Clean. Service good. Food good.

Great food but is very busy, so it's a slower service, with big queues to pay and to get to the carvery. Some of our party had finished eating by the time we got our food, quite noisy, but don't feel harassed to get out so generally a good experience.

I have a NHS Blue card. Drinks and 5 meals, including 4 carveries £59. Fantastic value. The beef was perfect. Great buzz of an atmosphere too. Staff very quick and friendly. Best carvery I have been to for years.

The food was good, service was good. The pud had a great atmosphere and was very busy. The cark park was flooded but we got through and parked on a high bit. Great pub for a quick meal out.

First time of visiting. Had the chicken steak fondue. Best steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Very recommended.

The Lord Ted is a well known and frequented chain pub &restaurant in Newark and you get exactly what you expect but with a smile and great quality, she carvery was fantastic thank you Simon and the team. Drinks were quick and easy to order from Trinity and the table staff were great aswell unfortunately didn't catch thier name tag. The staff even brought out the birthday cake we provided with candles lit exactly when we asked. Great experience 👍🏻

I ordered the large breakfast and it arrived on a large oval plate which only just held the food it was so large. Quality cooked food and Wetherspoon prices. Incredible and the staff and service was exceptional. Very friendly and accommodating - highly recommended.

We went for Breakfast on our way back from EMA. Car Park signage about Parking was very confusing. It would be more helpful if it said that Customers can be sign in their vehicle registration number inside on arrival. Breakfast was good & friendly Staff. Latè was lukewarm.

Never a problem here ,food always good and piping hot ,unlike some places locally the staff always are pleasant

Went on a Sunday lunch time for carvery, was good quality and quantity of food for the price. Dessert of a Trio cake slice was also very nice.

I don't think it's acceptable for a area manager of green king to be performing staff supervisions in front of there customers, highly inappropriate.

Ordered the tikka masala which was fine but not enough of it. The staff were great and the place was nice apart from the flooded carpark!

Made to feel welcome. Food overall was lovely. Turkey was beautiful, however beef was chewy, didn't eat it.. The guy on the carvery wasn't very pleasant to be honest.. We did have an issue with 1 meal but it was dealt with efficiently. Merry Christmas 🎄

Great visit! Staff are friendly. Food was good, cavery meat is very rare/bloody, but i must say after mentioning this is not to my liking they grilled my meat. Puddings great but did take a while, although it was a sunday and busy.

Dropped in for lunch. Seemed to be very popular. Good choice of food on the menu at reasonable prices, most notably the carvery. We had Light Bites, lasagna and a chicken and bacon salad. Both were very nice and the only comment was that the croutons were a bit soft.

Very warm and home atmosphere. You feel here like among friends. You can watch live sport streaming on TV. Broad selection of beers and other drinks and strong alcohols. Really tasty food. This time I was only drinking their cold lager. San Miguel

Everything about this place is great. We first visited on Monday for a carvery and enjoyed it so much we went back again on Wednesday for another. 10/10

Decent carvery with a nice selection of meats (beef, turkey or gammon) and lots of veggies. Good value for money food and a reasonable choice of ales and drinks. The roast beef and Yorkshire puddings were both very nice.

It was our first time visiting this pub and it was a very welcoming visit , we had a family meal for my in law's 60th wedding anniversary , we sat near the fire as I was cold but soon warmed up , the staff were brilliant and friendly and we plan on visiting again very soon even thou we live in Cheshire

Busy Sunday lunchtime (and I mean busy!). We'd booked a table, which we had to wait for. However once seated, orders were placed and we were quickly guided to the carvery. There was a good selection and plenty of it. Everything was being replenished often, so it was all freshly cooked. All pretty good, guess that's why it was so busy.

Dog friendly as long as you don't mind sitting outside, but they do have heated pods you can use.

I really don’t have anything negative to say about this place. Food (carvery Lord Ted) quality/price was amazing. Staff is really helpful and everyone was looking clean and tidy as well as the place around us. Good atmosphere and I loved the ceiling.

Arrived just be for carvery closed, was seen to sraight away, went to carvey and met by a very pleasant chef who carved good potions of meat. Veg was plentyful and hot. Gravey was lovely and thick. Requested GF gravy for wife and chef went and made her some fresh gravy and brought it over.

Didn't have the carvery but it looked great and very popular. Had the all day breakfast which was good. Nice bacon sausage and eggs let down a bit by boiled mushrooms and overcooked beans. Would be better with fresh or even tinned tomatoes. Will be going back to try carvery

Carvery pub with quite large additional menu. You can order via an app which is a nice touch. We ordered drinks and food and the delivery was very quick. Staff were nice and the food was great value. Would recommend for a hearty meal and relaxing drink. Also nice kids play area outside.

Good food, service was pretty good, just had to wait to order at the til but another member of staff came over so it wasn't too bad. Large TV screens dotted around which I found distracting. Tables cleared and cleaned really quickly between customers.

Food is nice and affordable, Carvery excellent, drinks options at affordable prices. The menus have lots of choice, food at carvery is hot and tasty, lots of choice, three plate sizes to suit your appetite. Staff seemed better, helpful, friendly and very busy tidying up and cleaning tables. Also check to see how you are. Much improved. The decor has been updated, food was hot and tasty, we ordered from the menu. Staff always busy and checking in on customers. Cleaning up and clearing table and encouraging add ons at end of meal.

Staff poorly trained, sat at a table and ignored, went to the carvery counter having been in the queue 20 minutes to be told by the server to go to the bar to pay first, thst would have bee another 19 minutes and then another 20 back in the carvery queue. Not everyone that visits a pub knows the procedure. We left.

Not sure if it was an off day but wasn't terribly impressed, I understand that the kitchens were closing early but that would have been around 8pm we were around 3pm. It was quiet and the staff were helpful. There wasn't any menu's for gluten free meals, these are not kept on the tables, but after asking at the bar I got one as I was ordering the other meals. The choice was suprisingly limited. The meals themselves were not great, but when your hungry and in a hurry you just eat and go. As I said before it might have been a bad day

Only popped in on the way home from work for a quick drink and to collect a takeaway carvery; and was pleasantly surprised by the service and the quality of the food. I plan to return for a proper dine in meal in the not to distant future.

Carvery was very nice and well cooked,good selection available. Very very busy Sunday arond 12 to 13.00 as youd expect.

The carvery is excellent with a choice of three meats, many vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets. My roast beef was very tender and flavoursome with the vegetables cooked to perfection, too. This, the millionaire's cheesecake which I can also thoroughly recommend and two drinks came to less than £20. Service was very quick, attentive and friendly. The pub itself was immaculately clean with enough atmosphere to be feelgood but not so much noise conversation had to be shouted!

Bar staff not interested he didn't even look at me, chef come out of kitchen with his fingers in his mouth, not good. One girl clearing tables was very nice and explained how the carvery work, something the bar taking my order should have done. Don't think I'll be back.

Working on my boat at the marina. Usually we'd walk into town for food, however, we tried various places but all not serving food due to it being bank holiday. We decided to try the Lord Ted instead for the first time. I have to say I wish we had tried this place before, staff are amazing and very freindly. Food was extremely good and very reasonably priced. We'll be back.

We live miles away from you and happened to Google a carvery in your area whilst passing by. So glad we came across you. The food and service were Great. Thankyou. Our local pubs where I live in Buckinghamshire could learn a thing or two

Stood around too long waiting to be served at the carvery. Someone eventually went to get the chef(?) but he appeared to not want to be there. Food was nice and rest of the staff were too.

Some food looked good I ordered mixed grill wish I'd had the carvery couldn't eat the stake but carverys looked very good

There were 23 of us for the carvery. It was no problem. Food was good

No food eaten on this occasion, just a most welcome coffee which could be said to have saved my sanity, thanks to the caring staff 👍👏.

We arrived a little after 14:30 when the carvery finishes on Monday, yet they allowed us to have it anyway which was nice. Service was good, food was OK considering we were amongst the last to be served so the food had stood a long time.

Use the pub a lot as we live over the road. My son and daughter in law were visiting from Canada and wanted a much needed night out , we suggested Lord Ted , my daughter in law asked for a drink at the bar which they didn’t have (something she has in Canada ), she went to look at the menu for something else and when she came back the waitress was stood making fun of her accent and laughing about her to another member of staff , she came home upset . We had a table for 11 booked the following Tuesday and had considered cancelling but couldn’t notify everyone in time , we went and the same rude waitress was serving us . Won’t be going back again anytime soon and certainly won’t be recommending to anyone

Food was delicious! All 6 of our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My local Greene King Carvery could learn a thing or 2 from your chefs... especially with those gorgeous crispy spuds! Service was brilliant, we used the app to order and pay, which made things really easy. Kids loved the playground too.

We had a full breakfast and the carvery of the day. My hubby enjoyed the breakfast which as well as being delicious, was a healthy portion. I had the carvery which was roast turkey. It was very tender and succulent. Great variety of vegetables and a great gravy. The Yorkshire pudding took up a third of my plate! Apart from the chef serving the meat, one served oneself the vegetables. Excellent value for money.

Carvery gammon found it salty carrots Brussels very hard and cauliflower cheese not my best experience thought they could have been cooked longer.

Called in going on holiday, we had lovely Sunday roast it was just the way we like it, nice and ready to eat, really tasty, the pub it's self was very cosy very clean and the staff we met were really pleasant to us and just made us feel welcome hope to call again soon, Tom linda

From out of town Was Very impressed with the service and the carvery . Value for money. I will be going back when next back in Newark on Trent. I would recommend a visit.

Me and my wife visited for a carvery,advertised that the roast beef was slow cooked but was tough as leather,gammon and turkey were nice though.I asked the woman on the carvery counter if I could have a slice of beef and she gave me a bag of fat and dried beef.paid extra for pigs in blankets and they weren’t burnt and hard,asked another member of staff and was very helpful and bought some fresh ones for us
