Love this Pub Little pricey , but not full of stupid screaming adolescences

We went for drinks and some games of pool was fun gad a bit of a dance good times.

Truly, the most friendly and accommodating pub on the Welly Road. Met up with family lunch with a party of 15, hosted in a private room upstairs with excellent service, food and drinks. Thank you Old House for making our family reunion so special.

First time here and won’t be my last. Really good food and amazing service! Really clean, smells great and a lovely place for a Sunday dinner.

I hired out the upstairs part of Old House on saturday for a Surprise engagement party, All of the team and staff were very helpful with the whole process and made sure everyone had a brilliant night. I looked into a few options and the refurb they’ve done upstairs made it an easy choice for me. 100% recommend to anyone looking to host a party or gathering! Thanks all

After a last minute cancellation for another venue. Cat was so accommodating and allowed me to view and book the venue all within the same day. During our party the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Cat was on standby for any questions or needs and checked in on us through the setting up process and the following day. I couldn’t recommend this venue enough and will definitely be using old house again. Thank you cat and your team x

Our favourite bar. Fantastic staff and atmosphere blessed this is our local. We came today for bottomless brunch.... amazing DJ playing whilst we eat and drink the best food and cocktails 5* all the way. ❤️

We had our sons 18th Birthday party upstairs, the room was ideal lovely decorated and plenty of space with tables and chairs toilets upstairs which meant we didn’t have to go down to the bar so safe for under18’s/children The staff were so friendly and helpful, communication was constant while trying to sort bits out, I would definitely recommend this as a venue I can’t wait for another big party in the family so I can book the room again Thankyou so much

Best bar and restaurant in Northampton! Looks absolutely incredible after the refurb, there’s always an amazing atmosphere! Live music and the best DJs most Fridays and Saturdays! Excellent cocktails and delicious food, and all staff are extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. Definitely recommend going if you’re in Northampton!

Ah I love this place. The new (ish) refurb is brilliant . Cool bar / club vibes downstairs and a contemporary delightful bright restaurant upstairs. Afternoon tea is lovely too! There’s a small door charge later on the weekend but to be honest it keeps the idiots out. 😂 Sorry my fellow northamptonians but you know …. Garden is ace too especially when the sun is shining!

Decided to book a team meal at the Old House Restaurant for a team outing. The staff were friendly and attentive. There were 10 of us in total having starters and mains. The food was perfectly cooked, good sized potions and everyone was served at the same time. The team had a great time and we'd definitely recommend it.

It was my first time visiting and i will definitely be back! I took my Mum for mother’s day and we both had an amazing time. The service was perfect, the waitresses were very attentive and created a friendly atmosphere. We each had three courses of the mothers day menu and the food is to die for!

1st visit here. Will definitely be back. Absolutely beautiful decor and very clean. mother’s day 3 course meal. with 3 little ones. starter was amazing. main was even better, dessert was spot on. service was impeccable. Staff could do not do enough. Only slight niggle, the amount of time between courses was longer than i’d expected. This did not impact our experience at all.

Best roast dinner i have had in a long time!! Came here with mum for mother’s day and was treated so well, no faults at all!! Food, service and decoration was amazing. Will definitely be back. 10000% recommend.

Great atmosphere in this pub went for dinner with friends and family had a Camembert and crab linguine, amazing! Staff always kind and attentive and know how to make great drinks, wife definitely enjoyed herself. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to treat themselves to something a bit more than a standard meal out at a chain.

Went for a Christmas meal which was pre booked and paid for. We waited 30 minutes to be seated and then an hour for the starter and another hour for the main and another hour for the desert. Ridiculous, if I hadn't pre paid I would have left because it was painful how slow the service was.

First time visiting here on Sunday. The food was amazing, the beef was served just how I like it & the Yorkshire puddings were really big. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was just perfect! Well worth a visit and I will definitely be going back again.

Attended a 21st birthday party here, apart from being upstairs, it is a great space, perfect for this kind of event. Not sure if there is a lift, so if you have mobility problems this might be a problem. Once upstairs there are toilets and seating upstairs. Would recommend.

Food was okay, not great, service was good, but upstairs wallpaper of squashed bees was a little disturbing.

We go for a Christmas meal every year. This year we decided to try a restaurant over a specific venue set for Christmas. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing. The starters, mains and dessert were all delightful. We had a mixture of dietary requirements including vegetarian and they were all catered for. Amazing service throughout. We will be back again very soon. I would definitely recommend.

I booked the Private Dining Room for my husband’s 40th Birthday, for 25 of our family and friends. From the moment I first enquired, the whole process I can’t commend highly enough. The service and attention to detail I received was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. On the evening of the party, Cat the manager and the staff made sure everything went smoothly for the surprise, and made sure everyone was happy at all times. The venue itself is just stunning, perfect setting for an amazing and special celebration. Thank you Old House!

I went here as part of a large group for Xmas dinner. The staff were friendly but the food was poor. £35 a head for a smoked salmon starter which was literally one bite. Turkey ok but no gravy and cranberry sauce one pot for 10 people. Dessert clearly frozen and tasteless. It could be a bad experience because of a group booking. Far better food pubs locally.

Nice pub on the Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Great selection of Lagers (not cheap at £8 pint Peroni) but good atmosphere. My only other dig ... They didn't take cash. With the ever greater threat of Government (centrally) controlled digital currency, cash needs to be accepted and accessible in as many places as possible, otherwise we'll all be at the behest of the Government's crackpot net zero whims and carbon footprint mantra.

Not bad for food or afternoon teas but definitely gone hill for a bar at night, always seems to be trouble in here and the the new look hasn’t done them any favours either.There’s better pubs along the welly road.

Had a wonderful meal with friends last night. My first time back at Old House since the refurbishment and what job they have done! The food was great, the Halloumi Skewers and Fillet steak are highly recommend. The wine selection was excellent and our waitress was very attentive. Can’t wait to come back.

It was a quiet lunchtime so can't really comment on the atmosphere. I like real ales and they don't have any so had to settle for a bottle. It was open and dog friendly so suited me on the day.

Visited Old House for dinner with friends. The venue looks amazing and I was impressed with the decor both down and upstairs. The food and service were great and being a vegetarian always difficult to find options but I was pleased that there were quite a few vegetarian dishes available. I went for the pea and asparagus risotto, which was lovely and a perfect portion size. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

The refurb is incredible and the food was amazing which was priced right for the value you got. Sadly it has been ALL greatly let down by the pompous staff (Sam) who pranced around upstairs liked his owned joint on his minimum wage salary. He was actually quite embarrassing and made my table very uncomfortable with his grandeur ways. The drinks are lovely (too pricey) but I assume the aim is to alienate normal folk.

A fantastic evening. All the team were warm and welcoming, like visiting friends. Service was swift and attentive but not too quick so as though you felt rushed. And when the food arrived-wow! The presentation was equal to that of any high end restaurant in London. Portion size was just right and the flavour….how best to describe it….quite simply.. it blew us away!! And the new decor is a real statement which adds to the great experience. We will definitely return 👌🏻

Nice restaurant with excellent food.

Despite the fact that this is a lovely building, which has been very nicely refurbished, it is now extremely expensive for Northampton and the one thing that I object to on principle, is that they DO NOT TAKE CASH! That is pandering the banks, which are trying to eradicate cash by stealth, very sad.

We tried out the Old House after hearing about its renovations and menu update. The food we had was incredible. My partner tried the Fillet Steak from the specials menu and it was cooked to perfection and was a great quality piece of meat. I had the chickpea and sweet potato curry which was also delicious and very flavourful. Each dish was presented really well which gave the meal a ‘fine dining edge’. Great cocktail selection also, not your standard ‘porn star’ you can tell they have been well thought out and mixed to taste good! One thing that really stood out to us was the service we had, it felt like we was dining at a high end restaurant in London. The attention to detail was spot on and the restaurant it self is luxurious, including the toilets!! I would say that this is a great spot for date night or even special occasions, it’s not like your standard meal out in Northampton, it’s nice to finally have somewhere a little more up market to go for dinner locally! We will deffo be returning, but with friends next time and hopefully continue the night with drinks down in the bar afterwards! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Our first time in the restaurant upstairs since it’s been closed for refurbishment. Have to say ….. initially blown away by the decor - does not feel like you’re on the Welly Road ! Service was great and we had a fantastic Sunday roast - I opted for the chicken supreme - a proper jointed piece of chicken rather than the measly few pieces of dry carved chicken you find elsewhere - and the gravy was rich and sumptuous. Yes it was very very good but the apple tart for pudding was the best I’ve ever had - I was cheeky and asked where they get it from - only to be told it is all made fresh in house - even better !!!

Always been a favourite for a night out - but just visited this weekend since the refurb. It looked great before - but now it’s another level! The style is awesome and feels more upmarket than anywhere I can think of locally. The drinks were great, and the food is delicious too. The new restaurant area upstairs is very on trend and is very contemporary. We’ll be back sometime soon to try out the afternoon tea menu too. Fantastic.

Overpriced drinks (£22.50 for a G&T!) in a recently refurbished yet dingy and empty bar that can’t decide its vibe, topped off with horribly arrogant and achingly slow service.

We had a wonderful Friday evening here, trying out the newly and beautifully refurbed restaurant. Their new menu looks amazing. We had the Halloumi Skewers and Pork Belly Bites for starters and the Crab & Prawn Linguine and Duck for mains. Sadly could not manage a dessert. Nothing was too much trouble for this very friendly team. They also had a singer on until around 9-9.30 which we think that they said would be a regular thing on a Friday. In short - would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Came to oldhouse for the opening of the new restaurant. The decor is so beautiful you don’t feel like you’re in Northampton town. A really lovely relaxed atmosphere. We had three courses starting with the pork belly and halloumi. Started off with a cocktail which was made perfectly. We then had steak and the curry for mains. Both were cooked perfectly. Service is as friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Went for dinner when the restaurant re-opened following a refurb, the place looks great, topped off by amazing food, and a great selection of drinks. The staff went above and beyond to provide an excellent service. Can’t wait to go back, would highly recommend a visit!

Celebrated my birthday here. 38 of us had afternoon tea. Everything was very well organised in advance by Kat and I really enjoyed it and everyone said how lovely the food was.

Great place during the afternoon with excellent service and food quality. Avoid the Wellingborough road at night on a Friday and Saturday though as it can get very rough.

Good venue. Been coming here for 40 years, but wow! £15.00 for a pint if shandy and a pint of lager!!!! I won't be coming back again. That really is daylight robbery.
