I used to go here every morning without fail. but since the new ownership the quality has become terrible. I will now walk way out my way to go somewhere else. (Crofters Mill, or Hungry Pumpkin)

Yo no podrá venir aquí.

Late night. Next day... Needed the full English. Sat outside on the front of this little gem in the early Sunday sun, scoffed, and watched Nottingham waking up. Lovely coffee. Lovely grub, and not too dear either. #nowrecoveredthanks

Always on the lookout for a good quality vegetarian breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised by Cafe Hockley's veggie Full English. Set in the cool part of town the cafe has an understated frontage and a simple clean interior, it's a not a showy hipster diner by any means but I was delighted with the food and service. The breakfast had all the usual elements and was a decent portion without being excessive, the veg sausage - so often a cheap potato derived deal-breaker - was a good quality meaty style banger, and what really impressed was a decent portion of fried halloumi which works really well as a salty bacon substitute. That was a nice touch. Price was very reasonable and certainly cheaper than more flashy cafes in the area. As veggie breakfasts go, this is one of the better ones I've had in Nottingham. A good find.

I used this Restaurant Saturday evening, sat outside and had the evening fixed menu. Starter was huge green salad with halloumi and feta, very nice. The main was penne and tomato and lardons. Starter was best but both very good and at £7.95 Bargain !

Although I am eating mainly vegetarian food these days, the previous reviews of this place tempted me to pop in for something to deal with the 'fuzzy' feeling left over from a heavy late night - and the rather daunting prospect of sitting through four foreign films before returning home at 6pm.Well the famed bacon bap worked it's magic for me - and it contained enough meat to satisfy me for weeks to come. Marvellous!

I can't believe I am writing a review based on a bacon sandwich. I have had possibly thousands of bacon sandwiches in my life but the one I had today at this lovely little cafe is the standard by which I will judge all others. Beautiful flowery bap filled with heaps of quality thick crispy grilled bacon. The food served to my fellow diners looked delicious too. Will definitely return.

Visit here for breakfast every time we're in Nottingham, we were introduced to it by our student daughter. Easily the BEST breakfast in the city, Saturday morning we were sat in the sunshine tucking into one of their big breakfasts before heading home. Hockley is a nice part of the city, very BoHo feel about the place.

You would think much to this cafe from looking outside but it was surprisingly busy. A nice little cosy cafe with seating upstairs and down and a wide choice of food from breakfast to dinner. They make delicious jacket potatoes at decent prices. I'd come here again for sure.

We were just passing when we all suddenly felt hungry! We wanted to go to an independent place rather than a chain. It looked quite nice so we walked in. The staff were nice as was the food. We all had sandwiches, The portions were generous and were served with a little side salad. Soya was available for my son's girlfriend. The prices were good. I would come here again.

Pub was too cold. Booked a table on line but no allocated table on arrival. Long wait for food order , without reason. Missing items off meals, no-one came to check if we were okay during meal. Dirty plates left on our table. Asked for dessert early was told abruptly ‘ it’s being processed’ … Half hour wait for said desserts, dirty plates still on table! Pub was not busy. We usually visit The Cadland same company ( unfortunately it was fully booked) , The cadland is how a pub should be run , Hemlock Stone need to visit and learn!

Our afternoon tea was a gift from our daughter. The waitress was lovely and extremely attentive but the afternoon tea itself was very average. A selection of teas but all teabags! Afternoon tea usually consists of a selection of finger sandwiches and then homemade cakes. There were finger sandwiches but the fillings were very bland. There was a minute soggy pastry tart and a soup! The scones were good but very small and these are usually the centre piece of the tea but instead a slate filled with huge cakes was served. The almond tart didn’t taste of almond and the orange muffin was very heavy. Not nice at all. Have had far better.

We had called by a few times previously for a drink and a bite of lunch when it was the Atlas, so we called by again for lunch. The immediate greeting was that there was a 20 minute wait for food (no hello), we went to order at the counter, but were told that the orders were now taken at the table, whilst the waitress came to our table in good time, the wait for the drinks was tedious, so tedious we considered leaving. The place was freezing, the front door was open all the time, everyone was sitting with coats and scarfs, it was like sitting in the garage with the freezer door left open. We saw so many people waiting for food, someone returning their food to the counter, that we decided just to wait for the hot drink (we were going to order food). We saw the tea bag (for one of our drinks) dropped on the floor and then put back on the saucer and served to us (we asked if we could swap it for a tea bag that hadn't been on the floor) - the waitress apologised, but come on this is basic hygiene surely staff should know not to do this? All in all, very, very average and not at all as we remembered when it was Atlas
