Great pub to visit , nice place for families

Worst Sunday roast ever 2 slices of turkey that could have been bought in tescos for 80p cold veg no stuffing and lumpy gravey give this a miss

Not a very good experience, the staff (apart from the table staff) seemed uncaring and the food was very much sub-standard for the price . The tables were sticky!

Good food with decent portion size, amiable staff but the building in general could do with a little TLC.

Always great place to go to meet up with family.

The roast dinner was served hot, as it should be, and was very tasty. None of the staff came near us after the food was delivered to check that we were happy with it.

Just moved to the area and the food has been amazing each time. My steak has been cooked perfectly each time! And my dog loves it here - spoilt woth affection and attention (and treats) every time! Highly recommend ✨️

We hired the function room this weekend for a baby shower and was absolutely amazing food was brilliant and also the staff was so amazing and helpful really couldn’t do enough thank youuu all

We chose the Lumbertubs because of the welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. We have always had a good experience here so we booked the function room for a wake for a much loved Mother and Grandmother. We arranged it all over the phone with Sally who was very helpful and could not do enough for us. Sally was there on the day and made sure everything was ready as requested. Everyone appreciated the tea and coffee station and the buffet lunch was excellent. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and it went a long way to help us all cope with a very emotional day.

Food was average. Manager of pub is rude and needs to learn to speak to people with respect. Poor atmosphere, was very empty in there. Wouldn't recommend

Staff were amazing couldn’t find a fault at all very efficient and fast, food was spot on too came out hot just as it looked on the menu will definitely be going again and telling all my friends this is the best place in town burgers were amazing especially the stack burger and the chocolate trio bar was to die for thought i had gone to heaven

Food arrived with most practically all of the roast potatoes burnt on everyones plate. Went to the bar to ask for some replacements, rather than just ordering some replacements, the person at the bar came to 'inspect' the meals to prove I was telling the truth. The replacements where also burnt... The Veg was like mush and the roast beef was bone dry. We asked for some Horse Radish to take the edge of the poor quality meat, but they said they had ran out... The toilets stunk to high heaven and clearly had not been cleaned for a long time. Would not return, it was over priced for its poor quality food, and most of the staff behaved as if we was an inconvenience. The manager was polite, but the rest of the staffs behaviour made me and my family feel uncomfortable. Would not return.

Since the covid 19 lie and scam the Green King pubs have gone right down in service. Used to enjoy going for a few drinks. Staff are never at the bar and then take ages to serve you. Or hpp over you and serve another customer. Also beer seems to give me stomach ache sine the afore mentioned covid scam. Have green king stopped using co2 in there products. If so shame on you. Co2 is a natural gas and without it nothing can exist. So bowing down to sick government agendas and wef/who fakery on climate change just adds to the sickness governing the world illegally now.

Was told they are not serving food because it was raining, after being told by overstone manor another greenking that this pub was serving food 👌

Always a great meal, staff always polite, helpful and very accommodating. Great value for money. Highly recommend 🙂

We took my dad out for dinner with 15 members of our family, the staff dealt with all of our requirements without any problem. Food was good and hot.

Although this is a chain pub, the difference here is the staff who are so friendly and helpful, the food lives up to the menu ours was hot and full of flavour and there is a great choice. For anyone who wants a decent reasonabley priced meal this fits the bill.

Stopped here this week for a family lunch, the menu choice is huge, we had burgers, a senior meal and dessert. The drinks range is impressive but we were non alcoholic this week but again lots of choice. The staff are super friendly, customer service was excellent and the food really good. We will definitely be back.

Wasn't the best experience, came with family for a meal last Saturday, service was quite good but disappointed with the food, the skillet that the food was served on made the taste really horrible which assume is the way they get washed and it's sadly taken the yaste away from the food, apple pie wasn't nice either peas were cold chips were warm but not hot and I ordered a steak Medium but came Medium Rare which I'm very disappointed about, service is good but the food is what let me down sadly, parking is good but the spaces need repainting as there starting to fade

Lovely grub, nice spacious dining area a friendly welcome and Peroni on tap! What more could you want?

Excellent meal & very friendly staff

After an unfortunate mix up on dates the staff went out of their way to accommodate the 13 of us who were catching up since leaving Wilko. They made room for us and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The food and service was excellent and Tina really looked after us. We will definitely be coming again. Monty bless him rearranged tables for us and the bar staff were also very helpful

I went here with 2 clients who have additional needs and the staff hear was so lovely and friendly towards them both, instead of talking to the clients through me the staff spoke to the clients which was so nice to see as a support worker. I will be back and bring some other of the guys here as well

Food and service was brilliant a very enjoyable experience. We had the steak and the chicken wings. It was very busy and service was excellent

Had a lovely afternoon with friends yesterday. All though I know it's a Grill menu, I fancied something light, and the Steak flatbread was just right. Sat out in the garden under a beautiful pagoda. Staff were great too. All in all a Fab, peaceful Saturday afternoon.

Food was great I opted for an all day breakfast and it hit the spot, brilliant price the service was amazing with no wait time at all. Very impressed

This Pub is friendly and welcoming. I visit regularly both personally with family, and with the company I work for. My most recent visit was with my workplace, supporting people with Learning Disabilities on a trip out to have lunch. The whole team are always friendly, accommodating and patient. They ensure that all guests are comfortable and enjoying their experience. Monty, Sam and the rest of the team are always smiling and ready to go the extra mile to make sure that we have everything we need. Each visit, the food has always been fresh and well worth the money. Thank you, to the whole team for being so kind and hospitable. Always an enjoyable meal.

This is slowly becoming our local! Another great meal. Excellent service and vfm. Booking not always essential but recommended. Hubbies slow cooked rib was superb.

I ordered the choctastic sundae and thought it was normal.Then I see a another man get the exact same and his was 2 times the size.I didn’t like the chips aswell.

We called here for food and what we got was really hot and delicious.The food was 10/10 and would definitely go back Thr only issue was the gents toilets which were disgusting which is a shame seeing as everything else.was amazing

Good local/sports pub. Not to many screens so it's easy to get away from them and find a quiet corner

I just ordered fro. The bigger eats section on the children's menu, so I didn't want a huge meal. I had the 4oz steak with chips and the mixed salad. My steak was cold, so I sent it back to the kitchen to be made hotter. When it returned it was slightly warmer but not great. The mixed salad was very weird - a bed of lettuce, with cold courgettes, aubergine and peppers. Over all, not very palatable, unfortunately.

Lovely pub. Had gluten free options, could have used some more. Good service. Nice staff, very helpful. Great prices, 30 quid to feed 5 (2 adult children) Then 20 for dessert

When my and family arrived we was greeted by Gemma who clearly hates her job and her life. She was rude and dismissive made us feel very unwelcome and gave off a bad energy. Felt like she was gunning for me from the start I clearly am old enough To drink yet refused me my wine when I had a picture ID and my children in my arms. She is nothing but a Karen and a miserable middle aged women who clearly needs to go customer service course or get a job at maccies if they would even take her. Thankyou Gemma for ruining my day and my lumber-tubs experience .

Glasses were dirty even after dishwashing.

We went early in the afternoon so it wasn't too busy in there. Being a dedicated driver is expensive in there. Buying a soda and lime in there was close to £2. Most places offer that for free or very cheap. The staff were nice and polite. The table and menus were sticky.

We like this pub, they do good quality food reasonably priced. The new outdoor seating area is great.

Came in without a booking, but no problem for the colleagues at Lumbertubs. 4 adults and 1 highchair. Staff were brilliant, accommodating us happily. Food was superb and plentiful and hot, desserts were to die for 😛😛. You HAVE to try the Epic Chocolate Sundae it is just perfect. Very decent prices and great quality, the steaks cooked to perfection. Greene King have a terrific pub here, and we'll definitely be back again.

I recently had the misfortune of visiting this pub after making a reservation 12 hours in advance. Despite our booking being accepted, the entire experience left a bitter taste in our mouths. Upon arrival, the staff seemed disinterested and annoyed that we were there. No warm welcome, just a cold and indifferent attitude. When we finally managed to track down a member of the bar staff, we were curtly informed of our seat number and left to find it ourselves. Not exactly the customer service you'd expect. To make matters worse, despite specifically booking a table for food and receiving confirmation, we were informed that the kitchen was inexplicably closed when we sat down. It's mind-boggling how a pub can accept a reservation for a dining table and then casually inform guests that they won't be serving food. The lack of communication and professionalism demonstrated by the staff is truly disappointing. It's evident that the management of this establishment needs to address serious issues with customer service and organizational skills. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment – I would strongly advise against wasting your time and money at this poorly managed pub. There are plenty of other establishments in the area that value their customers and know how to run a business effectively.

Another long trip today through heavy rain and opted to eat at Lumbertub’s. On arrival, although we hadn’t booked ( and it was a busy Friday night) we were found a table very quickly. Order made and found arrived in excellent time. Three adults and a 6 year old-excellent value, I couldn’t believe how reasonable our meal and drinks was, lunch of sandwiches and drinks was double this in London today. A great end to a great day. Our food was “ top notch “.

Good cheap place to eat. Food could be better, just fried stuff but you get what you pay for. The building needs a few repairs. Staff are always excellent,

Absolutely useless bar staff. Empty pub and 40 minutes to receive drinks from app ordering. Asked the bar staff if they’d received our order. He looked at the receipt and said yes.. another 15 minutes pass and we eventually get half our order. Lack luster is an understatement. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else

Ordered low & slow beef rib skillet. 7 hr slow cook. This was a mess so much fat that there was 2oz of meat . The were cold chips over cooked peas like bullets. My son had burger yuk grandadson steak which was ok again peas like bullet s. Nobody ask if everything was OK.

The waffle fries are to die for and come quickly but the service doesn't come with a smile and staff at the bar are grumpy. Toilets reek and need more cleaning 🧼🧹☹️😡😡

Always had a pretty calm time here at Lumbertubs. People are easy going and space is plentiful both indoors and out Haven't tried the food so I cant make a judgement there however the atmosphere is nice for both family, solitary or with friends/partner

Shocking. Depressing place. Depressed, miserable staff. The food was vile. Roast chicken. Half a chicken which looked anaemic and dry as a bone, together with awful frozen veg. I think a good vet could have brought the chicken back to life. Gravy was thick, glutinous and jellified. My dog wouldn’t go within 2 feet of it. The vision of that chicken will stay with me.

Was down in Northampton seeing me family and we deiced to come down their for food, we came on Friday 26th jan 2024 and had such a good time. Food was nice and hot and came out quickly all the staff their was friendly and helpful

Visited twice this month, on both occasions, we found dirty tables with plates and empty glasses. Some of the staff looked tired and uninterested. Children running around in the bar area, doubt we will return

Started off poorly, sadly coke machine had given up the ghost and bar staff was not having a good day, felt a bit like unwanted guests. However, we completed our food order from the Christmas menu, sounded delicious Camembert burger and it did not disappoint. It was great, looked like the picture, full of flavour, served by friendly staff and arrived quickly, nice and hot, loaded fries were amazing, thank you so much for a lovely lunch out.

I don't go in this pub very often but one thing has not changed. The gents toilet cubicles I think one the lock doesn't work..Also pool.of water or urine on floor and the paint hadn't been done STILL. Why can't pubs spend some money on basic things like toilets? Food was OK although our organiser booked in advance and then was told they hadn't got the desserts we ordered Staff were fine

Generally a draining experience, sticky tables, lukewarm food, and the staff giving the impression that this was the norm.

We were very well looked after at the Lumbertubs Pub. Gemma did an amazing job and made us welcome at the pub.

The restaurant offered a fantastic combination of great service, high-quality food and affordable prices, making it a memorable and satisfying visit.

We had the most amazing Christmas lunch my friend and I could not fault it at all. The staff were wonderful and made it a pleasure to be there

A group of us visited this evening and we had a great evening. The staff were fantastic and the food was really good value for money.

We had had a terrible day, we came home to a burgled house. We tidied as much as we could but had to get away from it in search of food. We arrived at a jam packed lumbertubs to be told it was full. I muttered “please, is there any way we can just have snacks it’s been an awful, awful day.” I explained what had happened and Tina had us seated and fed in no time at all. After exposure to such hideous people Tina showed us kindness. She had her hands full that night too with a few disruptive characters and high demand for food. My burger was massive and having not eaten at all all day it did the trick, It was delicious! Thank you for looking after 2 very vulnerable guests xxx

Nice venue, but staff look miserable. Food average and not very warm. Would rather pay more for decent food. Surprised to see car charging points in a carpark. Recommend venue but not the food

Went for family birthday meal. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing how the place has changed since I last visited. Very nice atmosphere.

Basic pub, could be fantastic it has a good outdoor area, darts, pool table. Staff are typical British pub style. Food is good

Been here a few times now and this was the first time we weren't fully happy. The service and the place can't be faulted, but the food unusually left a lot to be desired. First time ever and everyone can have an off day so won't be too critical on one bad day.

A local public house situated on a busy road but with good access and parking. Unfortunately the interior was shabby and table top needed a good scrub as has built up a sticky surface. Menues were grubby and dog-eared. Writing AND pictures! Cheap prices reflected in poor quality food. I had scampi. 8 small reconstituted scampi meat and had the "salad" instead of sides which was a strange mixture of zucchini and capsicum on frizz lettuce. The salad should have been cold!! My friend had gammon which he did seem to enjoy. There was no Abbot ale on tap. Desserts were all sweet mass produced with bottled syrup poured over. Was I disappointed. Not particularly as I didn't expect a higher standard and as two main meals was 13 quid it didn't break the bank! Hardly cordon bleu prices!! But I was disappointed in the slow service (only two very slow waitresses on) and the unclean interior. I worry about salad which was room temperature. It needs to be in a fridge. This pub serves a locality who do not expect too much. Pity the food lacked imagination. Could do better.

Havent been for a while, it was very busy and had a bit of a wait but it was worth it. Not sure if anything else has changed apart from a new menu since our last visit. The food was great, couldn't fault it and good value for money. Everything was cooked lovely. To be honest it's the best meal we've had for a while compared to other places we've been lately (all quite local) keep it up 😊

Went here for lunch and decided to have the Mixed Grill Skillet, it was really nice and everything was cooked perfectly. Staff who served me were polite, friendly and professional. On the whole a completely pleasant experience with no issues. Many thanks.

after we sorted the tables out, 2 tables apart for a family get to gether is not good ,so after a while they moved us to another table which was pushed together ,

Had a lovely family dinner here on 8th October. Good service, they had everything we wanted, nice atmosphere.

I'm often in the tubs n never have a problem . The food is lovely . The prices are good . I enjoy every visit. Please keep the tubs this way x
