Becoming a regular now Laura and Issac always make us feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble definitely recommend staff are brilliant and food and drink never disapoints lovely place !

Always enjoy dropping in for breakfast or just to have a drink. Staff are really great and friendly. Nice spot to just relax. Thumbs up 👍

We had a table for 13. Isaac our host was superb. The food came out together and all hot. Which for 13 people doesn't happen everywhere. We had a birthday cake which they were happy to help with. We had a little boy who dropped some cake which I was cleaning up and Issac insisted he would do it and wouldn't let me help. Super young man thank you all but especially Isaac

Me and my partner and the little one come here to have some food tonight food was gr8 mine come out a little bit over done the staff was very nice and good when we asked if it could be done a little less they did not give attitude or roll the eyes the manager called Andy was gr8 and as a kind gesture he offered me a free dessert and that was nice definitely will be coming back the staff was amazing

Cheap and cheerful hungry horse pub

Had a great experience, our waitress Ashlei was amazing, extremely friendly and had fast service. Food was incredible.

The location of this pub is perfect for those warm summer evenings. Just to sit at the side of the canal & enjoy a drink & some tasty food. There is free parking where you put your reg in at the bar. The staff are friendly, welcoming & helpful. The food was served hot & with a smile. Once eaten, the table was cleared in good time, ready for a delicious pudding.

Me and my work colleagues come here all the time and don't think we have had a bad service once, staff are always friendly and welcoming. Food is really nice and price is good aswell. I definitely would recommend coming here weather for food or a nice drink with family, friends and work night out.

Order was messed up at the starter which was rectified. Main meals came out .had the turkey roast very disappointed with that . Turkey was dry wasn't even real meat just 3 slices of processed something. Asked for extra gravy and the staff were very rude .wouldn't recommend coming here

Very clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful, decent wait time for food, staff check to make sure everything ok, quiet on an early Tuesday afternoon if u want a quiet meal. Staff let us keep a cake behind bar and kept it chilled until ready, put candle and sang happy birthday. Shyama was our customer server 5*s good service

Amazing location, amazing food, friendly staff, and electric car chargers available! My girlfriend and I have been there countless times for a nice dinner outside, and I also go there often in the morning to get a coffee on my way to work, I definitely recommend

I attended witg my mother, son, mother in law and partner and despite it bdjng extremely busy the service and food was brilliant. Special mention to Hannah who waa very accomodating when an extra person joined our table who i forgot to add to the original booking.

Booked this venue for a retirement do for 13 people. Meals were delicious, presented well hot and tasty. The manager Connor, and the staff where all very nice and looked after us really well. Very good prices so will be returning

Went to Waters Edge last night for dinner and didn’t realise I had to input my reg in the machine so I could get a fine. Spoke to Andy this morning and he has assured me not to worry, a pleasure to speak to and very helpful - thanks Andy!

The burgers are a little underwhelming. My bacon, cheese burger had only one very small piece of bacon on it.

The food was fine, Hungry horse/ Green king are not an expensive place which is why my family and I visit on average 1 every fortnight. We have been to various locations and I guess been lucky not to have had to verify parking. We did not see any signs and nor were we asked upon ordering. I’m not saying that there weren’t any. We were over visiting our son as he is at university there. My family spent just shy of £100 . Very upset today to have received a parking fine for £100. Will not be visiting again. I’d cross the road in future and visit Pizza Hut!

We like it here it’s cheap and cheerful. You get what you pay for and the portion sizes are good.

Came here on Valentine’s Day with my partner and we were very disappointed with the service and the meal. My partner order the larger mixed grill, the egg was still raw and there was at least 6 chips on his plate but on the menu it stated “ a larger portion “ if that’s a larger portion then I would like to see a small portion of chips! We confronted the waitress and she looked at us as though we were stupid! I had the hunters chicken, a small amount of peas and the chips were dry, chicken didn’t taste very nice either! We have only ever drank here and never eaten but it’s fair to say after that experience, we won’t be returning for food ever again.

The food was served very quickly and everything we ordered was available. The pub is pretty nice and well maintained. The food was good value like any Hungry Horse, The only thing not to forget if you come here is to sign you car reg in on the ipad or you might get a fine. I'm sure there are signs up telling you to do this, but I didn't notice any reminders in the pub. The location next to the canal would be great in the summer, but it was too cold for us to sit outside in February.

Been here a couple of times for a drink as it’s walking distance from my place, always been nice enough, sitting by the canal for an hour or two. Noticed there was EV chargers in the carpark so came down when the carpark was quiet to charge my car as I’ve not got that facility at home and walk home before returning to collect it. Just been hit with a £100 fine, even worse knowing another one will be coming soon as I’ve been there twice. Just a reminder warning to others that may think about doing the same. Not sure I’ll be back for any reason now.

Thisnis mine and my partners local, so we find ourselves here regularly... The food is really good pub food, which automatically reduced the stars I'm afraid but it is great pub food. Staff are great and always welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere during football games is feverish

Very good quality Christmas dinner and hardworking front of house staff. Gave staff a cash tip each as they were working so hard Including the pregnant young lady.

Haven't been in years. Completely different experience. Friendly staff. Foods better than ever. Manager clearly managers his team well. They all seemed happy in general and was an enjoyable experience. Will be going again soon. 👌🏽

We were cyclists on our journey to Nottingham Christmas market and we stopped at Waters Edge for our evening snack. The staff were efficient and friendly.The catering department provided warm and enjoyable food. Andy, a staff member was very helpful in provided a safe and secure place for our cycles, as well as taking our order with efficiency and humour. To finish off with Christmas crackers was the icing on the cake. A top place to visit.....for its welcome and food. Well done Waters Edge!!

Stopped here for a nightcap on the way back to the hotel.. we were treated exceptionally well.. so much in fact that we returned for breakfast the next day... where again we experienced fantastic service..

We had Christmas dinner for 4 adults and 1 child and it was great. Our table had been decorated and looked lovely. The food was good and there was plenty of it. However the best thing was the staff who were fantastic. They truly made it into a lovely experience. Thanks to all of you.

We went to Waters Edge largely because the weather was so foul and it was the closest to The Quays, Being Sunday we opted for the roast dinner and chose Turkey. It was outstanding; the turkey was 3 large slices of well cooked breast meat, the roast potatoes were crisp and perfect as was the creamy mash. In addition there were garden peas surprisingly served hot (everywhere we have eaten this last 2 weeks, they served the peas luke warm or cold). The brocolli and cauliflower were also piping hot (how do they manage that?). Added to this was a large dish of thick tasty gravy. The only disappointment was the chunk of stuffing. This was a superb meal and surpisingly under £9. The Millionaires' Cheesecake was sublime. If you get the chance, do visit Waters Edge before Christmas - you will not be disappointed.

Got food poisoning..... food not cooked properly. Disappointing to say the least

Looks really tired, lots of banquet seating split and looks old, sticky tables couldn't possibly have been wiped properly, food ok and service average but overall needs updating.

Was OK but the place seriously needs renovating as it is looking very run down and grubby. Food was just your average chain pub food £13.50 ish for mixed grill (Chicken breasts were nicely cooked) Service was quick

Went in on a Friday evening 18.00ish very busy with only 1 seving behind the bar!!!! Order food which we were informed about the wait, no issue. Well worth the wait mixed grill was amazing.... That good went back on the Saturday for the breakfast again amazing food.

Just had a lovely meal at the Waters Edge tonight. We were served by Naomi who so courteous and efficient who looked after our us during our visit. I would definately recommend the Rivers Edge for a visit.

Great food great price nice place

The kids loved the Mac and cheese and the brownies but the beef and mushroom pie wasn't so good. But for the price,, definitely worth it! Very casual, great place to bring the kids. You must order at the bar which felt a bit weird.

Food was great on the occasions i visited and the staff was very friendly on both abrasions. Got different seating areas one for kids with TV in booths does get loud with the kids. And a more quiet area. So suitable for all that want to visit.

Lovely location with plenty of outdoor seating. Only stopped for a coffee on a Sunday morning. The place was empty. I imagine it would be very appealing on a sunny weekend evening.

John and Andy were absolutely fantastic, great service really friendly, Andy really engaged with my little boy making him laugh, love coming here just for the atmosphere and bonus the food was great too.

We go to The Waters Edge for a family meal, we go on a Monday as kids eat for £1 which keeps the cost down in these hard times. We love the atmosphere here with friendly and happy staff making sure we have everything we need and everything is ok with our meals, we are always happy, satisfied and full after our meals. We then get to have a nice walk down the canal to work off all the food. Overall its somewhere I recommend to friends and family with different daily deals meals to suit everyone. If you want a great deal with superb value for money then this is the place to go.

The food is ok but they forgot part of our main course which I had to go and chase and then we waited a full hour for our three desserts to arrive, which again only came after I chased. EDIT - since writing this, I also received a £100 parking fine for not registering my vehicle whilst parked in the pub car park. I’m usually pretty good at registering my car in these situations but I honestly didn’t notice any signage in the pub saying you need to register for parking and none of the staff mentioned it. All in all, a pretty miserable experience at this pub. Avoid.

We visited today, from walking in to leaving we had an fantastic time, lovely staff, General Manager (Andy) was lovely very welcoming great with all customers, made you feel at home, the food was lovely can not fault it in anyway, the Sunday roast were delicious enjoyed by all Top 5 star thank you 😊

This was a truly dreadful visit to the Waters Edge. We foolishly booked a table, but none available, told to go and find one, did so, which was empty but filthy, had to ask for cleaning stuff so we could clean ourselves. 2 of the 4 items on the menu were unavailable, so we ordered alternative meals. Which were at best poor, no cutlery, no condiments, and anything asked for took a disproportionate amount of time. Staff generally tried to help but were rushed off their feet. Noted also slightly sarcastic male member of staff, making unnecessary comments regarding cutlery when we ended up with too much. All in all, it was a very poor visit.

There are a great many fine dining experiences in Nottingham and I can honestly say that the Waters Edge is not one of them. The first thing I noticed on arrival was that none of the four cask ales were available. We grabbed a menu while we joined the lengthy queue to order and were pleasantly surprised by the non-meat options available for my vegetarian wife. Unfortunately, when we made it to the bar, we were informed that all of them were unavailable other than the nut roast, so she reluctantly ordered that. We ordered soft drinks for the kids and weren't offered glasses, so we went back to the bar to get some. One of the glasses we were given had pink lipstick marks on it, which whilst a nice touch wasn't quite what we were after so we returned it for a clean one. We sat at our sticky table and waited 50 minutes for our food. When it arrived, the nut roast was overcooked and inedible. I ordered the Sunday roast with beef, with the beef being similarly overcooked - the two grey slices that I was presented with had a texture similar to my wife's leather handbag. The gravy had a thick skin on it and had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for some time, and the carrots were from a tin. My son's burger was not too bad, but the promised onions rings and fries turned out to be one onion ring and fries, so presumably they were running out of onions, too. The staff were all nice enough, but the service is extremely slow and the food only just qualifies to be called as such. There are so many eateries in Nottingham that are vastly superior to this in every way, so I strongly recommend that you avoid at all costs.

Lovely, considerate team. Great food, friendly atmosphere with nice canalside views. Visitors won’t be disappointed.

The Ye Old Trip To Jerusalem is just up the road, and that is also a green king pub. A world of difference between the two.
