We come here regularly and always have good service but recently had my 40th here and Si and the team were fantastic! So responsive, helpful and friendly. Whole evening was exactly what I wanted, and my guests commented on the food and service. Also very accommodating of dietary requirements too. Would definitely have another event here! Thanks all 😊

Almost missed it from the outside on a dark evening but glad we stopped by. Friendly staff and delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere.

We have been using this cafe for years but sadly it really appears to have gone downhill. The lunch menu was very limited and what the options we chose were bland and basic. The coffee was full of bitter black bits making it almost impossible to drink. This was queried with the male staff member who just said that’s how we make it… Sadly we’ll have to go a little further afield in future

Just been to try the new menu and the beer of course. Excellent service, food and beer brilliant, this is a little gem in the heart of Poppleton.

Had the best cappuccino here today. Met the owners Sam and Louise too, such a friendly and down to earth couple. Will definitely try some of their delicious looking home cooking next time!

Unbelievable service for our wedding night do at the Poppleton centre last weekend, couldn't have asked for better - great range of beers and people still talking about those pizzas! Big shout out to Simon for making it all happen, communicating with us from start to finish, working with us on timings to suit our day and helping with a variety of dietary requirements! Would highly recommend to anyone for functions or just for calling in for pizzas and a few drinks! Matt and Jess xx

I had a small problem which Sam the owner dealt with as soon as he found out.

Nice cafe, not too busy, really good coffee, cake and sandwiches.

I really wanted to like it. The breakfast bap was £6.45, it came in one of those cheap bread buns with absolutely no substance to it whatsoever, just air, and they had spread cheap margarine on it instead of real butter. There was only one sausage sliced in half, one slice of bacon and a small egg inside for £6.45! Crazy. Sadly won't be returning.

What a fantastic surprises. We were on a short break and were told that the social club was a great alternative local place to eat. Pizza is the only option but they are better than most of the multi nationals. There is a bar too serving a variety of beers. The staff were very engaging and made our visit very enjoyable. If your looking for fine dinning this will not be for you. If you want great food with a relaxed atmosphere this is the place to go.

What a great place to hang on a Saturday night visit to family in UP. Great Pizza. Great beer. Lovely staff. Matey who runs the place is so friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere, Kid friendly, cool family friendly local venue. Can't wait to revisit.

Love this friendly little spot - the decor, food & coffee are superb. Latest visit outdoors to social distance, bundled up in our coats & hats & we were looked after brilliantly despite being outside. Attentive service & as always made to feel welcome. Not to mention the perfect panini's! Merry Christmas to you all.

A convenient and very friendly establishment. Pizza and a pint well done in the evening (we even have our own versions named after us now) and light bites during the day.

Really nice looking place, had takeaway pizza (you will need a pizza cutter or knife and fork) it tasted amazing with a unique tomato base taste, really thin base and nice amount of toppings, best none sourdough pizza I’ve had

Love the takeaway pizza and baked cupcakes & brownies from here. Lovely seating areas which are nicely decorated.

Fantastic place to go, great coffee, amazing cakes and fantastic food. We're big fans of the pizzas on an evening too, and there's always a nice beer or two to be had from behind the bar. We could stay all day. Kids playground just outside too, so perfect place to take young kids.

Absolutely lovely. Interior is modern and beautifully designed with lots of plants. The baked goods are absolutely delicious - I especially recommend the lemon crumble, but all of them are fantastic! Top quality coffee I especially love the hazelnut latte. Really friendly staff and an uplifting place.

Busy little cafe with sandwiches and drinks. Lovely play park for the kids. Outdoor bowling green and tennis courts. Lots of indoor stuff going on too.

Great place for a quick bite. We had two amazing pizzas and nice beers. Lovely atmosphere, great staff. A few drawbacks: slightly overpriced beers (the pizzas were definitely worth the money), far from York city centre and short opening times. Once you know them and work around, nothing to complain about :-) !

Popped in after searching for nearest cafe location whilst driving near York on a weekend break. What a find!! Excellent service, marvellous food, brilliant cakes, lovely decaff coffee. The ciabatta was the size of the plate with a healthy full filling, which was full of flavour. The staff were very helpful, despite all the Covid nonsense. Would highly recommend to anyone anywhere near Poppleton.

Fantastic stone baked pizzas, a great choice of beers, wines and gins all at reasonable prices, nothing is ever a problem to the superb team that run it, and always a warm welcome.

Excellent locally sourced cafe food, superb handmade pizza, beer and some of the best coffee in York (Red Brick coffee and La marzocco machine). Pleasant spacious with friendly staff led by owners Sam and Louise.

I have been here 3 times now and it is amazing. Today I went in on my own with my 4 month old and the woman working saw me struggling to get sorted and offered to hold my baby for me. The time before that a staff member offered to bring me some water whilst I was feeding and they have been overwhelming supportive whilst breastfeeding there. On top of that the food is delicious! Fantastic place

We have visited this lovely cafe several times, when visiting our children in York. The service is friendly, and they sometimes have gluten free eats. Light and airy decor.

Cosy, friendly and good food in generous proportions, what more could you want? A relaxed atmosphere with views across the tennis courts - a perfect place for a relaxed afternoon tea.

People of Poppleton (and surrounding area), come and enjoy this local cafe. Didn't exist when I grew up on the village and people worked hard to make it happen. Comfortable, warm, good food and drinks and a place to meet people you know and don't know. Easy to get my powered wheelchair in and out of, and level access to the door. These community venues are so important; give it a go.

This cafe is just amazing. Opened in April of this year it has gone from strength to strength with a thriving customer following. Sue make the most amazing cakes which are impossible to to resist. In addition she serves a wide range of light lunch dishes and a good selection of drinks including herbal teas of every flavour you can imagine. Her staff are cheerful and very efficient and the prices are extremely competitive
