The best restaurants serving British food in England

The Galley is incredible. The food is quality and the setting is lovely and welcoming. The staff are always amazing!! We’ve visited several times for breakfast and snacks so decided to try the evening menu. We had a fantastic night. The menu is really good and the evening setting is chilled and as good as the daytime. We had the sharer for 2 and 2 sides. It was great quality and plenty for my wife, I and daughter. A great selection of cocktails and the service was excellent. A really special night and we can’t wait to visit again. Thankyou!

Tuvimos una recepción fúnebre familiar en el Tapiz y desde mi primera interacción con Jackson supe que esta era la elección correcta. Él era genuino y comprensivo, y nos guió a través del proceso con gran cuidado y respeto, basado en las circunstancias. El personal en el día era amable y servicial, la comida y las bebidas eran geniales y abundantes. Recomendaría encarecidamente el Tapestry Bar para cualquier ocasión y sin duda volvería de nuevo. We had 2 americano cofees with warm milk that were superb. We were waiting for the bus and it stops right out front. The staff were very kind to us and we could see that they offered an assortment of foods for breakfast and lunch. Also ice cream.

Went in a couple of nights over the weekend, food was nice but had a bit of a wait. The so called manager, what an idiot, i have never seen anyone so rude and arrogant working in the hospitalty industry. He has absolutely no idea what he is doing, if you try to talk to him to explain something is missing from your food he says "its not my problem". We asked if the table was still reserved and were told "you've got eyes the dame as me, look dor yourselves". He has no manners at all, he spoke to some of the staff like they were trash and all he kept saying was "i'm Luke, i'm the manager", and that was pretty much his attitude. On the other hand there was a lovely lady calked Tilly who couldnt do enough for you. Made sure you had everything you needed, dealt with a lady with allergies impeccably making sure they could cater for her. I watched her go around the whole room chatting to people and making sure they were ok and made them feel welcome. This is how hospitality works, unlike "Luke the manager". The other members of staff that caught my attention was Zoe and Georgina, they are both lovely and if it wasnt for Tilly, Zoe and Georgina i would definately have left a bad review. If the owners have any idea what they are doing they would surely get rid of the alleged manager Luke and keep the other 3 staff as they would attract custom and not lose them as Luke will surely do that. I will go back again once back this way and hopefully it will have improved.

Very poor service. Me and my boyfriend came for breakfast, we were greeted at the door by miserable staff. We were sat down at a table without menus and after 10/15 minutes had to ask for some - we were given one to share. It then took 10/15 minutes for someone to come and ask us for our order. When the food came, it was missing one of the ingredients, we hadn’t been told or asked if we’d like an alternative. I complained about this when paying and no one seemed to be bothered, very young staff with what appeared to be very little training. The food we did have was mainly lovely apart from the black pudding was undercooked. Very disappointing as we have been here before and loved it. We won’t be returning.

First time here in many years. Looks a lot more welcoming inside than it did before. Food prices are very cheap but the quality is high. Sunday roast is limited to pork or beef with Yorkshire Pudding but that's fine and the meat isn't chewy. The interior is due for a full refurbishment in the next month or two so should feel even nicer when it's completed.

Fantastic community pub, with friendly staff. Sunday lunch was great and all freshly prepared to order. Good selection of meats and a variety of vegetables served with the meal. Recommended if you are looking for somewhere for lunch.

Wonderful place to eat.Staff and food really good.Had the lamb for Sunday lunch which was amazing so tasty . Highly recommend.

Went to a party where they cannot turn the heating off🤦‍♂️ Friendly staff but not a huge selection of beers

I love this place. Its relaxed, open and light ambience is perfect for meeting friends and the food is tasty and plentiful. The staff team are warm, friendly and professional and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and valued as a customer. It's the ideal place to go for a snack or light meal in a most attractive setting, surrounded by art.

Absolutely lovely café and staff. Everything made to order and fresh. We had the full English breakfast, my husband the veggie version and it was delicious! Lovely setting too. Would highly recommend

I’ve been to Healds Hall many times over the years for weddings which have always been fantastic, absolutely beautiful location (great for photos) Today I went with family to Afternoon tea with Frank Sinatra, which was amazing, lovely food, great attentive staff (especially Matthew) and the singer was absolutely wonderful! Would highly recommend this place to everyone

Superb food, excellent service, lovely ambience, a wonderful experience. The duck breast was exceptional, as was the chocolate cremeux.

I'm honestly staggered by how good this place is. Come every few months as a half way point for lunch with friends, and for the price the food is exceptional. Lunch the other day was goats cheese souffle and calves liver, and every5hing down the apple salad with the starter was well thought out. There are some amazing gastro pubs around stamford/ oakham way, and this easily rivals them for half the price. The food is always beautifully cooked, the menu changes often and the staff are lovely. 20 quid for two courses (photos attached) and the food is exceptionally good. Can't rate it high enough and bang on about it to everybody I know locally!
