A return visit to and not disappointed Wonderful cooking and presentation throughout One of the best restaurant’s in Scotland Cheese soufflé is the star of the show and if it was removed from the menu there would be a petition to have it reinstated

Great service in attractive modern restaurant in a lovely location facing this pretty little harbour. The food is very good by any measure. Nicely served. However all that is available is a multi course menu with no choice except for the main course. Not only that, but there is no price displayed, ok we could/should have asked, but we all thought this was rather cheeky. The wine list is priced and we thought expensive. With 10% tip, only a glass of wine each and its £100 per head. I am not unhappy with this but a slightly wider choice, an alternative to the tasting menu, and price on the menu, would get me to return.

Delicious lunch today (15:9/24)) with good friends . Food as per usual was outstanding and matching wines were very well matched. Thank you once again all at Craig Millar , thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Sorry we couldn’t find a wine to bring along that matched Craig’s age 😂😂

Lovely spot overlooking the harbour. Lovely menu and good, tasty food. We were there with our two boys (10 and 12) and we all enjoyed the food and the ambience.

Absolutely exquisite from beginning to end. The service was impeccable, we felt like the only diners, even with it being busy, the food was mouth-wateringly divine, and the views were spectacular, we had a beautiful table overlooking the harbour. One server in particular was very attentive, knowledgeable and his presence and demeanour elevated the evening, I wish I remembered his name but I think he may have been in managing the bar or sommelier. If I were to be really picky, some atmospheric background music would have topped off the evening, however, this did not hinder our experience in the slightest. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful evening.

Our wedding anniversary (43rd don't tell anyone). Soooo good. Service first class, food to die for, so relaxing and we got a sea view seat. How lucky were we? We will return to spoil ourselves.

We had an outstanding dining experience last night. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu with matched wines, and it was awesome. The food was delicious as were the wines, the team looked after us extremely well with exceptional attention to detail, even wishing Dawn a happy birthday for today. This year is my wife's 50th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary. And I was Best Man for my Best Man. So a lot of fine dining has been done. I have to say this we just the best, the best, the best of them all! Amazing service, incredible view of the golden sunset on the harbour, couldn't fault the food or the wine selection, lovely people at the bar for afters, somewhere I visit every year and will keep coming back.

The food was delicious and the service was great, it was very quiet so not much atmosphere but would definitely recommend.

Service was great as was food. Panna cotta best I've ever had - creamy with icy bits and gooey stuff all in one! Outstanding! Only slight criticism (and I totally understand this is down to personal taste) was that the cheese souffle sauce was very strong/salty. Souffle itself was amazing and could've eaten it without the sauce or just a drizzle. Great views. Wine and beer really nice! Good stuff!

This must be one of the best restaurants in Scotland! This is our 5th visit and the food has always been absolutely superb. This visit was no exception. Please see photos. In addition the view from the restaurant out to sea is wonderful. The atmosphere is calm, relaxing, welcoming and very professional.

Another superb evening at this wonderful restaurant. Food as always was great and the staff were so pleasant and attentive. The view from this restaurant is hard to beat. To top it all off I left my phone on the table when leaving and a member of staff jumped in her car and tracked us down on our way home and handed the phone over to me. So very much appreciated. Nice dining experience. Helpful and friendly staff. I don't eat a lot but was glad after a 4 course meal at £50 + to find an ice cream shop to top up my calories at Giddy Gannet. Shame really staff told me that halibut was a small proportion because it was expensive. Well yes, at £50 per head. Best head to Tailend in St Andrews for a taste of halibut. Sorry but the portion of fish was MEAN. I did say to staff but NO answer from kitchen. Shame really but view towards Bass Rock was nice.

Fantastic meals with great views. Lovely knowledgeable staff We just love coming back whenever visiting Fife. Loved being able to relax and enjoy our post lunch coffees on the terrace with blankets provided to keep our legs warm.

Beautiful seafood, beautiful setting. Lovely restaurant tucked away in the seaside village of st. Monans I had the salmon and then hake with tarragon yum yum say no more. Chef came out to say hi lovely chap. People Should support this small Independant for sure!

Food delicious. Service very pleasant. Restaurant wasn't particularly busy but that could have been the time of year (January 2024) which affected the overall atmosphere. The music playing would stop for adverts - this really lessened the overall experience and should be reviewed. Duck dish, cheese soufflé and bramble parfait were a highlight. Would return if I was in the local area again.

A wonderful lunch - cozy surroundings watching Storm Agnes starting to get angry as the sea was breaking over the harbour walls! The food was sublime. The service excellent. The atmosphere relaxed. The restaurant is a hidden gem and shouldn't be overlooked if you are visiting the East Neuk of Fife.

Some of the best food we've had in a long time. We booked for lunch having just arrived on the sleeper from London to Edinburgh. We had the three course option - every one was delicious, full of flavour and exquisitely presented. We had sea trout, beetroot mousse, ox cheek and halibut. We didn't have dessert but I'm certain that would have been just as good. The location is fabulous and we had a table by the window looking out over the water. Perfect. (A minor point - in such a lovely, quiet location with just the sound of the seabirds, we didn't think the piped music was necessary, and in fact was a bit of a distraction). Friendly, warm and efficient service.

We had a fantastic meal on Saturday 29th July and all of the front of house staff gave great service. Everything was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Portion sizes were just right for a 6 course menu. We couldn't decide whether the soufflé or the peanut dessert were our favourite course. Some mocktails would be a nice addition to the menu, not a complaint, as the range of soft drinks was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We will definitely return.

We had an absolutely sensational evening. We opted for the wine pairing and this made the dining experience so much better. Our table had an outstanding view and the food was absolutely delicious and so well presented and then having the paired wines with a description of the wine and how it would compliment our course was amazing. Staff were polite, knowledgeable and friendly. This was a special treat and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment

A family member invited us to dine with them here on a Friday night. I had eaten here previously several years ago. We all had the set menu. Quite outstanding. The halibut was phenomenal, perfectly cooked and very delicately seasoned. The cheese soufle was wonderful, light and fluffy. The cheese board was excellent and the desert I chose was the chocolate torte with ice-cream. Again very good. The service was outstanding as i had remembered the last time. It was pleasantly busy and we were seated ina room with a dramatic view of the ocean. Highly recommended.

Stunning setting on the coast with beautiful views as you dine. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff, and very well looked after decor with comfortable dining chairs. The food is first class, and extremely reasonably priced for a tasting menu. Would happily return when we visit the East Neuk area again.

What a wonderful place to eat. The food is exceptional and the service excellent and low key. The whole ambiance of the establishment is wonderful. Worthwhile a detour if you are in the area enjoying a coastal walk or playing golf. I would recommend to any one. There are no vegan options is the only drawback to the place

Really good staff and service. Went for lunch with my wife. All the food was very, very good. The wine list was superb. The braised beef cheek was remarkable. Only one recommendation - get a nice draught beer on tap please. Great views over St Monans harbour.

Well if you are looking for somewhere very special to go you should visit Craig Millar. The food is out of this world. 3 of us all opted for the salmon starter, cheese souffle to follow, then cod as main. Clean plates all round. The lunch is a set price for 2 or 3 courses. Worth every penny, and the view is spectacular

Set menu with fresh ingredients. Unfortunately the menu was taken away so we weren't always sure what we were eating; when we asked one of the waitresses what one ingredient was, she wasn't sure which is unusual for a Michelin restaurant. Great views and delicious cocktails.

A true gem - located right on the shore with amazing views and outdoor space it is probably one of the best restaurants in Scotland. Ambience is very relaxing; genuine top quality cooking, great wine selection as well.

Beautiful lunch in an amazing setting. We were lucky to have a table with such a great view. Relaxed but nice service and a lovely wine list. Was a slight struggle to get someone to let us pay at the end, felt a bit neglected- not annoying enough to take a star off but almost.

We had a great wedding breakfast with our Scottish-based family. They seated us with a panoramic harbour view and we had a fabulous time.

Definitely not a tasting menu as there was no choice given for dinner except from halibut or beef. There was no vegetables or carbs with the main dishes. Very disappointing and would not be returning. The staff where also slow and not helpful when we asked about the menu. Very poor. I have had many tasting menus at TOP restaurants, Tom kitchin, Martin wishart, 21212,Andrew fairlies. Yours however is not a tasting menu. False advertisement here.

Outstanding restaurant in the heart of St Monans Fife Scotland, superb service and quality cooking make for a must go restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

Had a very disappointing experience at dinner last night. Food was quite tired and lacked flavour. The service was very poor. We were sitting round in an annexe sort of area. There were two other couples when we arrived, but when they left we were fairly forgotten about by the staff. I sat with an empty wine glass for three courses and the wait staff delivered the food to us so quickly and without checking how anything was that there was no time to ask for more. I was really taken aback by the poor service especially considering the price we were paying. We ended up needing to go and ask for the bill because the staff didn't really come near us. I felt incredibly disappointed to separate with so much money considering the experience we had. Save your money and head to The Cellar in Anstruther instead.

It’s just fantastic that this restaurant has reopened and it’s as good as ever. I’m pleased to say that the restaurant was fully booked and the atmosphere was appreciative and relaxed. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious: the cheese soufflé was particularly marvellous. This is a wonderful place for a celebratory meal and it is excellent value for the money.

Quality is consistently high, and the food is delicious. Its always a treat to eat here, the selection of wines are always really good too.

Usually visit once a year when we're in Fife because we enjoy it so much. This year was no exception. We had a table in the annexe overlooking the sea; the staff were attentive without being in your face; the food was delicious; and despite the pandemic the restaurant was full. If I had to eat a Twice Baked cheese souffle every day for the rest of my life you wouldn't hear me complain.

Another wonderful visit to Craig Millar. Each course a delight. We found it difficult to choose from the menu wanting to try it all! It didn't disappoint. The staff are so welcoming, the atmosphere relaxed and it is beautiful looking out across the St Monans harbour and the Forth as you eat. Sadly no dolphins this time.

Visited on a lovely autumn day with great views , several tables in use outside with heaters and wine etc available but not inside at our table due to Covid . Had an excellent lunch ( no dinner at present due to Covid ) . Despite being busy good service . Food was outstanding ( cheese soufflé, halibut and bramble parfait ) and in my opinion Michelin star standard at a reasonable price.

This was the highlight of our recent staycation. We dined with a gorgeous sea view and the service was superb. The exquisite food is definitely worthy of a Michelin star and could not fault one dish. The way the kitchen tailored the menu to a coeliac’s requirements was an added bonus. Have to say this has been my favourite dining experience for a very long time. Oh and do have the wine pairing - great value and thoughtful and innovative choices.

Finally managed to get here (after having to cancel twice due to covid restrictions) and wasn't disappointed. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and extremely well presented. We were seated inside and due to new covid rules no alcohol was allowed but the choice of non alcoholic drinks and mocktails added to the great experience, will definitely be going again

During these difficult times it was a pleasure to experience a first class late lunch at this magical venue with views over the Firth of Forth. Attentive staff. First class food. Make the effort to visit if you are in the area
