This has got to be the best value and quality carvery for many miles, the place is spotless the staff busy ,efficient and friendly....there is nothing not to like.

A soulless establishment, in my view. Some of the staff are friendly and helpful, others not so. I had a burger on one occasion. Poor. Tasteless and overcooked. A side of chips on another occasion was fine. A friend says the fish and chips are good value. I don't know.

Came to ferry boat for dinner and the staff was very friendly, food was nice and my son said he would rate 1000 stars if he could pick that many. Fantastic service. Definitely will come again

Well what a sad review to write. The team have been pulled apart under the closure terms, many of which have been made redundant from a career they have worked in for decades. Until the news it has always been great food and great service. Understandable that they slipped a bit given the circumstances. Thank you all for your years of service to us all. All the best for the whole team for the future. Derby will miss The Mallard!

Food fantastic, beautiful place however staff need to work on their customer service and attitude, a smile goes a long way. As someone who has worked in customer serivce for 10 years I was expecting more.

Excellent whiskey and local/guest beer and cider menus and the food alone is worth the trip. Lovely atmosphere with the open fire and original features, would only benefit from sealing the doors shut to prevent a draught but that might cause a problem with access... One of the best pubs in Nottingham.

I hired out the upstairs part of Old House on saturday for a Surprise engagement party, All of the team and staff were very helpful with the whole process and made sure everyone had a brilliant night. I looked into a few options and the refurb they’ve done upstairs made it an easy choice for me. 100% recommend to anyone looking to host a party or gathering! Thanks all

This pub has been closed for several months with no indication of when it might open again. Myself and many others visited regularly and feel let down

This is a CASHLESS venue so avoid, avoid, avoid! If you support CASH use. At least three parties trying to pay cash within a few hours and all REFUSED. Will never visit again until Cash is accepted in payment. Food is mediocre: pre-salted chips, limited desert menu. Fizzy drinks were served from a plastic bottle at premium prices! Not all are draught. Atmosphere: noisy trains every few mins as literally right next to a mainline railway. Bland. A bit disorganised and chaotic service.

This is a great bar and snooker place.. always gr8 to visit.

Great pub, although I was once told “We are not a chicken wing kind of place”. I truly believe you can judge a place on there chicken wings and Halloumi fries…

Superb, one of the best meals in a long time. Starter: cheese and pickle scotch egg was very tasty Main: flat iron, chips and carrots, so much meat and cooked perfectly, tasted amazing, chips really nice and the carrots were the star, beautifully flavoured . Dessert: cheesecake, so good! Staff very friendly good speed of service Highly recommend

My favourite food from your place is half chicken with masala chips . My friends had their popular t bone steak and they loved it .I will highly recommend this place for their steaks and half chicken . Thank you for your nice hospitality 😁
