Really good pub vibe inside. Tacos were very tasty. Decent beer selection with some quality guest ales in. The barmaid thoroughly knew her business and was non stop.

Great pub just needs more people to come to improve the atmosphere as is a large pub and people get lost in it. Fine if you want to bar hang. Beer selections are good and staff are great.

What a wonderful little pub. Cracking Mexican food and a bewilderingly good selection of both cask and keg beers. Had a taster of the carrot cake ale (surreal) and the Pride-friendly 'bubblegum rainbow unicorn sparkle' that was blue and evoked childhood raspberry Slush puppies 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔 Bar staff super friendly, particularly when we ordered Tuaca (being out-of-towner Brightonians, it's a regular tipple). Would highly recommend and will head back the next time I'm up in Newark.

It's been a well overdue visit to Holy Moly@ The Fox and Crown. Had a nice pint of IPA and a cider to help the fantastic pizza go down. Loved the base, and the pepperoni was quantity. We had a side dish of Jalapeños poppers which rounded the meal off. The next visit is to try the burritos 🌯.

A real pub at last, this feels as traditional as possible. A great selection of food, drink and customers. Like every London pub 40 years ago. Absolute bliss

Bar staff didn't really seem to care if you were there or not building was tatty and not particularly clean. But a good selection of drinks on offer.

Lovely pub, great food and a great atmosphere. The young lad behind the bar was extremely helpful and even sorted us out with a taxi as we were struggling to book one. We will definitely return.

Ordered food and drinks for 8 people, once the barman could be bothered to serve us......chatting to his mates for 5 minutes before acknowledging us! Was specific about certain ingredients for one of the meals......the meal csme out incorrect. We were hit with a barrage of sarcasm and attitude. Such a shame, good real ales, food was average. Friendly staff, cracking pints of Verdant craft beer, delicious spicy quesadillas, Castle Rock reward points, what's not to love? Will be back next time we're in Newark!

Called in for a cheeky pint while out shopping yesterday. Great selection of real ales, I had the Elsie Mo - obviously well kept beer, tasted great. Also tried half a pint of strong cask stout called "Snowball" which was excellent. My wife isn't as refined as I am so she wanted a prosecco, which they also stock - bonus. Got peckish while I was there and decided to try some of the Mexican street food. Really glad I did! I had the Chicken Pastor Tacos, which I ordered as "Spicy". Order arrived - 3 good size tacos with the chicken filling and a garnish of guacamole and salsa. Absolutely delicious , glad I didn't have the extra spicy as they were more than hot enough for my taste, (and I do like spicy food), so take on the extra spicy at your own risk. Overall: Friendly, knowledgeable service in a nice old fashioned traditional pub. Very well kept ales and an excellent selection. Food was top notch, could have been a tad warmer (temperature wise), but soooo tasty I just kept on eating. It's worth going just for the beers if you're a real ale fan, (and they have prosecco to keep everyone happy ). But the great mexican food is the icing on the cake, highly recommend you give it a try - we will definitely be back.

A super friendly and welcoming pub, with a great relaxed atmosphere. Loads of craft beers on offer and the Holy Moly mexican food is so good!! Definitely recommend the veggie burrito.

Mexican food was well nice and very reasonable, beer was excellent and the service and staff were very good. Atmosphere wasn't great but it was 5pm on a Monday so can't blame them for that! This was the last of three work visits to Newark and I'm very annoyed that we went to other pubs/restaurants for food on the first two, this place was way better. Would definitely recommend. Will be back if I'm ever in Newark again

Great real ale venue in Newark, love the selection and varied strengths of beers, something for every palate.

I recently visited this place to celebrate a birthday. Initially, I felt like it was very stuffy and there was no air to breathe, but I got used to it with time. Air-conditioning is missing tho. They have a great selection of beers, which is beneficial. Very clean toilets, however very cold. Felt like in the fridge. I would lower the music, otherwise, everyone has to shout to hear. Very friendly staff. Generally, I enjoyed my time out

First visit since reopening, great selection of keg beers fresh from Neon Raptor tap takeover, no major changes to how the pub used to be, definitely back on the Newark pub trail.

Glad this pub has reopened. Was busy as Beermuda triangle was on. Guy behind bar was working like a one armed paper hanger. Could've done with a other person to help out. Lovely selection of ales, well kept amd delicious. I'd go back again.

My first visit and probably last as they are due to close at the end of Aug. A really great pint and full attention to social distancing etc. I shall miss you.

Came with a friend last year for the first time because there were good vegan choices. I was very impressed of the choices when I seen the menu and I plan to go back again this weekend. A lovely place. It really felt welcoming and lovely staff.

Spent the weekend in Newark and tried most of the watering holes. This was our fave. Good beer selection, Six Nations and free cheese!

Nice but the choice of live music could have been better. And the staff can very choosy to who they want to serve they seem to want to serve requlers first.

Although this pub is always busy it is a very friendly, sociable place. Being so convenient for the Palace Theatre, this is where we come for a pub meal when over from Lincoln to catch a show. Pub meals are good value too.

Had a great impromptu night at the fox and crown. Open mic night on a Wednesday was a fantastic compliment to great beer and good food. Well worth stopping by for friendly service any day of the week.

Proper pub with old style decor, friendly staff and great range of individual beers and ciders. They do food lunchtimes and 5 til 9 evening. We didn't eat there bit prices looked ok. Selection of the out real ales too. Probably wouldn't recommend it as child friendly.
