Local to the Bowman and have used it for a variety of occasions over the years . Staff are always friendly and helpful and most people in there are well behaved etc . Looking forward to our next family meal on the 22/2 ..

Had a beautiful breakfast, all the staff were lovely. Very friendly especially Nicola who served us.

My wife ordered 2 meals for £12.49 plus 2 drinks. Only one meal turned up. The server, when questioned, was very rude and aggressive and would not honour the offer price for 2 meals. We will never go back there again.

The start was lovely the lady helped us find a table for the 3 of us had to wait for it to be cleaned but that was okay it was busy after all. Ordered food which came out promptly was a good meal. Then we decided to have pudding i kid u not we waited an hour for it the table of 9 near us got theirs before we did ( they order 15 mins ish after we did) mentioned it to the young lady working the floor ( not the one from the start) she wasn't much help and said the bloke was probably going to get it now but nothing she never came back to see if it had been sorted. I went up to the bar and the lady checked the kitchen and said they are doing it now she did apologise, the puddings were only like 5 mins after that but don't think it's good enough to wait an hour for 3 puddings, this place used to be a lovely for food but won't be rushing back

Updated review: Having visited weekly for years I will not be returning. A member of staff made a mistake taking an order and instead of offering to rectify it when the mistake became clear, adding a meal to the ticket to ensure an offer could be claimed the staff member chose to shout at me in front of a full room of people that he had not made a mistake (several family members heard the order be placed correctly). As such, I have not eaten with my family and I am livid at my treatment. Beyond disappointed at the treatment received certainly not something to want to relive. I have never been treated like that at any restaurant. Couldn't be a review more polar opposite to that below. I visit regularly and the staff are always polite. The restaurant is clean and on the odd occasion we have experienced problems with anything they have rectified them immediately. Great varied menu. Always look forward to going back.

Just moved to the area and was recommended to us. We were not disappointed. Food came with little wait and everyone was pleased with their meal. Natalie even went the extra mile and bought a jug of gravy over so we all had enough. Checked we were happy with everything and was very friendly. We will definitely be visiting again soon .

My friend and I went for breakfast was really good value for the money choice of cereals muffins yoghurt croissant Danish pastries fruit plenty of different teas, coffee was hot then cooked breakfast 2bacon sausage egg beans tomato hash brown was bread or toast to have with this lots of jam and spreads to have with toast 😋 staff was lovely very helpful will be going again

Just popped in for a drink on our way home. Guinness was good as was Golden Hen. Food smelled good but on this occasion we weren't eating. Frankie and Lauren were particularly friendly and made us feel very welcome.

I came for lunch with a friend. The service and food was fantastic - friendly staff. When I went to the toilets, I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and nice smelling they were. I'll definitely be back again!

Went here yesterday with my parents and was super impressed, food was hot and delicious and they had some great BOGOF offers on too. Staff are really friendly and very helpful, they really want everything to be good for you. Give them a follow on Facebook, they always have something going on, quiz nights, showing the football etc. Great place, lots of parking, outside tables under cover, great food and wonderful staff, what’s not to love! Very happy to recommend x

The pub was freezing cold. The food took 50 minutes to arrive and when it did I wished it hadn’t. Half of my steak was just a big lump of fat, and it was cold in the middle and a good vet could have brought it back even tho I ordered medium. My daughter’s fish was hard, overcooked and was mainly burnt batter with a small amount of funny coloured fish in the middle. I’d say the worst pub food I’ve had in a long time. We came a few weeks ago and it was crap then aswell but everywhere deserves a second chance. Definitely won’t come again. The chef interview must consist of “so who here is absolutely horrendous as cooking? “ you’re hired. Not to mentioned old food still stuck to knife and forks.

Came here 2 weeks ago on Thurs night for a family outing ,atmosphere was chilled,food 2 meals for £12.50 was a bargain and excellent,but most of all the staff and service was absolutely amazing couldn't fault anything would highly recommend the bowman,look forward to coming back soon.

Great place to stay, tram station 5 minutes walk away to get to the city centre, a bus service 2 mins from hotel .
