Lovely friendly reception by the staff, excellent atmosphere to boot. The Sunday lunch was amazing, belly pork for me,roast beef for my partner, absolutely delicious . Finished off with a beautiful slice of homemade cake.

Disappointing Sunday lunch. Ordered the belly pork and what came out was the size of the stuffing square. When we asked why other plates had bigger portions they explained they said it was because we got the last of the pork- which was untrue as other tables were still be served it. We did ask for more meat and it took them two attempts to bring it. To their credit they knocked off two drinks but still, the chef should not be sending out plates with small portions on, nor should we expect to have to point out these things- perhaps staff were hoping we wouldn't notice?

A refreshing change from typical pub food. Portion sizes are not excessively large like many pubs but the food is tasty and well cooked. The venison was some of the best cooked we have ever had.⁷

The Four Bells Inn in Woodborough is a real hidden gem. It’s a cozy, welcoming pub with lovely staff who make you feel right at home. The menu has a great mix of pub classics and more refined à la carte options. Everything we had was delicious and really well presented. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed meal in a peaceful village setting. Definitely one of those places you’re glad to have discovered – I’ll be back for sure!

Overpriced, under-seasoned and underwhelming food. Salad was pathetic, chicken tasteless and loaded fries seemed like they had been reheated multiple times. Wine was ok but also overpriced.

We booked a family meal here after seeing a write up stating the food was great. The pub itself is lovely. Nicely decorated with a modern twist on old time charm. The staff were friendly and helpful. The meal is what absolutely let this pub down. For almost £20 each or £25 for all the meats we were served 2 very insubstantial slices of meat, a piece of stuffing and Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes with a dribble of gravy. They then came back with some bowls of vegetables that had more red cabbage than anything else which was disappointing.. now don't get me wrong the food tasted good but for the amount of food you got for your money completely ruined the experience. We were all still hungry so ordered puddings which were nice but at almost £8 on top of the cost of dinner where you felt like you had to eat a pudding as dinner had not filled you up left us feeling very disappointed. A meal for four should not cost £150 and leave you feeling hungry!! Will not be returning.

Chose this spot for my birthday lunch and absolutely glad I did! For our first visit my other half (meat eater) had The Bells Burger and I had the Vegan burger. It was absolutely delicious, and I asked the lovely lad serving us, to pass our compliments on to the chef. The burgers looked fairly unassuming when they arrived (great service btw) but the flavours were incredible - I asked what the topping was and was told they use the same approach for both the meaty and vegan burgers - with a caramelised onion reduction with ale. It was amazing. I will be back and must try some of the other options, but it will be really hard not to order this again! Oh and they are dog friendly, so our dog could join us too. Highly recommend!

First meal here. Thought we'd try Sunday lunch. Disappointed. Had roast beef. Thin and not freshly carved from a joint. One soft yorkshire. Deep fried potatoes, just two. Assorted veg and red cabbage. Red wine Gravy was nice. No horseradish . At £18.90 which is expensive, I was very disappointed with what was served. Thought the drinks were expensive. One large pinot grigio and one can ( no draught) of 0 % Guinness cost over £13. Robbery.

A really lovely traditional village pub which is welcoming to all, including our dogs! The range of drinks and ales is great, the food is amazing and the service from the team is warm and genuine. Visited here last night after great recommendations about this pub . However there was only two options on the menu for a main course for vegetarian which is fine and understandable as the menu isn’t huge anyway on the back of the menu they serve a chicken Caesar salad I requested if the Caesar salad could be served with halloumi instead of chicken however was told they only serve salads and sandwiches till 5pm no later. This felt a little Bizzare seems as on the side dishes to order there is side salad Caesar and tempura halloumi side it seemed a little un accommodating to not be able to serve a salad as a main but can order small side dish . However upon arrival of our food it was all lovely just disappointing service .

Lovely place, inside and outside, brilliantly placed opposite a great playground in a beautiful traditional village. The food was good. The starters / tapas were over priced for the size of some of them. The service was ok. Could have been a lot better, more attentive and friendlier welcome needed. Also - the table are very thin. Wider tables would massively improve the comfort levels so plates and drinks not so squashed.

A lovely lig fire burning as well arrived Kate afternoon made it feel cosy from the start. A charming lady behind the bar made us welcome and had a nice natter with us about times past for the pub and what it's like now. Drinks swiftly served and as driving a very nice cola for myself but my wife enjoyed her glass of Merlot very much. Fish, chips and crushed peas for me with a pot of tarter sauce and grilled wedges of lemon. The fish was fresh and succulent then chips crisps outside and soft inside so what's not to like, well only my choice, but I do like mushy peas, but the crushed garden peas were nice. Mrs C opting for the pan roasted sea bass with ratatouille and tomato sauce. For dessert we had the Black Forest Waffle and the Sticky Toffee pudding. Both were excellent and a step above the average. Please keep it up and we will be back.

Went for Sunday lunch. There was hardly any veg, the server went off duty and didn't inform us and we were left without anyone asking if we wanted dessert. The poor lady behead the bar had to clear the table and kept apologising for her not being very good at it (it wasn't her fault!) Then, we could've walked out without paying because no one bothered to come over. We had to try and find a member of staff to get the bill. We won't be going back unfortunately.

Very “average” Sunday lunch. 2 small slices of beef for the Roast Beef (almost child’s portion). A small chunk of pork for the Roast Pork. Small portion of potato (2 bits) with the roast, no parsnip, carrots cooked to death. Would have given feedback to staff direct if we were asked, rather than on here. Table behind complained when they were asked. Pity as the waitress and waiter both very competent and nice… Great location, should be heaving on a Sunday! Not good value for money.

Thought we would try this place as location looked nice and reviews seemed good. On arrival waited at the bar and noted someone who arrived after me was served first, a bit put out on that. Ordered starters and mains, seemed a long wait for the starters, I understand Sunday's may be busy but it was a while. One started arrived rock hard on the outer. When the plates were cleared and asked if everything OK, my son politely pointed it out. No apology offered but this was removed from the bill. I had ordered the nut roast off the menu but was informed it wasn't gluten free. It was agreed a Sunday lunch would be made up. What seemed again a really long wait, the mains arrived. I am unsure what was put on my plate instead, very odd sponge type something? I would have enquired but no one checked in if all was OK. The rest of the meal, potatoes and vegetables were luke warm not hot, the gravy the only thing hot. One of the other mains was excessively covered in chilli that the beef rice and veg tasted of nothing but chilli. When the plates were collected this time, no asking if everything was OK. Would have been nice at this point.? We made the decision given our disappointment over the food and length of time taken to give up on desserts. I appreciate the starter was removed but would have been nice to be asked about the mains, one of three on par. I wouldn't visit again given the above, it was a disappointing experience overall for the money.

We went for Easter lunch and was quite disappointed. I had a Nut Roast which was £19.90 so I expected great things. My 3 Potatoes were hard, I had one quarter of a carrot, my friend was lucky and got half (as seen on photo) few beans, maybe a tablespoon of cabbage and gravy. After finishing 2 of our 3 plates were taken away, no pudding menu was given nor have we been attended to ask for it or any drinks. Food has usual been good and I left a review before but this time it’s not been worth it as I left hungry due to not eating breakfast as I expected a bigger portion for the price. Also how is the veggie option £3 more expensive than meat? I find that very frustrating, my choice of not eating meat should not increase the price. Won’t be back for Sunday roast, might visit for drinks and a lunch again as previously it was good.
