Beautiful Sunday lunch, served on a platter so everyone helps themselves. We aren’t usual Sunday lunch fans but this was exceptional. Beef was perfectly rare, lovely Yorkshires and veg selection. Friendly and welcoming staff.

If you are in around llangorse you NEED to pop in! Amazing pub with top landlord and lady! Food is absolutely delicious and generous portions! Always excellent service from the team and nothing is too much trouble!

I have been visiting the Castle Inn for the last 6 years and I have never had a bad meal or experience there. I have been on my own, with my partner and with my friends and family and the welcome is amazing, however you turn up. Mike and Michele are great hosts and have worked hard to establish a pub that is relaxed and unique. The playlists always hit the spot for me too! There's cosy fires in the winter, and deckchairs and outdoor dining in the summer. The Sunday Roast Dinner is the BEST you will have in the area. There's always plenty of meat, veg and potatoes for each diner. I have never been left hungry! The Cauli Cheese which can be ordered as extra and is fab. I have also had the Burgers, Pizzas, Yorkshire Pudding Wraps, Desserts, street food dishes - the list goes on and all have consistently been excellent tasting offerings. The menus vary according to the time of year. The pub does get busy - it's very well supported by local and repeat customers visiting the area. Booking is recommended as it's a small establishment and team and can only cater for so many people each service.

The Sunday roast really is the best and very good value. You get a really good hunk of meat (have the lamb!) and an actual proper Yorkshire pud. Anywhere else is a disappointment by comparison now. Consistently good over the years and I’m always looking for an excuse to book in for a roast. Had several of the normal pub meals too, super burgers and always an interesting, varied menu. Theres always a good bunch of locals there too which makes a nice atmosphere for a drink and the staff are very friendly, local and efficient. Highly recommended and make sure you book early.

Popped in here with my Waterskiing club on Friday, the 23rd of June We all had food in there in the evening, which was delicious and nice and hot as always. Mike Michelle and Jess behind the bar are brilliant at what they do. They are always polite. Extremely friendly and no wonder the pub has been such a roaring success. Can’t believe Mike and Michelle are retiring next year, gutted. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. It’s one of those old school traditional pubs where you can just chill out and relax without all the commercialised nonsense. Thank you very much to Jess, who very kindly let me have a go at pulling my own pints, although I was rubbish at it, it was a lot of fun and respect to you guys for pulling all those pints over the years it’s not as easy as you think. LOL

Can't fault this fab place, the Sunday lunch was truly incredible, ordered chicken expecting couple of slices but was presented with half a bird which was cooked to perfection, obviously they take pride in the food they produce, unlike some, big thanks.

Michelle and Mike own and run the Castle Inn Llangors. They are fantastic hosts who provide an excellent service for the community. They (and their team) are always warm and welcoming and ready to serve up a great selection of food and drinks. We've been to the Castle on many occasions and highly rate it. Should also be noted that there are fantastic vegetarian and vegan options available on the menu. In summary, a fantastic village pub run by lovely people. 10/10 👍🏻

Loved this pub, landlord and staff are what you call a proper landlord, friendly , looked after the customers and always made to feel welcome, lovely log fire. Went in there with our dog whilst staying at Llangorse lake, bank holiday weekend. Will defo go back to visit the pub when down that way again.

What a cracking pub! Our only regret is that we didn't have dinner here earlier in our holiday, so we could come back! I highly recommend the lamb kebabs, absolutely delicious. We also had the dirty onion rings, which were some of the best onion rings I've ever had, perfectly crispy without being greasy. We finished things off with a great sticky toffee pudding. Plus, the beer is fantastic, my husband loves the Butty Bach. All in all, the perfect village pub with great grub and friendly staff, who kindly put up with our puppy getting under their feet! We will be back.

Great family own pub, I strongly recommend their in house made pies. We were camping nearby and we order them two days in a row, don’t regret it. Everyone was super friendly. They have board games and a chimney.

What can I say...... Great food, great owners, amazing staff, beautiful rooms to stay in, super friendly, very clean, and so welcoming. My partner and I stayed here for the weekend as it was my birthday, we also had friends over from London. The rooms are beautifully decorated and had so many things in the rooms and bathroom you know you would forget to bring from home, right down to cotton buds, hand sanitizer, toothbrushes, make-up wipes and so much more. We had a perfect night's sleep, amazing food and the best of company. If there was 20 stars for this place, then we would give it, 5 is just not enough. Toothbrush, and so much more, we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable, the bedrooms are beautifully decorated with such comfortable beds, this place is better than some hotels that we have stayed in and we’ll 100% definitely be going back there, also the scenery around here is beautiful, there’s so much to do and see, and thank you so much to Mike and Michelle for making us feel welcome

We were staying in the village and dropped into the Castle Inn on a cold and wet March evening. What awaited us was a warm welcome a fantastic pint and the best burger outside of New York City. A big shout out for the Landlord...

5 stars doesn’t do full justice, such is how amazing our experience was. My wife and I flew over from the States for a nearby wedding, and the Castle Inn was an absolute delight. The pub is so cozy; a classic country feel with a roaring fire and incredibly friendly locals. Mike and Michelle - the landlords - are some of the nicest people you could ever care to meet. They looked after us so so well, making us feel so welcome and were more than happy to seat 7 people for dinner at short notice on our first night. Their wider team were amazing as well: incredibly kind and attentive and always looking out for you. The food then was brilliant (we heavily recommend the curry and burger offerings) - but our interest was piqued when Mike said that not only do they do a roast on Sundays, but if we wanted the lamb, we’d have to prebook…so we did. And my goodness, what a decision it was. I have legitimately not had a better roast in my entire life (travelled from the States but I’m English!) - beautifully presented and delicious, and I can see why the lamb is a hit! The roast chicken and vegetarian (Brie and Tomato pie) options had by family were also delicious, and the gooseberry and apple crumble for dessert was to die for as well. Have to also shout out one of the the local lagers on tap - 1985 - which was delicious. We stayed upstairs in one of the rooms for - it was incredibly spacious with a very comfortable bed, and a lovely bathroom and small common space as well. The location is beautiful, a short walk from the lake and a short drive from Brecon too. Can’t recommend the place enough, be it for a country getaway weekend, a night in the pub, or a Sunday lunch. A genuine complete package. Thanks again, Mike & Michelle. We will certainly be coming back despite the distance!

Well I can tell you that I am a very fussy, critical diner, simple because I’m a good cook myself. So here it goes for results on our family Xmas dinner for 11 today. This was the best Xmas Dinner I have ever had, the flavours were superb and the gravy was to die for, could not fault anything. Well done chef ❤️❤️❤️

Upgrading my review to 5*. This place is definitely the best around the lake. Absolutely love the donna kebab burger (don't even like a donna). The staff are also super friendly and helpful. Plenty of room for the kids and dog.

Absolutely fantastic all around. We made reservations two nights in a row, as we were staying in Llangorse. From the first moment, the staff was beyond exceptional. Their friendly, caring attitudes made us feel like locals and truly cared for. My two boys, 4 and 6, are not always the easiest and never once did we feel out of place! The tap selection was also very nice, with many Welsh beers available as well as honest recommendations from the gals! Over both nights we had both curries on the menu, numerous pies and desserts. All of it was just perfect! Delicious flavor, generous servings and again, a fantastic staff willing to split entrees without hesitation. The kid’s menu was solid and my boys devoured the Chicken Goujons. The sticky toffee pudding was a hit, as my wife had it two nights in a row and will probably harass me until I bring her back again tomorrow. Love this place! Love the staff! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!!!!!!
