle of wine instead of 2 glasses which we thought was great. He then would not serve us this bottle purely because we did not order main meals, although we made meals up with starters and sides. After questioning this, both managers on shift were extremely rude and became visibly angry. I asked for a refund and we left as we were appalled by the service, however they still would not refund us the full amount. Will not be visiting this establishment again!

Good service - we didn't have to wait long. The food was quite quick and good. They even gave me a free t-shirt after getting completely covered in piri piri sauce.

Went today with my daughter and not too sure who served us think his name was Dale he had tattoos on his neck but he actually went through the menu with me as I have coeliac / gluten allergy and assured me that everything would be cleaned and my food would be served separately to avoid any cross contamination. Then as soon as we went to que we seen him go and tell them behind the counter then he came round to serve us separately. Really appreciated this as it’s very rare you get service like that!!! Also food was great :)

First time ever been to nandos not a big fan of chicken wife wanted to go so when we arrived shown to a seat and explained how it works ordered from menu it's a bit strange how it's like a fast food restaurant with part table service both chicken dishes were cooked well different selection of beers and ciders liked trying the different peri peri sauces on offer had to go out and buy some, first time won't be last

We visited the restraunt on 25th of this month and I can honestly say it was the most enjoyable meal out our family has ever had thanks to the manager Scott. Myself and my younger daughter both suffer with food allergies and when the big book of allergies turned up I thought here we go again! The manager took over our food orders and I can hand on heart say we have never had such detail to ensuring our food was prepared and served with care and dignity, I say dignity because we generally get a huge flag on a cocktail stick stating our allergies but this was removed before being brought to us. This gentleman even ensured all our cutlery was straight from the kitchen and brought out a brand new pack of napkins rather than using the ones from the general display. The meal was good and the other staff seemed pleasant and polite but I can honestly say this gent went above and beyond. We will definitely be returning. Nando’s!!! This manager is brilliant and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves for not only taking food allergies very seriously but for making us feel like every day customers with his disgresion and customer care which we rarely get, thank you Scott

Of the 2 places in Derby, this one has faster service, maybe its cause they want you in and out . Never had a bad meal here. I have the mild chicken lol

Always found this restaurant to be ace. Always catered to my big table demands often around 15 people on a busy Friday/ Saturday night. Staff always really pleasant and friendly. I had a table for around 12 people on August 17th at about 7pm and the staff were great food came out pretty much at the same time, they did warn us that this may not be the case as its a big table, the staff were helpful & chatty, helped sing happy birthday to one of the ladies. Food came out hot & all correct! Scott who served us was great. Thank all the staff!

We have loved Nando’s in the past. I used to visit the restaurants in South Africa. Thought we would try it again. Very disappointed. Food was ok but they have changed how they make certain dishes. Chicken livers had no sauce. We were reimbursed but I’d of rather they cooked it properly. Rice under cooked. Chicken was ok. Waiter was a lovely young man.

I must admit to having been a Nando's fan for about the last 25 years. I used to pick up a half chicken and chips plus a Portuguese side salad on many Friday evenings in South Africa on my way home from work.

I do like a nice Nando’s but it has been a few years since I last visited. My family took me as a treat for Father’s Day and we arrived just before opening time.

First and last visit to Nando Derby, no cutlery had to wait for it to come from the dishwasher no tomato ketchup, tables not cleared after courses. Expensive for what you get and considering you have to do all the hard work, order get your own cutlery and condiments. Not impressed

The staff are so rude! Giving us dirty looks and refusing to get us straws etc. Very disappointed P.S Pizza Hut tastes nicer

We can accept waiting a while to be seated (even though there was no que and tables ready), we can accept it takes a while to take your order but miserable looking staff costs nothing and someone checking on the toilets now and then helps. Fed up of going to these chains of restaurants and they don’t get the cleanliness of the toilets is important, especially tissue and soap being available! The whole experience was not nice.

I love nandos it is my favourite eatery! Been to this branch serveral times with friends , family and as a couple. Love the Food!! Very cheap. Do take outs too! Desserts are also nice! Would prefer if there was proper waitery serves instead of going up to order. The mango and lime and lemon and herb spices are Lovely!! Most of the time waiting 10-15 mins for a seat but expected as in a busy shopping centre. Actually didn't realise till about 2 weeks ago it is a portuguse restaurant. Located in the upper part of the centre where there is a cinema, bowling alley and golf course nearby which is brill for a family night out!!

Arrived at the entrance. No-one at the reception area. No sign "Wait to be seated". 3 or so minutes, person arrived: "First time at Nando's?". Said yes and shown to table.Tried to place order - explained that you order from counter. A random crowd of customers at the counter, indeterminate queue. Evntually sorted and ordered.

We are regular visitors to Nandos and always find the food absolutely delicious and waiters very friendly. I've given a 4 as it is quite pricey for what it is however that doesn't stop us from repeatedly visiting.

I was bought a Nando’s voucher for my birthday as I had never been. It was Wednesday 6th December at 17:30. We were told there would be a 25 minute wait but ok. We were invited through after about 10 minutes. We have never been to Nando’s and no one explained that you had to get everything yourself.

Two nandos in Derby this one isn't very good, the other one near the Assembly room s is the one to visit, tried it twice just out of local easy access for shopping and car park and disappointed both times.

After waiting for 20 minutes for our food in a very quiet Nando's, our food came out cold and lacking...

Usual rubbish - bland main that was hopefully covered by tart sauce. Waiting staff tried to move me on as quick as possible.

Expect a 20 minute wait for a table but it's worth the wait!!

However after a 10 minute wait for a table, the mood of the waitress taking order was poor and she was quite rude and then after being seated for 25 minutes they came and told that the veggie option had run out. As we went to leave we found we had still been charged for our drinks, if we would have been sat for less time we would have been happy to pay but it was frankly insulting to expect us to pay for anything. Not a good visit...

Left for 25 minutes only to be told what what we had ordered wasn't in stock. In itself pretty bad but then when we were told we would be refunded were charged for the drinks we had while we waited.

Whether it’s a wings platter to share or a chicken wrap it’s always a great meal particularly after a day at Intu Derby shopping centre. The choice of sides is a particular hit with us. We mix and match them differently but always good! When in the mood for a particularly hot lunch we make sure we finish off with bottomless yoghurt, there’s always a different flavour!

Not been impressed with Nandos before, but after a little wait for a table, my son and I was seated, food ordered and didn't take to long to arrive, must say I found he meal very enjoyable and would return for another visit

Got there just after 12pm on a Saturday just before it got busy and a queue for tables formed. Ordered the half chicken, chips & spicy rice. Food was really tasty, went for the medium hot-ness which wasn't too hot, may try the hotter sauce next time. Only slight negative was the amount of chicken, was expecting literally half a chicken but received what looked like a quarter plus another piece which is hard to describe.It's also good how you can rack up 'chillies' on each visit if you have a Nando's card, after one more visit we'll be able claim a free dish, good stuff!

Place was quite full. I was the oldest by some distance (nearly 60). Staff were very helpful and friendly. The place had a good vibe - the younger diners were having a great time. All a bit uninspiring for me.

Visited at a very busy time i suppose, 6pm friday. Had to wait for table,,not too long about 15/20 minutes. Advise anyone to book in advance,,i will next time. After ordering food came after app 20 minutes. As stated earlier, it was busy. Chips were fantastic,,Garlic bread superb , Both were hot temperature ,,i dont mean seasoning" hot" we ordered mild peri peri,,,that was great. Unfortunately the chicken was only warm. Plates were very cold, which may be the chicken had been placed whilst waiting for the other items. Still very nice. This is a busy restaurant in the Intu Centre. We'd clearly hit the start of freshers week as there were lots of 20 somethings with cash burning a hole in their pockets.Despite this we didn't have to wait long for our food which was scrumptious as always.By the time we left a queue had formed outside the restaurant. We were there for just after 12 noon and had finished by 1 o'clock.

Went for lunch and restaurant was very busy. Lots of youngsters enjoying a lunch before they restart school.New decor is nice and food as good as normal.Staff struggling to keep up with demands and it took ten minutes in a long line to order and then 25 minutes to get the food.Two negatives this time cutlery was not washed properly and the only hand dryer did not work in the toilets.

To us a day out at Intu wouldn't be complete without Nando's. Must have the wings platter to share every time. Tried a wrap this time and added portobello mushrooms to it which was delicious! Also tried the sweet potato mash and loved it!

Food was great once everything arrived, however 1 meal came wrong, so was taken away while everyone else either eat or left theirs to go cold! Then one of the sides did not arrive until we chased. The restaurant was not busy so you could is this to defend the staff☹️

My great niece had left her phone on a bus which was found by the driver and handed in at Derby bus station. As I live in Derby I collected it and my niece, drove from Chesterfield to collect it from me. We did some shopping in Derby and then decided to have dinner together. We had both been to Nando's many times so knew about the menu etc. We had pitta bread and hummus to share to start with and then a whole chicken to share with side orders of fries, coleslaw and corn on the cob. We must have been hungry and the food good as we left very little. The staff were friendly and attentive.

When on Sunday with my boyfriend, service was slow with food, staff were being inappropriate with each other ( shouting across the restaurant) I'm pretty sure I heard a few swearing.... when we arrived I could see into the kitchen somebody was putting things in the microwave didn't feel me with confidence that the food was fresh The air conditioner was on too cold and the music playing was too loud It wasn't overly busy as it was about 8:30pm when we arrived and there was loads of dirty tablets with old food and dirty plates on When my food arrived it was ok... wasn't the best piece of chicken, it had a big pump of fat on the side Overall disappointed with Nando's that evening, will be visiting again but not in a hurry :(

We recently attended for my daughters 9th birthday.When we arrived, we were told that wings were off the menu, it wasn't too much of a problem. What we ordered was correct but my husband did find that his double chicken burger was dry. After the main course we were waiting for the dessert of which I had to go to the counter to ask for and 30 mins to arrive in total, during the wait no one came to clear our table. On the whole my daughter was happy.

Went here recently, its a lot nicer since its been refurbished, if you like spicy chicken you can't go wrong, food was good and was bought out quickly. I do think it would be better if they took orders at the table rather than queue up at the counter, the staff are there to bring out the food.

Took the family to Nando's as a treat for my youngest who likes all things chicken. We were greeted and seated, but nothing was explained about ordering at the bar, not even anything on the table or menu. Never been before, is this wrong!! Ordered what said on the menu as Two chicken breasts. It came and was the size of one butterflied chicken breast. Sauces all fine. Chips and rice okay but very small portions. The kids enjoyed it but won't be going back.

Decided to try Nando's as I love chicken and spicy food so I wanted to see why it is so popular. We can do most of the options but they are cooked on the same grill as the rest of the food. But that will be okay as it burns the wheat off doesn't it. No mate it flipping does not! IT CONTAMINATES MY FOOD it is not rocket science. It has to be cooked separately USING separate utensils on a separate grill I am not being awkward this is serious stuff the same as if you poison me! If there is more than 20 part per million of wheat, rye or barley I will spend hours sat on a toilet. CAN A NATIONAL ORGANISATION LIKE NANDOS GET THIS THROUGH THEIR THICK SKULL! This is a disgrace and I will post it everywhere!

Went to nandos a couple fo weeks ago with friends, I am not the biggest nando's fan anyway but decided to go with the majority of the group who love nandos. I was really disappointed that when I asked for sweet potato fries and cheesecake for dessert, I was told they were out of stock of both, so I chose another side and fray dessert. It was a busy saturday evening so I did understand that they may have sold out.Later on in the night however, the table beside ours cleared, and a couple sat down, and just as our mains were being cleared, theirs arrived - to my surprise what side did they have?! sweet potato fries. Not super impressed that I coudln't have them, when clearly they did have some in stock.Same thing with the cheesecake - as we were walking out of the doors, a waitress walked past carrying cheesecake.What we did have was okay enough, but it isn't really what I wanted to order, and was disappointed when subsequent diners did get those "out of stock" items.

Nandos is a favorite eatery of ours, I first came across Nandos in South Africa and it has been a favourite ever since. My wife has a taste for hot chillies - far hotter than I can take so the various levels of "Heat" provided by Nandos is excellent. Even our children love to eat there.
