A party of 10 (6 adults and 4 kids) plus a baby have been for a Sunday dinner after visiting Belvoir castle. I can't praise this pub enough. The staff were so accommodating, friendly and very welcoming. The pub is a traditional cosy country pub that has been modernised. The food was fantastic. Good portion sizes and very tasty. Everyone had a lovely meal and went home very happy. I hope the staff read this as we really appreciated everything they did

Lovely dog friendly pub with great food and service

I can’t say enough good things about this pub. It has a lovely atmosphere and the whole pub is dog friendly. The food is great, especially the Sunday lunch ( vegetarian options available) and the fish and chips. All staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. We have been several times in the last few weeks and each visit has been equally enjoyable. It is definitely at the top of our local pub list, beating Tap and Run for Sunday lunch!

We stayed locally at the coachhouse and was recommended to have our evening meal here. The atmosphere was that of a community pub and really welcoming. the staff were great But above all the food was great with me ordering the smashed welsh beef burger ...i had a carlsberg moment ...this was probably the best burger i have tasted - fantastic hats off to the chef !!!

Excellent Staff attentive and friendly, atmosphere relaxed and welcoming, substantial menu, food was excellent, we had Sunday lunch, the turkey was cooked perfectly, accompanied by crispy roast potatoes, a huge homemade Yorkshire pudding, carrots, roasted beetroot, parsnips and cauliflower cheese… plus a big jug of gravy !! Good selection of puddings, we opted for the crunchie cheesecake, it was phenomenal. We will be back soon.

I dined at The Welby Arms yesterday with my family and a group of friends and would like to say a big thank you to the staff for taking very good care of us with 6 young (fairly rowdy!) boys in tow. Pretty solid pub grub, a nice atmosphere and lovely location provide a good alternative to another local regular. I believe the pub has changed hands recently so would like to encourage the owners to keep up the good work - we look forward to revisiting again soon.

Came for retirement party, food was awesome, staff were fantastic. Will be returning.

We visited here on a Saturday lunch time 4 adults and 2 children, we all had dinners while here. Food all served together and was lovely. Would definitely come again. For anyone visiting its recommended to book, we had a table booked for 12.30 and by the time we left the pub was pretty packed.

Great atmosphere. Busy, vibrant village pub. Food was nice pub grub. Service was good. We were a party of 12 and the meal all came together well. I'm definitively going again.

After years of excellency ran by John the pub was vandalised by the new owners over a relative short period. Glad to see now that is once again excelling with new management.

Very warm welcome, lovely fire going & festive feel. Extremely attentive & friendly service by all. The Sunday lunch was outstanding, so fresh & very generous portions! The Yorkie was the biggest I’ve ever seen! This is a gem of a pub & well worth a visit. Fabulous place. We shall be back

Food and service were impeccable, with a great local Ale brewed specifically for the pub. Returned on Sunday, although it was alot busier, the food and service were spot on, as usual

Lovely pub and top marks for food and service. They even made my fish and chips gluten free. Not sure if it’s safe for Coeliacs though, so ask. They managed to squeeze us in on a busy Friday night too.

Had an amazing meal at this lovely pub. I had the Chicken breast wrapped in bacon with Stilton sauce and my husband had the Beef with Stilton cobblers both were delicious. Really lovely meal Thankyou

First time visiting this lovely village pub, very welcoming, good atmosphere and great service. The food was excellent and not a long wait time, will definitely be visiting again.

One of our family was in a wheelchair and the staff were all very helpful. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was good. (I can recommend the rolo cheesecake! ) Overall a very pleasant dining experience and we will visit again.

The recent renovated pub is great and the food is good. However the toilet area needs a lot of work.

6 of us Stopped off for a Light Bite, early tea after visiting Belton Hall. Friendly Staff, didn’t mind us just having a mix of starters and bar menu options. Food was served hot and in good time. Amazing find 🤩 will definitely stop here again. Thank you x

Very disappointed to be given gravy that wasn't vegetarian, then instead of being offered something off the bill, we were charged for drinks we had already paid for! Shame as it seems a nice place

We went to The Welby Arms in Denton purely by accident as we had booked to go to The Welby Arms in Allington (I blame the SatNav!). The two young girls in the bar were very friendly and accommodating and laughed with us when we realised our mistake. The food was delicious and my Husband and Son said that their fish and chips were the best they have had in a long time. This is a lovely village pub, with terrific staff 😊

Been today after a walk near Belvoir Castle rang on the off chance for a table of 2 and they managed to fit us in service was excellent from start to finish very attentive and always checking everything is ok! Me and the other half both had beef and the food was incredible many thanks to all staff and we will be back

We booked Sunday lunch for an 80th birthday with 18 guests the table were set out so we were all together . The staff were very friendly all the food came all at the same time and was excellent. Would like to thank jake and abbie and all the staff for an enjoyable day many thanks Clive.

The menu is small but in my opinion a good thing as it shows how fresh the food is. The food is lovely, the staff are very friendly. Its also a nice place to walk to from our neighbouring village. Nice to see the pub...

The service was a bit slow. The staff seemed a bit untrained. The food was very goog but my steak was a bit dry. But that was perhaps it was thin. But very tasty. Excellent chips. Overall a good dinner. I would deffinately go again.

Had a great evening meal here after my sons tough mudder…booked late but still got in on a Sunday night and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. Food was very tasty and we left very happy!!!

Went for a meal on Friday night. Orders for drinks and food taken. Took about 29 mins for drinks to arrive and after an hour our food hadn't arrived. The waitress came to us and said that our food order hadn't got to the kitchen and could she take it again. We said no and went elsewhere. It's a real shame as we'd heard really good reviews. But we will be back to try again.

Seven of us have just been for lunch at The Welby Arms and it was excellent in all respects: easy to book, greeted with a warm welcome, delicious food, good service and reasonably priced too. We'll most certainly be returning - thank you.

Great food the Sunday Lunch was very good flavours and a bonus HOT PLATE the service could be better the young man who served us was not aware of the different Real Ales on offer and when he served the food he DID NOT serve the LADIES first needs a little training from the Host The down side is the drinks are very expensive Pironi £5.70 pint White Wine 175ml £6.25 each also the sweets are a little expensive at £6.00 each

Food was really really good, took a while but we’ll worth the wait. We will definitely be back. Very reasonably priced too.

Nice pub under enthusiastic new management. Good pub food. Friendly and dogs are welcome. After another visit, same comments apply. Still a good, local pub serving good food, decent beer and with a friendly atmosphere. DOGS WELCOME too. Plus there was a lovely log fire burning when I went too. Third visit: standards maintained. Recommended.

What a terrific find. From walking through the door to leaving a couple of hours later everything was as it should be. Prompt and attentive service from all the staff. Interesting menu with a few of the usual dishes and others to try too. Now...

Went a month ago for a car club meal. Didn't know they were doing food. Enjoyed our fish and chips that night and really enjoyed an excellent meal (steak) tonight. Good service, great food and, f you're a beer drinker, good choice.

Been a few times as lasagne was home made and delicious, our visit this evening was average. Such a shame “. My husband had 2 very small pieces of gammon that look pale and boiled so small the eggs sat on top and covered the pieces The lasagne tasted as if it was Asda microwave not home made As before The team were not friendly very robotic no smiles except for the young man who was fabulous Unfortunately we will not be going back shame as it used to be fabulous It was getting busy so I hope all there other customers enjoy there meals. We were very disappointed Apologies I reviewed the wrong Welby arms but it will not let me delete

Great little pub in a lovely village, Sunday dinner was delicious. Marked down slightly as the desert wasn’t great but can’t fault the the main course !

the establishment was good. Neat. Clean. not very busy. the food was delicious. there is also a parking lot near the restaurant.

Really pleased to see that this place has reopened. Have eaten here a couple of times over the last month and food has been great. Little disappointed today that the sandwich menu wasn't available but everyone was happy with their meals. Service was a little slow today but it was a sunny Bank Holiday. Will certainly revisit.

So glad it's reopened. We had an amazing family event here last year - excellent catering - and returned for tea this week after a trip to Belton House. Dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. It was simple cooking but very well done. My soy salmon and pak choi dish was one of the tastiest meals out I've had in ages, while everyone else enjoyed their fish and chips and chocolate orange cheesecake. Lovely warm atmosphere too - lots of locals down for a drink and a chat - with non-intrusive music and a cosy fire. There were some nice beers on tap although my other half missed the Batemans they served last year - hopefully it will be back. We definitely will.

Not happy at all. Been for a meal so many times and always happy. Been on the 18th of December for my birthday had a great meal. Had my mum and dad over from Herefordshire so we booked a lunch on Wednesday of this week. Very disappointed the steak pie is from a butchers frozen not meat inside 13 chips and peas for £15.50 and all we got was sorry. We was not happy at all. Only a week before we spend £118 inside

Used to visit many years ago, now it has reopened we came for a Sunday Lunch with family. Very impressed with the quality of food and selection of drinks. Will certainly revisit again in the future.

Run by a young couple that by the sounds of things have been in the trade for a while, and it shows. Food was really nice and I only had scampi.

The food and staff were lovely. The pub needed a good clean as there were spiders everywhere, one even walked across the table while we were there having lunch.

Found this delightful villager pub & had 70’s style scampi & chips in a basket,landlady very welcoming and warm, well worth a visit.

Passed through Grantham last week and was fortunate to pick this place for dinner. Nice staff, lovely food with big portions and well done to the young lad who chose to place the empty bottle in the bin instead of just throwing it and causing a racket!

We popped in to the Welby Arms for a drink whilst we were on a walk in the area. The food looked and smelt delicious so thought we would stop for lunch while we there. Glad we did it as it was lovely, really tasty. Staff were all friendly. Would definitely recommend!

A real free house country pub in Denton village serving lovely range of food. Only complaint it was too filling. Loved it.

Lovely location. Brilliant front of house. Long wait for food, was told half an hour was longer than an hour and nothing special.
