Lastra Farm in Isle of Anglesey

Arrived to find we had been upgraded and our room was beautiful. Spotless, really comfy bed and snuggly sofa with a large flatscreen on the wall instead of a tiny one. No noise whatsoever, other than the storm. Bathroom ultra modern with the best hotel shower I have experienced! Breakfast was beautiful with lots of choice and we ended up dining there every night too as the good was delicious. Our hosts were just charming too. Every staff member was smiling and attentive and we really were made to feel most welcome at all times. If you want to walk, it's a stretch down to the coastal path so there may be more convenient places for that, but if you want to be able to relax in the proverbial lap of luxury on your return from a long day walking, this is perfect - and we can vouch for that!

We had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious and very clean. Nice touch to have fresh milk in the fridge in the lounge. We had dinner in the evening and that was really delicious. Tasty food with very friendly staff. Breakfast the next morning was lovely. Fresh, good quality, local ingredients. Can’t fault the hotel and restaurant and would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay near Amlwch.

My wife and I hadn't been to Lastra Farm for a couple of years but decided to go for Sunday lunch on our latest visit to Anglesey last week. We were delighted with the whole experience, as good if not better than our last visit, from the welcome, to the service and the delicious food, excellent all round, if you enjoy a traditional Sunday lunch, Lastra Farm is hard to beat, thanks to all the staff

This was a return visit after nearly 30 years and was well worth it. We stayed for 2 nights in The Gatehouse. It was comfortable, quiet and well-equipped. It was very wet during our stay so it was nice have somewhere with a sitting area to relax and dry off! Just a small thing, but dressing gowns in the room would have been nice… We ate once in the conservatory and once in the restaurant; both times the food and service was excellent. We had a lovely chat with Elaine at breakfast on our last morning about our meals there during the late 80s and early 90s. If you are planning a visit to Anglesey then I definitely recommend a stay, or at least dinner, here.

Great food matched by excellent service. Set in lovely surroundings with great views across the island. I would recommend eating in the conservatory rather than the bar area.

We went for an early evening sitting that we had booked prior and being early it was quite noisy being a children friendly resteraunt but within only half an hour the volume had lowered substantially so I would advise 7pm onwards if you prefer a quieter more romantic feel. The staff at this venue were extremely pleasant and helpful infact we couldn't fault them on any level.shown to our seating the seats were very comfortable and it was a light and airy area. The menu for drinks suited all tastes and we all quickly found one each that suited ours... the food menu was extensive with many options which I personally was struggling to choose between. Our table had for starters calamari, brie wedges and duck salad and these were all ones I was having to choose between so had my own and a taste of the others and as they were all exceptionally good I again will be spoilt for choice on my return. The mains our table had were the crab mornay, lamb shank, and pork loin and compliments must go to the chef as eating my main was indeed a wow moment and everyone on our table all thought the same about theirs.... the portions of both starters and mains were substantial and I couldn't manage a sweet although the creme brulee and the Berry meringue were had by my family and looked amazing if you had the room. This was the first time visiting here for a meal and it has now topped the list of places we like to eat. It would suit family's, couples, special occasions, fine dining or if you simply want a excellent meal and are feeling hungry. It is not the cheapest, but is well worth the money and a bargain at the price... Well worth a visit !

We had a lovely meal in the granary restaurant. The service was friendly and very efficient. I had sea bass which was excellent with a lovely sauce (nicely served on the side). The vegetables were fantastic- beautifully cooked (this seems a minor thing but veg is so often disappointing in restaurants and I love veg!). It’s an interesting menu with lots of choice, especially the mains. We will definitely go back.

I had an absolutely lovely stay at The Lastra Farm Hotel, I wish I’d been able to stay longer. I arrived tired from travelling and soon settled into my cosy room. Had a fantastic meal in the restaurant, and then slept better than I have done in a long time. Would 100% recommend. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond. The food was delicious and the rooms were immaculate. Diolch Lastra!

Top notch Sunday lunch.... It was worth the visit from our base in Menai Bridge. Everything cooked superbly, lots and lots of food on your plate. Haven't had a nice Sunday lunch out, like that in a while. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Anglesey later on in the year.

Shout out firstly to our wonderful first waitress who welcomed us and filled our glass with fruit to make the bloke’s sparkling water more special. She was everything you hope a waitress to be…excellent service. It was our anniversary and there was a card on our table; what a sweet gesture! Couldn’t fault the food - delicious from starter to puf - and loved my glass of Chenin blanc. Most importantly, dog friendly and our boys were made so welcome. 🐶💖 We will definitely return when back in this area of Anglesey. Thank you!!

This is a beautiful restaurant located off the beaten track near Amlwch. The menu serves up an enticing selection of local ingredients. Expertly cooked, presented and served. My wife chose the local pate with onion marmalade and I had whitebait, which were cooked to perfection accompanied by a paprika mayonnaise. For our mains we both had the local crab and prawn mornay accompanied by a water melon salad and a pot of chunky chips. Delightful. As this was a Sunday, the menu also included locally sourced Sunday lunch staples of roast beef and roast pork, many diners chose this option, and, judging by the empty plates, like us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The far wall of the dining area houses a rack of shelves stocked with their own products and neighbours products, a testament to the pride in local produce. Jams, marmalades, sauces, gins, runs and whiskeys. We will visit this restaurant again definitely.

We had a lovely evening meal in the Lastra Farm (Graneri) restaurant. The pan-fried garlic prawns in chilli & garlic butter were divine. The whitebait was crispy and tasty. For mains, we had their delicious slow-cooked lamb shank in red wine and mint gravy with a perfectly cooked selection of fresh veg. The service was friendly and very quick... Perhaps a bit too quick. There was virtually no gap between courses so we felt a little rushed and consequently overfull! Nevertheless, it was a great meal and an excellent venue.

My wife and I where told about the restaurant and we weren't disappointed, we were welcomed by the pleasant and helpful staff. Nothing was to much trouble they could not have been more accommodating. When asked what they would recommend they said the rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection. My wife and I have no hesitation in going back there and also recommend the restaurant.

We stayed there over a weekend. So good we ate there both nights. It was pointless going elsewhere when the food was so good. The vegetarian with us had no complaints. Also, check out the local Ciders and Gins.

I visited Lastra farm this week with friends. Our rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and well maintained. Our friends have two dogs and their room was the same. Both had a comfy sofa in to relax on. The breakfasts were very tasty. The meals at night were fabulous. I had sea bass the first night and the Xmas dinner on the second. The staff were so friendly, especially Dan who told us jokes and performed tricks at the table. All in all, would highly recommend.

My parents visited Llastra Farm year after year and we shall always look foward to our visits whenever we visit Anglesey. It is in a lovely situation, a family run place, with friendly staff. The room are attractive, comfortable and very clean and the meals are very good in an airy,light restaurant. There is nothing more to say, we have great affection for this special place.

I feel like a broken record but Lastra Farm is the best place to eat on Anglesey. The staff are fantastic from front of house to the people you don’t see in the kitchen, the food is always fresh, hot and an art form on a plate and the taste is just fresh cooked ingredients done perfectly. Give it a try I promise you won’t be disappointed. 5 star food and service.

We were a large group of 20 who had preordered our meals. The restaurant staff handled our arrival and drinks service efficiently and courteously prior to seating us. Our food arrived equally promptly with smiling waitstaff and the vegetables were served with amazing speed meaning our food was still hot even with this large a group. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the quality of food and we’re impressed at how we were served so effortlessly. Amazing service and tasty fresh food. An added bonus was that the height of the dining room meant that the noise dissipated and people were able to talk and hear one another easily.

Recently visited on our way to Holyhead. We turned up not having booked a table, and were accommodated very professionally and quickly. We were made to feel comfortable whilst waiting for our food. We had mussels and seafood platter. Both dishes were delicious. Desserts followed, Panna cotta and chocolate fudge cake. Overall, a great place for recommendation.

It’s many years since I ate here; last time was my sister’s wedding reception venue and I remember the meal was excellent. I met up here with a long lost friend recently. Over 50 years since I’d seen her and by chance, she booked in for an overnight stay at Lastra prior to taking Irish ferry. I live less than a mile away, but she didn’t know that!

We visited with family and friends to celebrate 2 of my sister's birthday when the food arrived it was warm but we ate it ,when the pudding arrived to our astonishment it was moldy and had flies on the fruit, when mentioned to the management she said that the fruit was fresh and it was expected to have some flies in it , I couldn't believe my ears that a respectable establishment could have such attitude, then to put icing on the cake she spoilt the surprise by bringing the wrong cake to out table , it's sad to say that my family and friends will not be frequenting this restaurant again .

We had two meals here while staying at Lastra Farm and fully enjoyed them both. They also have a specials daily menu which is also good. Would recommend you give it a try if you are in the area.

We found this a good place for a traditional Sunday Lunch, service was friendly and the meal enjoyable. A few real ales on offer would have been welcome, but that is a personal choice, otherwise a pleasant experience to brighten up a wet Welsh Sunday. Probably a useful idea to book in advance.

Had a lovely meal here We would have stopped for coffee but there was a table of six where one chap was holding forth and could probably be heard down at the sea front. Why are some people so arragant and noisy? A little offputting though to see a large rat on the patio eating up leftovers.

We enjoyed an early evening meal here on Sunday. Not much else was open on the island. Good service - delicious mussels to start and smoked duck salad - lovely for a change. On request - gave me a gluten free seeded roll with my starter. Reasonable prices considering the quality.
