Very disappointed with our meals today the meals weren't very warm, my daughter's plate was dirty. We have been before and the food was fine. On both occasions the tables were dirty. Tables need a good clean

Nice family pub with food and drink deals, set perfectly by the river. You can now bring your dog inside too.

It's a nice looking place, with decent seating, a nice bar and friendly & helpful staff. However the kids play area is dated and switches are within reach of kids which isn't good. The food however was a big letdown, small portions for what was paid. Everyone in our group thought I had ordered a children's meal by mistake.

Loved it, went as a party of 21, everyone happy. Kids loved the indoor play area.

The perfect spot to soak up the sun with beautiful, peaceful views of the Trent. Excellent value for money and a really lovely team of staff.

Updated review I've been here a few times recently. For Sunday lunch and evening meals. The staff are friendly and polite. The food is nice and reasonably priced. They have deals on most days of the week! Drinks are priced well too. The pub has a large beer garden at the rear with a play area for kids. Seating out the front with a nice view over the river trent. A large carpark too. I would recommend 👌 "Tasty" was helpful, polite and cheerful, as she has been everything we have visited.

Manager was very polite always busy and kept place tiny and tables clean lovely staff play area to keep the kids busy helped Will definitely be coming back again with the family Thank you.

My wife and I go here quite a lot as we are fairly local and we never have a bad thing to say about it. Friendly staff, reasonably priced food with good portions for those with big appetites. Also great for families with the kids wacky warehouse and outdoor play and is also dog friendly. The pub also has great views of the river Trent with lots of friendly swans, geese and ducks there to feed. There’s also a nice walk along the riverside if you want to walk off that big meal you’ve just had.

Difficult review as the guy serving and checking on us was lovely, friendly and helpful, having a laugh with my grandson and clearly looking after other diners. My meal, however, was poor. Very small portion (for £8 plus) and a very over cooked pastry. My grandsons - large - childrens meal, was significantly better, although again, over cooked. There's a children's soft play here, hence our visit, and we'll give it another try, but wasn't impressed at all with our meals.

Smashing little pub right on the waters edge. Cosy and comfy inside and all ages inside. Staff are lovely and really helpful. Food is average hungry horse stuff which means you know what you're getting but we go back for the staff and location

A not loved pub in a beautiful location. As you approach the riverside establishment there are glasses with rotting drinks on the period windows, despite it being a quieter season . The toilet hasn’t been checked since Friday 7pm as we eat at 8pm Saturday. I shove date and time logged a photo and the toilet cubicle doesn’t have a working bolt (£5 maintenance) for months. Vegan meal choice excellent despite the smallest mushy pea portion imaginable. Thanks for doing this .

Brought my two children here on the recommendation of friends and I have to say I couldn’t fault it. From the minute we walked in we were welcomed by a lovely young lady, Courtney who showed us to a nice table overlooking the river. The food we ordered arrived promptly and was devoured by all - including my picky children. Service throughout was friendly and professional and all reasonably priced. There is a large car park with plenty of parking and a few steps away from the Trent where you can see swans, geese and ducks - so bring a little something to feed them when you come!

This place is very clean efficient and good value. The staff are always welcoming , friendly and the food is always quick and tasty. The views are amazing aswell

Visited the ferry boat inn a few times for dinner or lunch, food is always delicious and staff always lovely ans friendly Specific area for dogs so we didn't have to leave her at home! Would highly reccomend visiting and we'll priced!

I visited the ferryboat inn this afternoon and had a pleasant experience with a lady called Courtney, she was very nice to me and served me accordingly, my food arrived hot and tasty in very little time.. I would highly reccommend the food and the service in this establishment! Thanks again I’ll be back in the future.

Regular customer here but went tonight - two breakfasts ordered - eggs were raw/snotty, sausage anaemic/raw and bacon/mushrooms not much better. hash browns only item on plate that were actually hot. As for the bread it was stale/dry and chilled and with scant amount of hard butter. Overall a very disappointing meal as place was quiet - no excuses for food to be dished up like this

Lovely place come every week since my kids were young. The staff are absolutely amazing helpful and caring one lady especially called Maria. Fabulous woman very caring and patient with an old lady like me. ❤️❤️❤️

We visit The Ferry on a regular basis .That says it all.! We are treated like members of the family. The service is wonderful .Courtney and her team Marie,Laura Nicole Fran and Steve go out of their way to treat all customers with the best service possible and make your experience at the Ferry a happy one. I have watched in amazement as they all buzz about tending to everyone's needs and that includes four legged friends!. Who l might add are made most welcome. The food too is great value.Try the ultimate combo. You can't better it! And the fish and chips are the best around. and if you have any room left try Candymainia an explosion of delights to remind you of your child hood. Happy Days!

Food was dreadful. Old cold chips, fish tasted funny, even our dog wouldn't eat it. Very disappointed

Food was overall fine; the whitebait starter was good although the main was lacking. The serving size was great for the pork belly but where the quantity shone, the quality suffered. Cooked well overall but the flavours just weren't there, just tasted like salt. The dijon sauce, of which there wasn't much, honesty tasted like nothing and added very little to the dish besides some moisture. Our waitress was nice and service was quick, its also a nice venue with a decent atmosphere that is dog friendly which is nice to see. Overall I'd recommend this place but I wouldn't recommend the pork belly. 69/100

Beautiful walk along the river. We booked a table on arrival we had to find staff to seat us, which wasn’t very welcoming. We were a couple but got seated at the back of the restaurant with lots of families and children running around ( not a problem as we’ve had kids) so understand. A member of staff lovely lady asked if we wanted a more quieter table, so we opted to be seated elsewhere. Food arrived, I’m sorry to say the starter was lovely but the mains were really not the best and the rump steak was so chewy, personally not the best meal I’ve had. Such a shame really as it’s such a lovely pub and in a great location

Absolutely terrible!! Food was shocking!! Had two 1year olds with us who were served slimey (going off) carrots, no chips with meal and, bruised and off strawberries! Random pasta in the peas on an adults meal...even though it didn't come with any pasta, and neither did anything else that our table ordered! The toilets near the play area smelt like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks! My Sons Dad took him to change him and was advised there are only baby changing facilities in the female toilets! Then there was cling film wrapped in 1 of the desserts! I was told this was because they were busy! However it didn't seemed overly busy for such a large establishment while we were there. Some staff were helpful, but I still didn't get to speak to the kitchen manager, which was what I requested. The staff at the front have to deal with the customers complaint, but it was kitchen staff who clearly hadn't checked food (not even looked at) food before it was served out! I will never return to this place ever again, only tried it again because of the play area....& there's a big hole in the net at the top of the slide in there! Yes we got a full refund, but also a spoilt family meal on my sons birthday! Used to be a lovely family place with great food...sadly now none of these things!

Rocked up on our Nottingham to Solihull, via Grand Union, canal walk in Jan 2024. Marked food one star, but just to get your attention! Forgive me! We didn't eat. Only had a pint. Lovely place. Great location.

Went here for my mums birthday 9 of us in total we brought our own cake to be given to her at the end food came out very quickly and was very nice at end of meal we asked for the table to be cleaned 3 times ready for the cake we asked 4 times for it to be brought out the waitress asked if we wanted a knife and plates we said yes and she never returned in total we waited for over 90 minutes for the cake felt like it ruined the day mum didn't know about the cake and got up and put her coat on wanting to go

Had to send steak back unable to even cut through because of the grisly. Had another one sent out not much better. Service good but all tables are sticky and need a really good wash. We find the place quite cold 🥶

Really enjoyed our visit the staff was great, food was great too and a very reasonable price. Also a nice variety of beers to choose from. Have to say the location is amazing looking out the window at the river Trent with all the swans and geese on the river bank. Will definitely be visiting again real soon.

Last Minute arrangement for My Birthday so lucky to get a table for 8 somewhere local (New Years Eve 7pm), A number of Food items requested were not Available when order was made i.e No Sausages for the Mixed Grill but was not told at time of order also certain deserts N/A..The main worry upon arriving NO Carpark Lights were lit! A concern for an elderly relative who has slight visual impairment Marks out of 10:- Food 7.5/10 Service 9.5/10 Atmosphere 9.5/10

I have been here several times over the years. It has a good play area, both indoors, and outdoors for children. Ferry Boat has good service; the food comes out quickly, and the staff are lovely. There is also an amazing walk by the river located close by as well!

Assistant Manager, Laura, was very welcoming and greeted us warmly. We ordered and the service was quick and efficient. The meals were delicious, we had 3 different burgers, and cooked perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble so thank you

A nice meal together in a perfect location by the water. Lots of vegetarian and a few vegan options and good value for money. Friendly staff. We appreciated Mark going the extra mile and finding us some duck food to finish our day feeding the birds by the river.

I visit this pub most days and always find the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and the service is always excellent.

Came a couple of weeks ago and can’t stop raving about the place! Food was lovely. I had the chicken New Yorker and it was hot and fresh. The place was clean and the staff were lovely. Hats off to the woman with red hair at the bar! She was so polite and lovely with my family. Will be back soon!

I visited with my partner for a quick dinner. The food was delicious and great portion size. I had fish and chips and my partner had the super special Saturday deal of jerk chicken. The two ladies at the bar were lovely and very friendly....

Friendly service, good selection of food and drinks inc. festive menu. Cosy atmosphere but a little chilly last night. Enjoyed the food, well cooked and presented, reasonably priced. Only let down, things missing from menu and luke warm coffee however had a great evening.

Been here a few times now and the food has always been fantastic and really well priced, set next to the river trent and has the best views while your eating. Staff are very helpful and friendly and we have never had a bad experience. Would definitely highly recommend

Visited again Oct 23 and couldn't have been better, quick service, good food, fair prices. Unfortunately on this occasion there was a 45 minute wait between starters and main course, the chicken was cold, the pastry case on the meat pie was still raw and there was a mix up with the drinks. The table staff were friendly and helpful but the bar staff member just made excuse after excuse rather than offer an apology which would have been readily accepted. Couldn't fault on this occasion, fantastic food, brilliant service, Miquie and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very Covid safe. Will definitely be going again.

Huge pub, didn’t realise it was such a large place. We booked ahead though and glad we did as it got busy for Sunday lunch. We were made very welcome by the staff, they checked everything was ok with our meal and nothing was too...

We decided to head here for a lunch on Sunday. We sat in a lovely spot looking out over the river. The kids loved the indoor play and the park outside. Food portions were huge and nice. Staff very friendly. It’s in a great location next to the river with a nice walk across the road.

The service is ok, but quick! Decent food, Free kids soft play Excellent value. 2 "pub classics" and two kids main meals for £15 all day every day! Its cheaper than Maccies! I enjoyed my steak pie (fully enclosed in pastry), pastry was a bit thick, but at this sort of price you can't complain.

Nice place but a big but .. food really don't have ran out we have this instead jot what to expected. Staff very short staffed expect a long wait for service . This needs to change or loose customers.. over all good food even better if they can provide everything on the menu

We visited the Ferryboat pub for a casual late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The staff were nice and friendly on arrival. We had no trouble being seated - but I'd say it can get busy. We ordered 2 main courses of smothered steak sizzler, chips, pepper sauce and we ordered extra various side dishes. We were served by a lovely, friendly helpful server, Holly, who was happy to help us when our food was served. The food was lovely and hot and tasted wonderful. Then we treated ourselves to the giant donut filled with cream which was moist and very appetising! Overall a nice relaxing visit with tasty food. We will be returning very soon.

Edit: I had a mixed grill Food was slightly undercooked apart from the medium well steak which was overcooked bordering burned. chicken slimy and bland. Left half my food. Other tables were leaving their food. Yorkshire puddings with the roast dinners were rock hard, again other tables were leaving these on their plates. I've had the same menu at other locations and enjoyed the food in the past. Issue seems to be in the kitchen. Otherwise it's a nice location and would revisit for a drink only. Edit 2: returned a few years on and the food seems to have improved
