This is a regular for my friend and is well known to the owners. We started off with ham hock soup full of flavour and delightful taste of ham hock. To follow I had a cheese and onion toastie. To accompany the meal I had a large hot chocolate. We would recommend this establishment to anyone and will definitely come back.

First time to visit the cafe after hearing good things about it. On first impression wasn’t too impressed with decor etc but cakes looked lovely. The guy was nice and friendly but the lady behind the counter was bordering on rude . Food was delicious but expensive. Unfortunately didn’t like it enough to return in the future.

Disgusted by the service received from this astablishment! My sister who has only just turned 17 and began her training for her first job locally, went into purchase a piece of cake on her lunch break. Upon purchasing the cake she discovered there was A DEAD SPIDER!!! Stuck to the bottom of the cake. She immediately made the workers aware of this and they offered her another piece. Understandably being grossed out, thats the last thing she wants from them, not knowing if the rest of the batch is contaminated. For health and hygiene purposes it should have been thrown out! So she requested a refund. The cake cost her £6 but dispite her being served it along side a dead spider they only returned £5 of her money? Poor girls nearly eaten a dead spider and they're not even offering a full refund! I find this disgusting taking advantage of a young girl without the confidence to speak up for herself!!!

This is the first time I’ve been to this place, and it was excellent. It was fairly busy but we got a table ok, and the seats were comfortable. You order and pay for your food at the counter. The place was clean, and our food was brought out in around 10 or so minutes. Friend and I both had the same - a big, bowl of tasty and hot lentil soup, and a panini (or suchlike) with cheese and onion with a little salad - delicious. I’d certainly recommend this place. I should add, the staff were friendly.

This place has changed so much since the guy left the prices are high the bread you get for sandwiches is so thin compared to the lovely seeded bread they had before dont understand how they change stuff we love the soup and the lovely bread you used to get now it’s like half a bowl a thin slice of bread and you leave hungry still hot chocolate the same price as Costa which isn’t that good place needs a revamp for the prices they are charging we have been coming here for years but won’t be back again stuff just not interested you are just another customer sad how it’s changed.

I went to the tea house after reading all the great reviews, what a disappointment! The cafe is a bit shabby looking. The staff also were very casual looking, wearing old worn looking joggers and old apron, looked like something I would wear to clean out a cupboard! Didn't inspire! The food was okay, but nothing great. We had two panini's and a couple of soft drinks and were charged nearly £18, which I thought even in today's current situation was well over priced. Won't be back. Much nicer looking cafes in the area that don't charge these prices. Not worth the money.

Having arrived in plenty time for a funeral at Kirkcaldy Crematorium on Friday 29th April - a good friend from our art college days in the mid 1950s - I popped in for a cup of tea. Actually, I had a bottle of iced fizz in the car, but I like to support small businesses. As I knew I'd be eating later, a slice of bakewell tart was purchased to take home to Dundee. Consumed on Sunday evening, it was like no other bakewell tart I've ever tasted - absolutely BRILLIANT. With very pleasant service from the two ladies, I would happily return were it not so far to travel.

We dropped on for lunch yesterday. It was my first visit and what a great cafe this is. We had soup, I had a pastrami sandwich and to top it all the best tea I have had in any Scottish cafe. One of my pet peeves is the rubbish served as tea in most cafes and restaurants so this cafe was a revelation. I recommend this cafe without reserve, especially if you like good tea.

We went here for breakfast having read reviews and the decaffeinated coffee was yum there wasn’t much choice for breakfast and as we don’t do cook breakfasts often hubby wanted a full English which they don’t do it’s bacon egg only with add on of one slice of black pudding which hubby took. The toast with the meal was really lovely but the bacon and egg was just ok nothing special. Hubby said the black pudding was very greasy and he left some of it. She asked do u want sauces hubby said ketchup but she never came back he had to go back and ask for it and no sorry was offer or even oh dear I forgot just handed to him. I would go back for drinks and maybe try some lunch again limited menu but it’s not a good choice for breakfast.

This wee treasure is tucked away in a corner unit of a business park so unless you know exactly where to go it would be difficult find. That said the place was really busy so they obviously dont need to advertise their location. Nice friendly ambiance with plenty tables, spotlessly clean & a fab menu. Both Hubby & I had a pannini which was delish & served with a little side salad. They had specials on offer & the soup & sandwich deal looked to be very popular. An amazing choice of tea's if you fancy something a bit different for a change. Having to do long term visiting at the local Hospital we were sick of the fast food places in the area so were delighted to hear about this little place. All in all we were very impressed by 'The tea house' & will certainly be returning.

Whilst not exactly regular visitors, we have been here many times before and have left excellent reviews. Today OH opted for lentil and ham soup, which was very good he said. I saw beetroot soup on the menu and ,never having had it before, I asked the server what it was like. She didn't know so I decided to take a chance. I'm sure it was really good beetroot soup like all the others I have had here but I took one spoonful and realised I had made a mistake because I really didn't like it. We told the server and she said there was nothing she could do. I wasn't expecting a completely new lunch but a little compromise would have been appreciated - just a little bit of cheese for my bread for example - but she really didn't care. So, £11 for one bowl of soup was an expensive lunch today. Such a shame but we won't be coming here again.

I had a coffee there while my wife was having a massage in another part of the building. The staff were cheery and helpful, and a variety of food was on offer. Lunches sounded quite appetising, but it was only 9.30 in the morning! It got quite busy as I left an hour later, and it is clearly used by staff for takeaways from other places in the business unit, as they came through an adjoining door next to the counter. I would definitely try it again for lunch if in the area.

Previously thought this a wee gem. Unfortunately on my last visit the waitress slapped the cups and saucers cake etc on the counter without a tray. After a couple of trips to the table with all the bits I was enjoying my tea and cake. The waitress emerged from the back kitchen wiped her face and blew her nose with a tea towel and then wiped the counter with the tea towel. When the owner guy came over to ask if all was ok I quietly explained what I’d seen. He seemed unconcerned. We won’t be back.

Visited here today for lunch with my daughter after finding it listed on TripAdvisor. It is a place you could so easily never find, or never know about, as it is well off the beaten track, and located within the John Smith Business Park in Kirkcaldy. However, once found it is a place people will return to, as it was a busy little café today with customers sitting in, and takeaways.I opted for the special which consisted of soup and a sandwich, whilst my daughter just opted for the soup. We both had the smoked ham hock and lentil soup and without a word of a lie it was the tastiest soup I've had in a long time. Furthermore, it was a decent sized bowl of soup, not like some establishments where the soup barely covers the bottom of the plate! I chose an egg mayonnaise and bacon sandwich to go with the soup and it came with salad too, again tasty, and you felt like you had eaten a decent sized lunch.Service was polite and friendly.Worth seeking out and paying a visit, I don't think you will be disappointed, we certainly weren't.

I had to call in here because the missus accidentally left her folder in here when she was on her way to a meeting. They didn't have a published phone number so I had to drive all the way from Dunfermline to Kirkcaldy to pick it up. As you can imagine having to take time out of building my own business to do this was not going to put me in a good mood. When I arrived at the coffee shop I thought I'd have a coffee on a bite to eat, transpires that they didn't accept cards at the time, so I had to go get money from around the corner. Not a good start so far. :-(But when I tried the food all was forgiven, I had a panini and a soup, cream of mushroom and maderia with a chicken, mozzarella and red pesto panini. OMG! The soup was to kill for, not die for because one would never be able to have the soup again. The panini was really nice as well. The best news is that it was under £7. Get your butts down there!

Well, where do you start? My husband and I love the Teahouse dearly. We are very lucky in that it's near where we live so we visit frequently. For a tea lover (me), it has everything you could wish for including teas which are rare and hard to source. Tea is served in the cutest glass pots which change depending on the tea ordered. For a coffee lover (my better half), it is a firm favourite with specials giving an extra dimension to his enjoyment of it. The coffee and tea specials are frequently updated so that gives customers variety and the chance to try something new which they may not have thought of.The soup, sandwiches and cakes are always fresh and fantastic. They are priced reasonably too especially with the combo deals and 'free cake Friday'! All in all, this place ticks all the boxes for breakfast, lunch or coffee (tea for me) and cake...Well done everyone at the Teahouse!

Recommended by a friend and hidden away in the business park. Outstanding fresh food. Recommend the home made ham hough soup and fresh sandwiches. Great place for lunch in Kirkcaldy. Can get quite busy around 12-00 so better to get in early.

Been many times and have never been disappointed. Lovely atmosphere and fantastic food! All homemade - soups, sandwiches and cakes! You really taste the difference between these and overpriced Costa cakes from frozen. Huge selection of lovely and refreshing teas! Just can't get enough. Very reasonably priced, but do not accept cards so take cash with you.

Excellent home made food and THE best tea and coffee selection you will find in many, many miles. We are regulars in Edinburgh, but this cafe offers better drinks and home-made food than any we've searched out in/around the city. The owner is an approachable expert on his tea/coffee/food and he and his team always offer a friendly and helpful service. The actual cafe building isn't the cutest sort, but it makes sense to be where it is due to the growing business park around it - and it makes for easy, plentiful parking.

Hadn't been here since it first opened and boy, what a change. We had 2 young children with us and clean high chairs were provided. Quirky touches, vintage china teacups (which I adore), huge selection of homemade cakes, sandwiches and soup, free top ups, excellent service - I really cant say enough about this hidden little treasure. Prices are more than reasonable - you pay less than half what it would cost you in garden centre - except you get large hunks of tasty bread, generous fillings and there is a great, homely atmosphere. This will now be my favourite place to go. Considering there was only one very friendly girl serving and making drinks and a guy taking care of the cooking - everyone was served in a timely manner and not once did I see either of them flustered although it was very busy. Super efficient does not cover it. Although some people have said its not an ideal location, I think it's perfect - away from the madness of trying to get parked and you are not worrying about your ticket running out. We had a great afternoon and it is an exceptional child friendly place.

Excellent quality tea with limitless top-ups - perfect. Coffee - perfect. And amiable owner keeps smiling and has a word for everyone even when rushed off his feet. Truly deserves lots of praise.

Have been going here now for over a year and cannot fault it. Have tried various other coffee shops but none can compare. The best coffee the best sandwiches in fact the best everything - only complaint is its getting rather busy at weekends but this only adds to the atmosphere, as more and more people discover that the only place to go for great quality food and the best coffee anywhere is Ryan's little Tea House. Oh yeah and one other thing - wish it was open on a Sunday :-( :-( Just don't like having to go some where else as there ain't no comparison. Maybe one day...........:-) :-)

Excellent little hidden treasure. Don't know it? FIND IT, I'm sure you will adore it too. Fresh food & cakes all made by the owner. The sandwich & soup combo is enough to fill me the whole day and only around £5. 2 thick slices of hand sliced whole meal bread filled full of roast beef, Dijon mustard and lettuce is my personal favourite, paired with a deep bowl of lentil and ham hock soup. When I'm peckish this is the kind of eats I dream about, seriously. The many varieties of tea come in cute glass teapots which are refilled as many times as the leaves will allow (3 times last visit) and the tea is drunk from vintage china cups & saucers which feel much more special for an afternoon cuppa. The scones are usually still warm and served with butter, jam & cream for no added cost.

We have been here a few times and we have always received friendly service, and a delicious lunch. This place is not in an ideal location and the decor is a bit shabby chic but if you know this and are looking for a nice local independent cafe for a light lunch, or cuppa and cake then it doesn't get much better than here. The soup and sandwich deal is a bargain and I would definitely recommend.

This little gem is now my go to coffee shop as they easily serve the best coffee and tea in town. Service is always friendly and the freshly prepared cakes are delicious. There's a big variety of teas and coffee and I always find myself recommending the tea house to friends and family. Definitely try the homemade mushroom soup if you get a chance! 10/10

Ive been to this cafe many times now and every occasion the food is fresh and teas are special. All the sandwiches, cakes, soups, salads, are all made in house. The scones are the best I've EVER tasted. The owner (Ryan) has a nice friendly rap pour with the customers. Its an unusual location for a cafe to be however the cafe has attracted the foodies... Always look forward to a visit with my wife and kids.

Visited for the first time today. Lovely place to sit in for lunch. We had the 'special' coffee which tasted great. Paninis and soups were tasty and prices good value. Place seems to be kept going - almost every table was taken at about 1.30pm. Kirkcaldy definitely lacks decent, independent cafes. This is one worth supporting.

Been twice to this cafe and very impressed both times. Very quiet, as on a small business park, 2 miles from town. The man who owns and runs the cafe is very pleasant and does his own baking. The first time, we had scones, which were wonderful. The second time, there were no scones left, but the baking we had was also good. The lunch offerings sound tasty, and good value.

A bit of the beaten track but worth it. If this café was in the city centre, it would be packed out every day! We enjoyed lovely, freshly made sandwiches in a cosy atmosphere and took some delicious cakes home. I hadn’t been for a while but it’s every bit as nice as I remember, we’ll definitely be back.

We didn't stay but went for lunch one Sunday. We booked but several groups turned up without booking and were able to get a table. The menu is the usual pub grub but nicely presented and service was quick. Ae chose the roast beef, meatball and curry with icecream and coffee to follow. All very tasty The welcome and service were frienly and efficient and the dining room light airy and spacious.

What a disappointment. I found the Bothy at Boglily on TA, loved the look of the place, the gorgeous photos of cooked food on their site and the good reviews. We are doing a road trip and this was going to be our Sunday morning treat. The car park was jammed with cars and we saw people standing in a queue to pet baby goats. Upon entering the inviting Bothy and asking a young man for a table, we were told that we couldn’t bring our dog in. Fair enough. Not every dining establishment is dog-friendly. Though I was a bit surprised as the restaurant is in a buffalo farm, there’s a petting zoo and it’s in the countryside. The sun was shining so I asked if we could order our meal and sit at the table on the deck, directly next to the door of The Bothy (see photo for proximity). The young man’s response was that they don’t offer takeaway. I queried whether a table one step from the door qualified as takeaway. It reminded me of the TV ad with the man trying to buy potatoes at a farm shop and being told that he can only pay with digital currency. People taking themselves so seriously that they don’t think of the customer experience. We had driven up from our holiday cottage at Kinghorn especially to get a nice cooked breakfast from their lovely menu, so my surprise and disappointment were apparent. I was directed to the outdoor kiosk they call the Milk Bar to order something from their limited selection. We ordered one Double Cheese Toastie with fries, a latte, an affogato milkshake ( made with buffalo milk ice cream) and a scone, which was on their menu. The two lovely servers told me that they don’t sell scones outside and I would have to go to the Bothy Café to get one. When I explained that I had been told up there that I couldn’t get anything from them takeaway, the young woman offered to go get one for me. They were both very sweet and I apologised for my previous grumpiness. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth the trouble. The cheese toastie and fries were served in a cardboard tray. The toastie was on “cheap white bread” according to my partner. I didn’t taste it. The fries and the milkshake however, were excellent. My scone was dry, cold and crumbled into breadcrumb texture when I tried to spread some butter on it. The crumb was impossible to pick up and eat but my dog liked it. It wasn’t worth eating for me as it then began to rain and we had to head for the car. I can’t help but think that the very cheerful, welcoming and upmarket website promises more than it delivers.
