We went here as a group of 15 people. We had a fixed main course, which was delicious, and a choice of puddings which were also excellent. We were very well looked after, with prompt and attentive service. To be highly recommended.

We were hopeful about having a good and relaxing evening meal at this lovely looking country pub. We asked for a table and the landlady was rude to us and then to our children. We did stay as the kids were hungry but only a few moments after we had sat down, she asked for our order, we asked if we could have another minute to decide and she said ‘no’. Food was good enough although why put salt on salad? The experience was weird and unwelcoming. Won’t be coming back.

The Radnorshire Arms is a superb location that upholds all the best traditions of the very best of country pub's. Friendly service - outstanding, high quality, value for money food, cooked to perfection by a very talented chef of high regard. We ate there once on our holiday and ended up going back 4 times, it was that good. Spotlessly clean inside and out with a lovely peaceful garden packed with colourful flowers. 10/10 for the Radnorshire Arms - pubs and food don't come much better than this - Highly recommended!

What an absolutely outstanding pub! The landlady and all of the staff are some of the most polite and helpful people I have ever met. The Fish & Chips are up there with the best that I have ever had, and my other half raved about the Carbonara. The Brownie was also to die for. The Ludlow Brewery Gold is phenomenal too! Don't let the 'no dogs' policy cloud your judgement, it's lovely to see a place putting people first. We will definitely back.

I can’t really rate this pub on anything apart from its ‘no dogs policy’. I would have thought a pub in the middle of such beautiful countryside would not have been so short sighted as to not allow dogs. We tried to book a table as we’d heard the food was excellent and we were staying locally, I have an Assistance Dog who goes everywhere with me for medical reasons and we were told we could not bring him to the pub. This is the first time we have ever been refused entry to ANY establishment, not just a pub. To be honest this felt very discriminatory.

I just want to start by thanking the owners here for helping us more than they know on Saturday night after we got a punctured tyre we went in and explained what had happened they let us use their landline numerous times to ring rac! Now the food honestly can say was nothing but AMAZING was made with passion the steak I had was perfection with peppercorn sauce 🤌🏼 drinks and service spot on above and beyond!! We had a great time chatting and drinking with locals great people! After waiting for rac and them still not showing up hours after being told they would the landlord told us he would drive us back to where we was staying not many people would be so kind to do so we was so grateful! Rac finally picked us up and drove us back to the car at the pub and the landlord came out to check on us bless him! Please vist here for a meal or drink you won’t be disappointed! Thank you both again Kylie & Tyler

Visited The Radnorshire Arms in Beguildy for Sunday lunch during our holiday in August 2023. We could not get into the pub nearest to our holiday cottage and were sad to see that a number of other pubs in the area have closed/are no longer serving lunch. Found The Radnorshire Arms online and booked based on the positive reviews. It was a 30-minute drive from our accommodation (through some beautiful countryside) and WELL WORTH IT. The roast dinner was lovely and was served with a really good amount of roast potatoes and vegetables, and the best gravy I've had with a pub roast in a long time. The meal was served with gravy on it and came with an extra jug too. Delicious. The child enjoyed the pasta, and pudding was also very good. Summary: Warm welcome, friendly service, lovely food, generous portions, excellent value for money. Would return and would recommend.

An early evening dinner for three of us in the garden of the pub. We all selected the Barnsley cut (local) lamb chops as our main course and, on the Chef's (Martin) recommendation, we shared a large portion of whitebait with garlic mayonnaisse dressing as a starter. The whitebait was crisp, chunky, succulent and delicious. The lamb chops followed and were served with mashed potato, fresh vegetables and minted gravy. The chops were outstanding: large (one per person), tender, tasty without being too strong and perfectly cooked - not too rare and not over cooked. The minted gravy was a a revelation as I'd never encountered it previously; and it was an excellent complement to the chops as the taste of the mint did not overwhelm the taste of the lamb; as it sometimes can do with freshly made mint sauce. Two of us had a the house red wine to accompany the meal while I had an excellent local ale: Ludlow Best. The service was prompt, friendly and eficient. A memorably good meal in a lovely environment.

Amazing food served with a smile. We had our Sunday lunch and opted for a 3 course meal which at £18 is amazing. Our hostess suggested we wait to order our dessert, based on how much space we had left and that was so apt as we landed up sharing a dessert. Arrived after a 15 mile walk at 6.30pm to be told icily by the lady at the bar that we were ‘too late for food.’ A sign outside the pub read ‘open 6pm.’ As we sat down the smell of cooking wafted from the kitchen and a couple on the other table were served dinner. Realising the pub had been open only half an hour, I asked the waitress again, who confirmed without explanation that we were too late. I fail to see how a pub can open a kitchen and employ catering staff for only a half hour window, and therefore have to conclude that we were refused service out of pure malevolence! Forced to walk another 5 miles for our dinner on one of the hottest days of the year we were finally served at a far more friendly pub across the border at 8.30pm. I award them 1 star for having the grace to serve us drinks! - update my experience was obviously the exception as it seems all other reviews are positive- just a shame a few words of explanation weren’t given at the time and I wouldn’t have written this negative review

What a local gem. We enjoyed a fabulous meal here during our first family holiday & first meal out with our baby but it was lovely. A good highchair was provided, there was food offered for him as well had we wanted it. We enjoyed steak & chips and gammon egg & chips. Didn’t realise before coming that Tuesday night had a reduced menu but all mains were £8 which was an added bonus. That said, would happily visit again any day of the week as the food was fabulous. Very attentive waitress served us & the owners were so friendly & made sure they came to say hi to us properly which was lovely. If we hadn’t had a baby with us we would have happily stayed for many lock-ins in this very traditional cosy pub. If you’re in the area it’s a must visit!

Now reopened after a period closed, this is the perfect destination hotel if you’re looking for a quiet weekend away. This part of the Welsh/English border has traditionally been ignored by tourists, who typically want lots of things to “do”. Presteigne is a peaceful country town with some interesting shops, The Judges Lodging - and not much else. So you’re encouraged to wind down and relax, enjoying superb country walking and this excellent old hotel. My room had an ancient beam and panelling which meant the vintage feel was entirely genuine. There was a similar residents lounge nearby for quiet reading and relaxing. The staff were local and very friendly. Breakfast was filling and promptly served. The hotel is not posh, but it is relaxed and comfortable. Highly recommended. Finally, you like cycling or driving along empty roads, friendly locals who are genuinely interested in you, and a break away from 21st Century life then Presteigne is a great place to visit. Most won’t of course - which is fine by me.

This is a great pub! We stopped locally and walked 4 miles through the wonderful countryside for lunch and a pint (well a few) at this establishment. We did book in advance but there were tables available but I’m sure in the height of Summer it’ll be very busy. The menu ranges from the usual main meals, sandwiches, light bites and you can order off the specials board. The welcome in to the pub was second to none and the service was perfect. A nice little beer garden to the side and enough to watch the world go by in peace a quite. We picked the weather well so the borders were in full bloom. So would I return….. Yes! Would I walk another 4 miles……. Yes! If fact I’d walk more. Drop in for a great welcome, food at a reasonable price and a local ale, or a Gin, or a cider if you like but go, it’s a cracker of a pub! 👌🏻

I was standing outside this pub which is situated on a main road following a long walk with 4 young children we got to the pub to find it was closed! whilst my husband went back to our cottage to collect our car due to very tired children! I purchased our children an ice cream from the shop further down whilst we waited and to keep my children safe we crossed over the road to sit in the pub car park on the concrete away from the road as my two year old daughter is very active and I wanted to keep her safe! I knew the pub was closed but the car park was empty and I did not think it would be an issue sitting on the car park floor to keep my children safe whilst we waited away from the road! This resulted in a very rude lady approaching me with her arms raised shouting to get off her property! I apologised and explained my reason for doing this and then we crossed back over the road and sat on the Kurb roadside! She proceeded to ask to move away from her property and to sit outside the shop with my children whom were sitting down eating there ice creams causing no attention! I refused as I was sat on a public road and pathway!I would not be visiting this pub in future and will certainly not be recommending it! Disgusting behaviour! Not child friendly at all!!!!!!!

The Usk & Railway is a must to try if you are in driving distance of Sennybridge, the locals are very friendly, we were in the area for 2 nights and fully expected to eat in 2 different places for evening meal each night, having eaten here on the Friday we returned on the Saturday! The food quality, presentation & taste was excellent, the service was great, all of the meals we ate over the weekend were fabulous, an absolute must to visit and eat!

We visited here, when doing the four waterfalls trail, firstly there are way more than 4 waterfalls. This pub is just perfect after walking for hours, on arrival, the two ladies there were very welcoming. They showed us to a table, took our drinks order and quickly handed them over. We ordered some food from here, it was amazing. If you are visiting the four falls trail, then you don't want to miss this place, you wont be disappointed. Great cosy place, roaring fire, great service, great selection of drinks and totally amazing food. perfect.

Amazing Curry Night! Blown away. Food was fab, service was spectacular. The Bar-man should be famous, he is next level. Don't go here if you hate warm-welcomes and brilliant atmospheres. Will definitely be back asap.

Have tried all the cafés in Hay but keep coming back to this one. In our opinion, it's the best. Haven't put a 🌟 against food because we only had hot chocolate
