Second visit here and it didn't disappoint! Loved the carrot, celery and apple soup and the egg mayonnaise sandwiches. Such a friendly, cosy cafe.

Wow what a lovely pub with kind friendly staff very welcoming. The foods amazing literally couldn’t ask for anything better we will be back.

Been to this place a few times, sit and takeaway. While I cannot fault the food as it is always tasty and well presented, they do seem to be forgetful. Was in a few weeks ago, got Chicken Goujons and chips with Garlic and Sweet chilli dips to takeaway and a Caramel Rise crispy Square, brought back to the office was delicious and really enjoyed but today they lost their memory. Said to me I couldnt have gotten them there and they do not offer as takeaway. This was only 2 weeks ago so someone has got it wrong. Very disspointing that they did not seem to beleive me and even asked was I sure it was in their establishment. Not good to question a customer like that. Anyhow, did not seem to be getting though to them, all four of them. Order a toastie and a carmel rice crispy square, Toasties lovely, Carmel Rice Crispy Square was not in the bag, just a plain one. It was nice but not a s nice as the others. Lesson, do not agrue with customers, if they say they got something they got it. Pity , as the food is good. Update, still not been back, no reply from the resturant. That means they still believe their own PR. Update 20th Feb 2024, have been back recently and really cannot fault the food, sandwiches , good choices and some lovely tray bakes. Appreciate the chef reply to reviews and explaining the situation. Another wee update, been back in a few times and had no issues. Have to admit the nicest Bakewell Bun ever tried.

Our 2nd visit to Garvock House Hotel after our fabulous visit recently. Again, everything was absolutely perfect, no faults whatsoever, this is a very underatted establishment. Throughly recommend.

Small friendly busy cafe with outside seating. Nice food, Big scones, but doughy and pricey. I wish they didn't close at 2 pm as that's a bit early for my afternoon coffee fix

I had a great breakfast at this café — the bacon, egg, and sausage were all cooked perfectly, full of flavor and served hot. Everything tasted fresh and comforting. Big shoutout to George, who was really friendly and welcoming. He made the experience even better with his kind attitude and good energy. You can tell he genuinely cares about his work and the customers — a real asset to the team! Highly recommend this place for a solid breakfast and great service. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Friendly helpful service, great cards and other nice gifts of better quality than the other gift shop. Would shop here again the next time I visit Combe Martin

What a delightful discovery. A wonderful stopping point if/when touring the borders. We we’re meeting up with family and had a one night stay. Just wished we could have had extended it. Very comfortable room with a modern en-suite. Our family meal in the restaurant was loved by all. Excellent menu for both adults and kids. An extensive menu which was backed up by quality food and presentation. Cosy bar offering cask ales, wines and spirits to suit all. We had without doubt the best breakfast served in any establishment in the country. Again an extensive menu which could give you a different breakfast plate for at least a week. Our hosts were so warm and friendly and run a very well organised establishment. Highly recommend The Allanton Inn. We will certainly return for a much longer stay soon.

Staff are lovely and accommodating. Food is home cooked and the Sunday lunch is amazing!

There are some brilliant local hotels, pubs and restaurants in this part of the Yorkshire Dales and the Wheatsheaf at Carberby is a great example. We organised lunch with family following a circular walk to Aysgarth Falls and Castle Bolton, which started and finished at the hotel car park, so it’s fair to say that we had healthy appetites after a 9 mile hike. The pub part of the hotel is cosy and they offer a good selection of sandwiches in addition to daily specials and much of the main restaurant menu - so something for everyone. Staff were very friendly, the local ales are excellent and prices reasonable. Definitely worth a visit and we’ll be back.

First few times was brilliant. Last time we went the meal was not hot as if it had been standing awhile. Was quite disappointed.

A superb place for breakfast or brunch and they do great café lattes too. The menu includes an all in cooked breakfast and a "boastie" .. quoted as "awesome" using the original meaning of in awe, as in rather scary.
