The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

Poor food. We both went for a cob with roast meat served with stuffing,roast potatoes and gravy. Badly cooked barely warm and tasteless and massively overpriced at 11 each. Would not recommend

Great staff and good food. Beer is Greene King, which is ok. We were just a bit confused by the food situation to be honest, we may have missed the signs telling you how things worked. There are menus on every table, with table numbers, some said reserved, some didn't. We sat at a none reserved table and started looking at the food menu. A very nice lady asked if we'd reserved, we hadn't, and she said she'd have to ask the kitchen if they could accommodate us. Ok. Luckily they could so I went to order at the bar, but it's actually table service. Which is all great, but the table numbers suggest you go up yourself. So there seemed to be a secret handshake to food, but we could have missed a sign explaining this. In the end the food was ok-good. Seemed like standard pub food to me. Great staff and service, you just may need to reserve to guarantee food.

Decent food & drink, and friendly helpful staff. Delicious hearty Lasagne, very tasty indeed... not sure I needed the side of chunky chips though. An all round enjoyable visit.

Lovely lunch time meal with family

Stopped here out of convenience on our way to an event and had a lovely evening, tasty meal and good sleep. Dog enjoyed herself too!

The quality of the food on offer, value for money, and speedy and friendly service make this a destination to keep coming back to. The lunchtime menu is particularly inviting. P

Nice looking, good atmosphere and while we only went there for an afternoon drink, it looked very family friendly with lots of space.
