Very welcoming from the minute you walk through the door, we had an excellent breakfast, we went for my sons birthday, the staff at Copper went the extra mile and even gave him a cake and sang happy birthday. Highly recommend.

I had an amazing pizza and Long Island cocktails which were served by a lovely ladies named Nakai and Donna. Great service, great atmosphere and I met some amazing folks 🥰. The place also has card games, bingo and does live music. 🎶

Awful experience last night. Reserved a table. One hour in, no food. People arriving after us were served. Starters arrive. Burnt scallops. And I mean burnt. With a crispy bacon slice .. supposed to be pancetta. It looked dreadful. I sent it back. Another hour on …. No food. We’d ordered rib eye steaks, mixed grills. Told bar staff to cancel our food order. We spent another half hour chatting and finishing our drinks. Staff comes up just as we were leaving stating our food was ready. Bit too late mate. Won’t be returning there. What on earth was going on I have no idea . Shame cos it used to be ok.

Enjoy going each time, the staff are very friend and the service is great. The brunch menu is tasty and their hot drinks. Love that they cater for vegan and gluten free dietary needs/preferences.

I had been craving a burger for days! And I thought to myself where does nice food in Mapperley. Well fortunately there’s loads of great places to eat in Mapperley. But I remembered thinking about coppers breakfast and how nice they are , so copper was the one! The staff welcomed me as they always do, we had a little chat, he was very nice and every time I’d try and get up to get something myself he would insist that he got it for me. The service was great and so was the burger, sweet potato fries and coleslaw :)

Popped in for a quick coffee with a friend, very cozy and stylish place with a great looking menu and particularly delicious looking deserts. Will be returning to sample very soon.

Visited with my partner on Saturday afternoon. Pretty empty. 3 people behind the bar ignored us. I approached & said we wanted food, they told us to sit down then carried on ignoring us. I got up and asked if I could take a couple of the menus. They continued to ignore us. Decided at that point to leave. Went to Flower Shop which was busy, buzzy nice food & drink, good welcome, good service.

We went to Copper in Mapperley for a team lunch, and found the service and food to be excellent. It's a great find and would highly recommend it to others.

Update 1/08/24 - came back to see if the food was better under the new owners and we think it is! I had a burger which was good and the boss enjoyed a pizza ! Tried the meal deal, 2 mains for £13.. and thought it was good value for money, although 2 drinks came to more than the food! The food was perfectly acceptable :)

Such lovely staff that go over and above to accommodate your food and drink likes.. We will be back!!!

Some friends and I had lunch for my birthday at Copper last Saturday 7th Sep. It was great. The waiters were lovely. Food was wonderful. I have severe allergies and they could not have taken better care of me! There’s been a change in management and it really shows. Honestly really lovely - and they came to the table with a rather delicious chocolate cupcake and candle singing happy birthday.

It has changed hands and am glad we gave it a try. The menu is much improved and the food was really nice.Good service and a relaxed atmosphere. Could do with a drinks menu and a real ale on offer but we had a lovely evening and will return!

I have coffee here and a breakfast on a regular basis..The service is warm and welcoming, they have started to do more table service so you can sit and relax. I see hard this team is working and they are doing a grand job!! Breakfast is great and they are now doing a cappuccino and full English for £9.75 which is really worth it. Thumbs up from me 👍🏻😊

Been to copper last night (Saturday). It was a busy night and less staff, while talking to the owner he said all the staff has called for sick leave hence only two staff even though it didn’t affect our enjoyment. Our food was absolutely fantastic, great cocktails and the service was spot on even with two staff. Definitely be returning and would highly recommend everyone to give it a try as its a new business and wants to improve as much as they can. Further the cake looked really nice 😃😄.

Saturday night - one waiter and one bartender, had to point what we want in the menu, food overcooked and bland - taste of Wetherspoons at the price of a restaurant. Would not recommend and will not come back. 1 out of 10

Great staff and excellent food. Wonderful cakes and coffee deal. Grandson loved the outside'garden' area at the back. He recommends the sausage and curly fries 😆

Both meals were just frozen food. One of them under cooked. £14 each. Not returning, but the cakes looked nice.

Absolute dogs dinner. Food was horrendous. Really wouldn’t advise going here if you’re friends with your digestive system.

Copper is a great place to eat. Beautiful quality food, excellent choices and friendly staff. Copper has a relaxed atmosphere and is a nice relaxed environment to visit with family or friends. The service was spot on and very accommodating. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the menu has a good selection available. I only have 2 issues, or more like suggestions for potential improvement. 1. When we were seated the table felt tiny. It was a table for 2 but felt like I would comfortably seat 1. When the coffee came out it felt full and then there were 2 full sized plates on the table with our food and it suddenly felt quite crowded and too full. We would have asked to move but, at a glance, it looked like all the other table's where tiny too (Thankfully it didn't effect our meal or our enjoyment of it, we were just a bit cramped). Just needs slightly bigger tables. 2. The quality of the ingredients of the cooked breakfast was amazing. What looked and tasted like char-grilled bacon, sausage, mushroom tasted beautiful. Everything was beautiful except the toast. I'd say if you were going to pay this much attention to presentation and flavour/quality I would get a better bread to toast. Offer the choice of brown or white, and make sure the bread is on the more high quality side. Something like seeded bread and a nice bloomer/uncut loaf slice. If it was not for this I would have honestly said it was perfect. And while I know 4 stars may seem harsh, 5 stars is perfection and if they only changed the bread I'd give 5 stars. I still highly recommend Copper, definitely worth every penny.

New owners but its even worse than before,i walked in and saw what a scruffy it was and walked back out and went to old flower shop instead ,much better. Ive spoken to several other people in the area and they said they did the same.One couple said they went in and sat down and where initially ignored by the bar staf ,while they waited the lady poped into flower shop to see if they had any free tables returned and walked out with her husband.

Absolutely amazing food drink and atmosphere the gentleman behind the bar went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect so pleased it has new management. The new menu is fantastic and a very good gluten-free options. 5 ***** the cocktails were amazing too.

This was lovely from beginning to end.The staff welcomed us and were pleasant throughout our stay.The food was very good and reasonably priced .This was very good value.My chilli had a good flavour,the pizza was tasty and the burger very good. We will go again.Thankyou

First visit under new management and we will definitely be going back .The best jacket potato I have eaten in years ,fresh,buttery and delicious ,excellent chips and good coffee.All these staples are so often poor quality ,not here .Recommended

After seeing on local websites that this restaurant is back to being owned by local people, we couldn't wait to re-visit. Unfortunately it was disappointing, the food was very average with the 2 meals not being served at the same time. Also we had asked for an additional item and was told we were not allowed this when the meals were bought to the table. We had high hopes it would return to be as good as it use to be, but so many other good choices locally we will not return again.

Nice vibe. Very nice staff. Just been refurbished. Shame about the horribly sticky tables. Really off putting when you’ve come for a meal.

Nice coffee. Need a joiner in to trim the door on disabled toilet, as it only opens 30cm. No business should ever think to neglect disabled requirements like this!

Nice ambiance but sad bacon sandwich: flabby white bread, tiny bit of bacon, and that’s it. I have to say that other meals I saw being delivered looked impressive, so perhaps the bacon sandwich is not their forte!

Lovely bar with good choice of drinks. Really nice garden. Staff always friendly and just a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

We had a private party for 70 people on Sat evening. We had a great time. Food was excellent. Really looked after by all staff. Bikash couldnt do enough for us. Would highly recommend as a Venue. Thank you Copper.

Visted many times since new management, lovely coffee (cheaper than a lot on Mapperley top). This morning had breakfast, quite a long wait but well worth it. Would definite recommend.

We had not even finished are starters before the main course came out. The starters of padron peppers were not great. The bacon on the burger was burnt, the fries were sloppy, no one asked if our food was ok. Not a great experience.

Simply put - amazing. Food was perfect service was dirst class. Jadie and Lee did us proud. Looed after a party of 30 and was exceptional. Food our in timely manner steaming hot cleared up afterwards. Not a massive venue but first class thanks for an awsome night.

Eat here regularly had a mishap last Friday food wasn't great sent it back but the lady who was in charge gave us a free drink and my steak was upgraded to correct it, however this was a rare thing still will visit an eat there thankyou

We had a fabulous Ladies who Lunch experience yesterday. 5 of us ladies enjoyed a new superb 2 or 3 course set menu, such great food to like through all courses. Food was excellent quality when it arrived, piping hot & delicious. We had a lovely waitress Rebecca who could not do enough for us ladies , helping our friend with walking difficulties so much. The service yesterday was excellent. Only one thing left to say. We will be back for more of this superb food &.wonderful service, We can highly recommend this restaurant,

Ate with friends here last week. The service was awful , dirty plates left on the table , no one. Checked food was ok or asked if we required anything extra. Food selection was very poor for vegetarians , asked for a sandwich without the meat & just cheese , was told it would be the same price . When it came there was hardly any cheese , very poor & unappetising . Definitely won’t be visiting here again , seems to have gone down hill .

This place has gone down hill. The food menu is uninspiring, appears to be more like standard pub grub. Not how I remember it. There was no Friday night vibe either. We had booked for dinner, but bailed after 1 drink to go somewhere else.

Came for lunch used to love this place, every table in the venu was dirty full of plates with no effort to clear them in the whole time I was here. I was disappointed to have to order at the bar after years of being used to table service. A rare lunch date with my hubby turned out to be very disappointing experience surrounded by unattended tables. Such a shame

Went to copper with another couple after really good recommendations Friends ordered from the breakfast menu at 11:35 We ordered breakfast and 2 hot drinks at 11:45am to be told they weren’t taking breakfast orders anymore as the chef was prepping for Sunday lunch The menu states breakfast is available until 12pm and we hadn’t been told of any change of service when coming in The table hadn’t been cleaned and had other customers food crumbs on That was never picked up on… We were told that there was 1 chef instead of 3 and that’s why he was struggling So instead, we ordered a ciabatta and a burger I hadn’t noticed on the menu that ciabattas only available Monday - Saturday, but neither did the server 5 minutes later, she comes over to explain the chef couldn’t do that so again, I had to pick something else My ciabatta was refunded (still waiting for it to be processed but I’m trying to have good faith) So we’ve ordered our lunch as our friends are being served theres, bit of an awkward environment The server mentioned there was roughly a 20 minute wait on food Understandable but even more awkward waiting After waiting for our hot drinks for 25 minutes, I had to remind the waitress for them to which we got them 5 minutes after that Our dinner was eventually served after our friends had finished eating. The chicken tasted very strange, the peas were cold, Swiss cheese was not nice at all but I’ll happily put that down to personal preference. 5 minutes through our dinner, a waiter brought out (somehow) cold and burnt onion rings randomly Clearly another mistake as they tried to offer us another burger and went around asking customers if they’d ordered a burger Food was below average Rubbish service Won’t be coming back

My friend chose this place as he'd been many times but my first. I thought it was a nice place with good service but nothing that made it stand out and there was no offers (Friday lunch), which I was aware of and still keen to try. It was nothing outstanding hence I'd probably go elsewhere time just because there's lots of places to try in this price range. Thank you for a nice lunch tho

Visited Copper today for the first time. Hubby and I were looking for a full English to start the day. Took the dog with us too. Staff were exceptionally friendly, was busy but not full and breakfast was served quickly and the best we've had for quite a while. Highly recommend

Our first visit, but it won't be our last. Good food - We had the fishcake ciabatta and lattes. Both were excellent, as were the chips. Friendly staff and comfortable seats. Well worth a visit.

as a regular i couldn’t recommend copper mapperley more! the staff are super kind and funny, the food is AMAZING and the community around the quiz always makes for the best night :)

Breakfast was disappointing. We have been to copper before it changed hands for breakfast and it had been nice, but won’t be going back now. The poached eggs tasted of vinegar and were undercooked. The service was really poor, they were not polite or accommodating at all, and started moving our tables before we had even finished picking up our belongings. They were not well set up for anyone with allergies either and did not seem to know what options were available.

Update on our terrible September visit (see below) - Tom the manager contacted me after I posted the last review for more information and offered to put a tab behind the bar if we would give them another go. We went last night and I'm happy to say it was much improved. Staff were attentive and efficient, food (we all had the Sunday lunch options) were good portions and tasted fantastic. Wine was also good along with the sticky toffee pudding. Still some issues with several items not available on the menu but overall it was a very positive experience. Thank you Table requested hadn't been reserved for us, weren't advised several dishes weren't available until we ordered - no chicken dishes available, no burgers available (apparently because they didn't have any cobs), limited vegetarian options of just 2 mains - one of which was a burger which wasn't available due to lack of cobs. Vegetarian in our group ended up with nothing to eat as they didn't like the one remaining option. Fish and chips that 3 of our group had - the fish was over cooked and dry. The girl serving was friendly which was more than could be said of the bloke. We definitely won't be rushing back.

Have a regular table on a Monday. We all meet up for breakfast. Great. Will put some photos on next time

Poor service, cold restaurant , breakfast was not hot and not enjoyable especially the mushroom and tomato only one egg basically a very poor experience. Staff were friendly though which was the only plus .

We have visited Copper quite a few times living locally to it, we have noticed its decline over the past year. We visited last night, four of us for drinks & food. There were only a few people in at 6pm, we ordered our food which came after a long wait which was ok as we were chatting. One plate of fish & chips was carried over by the girl with her sweatshirt sleeves wrapped around her hands as the plate was hot which was off putting to start with. The food wasn’t good, the fish looked like it had been fried twice, the batter was that crisp it shot off the plate when cut. The lasagne was on the menu with salad & garlic bread, the bread was lovely, the salad was a few bits of wilted rocket, the lasagne had been microwaved so much it was stuck to the bowl it was in, I had something hard in my last mouthful(thankfully) it was a piece of bone as big as a tooth, hopefully it wasn’t a tooth 🤢🤢 We will never go back, lacklustre service, food not good enough.

Visited with my daughter as I had eaten here previously and it was lovely but appears to have gone down hill drastically! Ordered two lasagnes which arrived Luke warm, pale insipid garlic bread, returned the food to the kitchen to be told it would then be 20 minutes, bearing in mind we had already waited nearly an hour, asked for a refund and left......

Visited here to try food for the first time off their 2 for £12.95 main foods. (Offer Monday to Wednesday) this menu isn't on the tables so you have to enquire which food is included or check a poster on the wall or the website. Both ordered beef Lasagne and the food came out in good time and was piping hot and tasty. Then took advantage of their 241 drinks on prosecco and cocktails! The cocktails included aren't listed which is why I've uploaded a photo to showcase what is included. (Says all cocktails and both drinks must be the same) Very enjoyable evening, with great food and drinks plus friendly staff, will be returning. Would of been 5/5 but with no cocktail menu on the tables or website and the food menu is only visible by a poster or an image on the website, this could easily be sorted by having these on the table menus or just a separate sheet with offers.

Lovely place inside with nice decor, we ordered eggs florentine and an all day breakfast. Eggs were not runny at all but tasted nice, breakfast was nice, beans could have been warmer and in all fairness I’d have liked more beans. Coffee was excellent !! Would I come back again ? Sorry but not for me this time.

I have always enjoyed coming to this location for breakfast, but on this occasion due to staffing issues it all went wrong, the food was cold, one of the egg orders had egg shell in and we never received one of the orders.The young lady who was left to deal with the whole fiasco by her so called employers was excellent and couldn't be anymore apologetic, as to her so called employers who reduced this young lady to tears should be ashamed of themselves.I feel after today their clientele will diminish.

Been going to quiz night for quite a few weeks, witnessed it go from a quiet arrange bistro type to an upbeat fun night, made friends with people from all over Nottingham and further that come to this venue - Shame to hear that the General Manager is leaving soon and feel that it wont be the same on a thursday night

I hired out Copper for my 21st birthday party this September. I had the most amazing evening thanks to Tom and his team, who looked after us all night. I would definitely recommend Copper to everyone and can’t wait to go back soon! Thank you so much x

Over the last year and a half, my father and I have been visiting Copper on an almost weekly basis. I've dropped a star because due to the owners selling out to Fat Cat, this has resulted in portions becoming smaller, and the coffee weaker however; we only come to see the lovely Tina whom brings a smile to my fathers face, and is so warm and welcoming and makes the place what it is today by still maintaining the previous ambiance.

Tried to book for 7.00 told only 6.45 was available. Arrived and told to find a seat. Some people having a drink but all left by 7.15. Ordered food and took an age to come. Burger lukewarm. 3 steak pies hot but veg, mash and gravy cold. Staff got us more gravy. Also cold. More gravy. Well a teaspoon full warm. No one else came in. Staff were nice but food dreadful. Won’t be back.

Absolutely fabulous. The food was great. Gluten free halloumi fries - out of this world! The staff could not have been more accommodating and we had a great time. We will definitely visit again.

Early evening visit for myself and the wife. Unfortunately the veggie burger was not on due to a shortage of brioche buns (try the Coop next door), so I had the Buddha Bowl and the wife had the Scampi. Both dishes arrived quickly and were well presented and quite tasty. Service was really good and the meals, I thought were good value.

Visited Copper today for a catch up with a friend over brunch. I had heard it had changed hands and not as good as it was but we decided to give it a go as it has always had a nice outside courtyard and we wanted to make the most of the sunshine. I decided on poached eggs but asked if I could have them on toast instead of a muffin. Apparently this wasn't possible, even though they sold toast separately... They said the till was unable to take that order and they were monitored on their stock usage on a Monday!!?? I had also asked for no hollandaise or spinach and after a while they agreed this could be removed. When it arrives I was served 2 halves of a muffin, which were slightly toasted on the bottom but not toasted on top and without butter, just 2 tiny poached eggs. It was so unappetising. I did say I was expecting them to be toasted and buttered but he just said they had been toasted underneath and fetched me a small pack of runny butter. My friend ordered a sausage brioche roll which did look nice but when she asked for brown sauce they brought bbq. They don't do brown sauce. All in all the food was very disappointing and I won't be rushing back there again.

Pancakes were tiny and overpriced. No atmosphere and poor service as we were left waiting to order at the bar with no acknowledgement. Pot of tea served without teabag so then had to ask for a teabag. Table sticky and not cleaned very well.

Had a great lunch sat in the outdoor area. Loved the music and food - Great service and a special thanks to Jadie. Looking forward to returning ☺️

We visit Copper two to three times a week and eat occasionally. The staff are friendly and always go out their way to have a chat. They hold a quiz night on Thursdays and Tom and Lee make a great effort to bring the whole community together. Really good value for money community hub

What has happened to this once great cafe/bar? I used to regularly visit Coppers at Mapperley for just a coffee and Danish, or a light lunch. I haven't been since COVID, but decided to have lunch there with my son recently. As soon as we stepped into the premises is was clear something had gone wrong with the place. To start, it was midweek lunch, normally very busy. In fact, I did wonder whether I should have booked before suggesting it to my son. However, the place was a shadow of its former bustlisng and attractive place. I counted four other tables when we stepped in. Whilst waiting to be met and seated I commented to my son how quiet it was for that time of day. We were offered a nice greeting and shown to a table and told to order from the bar! What happened to the smartly dressed staff attending the tables? The menu was a shadow of its former self, limited and unimaginative. The floor was sticky and there was a lack of any atmosphere. The whole place was looking on the shabby. When I went to order at the bar, I requested the steak Ciabatta and a burger. When asked if the steak was cooked medium or well done, I requested medium rare. The staff member said it could only be cooked medium or well!!?? Another member of staff politely corrected her and it was ordered medium rare. Our drinks came promptly but then there was a wait, to the extent I was just about to check on where our order was when it arrived. We did not get a check back to see how the meal was, or asked if we wanted anything further. My son said the steak was ok, but medium to well, and was happy to eat it rather than wait for a new one to be cooked. There was no real customer interaction and we left having paid the bill. My wife and I gave it another try a few days later. Again, plenty of tables available. Shown to our table and told it was order at the bar. The staff member cleared our table then returned with a cloth to wipe the table, which was promptly dropped on the sticky floor, picked up and continued to wipe the table. My wife had to ask for some serviettes to dry the wet table. Menu's were tatty and grubby. When I went up to oreder our meals, I was told there was no avacado for the chicken avacado and bacon ciabatta. Hello! there is a green grocer three shops down, a supermarket four shops down and a supermarket across the road!! If I was the owner there would be some serious words if staff can't use their initiative and buy stock items that have run out. I get frustrated when premises are not professional enough to either have the stock available, or at least inform the customer before they order. We left. We went to the premises two door down and had an excellent lunch, more like what Coppers used to be. Lovely food, excellent service and friendly staff. Sorry Coppers, we tried but weren't impressed, we will not be back.

Not been for a while after they took scrambled egg off the breakfast menu.So my daughters family who used to come with us also stopped going.We’ve been going to alternate restaurants for food so they lost 6 customers every Sunday just from us.So today we gave it another go.My god this is really gone down hill.Dirty floors and tables and all staff in casual clothing (those nice smart black aprons /tops have gone.Staff not particularly welcoming and the restaurant looking a bit tyred. Had the full English (no scrambled egg still) although the waiter told us copper at Bingham and west Bridgford have more choice,so will go there next time.Having said that the food was nice,quality Ingredients and hot. So it’s the ❌ from us until they get their act together. Whoever owns/runs this restaurant now is missing out on a fortune with a lot more care and thought.I’d sort this out in a fortnight.

No words we arrived on Saturday lunch time and ordered the chicken sharer platter and to my dispointment the chips arrived 1st and were cold so we returned these and they were replaced then our main dish arrived again we toke bites from the chicken and again to our disappointment they arrived cold again we again had to take the food back and worse of it all they returned the dish back to us the same platter came back to us with the food we had eaten from the whole meal wasn't replaced freshly. We then spoke to the manager and he was oplogetic and said this is not general procedure!!!all returned meals should be replaced fresh again!! and he gave us a full refund and asked us to give it another chance .I'm sorry but no way would I return who knows what exactly is going on in that kitchen and it wasn't as if it was busy in their 2 members of staff 1 checking sauces the other 1 was standing at the bar just watching and looking very bored

Brilliant service, brilliant quiz and brilliant atmosphere, brilliant food and brilliant company!

Very disappointing. Myself and my friend arrived at about 11 a.m and initially ordered 2 coffees. We ordered a further 2 coffees and then tried to order food at 11.45 from the Brunch menu ( a full breakfast) and the main menu ( a chicken dish) to be told that we could only order food from the main menu at 12.00. Both of us told the waitress that we would both be ordering the chicken dish as soon as it was 12.00 o clock and she said she would ring it through at that point. At 12.00 exactly, a different waitress told us that there was no chicken available- I asked if we could both order a breakfast then, which one of us had wanted anyway, to be told that this wasn’t possible as it was now past 12.00 and the chef “ was very strict about this”. It seemed as though there was a determination to be as inflexible as possible. Myself and my friend who has just had a hip replacement and was making her first proper trip out since surgery left and went to Arnold where we had a delicious meal where the food and the service was lovely and nothing was too much trouble . Clearly. Copper does not need or want customers at lunchtime as there appeared to be absolutely no efforts made to accommodate or understand our requirements. I will not return to this establishment nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

Nice quality food and ok service, long delay from ordering to being served sadly is why I can't give 5 stars. I would definitely go again but wouldn't be a "regular".

Even there is a sign that say " wait here to be seated", everyone just wanted in and grab a table and the waitress looked at us funny for waiting to be seated. Food was OK, service could be better.

Great place, lovey food and coffee and great for drinking in an evening
