Best service you could want from a pub, every time I visit.

Really disappointed considering the current score of 4.8. Locals were rude making you feel quite unwelcome. The staff were nice and friendly and got my wife and I a table to eat at. I almost wish they hadn't though, as the food was mediocre at best. We both asked for ribeye steaks but received what appeared to be a sirloin. Steak was full of fat and quite chewy/tough for a medium rare cook. Flavour was good but had to leave about a third of it due to the excessive amount of fat on the cut. The chips and black pudding were both under cooked, whilst the peas were over. No-one checked on us after being served and we left unsatisfied. Such a shame as it looked and felt like it was going to be good.

I ate this restaurant with my friend to celebrate our birthdays. The restaurant offerred a halal tasting menu so I opted for that... it was not disappointing! The fried chicken, monkfish, and mutton were particularly memorable. We finished our tasting menu with a special red brick chocolate that represents a historical area in Birmingham. The staff also gave us some mini cupcakes to celebrate our birthday. This restaurant has everything: friendly staff, high quality food, good service and ambience, and some traces of Birmingham history and culture. I really recommend this restaurant!

Stop tarring every one with the same brush, I DID NOT have any alcohol in bottle it was Tesco High Juice as I need a drink of Juice or Water at all times due to Panic Attacks. I went for my Cousins Birthday. 1 bar man told me I can't bring my own drinks and another actually took it as I left it on the table when I went upstairs to the Ladies good job I saw him with it as I was leaving and would have had a Panic attack on the bus.

Nice meal, nice staff, only issue was one of the chateaubriands was overcooked which ruined the meal a bit.

Lovely pub/hotel and perfectly located for exploring the North East. Some lovely touches including fresh cakes, sloe gin, fresh milk and the nespresso machine. The bed was clean and comfy. However, some attention to detail was missing eg the room was really dusty and it needed a good hoover. The ironing board was badly stained and needs a cover. Breakfast on the other hand was delicious and cooked especially for us, with plenty of choice, and the evening meal also excellent. The staff were all super friendly.

Lovely restaurant and staff, great quality fresh food and very generous portions. The scampi and roast lamb are just fantastic. Highly recommend.

Fined with friends had afternoon tea which was delicious Definitely go again cannot fault anything 5 stars all round

First visit to this lovely restaurant . Absolutely gorgeous food.. Looked amazing… tasted amazing .. and we would definitely recommend and will be back.. Not expensive for the quality of the food . Brilliant service and lovely people.. it was busy so make sure you book

Visited for lunch having visited Calgary Bay. Lovely half lobster and cheese board. Well worth planning into your trip around Weat Mull.
