This place is the best. Curry sauce is spot on and their lunch time deals are top value. They separate vegan food out into it's own area and they have loads of options.

My daughter put me onto this place and I tried it for the first time yesterday, my goodness, the service was good and the food was delicious, I ordered chips fish and peas, the special, to say it was down as small portions you got loads, I only put half of the chips onto my plate as there was far to many, I will definitely go there again. Lovely food and nice and polite staff

We've ordered from here on many occasions and it's always been amazing on this occasion the fish was awful. Supposed to be large but no more than a small for £10! Hardly any fish meat on it and what there was, was grey. Everything else was lovely especially the curry sauce and it only took less than 20mins to arrive. My husband took the fish back as there was no way I was going to eat it and was met by a very unhelpful member of staff. I know we always say the customer is always right but having worked in the fast food industry myself I know that saying is definitely not true. But I expect to receive something that is edible and not to be spoken to in the manner in which she did even going as far as to blame the delivery driver which is a very low thing to do. It wasn't that it was cold which could be attributed to the driver it was the fact it was totally not fit for eating. It was replaced reluctantly ( thank you for that) but has totally put me off ever ordering from here again. Not so much because of the food but the terrible service! And portion sizes

Ok went to the Eastwood chippy newly opened. The cod was small/medium even tho i ordered a large ! the chips was nothing but grease to them doubt they was even drained at all from coming out the fryer...smallest portion of mushy peas I have ever seen carton not even quarter full. Homemade fish cakes tastes like it had chunks of garlic in it to fill up from fish and all this set me back close to £17 not a great way to make a impression in the first week of opening. Not sure if I will give it another go it's a chain of chippy's so it isn't community based at all they are 3 other chippy's in the local area what's well established all this can offer it's on the high street and is convenient while your in town

I love your menu but pre ordered this evening and arrived 10 minutes before it was ready, the lady said oh it’s just being done now, was left waiting 15 more minutes. I was looking at the bag on the top going cold and thought who’s is that order going cold?? It was mine, then asked when I approached the counter oh are you still waiting??? stressful . :( So, I’ve ordered two Korean teller trays, it says on the menu Korean vegan chicken?? This dish does not contain this item and this isn’t the first time. Is the menu is incorrect or have you forgotten to add this item? The teller tray used to have a Korean sticky sauce it’s now curry sauce so what effectively I’ve had is chips with curry sauce and some chillies. I’d love someone to get touch to discuss as it’s really disappointing. 12/7/24 never had a response from s&e on my feedback, very poor customer service. See you never again.

Well what can I say. I was pleased with the chip shop when it first opened but realised that was to just impress us. I stopped going for a while because I had no peas then burnt peas and the fish was getting smaller and smaller even though I paid for large fish. Tonight ( 22/06/2024 ) I ordered large fish and when I got home they looked small. I won’t be going there again for a long time as I have bigger goldfish in my pond than the actual fish I got. If you phone to complain they tell you to go back but why should you as I already went to pick my meal up and if there is a problem they should come to you to rectify it.

Best chippy in the area and some great deals.

£15 for a small fish, a slightly less small fish (large) and one small chips. The fish was nice and fresh and good batter, but a small thin portion with seven large bones. I expect perfection at these prices. The chips were dreadful, made from manky mouldy potatoes with many black and green bits and were over-caramelised and not fresh maybe the mornings batch left over. Inside the shop is a little dirty and scruffy too. Would not go again.

This used to be one of the best chip shops in Notts, but tonights visit was terrible. I appreciate that all good is cooked to order, but on a Saturday night where the staff out numbered the customers 2:1 it shouldn’t take over 20minutes from placing the order to receive food - my order for those interested Fish, Chips & Mushy Peas (hardly something that should have taxed the staff). I honestly think I could have cooked it at home in the same amount of time! The fish, to be fair, was well cooked, but the chips were very over done (crunchy and in some cases burnt) and the peas, very, very thick and claggy (even by S&E standards). I shall not return!

We had an issue with our Just Eat delivery and the lady I spoke to was so helpful she made all of our food fresh again and contacted just eat multiple times. We order here a lot for a work lunch treat and the curry sauce is to die for. Will deffo be coming back

I sometimes find the staff unfriendly and I get the impression they aren't in support of veganism, rather they're just using it as a marketing ploy. It has changed a lot since it opened and I rarely visit now. A lot of the vegan offerings are now charged at a premium, which I don't support (though the lunch deals are still fair at the time of writing). I was a frequent visitor (in 2021 and 2022) but I think its fair to say often when I've gone, I've regretted it. *My Original Review, c2021. One in a hundred here. They DON'T take advantage of vegans. Same prices for vegan sausages, vish cakes and banana blossom. They say vegan items are cooked separately too. Sometimes chips are a bit undercooked but for the most part, they are good.

Absolutely awesome chippy with really amazing vegan options! We had the banana blossom fish, vishcake, chips and curry sauce and all were really fresh and delicious! Really kind, friendly and helpful service too, and the food was ready really quickly. Super reasonably priced too with generous portions, would 100% recommend!

It's great to have a chip shop offering an extensive and well though out vegan alternative menu. It's quite rare to come across this. Great service and food was served piping hot (the curry loaded chips with crispy kale + chilli were sensational).

Awful. Cold, greasy and undercooked. Ordered a large cod and had bigger mini fish and chips at other chippies. Don't waste your money!

Waited for 2 hours for the food to arrive. When ringing to ask where our order was and expressing our fears that we hope it doesn't arrive cold we could hear staff in the background swearing and shouting "they are not getting a xxxxxxx refund". When it did arrive the large cod were small (appauled by the size; had bigger mini fish on a kids meal). The food was stone cold. The chips were raw in places. How something can be raw, cold and so greasy is beyond me. Will definitely not order from here again and will be sure to tell all friends and family to avoid at all costs. Please do not waste your money.

After calling three times to inquire about the status of our order, we were frustrated that it had taken nearly two hours to receive our food. During the third call, we explained that if the food arrived cold, we would like a refund. The person on the phone shouted to a woman, who we assume was the manager, that we were requesting a refund. We overheard the woman in the background say that we would not be receiving a refund. With swearing added to that I would not order from here again the service shocking the food was not worth the money and with customer service we got I would not waste your money

Visited this wonderful chippy at lunchtime. Been 2/3 times on way home from work before so already know how delicious the chips are. Today had the lunchtime special. It was ABSOLUTELY delicious everything!!!!! The chips are like eating seaside chips in Notts. That grit and same flavour as the coast amazing!! Fish absolutely gorgeous pure white crispy good size haddock for the price. Peas gorgeous!! Best special for the money you could get. I was amazed at the amount of chips and size of fish for the price. The curry sauce is to die for. To be honest it give it SIX stars !!!! Yes had to wait a little while but I’ve still given 5 stars because it’s a busy place understandably the quality and value for money and girls worked efficiently and friendly. But can assure you WELL worth the wait!!Atmosphere buzzing. Cannot recommend this chippy highly enough. Best place I’ve ever been to and I’ve done a few over the years!!! The quality of the food the chef is delivering plus the friendly efficient service immaculate shop - keep up the excellent work guys. Can’t wait to come again THOROUGHLY OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This used to be the best in town. sadly , not anymore, staff incompetent, order wrong, food awful....and that's the truth.

Have used Sea and Earth many times and the food has been excellent. Went today and the fish and sausage were up to their usual high standard (the batter is to die for) but the chips were inedible. Cold, hard and impossible to eat. It felt as if they had been standing for ages, and this was 6pm. I left 90% of them. I don't know what is happening but they need to sort it quick. There are too many chippies in the are for them to serve up bad food

Had the £4.95 special fish and chips with peas. Great service and a 5 minute wait. The fish was great, lots of chips and peas. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would thoroughly recommend, for a chippy tea. There is plenty of food for not a lot of money 👌

We travelled nearly 40 minutes to try the vegan banana blossom and it was well worth the trip! So impressed with the vegan options available and would rate our meal a solid 10/10. The staff were really friendly and everything was also very clean and tidy. We liked the clean cut sustainable vibe and that the packaging was biodegradable. We will definitely visit again! Thank you for a lovely meal and experience.

Lovely taste but the chips were not fresh and soft they were hard which was disappointing but everything else lovely;. I would order again but please can the chips be fresh.

Whilst it was only fish and chips, I have to say it was one of the best fish and chips. The fish especially was especially nice with a beautiful crispy batter.

Some chips were undercooked and hard in the middle. The curry sauce tasted like raw curry powder and sugar - I don’t understand why these places don’t just do the standard curry sauce, as it’s so disappointing when you have something that tastes so much worse. The ‘large’ fish was tiny - if it had been sold as ‘small’ it would have been alright, as it was nice. Overall disappointing and overpriced. There are much better chippies in the area.

This is a great chippy and has fantastic options for vegetarians. Fast service even when super busy on a Friday night. Highly recommend.

Been a few times and was great .. went tonight and SHOCKING. Chicken pie didn't look cooked was red inside hardly any chicken . Customer service shocking. Manager ( alex) shocking no customer service skills at all. Totally gone down hill since been full of kids serving... not going back . Even chips are not great

Always use this place, and we always enjoyed our fish and chips, we ordered a large cod and chips and a regular sized cod and chips, when we got in our vehicle I handed my wife the large fish & chips that was mine as it was that tiny I thought it was the smaller of the two. And her regular fish & chips was pathetically small. Shame it's run itself down, as I wouldnt return. I would rather travel further and get quality fish & chips from bestwood fisheries or Rolleston fish bar.

Always amazing food and service

Picked up an order on behalf of Steve Leek yesterday at 6:30. Food was fantastic, fish was full of flavor, the chips were just the right blend of soft but not too mushy. Service was great too.

So looking forward to F&C at Sea & Earth after a busy busy day. Never been disappointed before but today was really not good. Cold old chips, cold peas fish just OK..hope this is a one off because it’s usually really good.

The food from here is amazing, unfortunately the loud mouthed lady with the reddish hair let's this place down shouting at the customers for their orders, no manners and moaning at customers she clearly knows that it is too busy and can't understand why... if you can't handle the pace love then you need to look a different career and my advice would be that it is not I customer service!! The other lady serving bless her tried to diffuse the loud mouth lady's attitude by smiling at all the customers ... clearly she felt awkward!!

As a self confessed “chip snob” I’ve tried most chip shops in the area…Sea & Earth have cracked it. Good food freshly cooked, quality ingredients and friendly staff at a reasonable price. Not as cheap as some (but you get what you pay for) but is a not gimmicky and serves portions that don’t leave you hungry (not generate for waste). Try it, it won’t disappoint.

Vegan fish was a shockingly small portion for a tenner. And to top it off it was HORRID. I had to spit it out and bin it. Bleargh!! Rang them up to confirm portion size because I thought I'd been short changed but apparently two chicken gujon sizes is worth a tenner. Won't be ordering again 🙃

Apparently these are 2 LARGE cod and medium chips. Now unless the cod has been mistaken for a sardine which it then would be large. That has never in a million years been a large cod. It’s the same size as my fork! And as for a medium chips there’s about 20. Imagine if I’d of got a small chips I may of received about 5. So yeah don’t get a LARGE fish and chips from here or it will set you back £14+ for what in reality is a battered sardine and one potato! Shocking

Ordered a large cod, medium chips & curry sauce. The term “large” should be standardised because to describe the fish I had delivered as “large” is laughable, regular would be generous & I’d love to see the small. The curry sauce was sweet & bland. Chips were nice. Wouldn’t recommend & won’t be returning.

Omg I could have travelled the earth the length of time it took me to get my order. Pie chips and gravy. 20mins waiting then told sorry we have no pies! So I change the order and it takes another 20 minutes to get that done.
