Beautiful pub, lovely staff, delicious food… what more could you ask for?! The vegetable chilli is to die for, and it’s gluten free too!

Never been so disappointed in a meal out as I did tonight. 45 minutes wait for our meal, it only turned up when I questioned where it was, people who arrived after us received their meals before us. supposed to be a 8oz steaks, not a chance. So many chips on the plate I felt just to make the plate full. 2 onion rings cooked to a crisp, and rock hard peas .usually go to the alders near Ollerton, but as burntstump nearby thought we would try there. Big mistake.

Very friendly staff, accommodating even during a very busy period. Food arrived exceptionally fast, even before the drinks. No issues with either.

The food is always very good. The service is good too. The menues were a bit sticky when opening them up. The actual place where we sat was OK, until a dog was allowed in, the owners had trouble at first controlling it. A family came in next and child started screaming and crying because they bumped themselves. Instead of taking child outside for a while, they stayed in and we had to endure that sound. Easy to book on app if so wished. Didn't wait long for meal.

The landlady and staff was very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food is outstanding. Always a pleasure visiting here

We got some vouchers through, saying they had a new menu etc. I thought this would mean they had some renovations work. This wasn't the case. Still really dull in there. Plates all had chips in and they didn't even had straws for children to drink through. If this pub wasn't located where it is, with the country park behind it, it probably would of closed down years ago in my opinion. Don't think I'll be going again.

Ok can you please explain how you can charge £4.20 for 2 glasses of Blackcurrant cordial with soda water. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED! PURE GREED. If weatherspoons can charge £1.50 for 2 of the same thing and make a profit, how do you seriously justify such greed????

Visited Easter Sunday in the AM. Wasn't what we expected and was disappointing. Advertised on fb it states 'come meet the bunny and find his eggs' however there was no bunny to meet. The egg hunt was good and crafts a good idea. The breakfast options were not good at all and the breakfast cob was misleading and overpriced for what it was. You really showed that you don't offer breakfast usually and it's not an area you're used to providing.

It's been a few years since we went here... very different place now. Food wasn't great, so much so I won't return. Lovely location though

We arrived just before our slot at 1.45 pm our table was ready and waiting for us which was excellent we ordered our meal from the table it was a smooth experience the drinks came straight away which was brill as we were celebrating my birthday the food came about 20-30 mins later. The food was amazing very tasty overall a great time was had by us all. 👍

My little dog and I visited here for the first time together. My dog Sienna had turned 10yrs old and I was wanting to take her out for a special treat. I had seen on Facebook that this restaurant allowed dogs inside the dining area! So we packed her little bed and made our way to the Burntstump Inn. Sienna loved the welcome and fuss she got from the staff, and I was pleased to have a good selection to pick for her off a doggy menu!! We put her dog bed on the floor by my table and she happily settled down and waited for her food to arrive. Thanks to the Burntstump Inn I was able to treat my girl to an experience I know she enjoyed, it means a lot to me that I was able to do this with her.

Came to sit in the sun and read my book with friends. Was a lovely day.

We stopped off after a long walk with the dogs and kid, the food was so affordable and so were the drinks. Lovely staff who were super friendly and helpful. The portion sizes were very large so really filled us up and the pub had a lovely environment and atmosphere

The staff were efficient and friendly. The food and service were good. Two of our party should have had garlic bread with our meal which they had run out of, but we were offered alternatives.

Food could be better, not complaining, adequate. Chicken so small, lasagne sloppy not firm.

Got a nice beer, served by a really nice man called Caleb, he was a really nice lad and it was great service

I booked here for my birthday celebration. However the presence of dogs barking aggressively at each other was not ideal … I asked the lady behind the bar if there was an area where dogs were excluded …. I got a stern NO …. So we decided that burnt stump would not be a place I would be able to enjoy a meal ( for the avoidance of doubt I am also a dog owner ) we decided to leave but rest assured my birthday meal at miller and Carter was absolutely stunning and I will be recommending there to friends and family

We went to the burnt stump as family from Nottingham and Mansfield met up and is halfway. We arrived and were seated to our booked table straightaway, there were quite a few already in but the staff looked after us really well, prompt with the drinks and when food ordered again the same service. We had a minor problem with one of the plates but this was sorted immediately and the staff went above and beyond what was expected in satisfying evening. We will definitely be back and hope the manager who assisted us, Callum Jones is there to look after us again.

Had a great lunch, we all had a good time, the manager on shift (Callum I think), was the bonus to the experience we didn't know we needed, I'd come back just for that!!

Lovely place to sit after walking the dog. The starter of Mac 'N' Cheese was lovely as were the cheese bites but the portions would have been lovely if a little bigger

We have never been disappointed before, service and food is always excellent, but we went yesterday and we was a bit disappointed, we ordered starters parts of it was missing, nothing was said when they bought it out , we ordered 8 onion rings only got 5 , we had to keep shouting them to sort things out , it won't stop us going but Come on burnt stump sort yourself out

Food wasn't great at all. Had the steak and ale pie and the pastry was like eating mushed up paper. Service was absolutely poor. Was not busy whatsoever with staff just standing around chatting while we were waiting 25 mins for our table to be cleared.

We had a really lovely quiet evening with food and drinks. It was really heartfelt to sit next to some really well-behaved doggies minding their own business. The food was lovely and the service was really attentive. It is the first time we have visited as a couple as I normally pop in after I’ve taken my dog for a wander in the woods. Will definitely return maybe with the pooch for Sunday dinner?

Me and a couple of friends went to the Burntstump for dinner. The staff were amazing from the minute we walked in until we left. The food was delicious and came out hot and the waiting staff were very efficient also did check back. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The food was amazing and the service was awesome. One of our orders was not right but it was rectified straight away. The only reason I haven’t given you a 10 is because my wine was tepid room temperature. I’d asked for a colder glass but was told your fridge probably wasn’t working right and there are no other chilled bottles of the same wine. I would’ve liked to have another glass but not a tepid one. :(

Your wonderful staff made us very welcome, we had had a difficult day and your staff really went the extra mile to make our visit a pleasurable experience.

Mix grill is amazing for price fully dog friendly with an excellent range of food for the dogs as well as alcohol free range is amazing

Watched a large dog attack 3 small dogs and the owner threaten the owners it was a very distressing experience we won’t be returning

My Dogs were threatened by an Irish Doberman owner and staff did nothing, we were regulars here for 3 years then my dog went to greet another dog & we were told if he comes near my dog she will kill him! I asked why the dog was unmuzzled and was told this is a dog friendly pub so shes entitled to walk about unmuzzled, when we left we noticed a lot of caravans parked in car park so obviously allowing Irish travellers on to the premises there were a lot of threats from what used to be a lovely country pub

I have enjoyed visiting this establishment every day for the past month at least. My Doberman was attacked for the third time in two days by the same dog, owned by an apparent regular customer, who refused to keep their three dogs on a lead, despite an obvious lack of recall training. When I informed the owners that my seven stone rescue-Doberman is likely to kill a small out-of-control dog, they saw fit to square up to myself and offer a fight. As an ex-soldier I attempted to diffuse the situation. When invited to combat, the irresponsible dog owners left after calling myself a “Gippo” upon being offered what they had requested. Throughout, the pub staff were professional and calm. Undoubtedly an excellent establishment, with level-headed and well-trained staff. I will not hesitate to visit again. Staff are attentive and friendly, without interfering in the dining experience. The burgers are bloody good too. 👌 Excellent pub, JG.

The building, location and staff were all fantastic. The staff in-particular were having a little bit of a hard time due to essentially running out of food after a busy day - but they were very polite, explained the situation and what substitutions we'd be able to get. The only thing that let it down was the quality of the food I'd say - I ordered the mixed grill but I'm not sure the chicken had seen a grill, texture was as if it'd been steamed in an oven. The gammon was ok - quite thin though. Steak was ok, little bit scraggly and chewy. Mushrooms were incredibly watery and rubbery. The fries were all burnt to a crisp. I think we probably got them on a bad day, any other day I think it'd be much better - will probably return to give it another try because the staff were very nice.

Rang pub in the way to see if table needed booking. Memeber of staff said we have everything avaliable of the menu but no Sunday dinners. Arrived 5 mins later to find out pub is completely out of food and all table booked Staff need to communicate absolutely shocking

It was an amazing meal for my nieces 30th birthday their was 21 of us all sat in the same area nothing was too much trouble.. our meals came out promptly and they even did our birthday cake and let us cut it in the pub and we had it for our dessert.. definitely be going back and recommending to all my friends

It was out first outing with our new puppy. Going out for a meal and bring the dog.....wow . We were very excited after weeks of confinement. Bonus the dog had a lovely meal too and in his own bowl. Cannot thank you all enough for making us feel human again. Great food , service and the dog was happy too. We will be back!

The meals we experienced were good value, well worth a early afternoon meal.

I paid £3 for a bowl of chips and the quantity and quality was shocking for the price I paid!

The beef was tough no steak knives they got the order wrong we waited over 40 mins 4 pudding we had young children with us who should be served 1st not last custard was that thick it stayed in the jug an gravy that was so thin I wouldn't call it gravy more like dish water

The whole experience was great! I brought my 7month old puppy along after having walked around the grounds for a few hours and we were seated in the dog friendly area which was great! Everyone was friendly and they even had the choice for doggy menus! Not to mention a selection of free treats. The food was great and my turkey was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be coming back for the food and a walk around on the grounds with my little pup again.

Been for a family meal today all the meals was excellent piping hot & succulent great menu.!!. The service is excellent all the staff.was pleasant & helpful. Called in last Tues night about 5pm....I had the fish an chips,the wife had hunters chicken.....both meals were excellent...in particular my fish...its probably the the best battered fish I've ever had in the Notts area!!....stunning!!...

The visit was seamless. We booked a table online which was very easy. We were served quickly and the food did not take long to come out at all. The food was hot and well cooked, we were happy with both meals. We then had a pudding which was also very nice. Overall a nice experience and would recommend.

Me and my partner have gone to burn stump for nearly 2 year we loved it then it went through a period where it was awful the food was over cooked and tasted like chemicals someone then they got new management and it’s better than ever we love it , the new manger is super nice and amazing at her job I love that she’s made it even better for the dogs that visit and the food is amazing

Great spot for a meal out with friends, good atmosphere and lovely food. Staff couldn’t do enough for us, we were seated promptly and didn’t have to wait long at all to be fed. Would recommend the cowboy burger

Kids had food poisoning after the meal

The food here was brilliant! The waitress Liv (i think she was called) was really outgoing and polite. The curry was top notch and i would 10/10 go again :)

Excellent service, ordered through the qr code, the starter popcorn chicken and chicken strips came out fresh, our food for 4 people, steak and ale pie, ultimate burger and two children's gammon steaks all came out freshly prepared and cooked, all hot, was fantastic, really enjoyed every moment being at the burnt stump, my favourite pub around Nottinghamshire.

The mixed grill I had wasn’t good for a piece of steak wich was all fat no meet and same the gammon just fat and for the mash potatoes looked like they had been cooked a hundred times

I have made my serious concerns known repeatedly about the fact this pub leaves a dog outside barking and howling continuously. If something isn’t done about this shortly I will report the issue to the RSPCA.

We've visited a few times and thoroughly enjoyed our drinks & meals here. Lovely welcoming pub with the added bonus of the country park. Most recently we came for Christmas Day dinner. Our dinners were wonderful both adults meals were great, perfect portion sized and my daughter (aged 3) really enjoyed her meal, it was a very generous portion to say the under 5s meal was charged at a reduced rate. I would also like to say a massive thank you as we were originally attending as a party of 4 but due to my Mum becoming ill we had to cancel her place. The manager was very lovely, helpful and friendly and offered to refund the price of her meal as we paid in advance. Very happy with our experience here and would highly recommend a visit!

I felt it was very disappointing as I had pre ordered food and was told we only had the chose of a festive menu on the day, when we arrived we was sat at the table and had to wait a long time for food and to say the festive burgers advertised was the same size as a kids meal and then I put in the comments box that they not to have lettuce on and no gravy on the dinner, what was the point of pre ordering as the kitchen staff did not read it. I felt let down because if we had know that the normal menu was available we would of had better chose.

I was absolutely blown away by the food and the attentiveness of the staff on Christmas Day. They went above and beyond for my family. Even plating and boxing up my in laws dinner as they had covid. The staff were all so kind and upbeat considering they had been working all of Christmas Day. Food was also delicious and very reasonable. Thank you so much.

Went Xmas meal I wouldnt rate the turkey dinner at all staff was polite but dinner wasn't nice and definitely didnt warrant £60 per head one dessert was nice

We had such a lovely morning. Everyone was so friendly to us and our puppy. The present she got was lovely and well worth the money. The only thing was i thought the dogs got breakfast or maybe couldve got a sausage included in price but other than that it was fab and we ll be back next year if its on x

The food was very nice especially the fish not the first time I've been and certainly will not be the last I am aware you are dog friendly my only gripe was a dog on the seat sat next to the owner being fed and unfortunately it was a small yapppy dog as well ,but other than that excellent with very polite staff

Extremely quick service from very friendly staff. Great quality food and good portion sizes. If I have to find a negative then only thing I could say would be getting ready for new tables and a touch up in places but that's being very picky

Had a Xmas dinner with friends today [13th December) the meal was excellent and very good portions, the staff were most obliging, would definitely recommend and will be returning very soon

Went for lunch on the 3rd December for my wife's birthday, 3 off our party had turkey lunches that were very disappointing, the broccoli was very hard and the mash potato was very sloppy, the stuffing ball was half cooked and the home made Yorkshire pudding was so hard you couldn't cut it...there were no pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce as stated on the menu...very disappointing as we were all looking forward to my wife's birthday treat.

Not been to the burntstump for a long while as it was not very good we popped in as we was passing today and decided to try the food it was 100% better really nice and the staff were excellent definitely recommend it

Such helpful staff, going above and beyond. A really enjoyable experience. A special call out to Jo who looked after us so well during our visit.

Had our girls Christmas last night (1st Dec). Was a lovely night. Atmosphere, staff, service and food were all fantastic. We even had a go on the quiz. Will definitely be back x

Friendly staff, great value, food has always been great. Given that you can only get there by driving, it's very good for family outings. Also has nice short woodland walks connected and dog friendly.
