Been here on a few occasions Staff friendly and helpful Stayed in our camper overnight waking up to beautiful crisp views Had a full English breakfast, very tasty! And accompanied by Yorkshire Tea!! Yay… only the best! Last visit was in the summer- took some stunning photos but the frosty morning view is amazing! We will of course be back again! Definitely recommend!

The ferry boat is a fantastic place. Theyre dog freindly which is great and they made a big fuss of dog which was lovely. The food was nice and tasty and quickly served. The staff were kind and friendly very welcoming. The views of the river are stunning and the pub looks nice and clean. Will definitely return.

Had been here loads of times in the past and always had a positive experience. But in September I had fish and chips and ended up getting nasty food poisoning from it had never been so ill in my life.

Lovely place in a quiet location, perfect for a little food and drink, or a family get together. Recommended to all!

Just had a meal at ferry boat today - we eat here occasionally as the kids love the soft play. Usually I think it’s quite basic but the staff always try hard. I can honestly say we had the nicest meal today from the super Saturdays menu. Definitely better than usual and kids enjoyed their food too. Staff were really helpful and got extra cheese for my daughter! Thank you ferry boat.

Me and my young children went to Ferry boat on Christmas day. I booked this late but would like to say Courtney was helpful throughout the booking and on the day! Brilliant service. Food was nice , my sons meal had to be changed (through no fault if Ferry boat at all) the staff were quick , attentive and polite throughout the visit. So thank you to all of you!

It was a disappointment regarding the Christmas Day meal I booked for three at The Ferry Boat Inn establishment. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations, especially considering the £170 we paid in advance. We were looking forward to a special Christmas experience, but the atmosphere and preparation did not meet the festive standard we anticipated. Upon arrival, the table was very basic for the occasion, and the ambiance lacked the warmth and cheer one would expect for such an event. The food, while acceptable, was far from impressive. The turkey appeared processed rather than freshly carved, and staples like pigs in blankets were noticeably absent. The desserts we ordered remained unfinished due to their lack of quality. Although I expected the restaurant to be busy on Christmas Day, it was surprisingly quiet—a possible indicator that others shared a similar sentiment. For the price charged, the experience was undeniably overpriced and disappointing. This was my first visit to the Ferryboat Inn, and my last.

We went for a family Christmas meal and really enjoyed ourselves. We pre-booked off the Festive Menu, the table was laid out and decorated with table cloth and crackers and the food was delicious with big portions. The staff were very friendly and checked in on us regularly, taking drinks orders and asking if we wanted a break or the next course firing. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed ourselves, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice family Christmas meal out, that won't break the bank.

Went to ferry boat on the 6th December for a few beers service and staff are great, would like to point out the Christmas decorations look fabulous,the best I have seen it for a long time. Courtney the managers puts her heart and soul into this establishment and the results are very visible well done ill be back maybe for food next time as the meals looked delicious.

Lovely setting by the river, excellent food and very friendly staff

We attended on 23 November 24 for a family Christmas meal, the booking process was easy and accessible, the pub was decorated beautifully for Christmas, table was set beautifully, we attended with a dog and staff were more than happy to accommodate and moved the decorations to a table of our choice. We originally booked for 6, but had a last minute addition, staff more than happy to accommodate this and gave us plenty of options of food. Food was piping hot, well presented, very tasty and served at our pace. Excellent service from all the staff team, who all created a lovely welcoming atmosphere and offered treats for the dog! The food and drinks were good value for money and would highly recommend

I recently had Sunday dinner with my brother, nephew, and great nephews at the Ferry Boat Inn. The food was very well priced and the food itself was prepared brilliantly. The service from all the staff was impeccable and they were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was congenial and I felt very safe and secure in the fact that I could fully relax and enjoy myself with my other family members. The facilities for the children were fantastic and my great nephews could play freely and safely either outside in the play-park of the back garden or in the tumble-town area indoors. I and my brother will certainly return soon. Overall a great experience and great value for money.

Fantastic Sunday dinner for the price and lovely puddings. The people working there were so polite and friendly very nice experience for my Dad's 75th Birthday weekend. Only downfall was the toilets smelt and was some rubbish on the floor. Apart from that great place. Maybe just needed checking more frequently. Lovely location and views, and a walk along the river afterwards.

Members of staff were treating the guests like family and giving recommendations of food and more information about them to make the choice easier and had no problems with food as it was cooked to perfection

Great food, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is in a great location as you can look out over the river while you eat or take a walk before or after your meal!

Having not been here for a while (not terribly impressed last time) we decided to give it another try, and found it much improved. Excellent value meals at £6 Mon to Fri, so suited us ideally for tea after school. Accommodating in increasing the size of a starter meal to a main meal. Superb 'no meat' burger, again accommodating the change from fries to extra salad. Excellent staff serving us - the only criticism being - it was cold. People keeping their coats on, one family near us did complain. Otherwise, back on our 'to try again' list.

The food was very disappointing to be honest. The steaks were not cooked to how we asked, we have x4 full minty mix grills. The sauages were even under cooked or over done between the 4 plates and the chicken was so dry. The eggs where over cooked, fast cooked to high actually because the white underneath was crusty and hard and the 11oz steak tasted funny and was sent back and changed to mix it up chicken which was much better. We went as a family get together of 11. I was so very disappointed 😞 The service was good all the staff are lovely but the food let the whole situation down. The meal came to over £200 😩

I am a regular customer here at the ferry boat and it's always great. The staff are friendly and efficient the foods nice and tasty. The ferry boat has a great atmosphere with lovely views of the river.

Courtney as always went above and beyond and made us all especially my 4 and a half year old daughter feel very welcome. Food was lovely and served quickly considering how busy it was . Great portion sizes. Drinks were nice and we had a very tasty ipa that my dad really liked. Pub was clean and the play area was great for keeping my daughter entertained. She even made a new friend. Will definately return

Always find the staff here very polite. Efficient food service (Sundays). Usually go once every other month, stay around 2hrs maximum. Small soft play great for under 8's. Out door park suitable for ~11 and under. Can pre book a table online. Cheap and cheerful.

Have been coming back here again regularly over the summer of 2024 and it's been brilliant, staff are friendly and efficient. Courtney is always welcoming and brings a ray of sunshine to the bar. There's various deals every day of the week and the food is food value for money. Visited again Oct 23 and couldn't have been better, quick service, good food, fair prices. Unfortunately on this occasion there was a 45 minute wait between starters and main course, the chicken was cold, the pastry case on the meat pie was still raw and there was a mix up with the drinks. The table staff were friendly and helpful but the bar staff member just made excuse after excuse rather than offer an apology which would have been readily accepted. Couldn't fault on this occasion, fantastic food, brilliant service, Miquie and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very Covid safe. Will definitely be going again.

Had a 90th Birthday party here for my grandad, with 13 people, was really well organised and food didn’t take too long to come out. Staff were very friendly and helped in every way. Thankyou for making it a very special birthday for my grandad

I don't often leave reviews to places but the meal was awful and I want to warn anyone who decides to go there for Sunday dinner.Let me start with the fact when we sat down to a "clean" table it was so sticky it could almost work as a insect trap. Menus were all sticky and never wiped, toilets don't even start me on. I've ordered Sunday dinner with Turkey, extra cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. I'm not sure what was the meat I was given but it wasn't roast turkey, the cheapest slice of ham from Tesco would tasted better than this. All veg were chargrilled, roast potatoes almost black, stuffing was so rubbery I could stretch it. Pigs in blanket had a bacon burnt. To top it all of mine and my husband's meal came out luke warm. The only ingredients that were edible was Yorkshire pudding, mash tato and carrots. Let me just say my daughter had a burger and chips, and her meal was fine! She polished the plate! Sadly we will not be going back there and if you do go please don't order Sunday dinner.

Come here pretty regularly for food and drinks and I have never been disappointed. Last visit was probably one of the best, me and my mum had the curry deal for 8 pound, great curries, cooked nicely and the meat was great, for 8 pound too it's a very good deal. Had some dessert after which was just as good quality, all the food is very fairly priced and good quality as well. The staff here are wonderful, can't do more for you, I had the pleasure of being served by abby on the bar, really nice, goes out of her way to have a chat with you, makes you feel really welcome (give her a raise 😉). All the staff are amazing and make give the place a very comforting, homely vibe. 10/10 pub honestly, recommend to all.

Person who served us at the bar was having a really bad day. Got quite a few things wrong. But we all have those days! However we weren’t advised that the ‘mini’ chocolate brownie was a kids dessert. You can imagine our surprise when the smallest piece of cake EVER, about the size of an average index finger, came out! I mean even a kid would wonder where the other half was. We were told afterwards that it was a kids dessert. Surely if that’s the case it should be on a kids menu NOT the normal menu. We were out with friends so didn’t want to make a fuss, but really?

Pleasant staff and atmosphere. Sunday lunch was a choice of beef or turkey £10 with a drink which is good value. Nicely presented food. However it was just basic vegetables ie peas carrots and green beans plus potatoes. The beef was tough, best thing was the yorkshire pud!

We came at lunch today and was greeted by a very friendly staff member (Kerry)she was very bubbly and couldn’t help any more if she tried, The food was great and even went away with some, definitely recommend going, we can’t wait to go back Thank you for a great experience ferry boat

Quite friendly place right next to a river

Very mediocre food ,some being burnt. Tables not clean, understaffed, ran out of a range of beers. Outside appearance very run down with litter evident Overall, it's not a very good experience

Firstly we came for a friends Birthday on the 13-8-24 we asked for the Birthday cake to be brought out and it was brought out with a couple of candles on the cake and they was unlit, we actually brought a lot of candles with the cake, but most of them was put on someone elses cake. We came on Friday last week and we was extremely disappointed the food was appalling the burgers where burnt and obviously extremely dry. The table was dirty as was many others. Outside a lot of tables had not been cleared away and still had not been when we left at 5.30pm. Food was also left on the floor. This is a terrible shame as it is a lovely setting. But the whole place looks extremely sorry for it's self and in great need of a good deep clean as is extremely dirty. The staff do not seem interested at all in giving any sort of customer service. Outside is also extremely grubby looking. I have been a on a weekly basis with friends for sometime now, but sadly we will not be returning until these matters have been addressed and dealt with in a appropriate manner. I am sorry but having been brought up in the hospitality industry, I felt it necessary and important to let you know how much the premises has gone down hill of late. Excellent food and service. Although they did not have the meal we wanted the chicken new yorker we had instead was fabulous. Was a thursday night so we got a starter and dessert for a quid also. We was not dissatisfied at all. We soon be going again.

Laughably bad quality. The food came 5 minutes after we ordered, and we ordered a variety of items. The burgers were clearly microwaved, the bun was more charred than the meat. Chips were cold. The Korean BBQ dip was obviously just BBQ sauce. Everything was tasteless. No point complaining because if they replaced the food it would come out the same. The area is picturesque though so that was nice.

It wasn't the worse experience but I don't think I will be visiting again. My friend used the toilet and noted that only 1 cubicle had toilet tissue and it had gotten stuck in the dispenser. The soft drink syrup had started to run low on my friends drink. We ordered another later in the night and it tasted of soda water so we let the bar staff know and he was rude with his response. He told us that it 'tastes okay to me but alright' and continued to imply that we were lying. As time went on the queues to the bar were long and moving slowly, so we decided to order food via the App on the menu. This was a quick and easy experience and made choosing and paying better. The food took a bit longer to arrive than hoped but nothing out of the ordinary, however there was an element that I had paid extra for that was not present. At this point the staff were nowhere to be seen or one was busy at the bar, so we decided to leave as soon as we had eaten our food. The building is nice to look at, has a lovely view on the water and is a decent size but it seems to be lacking where the staff are concerned, at least the ones that were working on my first ( and probably only visit).

I have been coming to the ferry boat since I was a kid always loved this place but it's gone extremely down hill I have messaged the pub directly before and told them but after yesterday's visit seems nothing has changed it was dirty the tables was so sticky the cutlery I had to check and change again as per my message last time! The food I don't normally have a roast from ferry boat but I fancied one and it was awful the Yorkshire pud tasted like it had been defrosted then frozen again then cooked a funny smelly water taste the veg was rock hard and no mash and the turkey was like sandwich meat I was very disappointed only saving grace was the beef and roasties I'm very sad about this post I used to love coming here the food the service and the little nook to sit in while you taking In the stunning views!

I visited this week and I just want to say what amazing service I recieved from Caitlyn. She was so polite and friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. This was a pleasant surprise compared to last time where the service wasn't at its best!

I do like this pub but mainly for the view, a lot of the beers were off when I went so we were really restricted but on the whole a good place to visit.

the ferry boat is the best pub in the area. Perfect location and loads of outside seating. Their draft ciders are delicious and the food is fast and good. It's lively in the summer but never too full, and has quickly become our favourite spot to eat and drink!

Right then, main issue is they've got this 'kids eat for a quid' thing, which says under it 'can't be used in conjunction with any other offer'. Which is fine, but what it doesn't say, is its only kids eat for a quid if you pay full price for a adult meal! Didn't make that clear which is annoying. Food was alright, 6/10, service seemed a little slow, as if the bar staff were prioritising menial tasks over serving customers waiting at the bar. Only went because its nice outside and theres bits for kids to play, other than that, I wouldn't suggest it.

Ten of us came in today for a meal. Although the food was ok, the place itself felt dirty and service was slow although there wasn’t many customers in. All tables looked dirty and needed cleaning. I overheard another customer complain about their table being sticky and needing wiping too. I went to find cutlery for our meal, I found what I assumed was a section for dirty and used knives and forks because there was old dried food on them all. I asked the waitress where can I find cutlery and she said this is it. I told her it was dirty and she went to find some clean ones for us. There was no milk for coffee, and the service at the bar was so slow. The children’s play area as well as the toilets were out of use and the main toilets were extremely smelly and unpleasant. Very disappointing experience.

Tasty meal of Sea bass and lamb kofta flatbreads. Large portions, well cooked. Good value. Nice view of the river from our table.

Food was okay but very small portion. me and my girlfriend ordered a pitcher i was told I'm not allowed to drink it even after paying for it. 33 years of age and was treated like a child. Never returning. Manager was great, but the staff were rude.
