Excellent service and food, well cooked and presented.

Fabulous view across to Dundee, tasty food and lovely staff, definitely a recommendation.

Myself & my wife booked a table here for this evenings meal, we enjoy going out every 2nd week for our tea, I've been to many places trust me this place is easily in our top 3, food was outstanding, service was first class,chicken/with green thia sauce vegies & rice followed by sticky toffee pudding [Fab!] do not hesitate trust me the view will not let u down, best food I've eaten out in ages.

Five of us visited for a family birthday celebration dinner. Everyone loved the food. Service was good. We'll be back again soon!

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant that has been a place we have wanted to visit but never got around to it however I can say we gave found to jewel in the crown 👑 the place especially the facilities are spotless and the staff so friendly 👍them we come to the food which was scrumptious and delicious 😋 the question we asked why given the very high quality of food was it so quiet for a Sunday evening 🤔the restaurant is a bit of the norm roads but given it’s high standards and quality I would have thought that it would have been absolutely mobbed 😋the food was spectacular the presentation excellent the overall experience was superb and very highly recommended to all food lovers to visit

We have been to the View many times before and it never disappoints. But this was a different occasion as we were hosting a lunch for 16 family and friends to celebrate our golden wedding. Would it be up to the usual standard with such numbers, and an age range from 86 to 9? We needn't have worried. From start to finish it was excellent. The food of course was absolutely delicious and the service first class. We had the side area to ourselves which was just perfect. Many of our guests had never been to the View before and they were all singing its praises. Thank you for a lovely, happy celebration.

A nice restaurant in an unassuming location. We just stopped in for a sticky pudding and hot chocolate (both of which were delicious).

We booked The view as it was a late birthday celebration with some friends. It had been recommended to us so we thought we would give it a go. As the name says “The view” across the River Tay is stunning, we had a few cocktails then into our meal, food was stunning, service was great, we enjoyed ourselves that much that we had a few more drinks and had to leave the car and get a taxi home, which the staff organised for us. Overall a great evening, lovely staff great food and the cocktails excellent. We will be back

Visited this Restaurant for a family reunion. We were made very welcome and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The space is nicely presented and the view is great (even on a wet summer's day). They offered separate vegan and vegetarian menus and we're willing to adapt items on the main menu to fit individual dietary requirements. It was nice to have a couple of choices for vegans! The food was all freshly cooked and good quality produce. The vegan cauliflower curry was delicious but could do with some rice or flatbread to accompany it. The sauted vegetables and potatoes were very tasty (but a bit oily for my personal taste). The portion size was a little small and the prices a little high. They struggled to keep up with orders and deliver food at the same time, just a touch chaotic! However they apologised promptly and knocked a little off the bill, so all credit to them for that. To be honest 3 stars is a bit harsh, they are definitely better than average!

Brilliant food, friendly staff, and accepting of a few coastal walkers hungry for lunch! Caesar salad and curry chicken open sandwich was unreal. Latte was made to perfection too ✨

Had lunch here, the rare beef open sandwich was excellent. Very tender and tasty. I'm not a fan of rare meat, but this was a turn up for the books.

We chose this restaurant on recommendation for a special celebration. We were not disappointed - excellent menu choices and fantastic service. Karen & Steve have obviously worked hard to create a lovely atmosphere - Soft decor, immaculately clean, well trained staff - an absolute delight. Between the two of us we experienced an excellent experience across the menu choices - the food was superb and the house wine both red & white was delightful. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough - well done. We will definitely be back.

I had an amazing experience at The View Restaurant. The staff is incredibly awesome. I didn't ask for the starter, but I can say for sure that the main course was fabulous and the dessert amazing. I will certainly come back at some point!

Recently, I went to this wonderful restaurant with a gorgeous view of the Tay and an awesome staff, and had the best experience. I could not find a better place to propose to my girlfriend. All perfect: the food and dessert were so delicious and the environment is really cozy and welcoming. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff members for helping me to surprise my girlfriend, you were amazing! I strongly recommend this restaurant and will certainly come back!

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal at The View Restaurant recently, well worth the trip across from Dundee. We were down in Dundee for a weekend break & our location close to city centre meant it was an easy trip across the Tay by bus to the restaurant. The food was excellent, very well presented,portion sizes were generous and importantly tasted fantastic, across all 3 courses. My only very slight grumble was the service, but talking to the owner after our meal, he explained that some of the staff were new and were training. Would certainly recommend and afterwards we did enjoy the 'view' as we waited for the return journey back across the Tay. 😁

Saw the lovely reviews and planned to pop in for a coffee after a long dog walk. Seems I got the wrong end of the stick from the reviews I skim read as it's not exactly dog friendly. You're not allowed in the restaurant - you have to sit in a little shed at the back. Nice enough I think, and with a heater, but rather defeats the object of going to a place called The View. We didn't stay, so not fair to give a negative rating, but thought others might appreciate the clarification.

we had a great meal here, the food and ambience could not be faulted. I had the Cod, my brother the turkey dinner very good, even though we were tempted by the specials.

Thoroughly enjoyed a lovely meal served in tasteful, homely surroundings. The food presentation and quality was excellent served by friendly and attentive staff. The menu is not large but there is certainly something to suit everyone's taste. We had three courses each and they were all excellent.

Fantastic night with lovely food yet again with stunning views over to Dundee ( even in the dark ). Used the View Restaurant on numerous occasions for family special events and get togethers with friends and never been let down. Tables are well spaced out so you are not having to listen to the next tables conversation. Last but no means least all the staff are always very professional and friendly a great wee team 👍🏼

Great food, five star breakfasts

We popped in for coffee/cake but then decided to have breakfast/ brunch instead. Fantastic place, friendly staff and delicious food. The view was not the best as it was a misty day but that didn't detract from our visit. Will definitely visit again.

We are regular customers and we usually love it. This time the food was ok and nothing tgta make me feel to come back. I would suggest to rinnovate the menu and elevate again the taste of your food.

The View staff were very welcoming we had 24 people at the wedding breakfast the aperitifs were delicious. The first course that I had was small haggis fritters they were delicious this was followed by in an irn bru sorbet fabulous, chicken, mash potatoes with leeks through the mash and veg very ,very tasty, and to top off with meringue roulade absolutely delicious .If you get the chance you must go the view is fantastic to sit and look through the windows so welcoming the atmosphere is great you couldn’t ask for anything better.All of the guests enjoyed there meals. A place you’ll want to return to. Thank you to Steve and Karen for making the wedding meal memorable for all your staff were lovely as well as very caring.

Having had excellent food and service here numerous times over a number of years, we opted to book The View for our recent wedding. The food and service were excellent as always! The pre planning was excellent with good communication from the team. On the day, the front of house team were excellent - professional and accommodating but also very warm! The food was once again exceptional and all guests confirmed this! We had a large table and the food was prepared and served smoothly, with no delays like you sometimes get with large groups. All of the food was delicious but the black pudding bon bons, haggis fritters, venison, and sticky toffee pudding were notably popular with our guests! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely be back! Thanks to all the team.

My brothers wedding breakfast (dinner) was hosted by Steve and Karen at the View and I can only say everything was AMAZING! The food was to die for, the staff very friendly and the views over the Tay were fabulous! They went over and above to ensure everyone’s needs were catered for and honestly couldn’t have imagined any where better to celebrate. If you get the chance, I would highly recommend anyone takes the opportunity to enjoy a visit!

I had the absolute delight to visit The View (which is more than aptly named) for the wedding breakfast of two of my dearest friends, Scott & Keith. The owners, Steve & Karen pulled of a truly special evening for our group with perfectly tailored courses to suit the guests and the grooms. The food was spectacular, I was too pre-occupied to take many photos, but trust me that this is a great place for food and a brilliant venue for a special dinner.

Passed on a walk with family and thought it would be nice to sit outside for breakfast. We all settled at a table and I wandered in for menus. Woman who looked in charge shrugged her shoulders and said 'we've got nothing' - the place was half empty inside, plenty staff behind the bar and had only been open 15 minutes. The most unwelcoming, unfriendly (downright rude) response from anywhere I have ever visited. Why was there 'nothing' - do people pre-order food? Was there not a bacon roll or even a cup of coffee to be had? This was a weekday. Absolutely ridiculous response and I felt humiliated. Will never step foot in this place again. Oh...and found out later the woman is actually the owner. Clearly doesn't need the custom!!

Menu for vegàn, which is great, and we needn't have hurried to get there as we had plenty of time to chat before our first course arrived. It was great that the staff took their time bringing food out with only 15 guests attending they had plenty of time to serve food hot. As a vegan I don't really need protein at all (?) so felt very sated with the deep fried veg dripping in hot oil with no protein in the main. With a choice of two desserts, sorbet or plum and aged nut crumble, the sorbet was delicious, I could have done without the aged nut crumble... I didn't know aged nuts were a thing, must be an acquired taste.

We were at a private function. The food, staff and service were second to none ( they weren't expecting as many guests, but they rose to the occasion) The views are wonderful. A perfect venue.

We decided to take a family member out to celebrate a birthday. The food was amazing, well presented and thoroughly enjoyable. The wait staff were friendly and very efficient. It was great to see a local restaurant so busy on a Saturday evening.

A couple of weeks ago, as I was visiting my Sister-in-Law in nearby Gauldry; together with her Daughter and Partner, (after a few years), returned to this lovely Restaurant for a spot of Lunch. Once again, all the Food was nicely presented and very tasty but the star of our Lunch was the Breaded Peterhead Fillets of Plaice! Also, the welcome and the quality of the Service, (especially), by the Owner was Excellent. Overall a Good Lunch and Very Good Value.

There are good views over the Tay, the place wasn't busy but the service was slow. Five of us, four meals came we were told the last would be a little while. We had all but finished befor it arrived. Overall, not value for money, expensive for what it was. I will not be going back.

Excellent food very tasty and locally sourced. Tasty Angus beef with a lovely gravy, crisped new potatoes and tasty vegetables. Lemon merguine roulade with local raspberry. Definitely worth a visit and service by Jasmin was very good.

The food was excellent and service very good, I asked for a vodka martini, Jasmin made me a perfect one. I had the Angus sliced sirloin with local vegetables and delicious sauce, i enjoyed the slight cooked red onion dipped in a crispy batter and crispy new potatoes, my husband had the chicken with a delicious sauce and small sides of black pudding, cabbage. Desert was sublime, I had the lemon merguine marscapone roulade with lemon sauce and local raspberries, just yum. Chocolate mousse, with strawberries and homemade imore chocolate ice cream. Just delicious. So book now and don't miss this delicious food. I live local and will be back. Thank you to Jasmin for the excellent service.

5 miles out on my Fife Coastal path hike with 2 dogs in tow, thinking to myself, as I arrived at the foot of the Tay train bridge, I really fancy a coffee! The View Restaurant was nearby so we took a small detour. What a gem of a place with caring staff who take the time to say hello, a fabulous menu (I really wasn't expecting that) a talented chef and the result is one (no sorry 3, the dogs got sausages each) very satisfied customers. If you are ever in the area it is definitely worth making time for a full dining experience here.

We had delicious food here, with very friendly and helpful service. Of course it's not called 'The View' for no good reason. Enjoying good food in good company overlooking the beautiful River Tay and the Tay Rail bridge is what this restaurant gives you.

We stopped here on a lark and it turned out to be one the best finds in Scotland! The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were more than adequate and the meals were very well prepared. The coffee drinks were just what we needed to get us going. The space itself was nicely decorated and very comfortable. Definitely worth deviating from our route for this place. Would love to come again.

Visited the restaurant for lunch yesterday, had our dog Daisy with us, I can only say that although we had an amazing lunch, we were made welcome by all the staff. We sat in the garden area at the rear, thanks to all staff and the chef for the sausages for Daisy.
