We had a tipsy afternoon tea at Christmas time which was amazing, so we returned shortly after for another afternoon tea which was also delicious. We have one of our group requiring 'gluten free' and one is 'dairy free' which were produced with no issues, we were never led to believe it was any trouble. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the newly refurbished bar area is lovely. Highly recommend 👌

Hidden gem! Visited on 1st January for a family walk with the dogs. Even though the weather wasn’t great they was open to serve up warm food and drinks for us to tuck into. Ordered 6 meals in total service was great and food was even better! All our family said how amazing quality and taste the food was and that they would love to go back again. Car park right behind the shack which is ideal for anyone to pick up and go or as we did sit in the car and watch over at the beach also a lovely walking area if you do have a a dog . Portions are are great too Highly recommend

Although the menu was limited due to an exceptionally busy weekend the food was delicious and the staff were amazing and attentive. Also a great atmosphere with live music .

Good large space with plenty of room at the bar. PLenty of chpice on the keg taps. Went here as part of Worcester Music Festival (they were acting as one of the venues) so visited several times over the weekend. Good atmosphere.

12th January was my wife's birthday, so I searched out somewhere I thought might be "special", using Tripadvisor reviews. Cairn Lodge seemed the place, but turned out to be something different from all the glowing reviews. But let me be fair. There were some good points. The ambience of the Garden Restaurant was very pleasant, and the staff were very attentive. But the food has a serious problem. We decided on 2 courses and 3 of us chose the belly pork. We all knew that belly potk is usually slow roasted and comes with crisp crackling and soft, tender, melt in your mouth meat. We were sadly disappointed. My wife had one mouthful and left the rest of the pork. Instead of meeting our expectations, the belly pork servings more closely answered the descriptions of Scotland's number 1 catering wholesaler, Brakes, who in their online belly pork advert to the trade, say, "Once reheated by either boiling or microwaving in the bag from frozen, remove and finish under the grill to brown the top as desired and serve..." The pork showed no sign of being roasted and then sliced on site. All the pieces were identical, suggesting factory production. All were equally tough. The pieces of carrot and parsnip , and the roast potatoes, were tasty enough, but the near incinerated Yorkshire puddings needed to have been "reheated" for several minutes less. Presumably they came from the same stable as the pork. Around the dining room, everyone seemed to have the same bought-in offerings, all treated in the same way. I have several observations. We are all used to this sort of food in the cheap fast-food places attached to Travelodges and the like, but Cairn Lodge presents itself as some special. Instead, you offer second-rate food at inflated prices. The meal for 4, with no wine, cost just under £160. I feel there is a certain dishonesty in what you are offering. Over-priced and second rate. Secondly, I am very disappointed that you have apparently weaned your clientele on to this standard of food, and they actually believe it is a good standard.. I come from a background as a writer for one of the major travel companies, and I can tell you that your food is not of the quality customers are led to believe. It is second-rate, and does not belong to an hotel which promotes itself as giving quality. Clearly we will not be back.

We used to visit this cafe on a very regular basis, but due to difficult family circumstances, this was our first opportunity to return in 9 months. We were welcomed with open arms by the owner (Karen) and by the waitresses (Yvonne, Pip and Maisie), who all said how much they'd missed us, and how lovely it was to see us again. Pip and Yvonne both remembered our usual order (particularly impressive, as I have a restricted diet and have to slightly alter a dish on the menu). The food is top-quality, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious. In these days where the impersonal machine is king, it is lovely to visit an establishment where you receive top-notch personal service, and where you are made to feel like a friend rather than merely a customer. I truly cannot recommend Williams & Thomas highly enough - it is the best tearoom in Kent.

This is a traditional, independantly owned cafe which was welcoming and unpretentious. The menu was mainly fried food but my husband had a breakfast and my friend and I had a greek burger. It was all piping hot, good quality ingredients and a thoroughly enjoyable occasion. Reasonably priced and would ceratinly go again.

Full vegan, Gluten free menu and dairy free cakes, what not to like? As someone who isn’t vegan but dairy and egg intolerant, this is such a great wee cafe that I wish I’d found sooner. I really do hope the community continue to support this local business.

The Bothy Tea Room were an unexpected but pleasant surprise. Situated at the Colby Woodland Gardens, what set the tearooms apart from typical cafés at National Trust grounds was the array of loose leaf teas on the menu. There were some delightful-sounding herbal brews, of which we only time to try one, in addition to their black tea house blend. All teas and cakes were served in bone china, which made the tea-drinking experience truly decadent. There was a good freshly-baked cake selection too, which perfectly complemented their teas. For a tea and cake-focussed room, they had some surprisingly inventive bread rolls and baguettes, too. Service was polite and helpful, and the staff managed well during the busy time we visited. Located at the Colby Woodland Gardens, the location was perfect for lunch during the middle or at the end of a walk. It does become very busy during the middle of the day, though. There is a little indoor seating, with many more benches outside. We were delighted to have lunch and tea here, and would fully recommend it!

Our daughter has been raving about the salad boxes and scotch eggs, I finally made it today. Had a bit of everything in the large salad box, certainly full of flavour, bombay scotch egg packs a real punch too. Can't wait to go back and sample the quiches.
