Stayed here when visiting friends. As you will see from the photographs, it is very poorly kept. There was a very large spider when we arrived and the person who booked us in was less than friendly. Food was okay although no breakfast was provided. Would not recommend this place at all. Heating also went on the blink so we were brought an electric heater until they could fix the boiler. Money needs to be spent here urgently.

Had to wait a while for booking in and out, staff walked past us but didn’t acknowledge us for a while. (They were young). The room was a double room but was the size of a single. The en-suite was dated with fluff in the shower. We had to leave after the first night of 2 due to family issues and requested a manager call us regarding a possible cancellation but they did not call us back… won’t stay there again….

We went here yesterday for our daughter's birthday. There were 16 of us in total including 7 children and one toddler. We were really impressed and would definitely recommend it. The staff were very friendly, polite and attentive. They went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed and that we were happy. They gave complimentary champagne to my daughter and there were lots of treats for the children too. Colouring books and crayons, bubble wands, streamers and balls and even a little doll for our grand daughter. All of that before the food. Most of us opted for the roast dinner and it was excellent. Well cooked and piping hot. One of our grandsons had the lamb pie which looked lovely and he said was great. Sadly we didn't try the desserts as we had our own birthday cake but I am sure they would have been good. Thanks for a great meal. We will come back.

Called up at 5.30pm for a table last minute and despite last meal orders being at 6pm the lady on the phone said that's fine so we went along and ordered straight away. Lovely warm welcome in a good olde English characterful pub and the best Sunday roast we've all had in a long time. Will definitely be back. Great service too.

I arrived late afternoon and stayed overnight prior to and early morning start for a wildlife venture, leaving before the start of breakfast delivery. The evening meal was very tasty and the service excellent. The rooms were comfortable enough for a short stay of a few days, and as important, it was quite. A take away breakfast bag was provided with a variety of goodies therein. Arriving at my destination early the following morning I was horrified to find that I was missing my reading specs, presumably left in the room. A telephone call to The Wishing Well that evening located them and they were returned to me by special delivery within two days. Thank you Sav and the team, great service. I hope to return again in the near future.

Sunday lunch was tasty, 2 had pork which looked lovely, 2 had beef which was tasty. Its a shame that during this traumatic time we could not get to choose our food at the buffets which used to be lovely. There was a good variety of veg, roast potatoes ( would have like mash but not given choice). Child offered small size dinner, she doesn't eat meat but was give a dinner with vegetarian sausages which we didnt ask for but never mind the dog got a treat when we got home.It was very busy so service was slow they did apologise for the delays between courses and taking drinks orders but to be honest it didnt spoil the experience. Appeared to be good safety measures in place.

We decided to camp here due to a family connection with Bourne. The campsite has electric hook ups but no other real facilities and may be a more appropriate option for a caravan than the tent we took. However we were more than welcome to use the toilets in the pub which was available from fairly early in the morning. This wasn't really a problem for us but I wouldn't want to stay for longer than a weekend due to the lack of washing facilities. This is completely reflected in the price which was extremely reasonable. Also the campsite is beautiful. We were lucky with the weather but saw lots of stars due to the lack of light pollution. A real treat. When we arrived on Friday evening we ate at the pub. The food was genuinely excellent and reasonably priced. The halloumi fries were the best I've ever had and the spaghetti bolognese was delicious and the children ate it up.We ate again for sunday lunch. Again the food was lovely. So the campsite was lovely and the food was great. But the thing that stood out and the reason that we will definitely return is the service. Nothing was too much trouble for Sav and his team. They weren't overbearing but we always felt looked after. From colouring books and pencils for the children to the use of plastic glasses so we could take drinks to the campsite there was nothing they didn't offer to help. The quality of the food was very high and the setting glorious. Thank you so much for giving us an excellent weekend away.

The new management took over The Wishing Well (a lovely country pub with oak beams galore), in early July and opened in early August, (very brave after the natonal covid lock down!).My wife and I booked in for 2 nights. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the attractive and vivacious, Elsie, and shown to our room. The room was clean and cosy, with nice white fluffy towels in the toilet/shower room. We had 2 evening meals there meals there - both of which were well presented and delicious, and served by very friendly and efficient staff. Philip was particularly friendly. We understood when we booked that breakfast was continental (Fine! We have had some lovely continental breakfasts elsewhere.). On the first morning we ate (by request) in the pub. Nothing was set out. We were brought toast and croissants, and then asked if we wanted any cereal!, For the second morning`s breakfast, after our evening meal, we were given a brown paper bag each with orange juice, crisps and croissants in. What a let down! My wife and I would love to stay here again and are "wishing" that Sav and team will take the provision of breakfast, much more seriously, and get it "well" sorted!

I went back to the Wishing Well a week after they re-opened and what a disappointment. Under new management and I have to say in all honesty that one of the new managers is very unprofessional. Very bossy to all the staff and constantly chewing gum! Where have all the lovely old staff gone? They had the best waiter working there, so hard working and such a well mannered young man with a lovely personality and he was excellent with all the punters. All I can say is I don't think I will be frequenting this place any more, sad to say.

Went tonight for our first post lockdown meal. Found that the pub has recently been taken over by new owners only a few weeks prior, the owners introduced themselves and told us a little about their future plans for the place. Was a really friendly atmosphere. Food was absolutely amazing, we ordered three courses which did not disappoint. Food was brought out quickly. After we ate our mains we played some pool and darts. Staff were happy for us to order and eat our desserts in the pool area. Pub has loads of space inside which is great for social distancing and hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes were located at various points around the pub. There is also a one way system in place to enable social distancing. Overall it seemed a very lovely, friendly pub with great potential and welcoming staff. It is also worth noting that they do bed and breakfast there and there is a large car park around the back.

On arrival we were greeted well. Starters were good. But the mains not so good. 2 of our party had Turkey which was fine but let down by roast potatoes, which tastied like they had been on a servary all day then reheated. My beef also had an odd taste.Dessert was no better. 2 of our party had cheesecake which was fine. But my husband and I had the chocolate torte. Which was dry and had a unpleasant taste. Also a large piece of Cinnamon stick covered in sauce and chocolate could have proved painful if eaten. Cheese board very bland. Its such a shame as last year was brilliant. Let's hope it's a one off as food here is usually lovely.

We stayed at the Wishing Well Inn for one night. Staff were all very friendly and pub is very quaint, with exposed wooden beams and roaring open fire. As you’d expect for such an old pub, the floorboards were a bit squeaky and walls a bit thin (judging by the snoring from the next room), but beds were comfy and clean and all had a good nights sleep. Only real blip was the Chef. Food was good, don’t get me wrong (general pub fayre), but he or she is obviously a bit tight. Three of us ordered lasagne, accompanied by salad and garlic bread, but asked For chips instead of salad (fatties that we are). Chef decided the garlic bread would go instead without telling us. Same thing in the morning, when 3 poached eggs turned into two in the blink of an eye. Seems a small and silly thing to do, but perhaps this review will change their ways and win an extra poached egg for the next weary traveller who’s just worked at 15hr day.

We visited the restaurant earlier today as a party of 14, it was pre booked weeks ago for a special occasion. We had been told this would be perfect for our lunch, when we arrived first impressions were good, however it was soon obvious that the venue was overwhelmed, there were already 2 large parties dining, there were 2 waiters/ servers actually taking care of 30 plus people at the busiest time of the day. Having booked for 1.30 our food did not get to us until 2.10, then it was poorly presented, not hot but tepid, it was a self serve on the vegetables that to be honest were second rate, in fact we have eaten better for less. As we were guests and not wanting to complain we just kept quite, after eating mains it took 30 mins to clear and order desert. It then took another 20 mins plus to get our afters. The poor lad who was serving us was definitely under supported and in fact deserved a medal today. We will not be re-visiting which is a real shame as this is 20 mins from our house. Rate the overall experience as 4/10Poor show.

My family and I called for a meal here on the way home from a lovely day out at Grimsthorpe castle. What a shame we called there. A dark dingy place. The carvery looked like it had been stood for hours and although a half hearted attempt had been made to cover the food with tin foil on the carvery itself. The door next to it was wide open and the flies were floating around and landing on the pieces of meat that had not been covered properly. Even as we were eating in the pub area there were so many flies buzzing around that it actually put us off the food which was pretty poor anyway. It was the most expensive horrible sunday carvery I have had . Another thing that was poor was that the table had not been cleaned from whoever had been sat there prior to us so you were in danger of being permanently stuck there as the table was so sticky. Definately would not recommend coming here for a drink and certainly not the food if you want a nice meal.

Recently stayed there and thought the guesthouse could be a great place but the management team need some attention to detail. The car park is strewn with rubbish and surrounded by overgrown weeds. There is broken wood and rubbish piled up outside the back of the pub (this is the main entrance) and the bin store is overflowing. The most off putting point is that as you approach the pub from the car park the place stinks of rotting rubbish which is very uninviting indeed. Directly outside the back of the pub there are empty barrels and again more rubbish. Food wise the breakfast we had was ok and we and evening meal which was again ok at the price point offered. Meal offers something for all we thought. The room we had was small and the mattress was very thin and tired. The room was not very clean with mould growing in the shower and stained carpets. The main complaint we had with the room was the noise of the floors above us. Every time someone moves in the rooms above you are woken. They have a pool table and the door is left open and all we could hear was swearing and shouting. Whilst this is a pub it also provides accommodation and some guests want to sleep. I wouldn’t return because the place needs a team of cleaners from top to bottom and an attention to detail on the rooms that guests expect. The front of house team are lovely and to be fair the kitchen staff are doing a reasonable job. As for housekeeping and grounds maintenance, sack them and start again before they ruin what business you do have.

The Wishing Well has had a makeover, but I’m glad to say it has still changed very little in the 26 years we have been visiting -all wooden beams and stone walls. Not long returned from a 2 night stay due to business interests in the area. This is my second stay at The Wishing Well and was again thoroughly pleasant. The Inn is charming, cosy and hospitable - I was originally booked in for 2 nights before the Beast from the East struck. The management without question or charge changed my dates as I was unable to drive due to the hazardous road conditions. I love the ambiance of the pub and had two wonderful cooked breakfasts (included in the price of my stay) as well as one very tasty evening meal. My bedroom was cosy with the usual tea making facilities and a choice of numerous tv channels to relax after a long day of work. I had two very small niggles with my room - for some reason on the second night of my stay I heard an extractor fan which seemed to go off continually and was not in my bedroom. My other small niggle was the mattress when being disturbed by the extractor fan I seemed to tune in to the springs within the mattress - I guess a year ago having changed my home mattress to a Leesa memory foam mattress I have found my sleeping on coil or pocket sprung a different sleeping experience. Anyhow despite these minor gripes my overall experience of this place is very positive and I have little doubt I will return when next working in the area.

2 of us called in for Oap lunch. Took ages to take order, decided on roast of the day which as we appeared to be the only ones there was disappointing when it turned up almost cold and on cold plates expected better than this . Hope it improves as a lovely old fashioned pub.

I was very keen to try out the menu at the newly refurbished Wishing Well and really wanted it to be “Good". The food was average not excellent and the chips had ever been cooked three times,. Choices were decidedly average and desserts are nothing special. Even if the menu is small and basic it should be exceptional not average.

I was very keen to try out the menu at the newly refurbished Wishing Well and really wanted it to be “excellent” under its new owners BUT unfortunately it was so very ordinary. I dispute that the chips had ever been cooked three times, they’d barely been cooked once. I’m not sure what meat was in the burger. My taste buds tell me it was a blend of minced beef, minced pork and liver. I defy anybody to tell me differently. There were several things not available on the main menu. Choices were decidedly average and desserts are nothing special.

A traditional inn with accommodation, quite cosy. Jacob, of Polish extract, runs the place and is a really nice guy, clearly striving to make the restaurant a success. Although a Monday it was quite busy and food was the attraction. There was a large family group in who appeared very pleased with their dinner.

On arrival we weren't sure whether it was fully open as there was no one to be seen or heard. It has been years since I have stepped foot in the pub so it was gratifying to see the refurbishment and internal transformation, good work and tastefully done. When we were finally serviced they were very efficient. The food was pub grub you would expect, however was very tasty. I would recommend.

Last minute decision to eat out for Sunday lunch and knew the Wishing Well served a carvery. Were a bit worried that late afternoon the food may have been sitting for a while but we were very wrong. Tasty meat choices with Yorkshire pudding, two types of potato and a good range of vegetables all served with lashings of piping hot gravy! We will definitely return.

Fabulous, that's how we felt after our recent visit. It wasn't the 1st time here and certainly will not be the last. This is a very well presented place with lovely old features in and out. Lots of seating if you want to eat or just have a quiet drink both in the restaurant areas or the bar, there is also lots of outside seating and a small conservatory area with sofas, and a play area for children. The staff are plentiful, attentive and very polite, but the food.... you will not be disappointed, try the Sunday carvery and you will be going back for more every week.

Lovely food , shame service wasn’t quite as good. There were annoying gaps in the service due to lack of vigilance by the staff. This can marr an otherwise pleasant eating experience .

Hadn't been here for a while now changed hands. Still seems dark but that is the fault with the building. The roast dinner was lovely. meat is carved for you by a friendly young man and from a choice of three then you help yourself to the veg, gravy etc. Was pleased to wee that you got a large crispy yorkshire pudding no matter what meat you had. Pudding were okay. Very good value, will come agin.

Always and still a popular venue- we stayed in for two nights in s small but immaculately clean and well serviced room. So clean we thought it must have been redecorated but told not so.Not the room space of a premier inn, but large car park, room that was in all other aspects than space excellent, lovely welcome, and breakfasts that were superb and freshly cooked to order.

Six of us booked for Saturday night. The place was full, but no problems. Everyone enjoyed their starters, particularly the Thai crap cakes, and I wished I'd chosen the rolled belly pork when I saw it. Our American cousin was delighted with his sirloin steak but all the food and drink was good. Service excellent.

We stopped on the caravan site at the rear of the inn which was good for the price and on our first night decided to have a meal and a few drinks. The menu was OK although the prices were a little high (from our perspective). There was 4 of us and the ladies had a bottle of nice wine while we boys had a couple of beers. We ordered 3 belly pork and one halibut. We got a fair sized piece of pork (one of which still had the string round it) on top of a similar sized circle of mash with a small spoon of red cabbage, 2 miniature carrots and 4 green beans and a splat of butternut squash purée for around £15. The halibut was the size of 2 small fingers with one small croquet potato and red cabbage for £16. This did nothing really to fill us so we ordered a sweet at £6 each and thenPaid the bill at £108+ a bit steep we thought as we went back to our caravans for a home made G+T.The place was pleasant and the staff friendly but we felt it was a little over the top for a quick meal out and the fact that the portion sizes were very small on all of our opinions.

This is the second time I've visited the restaurant whilst staying with my parents in Lincs. Along with the friendly welcome and attentive staff, the food never fails to exceed expectations! All four of us ordered from the Sunday carvery - meat done to perfection along with a good selection of lovely vegetables and two types of potato. The "icing on the cake" came with dessert though - I ordered the chocolate brownie with cream. The brownie was created to perfection - perfect consistency of goey chocolate and was delicious! Even though I was full, I could easily have devoured another! I really hope that they keep this as a permanent fixture on the dessert menu and I look forward to having another next time I visit my parents!

We have stayed here three or four times, but not since the new management took over last autumn. We were very impressed with the food. The menu wasn't too big and over ambitious (which always worries me) but a selection of a dozen or so main courses which they obviously knew they could produce well. The butternut squash and Stilton pancake was absolutely delicious. My husband's French trimmed pork chop, likewise. The second evening I had a delicious glazed chicken breast with interesting vegetable accompaniments. My husband had a more than acceptable fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked in a lovely light, crispy batter. We would definitely eat here again.

Popped in on a Sunday to try their sunday lunch . Will definitely go back . Lots of veg , choice of beef or pork. Other dishes available on their chalkboard including vegetarian. Service was very good . Please give it a go , you won't be disappointed. Also , the bar has a great choice of ales which are in great nick.

The food and the hospitality were great, the steak was to die for and I would have given it 5 stars, however having been shopping at Tesco and found out the bottle of wine we had was on sale at £8.50, to have been charged £38.00! was just too much over the top. It’s a shame as it has soured the experience.
